As a Korean who grew up in southern California and ate stellar, authentic homemade Korean food and restaurant food regularly growing up - I've been craving real Korean food like crazy since we moved to London, and I was really looking forward to Woo Jung. We ordered the LA galbi, tangsuyuk, the bibim naengmyeon and jjajangmyeon ( I was looking forward to the noodle dishes I ordered the most). First, the positives: the atmosphere is awesome, it was very very busy when we visited at noon on a Friday, and the servers were so friendly and courteous, I really appreciate their kindness and help. Also, the tangsuyuk was very tasty and the LA galbi was fantastic (awesome, bold marinade with great char flavor. The LA galbi was a 10/10 and I would return to Woo Jung to order it again). Second, the negatives: the noodle dishes were the worst versions of these dishes that I have ever had. The naengmyeon and jjajangmyeon noodles were so overcooked, I have to believe it was done in error and wasn't intended to be served that way. The naengmyeon noodles especially did not have any of the chewiness that one expects from naengmyeon, and the jjajangmyeon noodles were equally soggy (even a person without teeth could have eaten these noodles, they were that soggy). Maybe because the restaurant was packed and there was a table with a party of 6 in front of us, so perhaps the chef forgot about the noodles and accidentally overcooked them? I'm not sure. I never send back food, I've never done that before in my life. But, this was the first time I seriously considered sending the noodles back and asking the kitchen if there had been a mistake... (the only reason I didn't send the food back, was because of how packed and busy the restaurant was). Also - the bibim sauce on the naengmyeon tasted a bit off; I've never had bibim naengmyeon yangyum taste like that before. The jjajang sauce was okay; the flavor wasn't strong enough for my taste (but I know that is subjective, and varies from person to person). Ultimately, I don't know if the noodles that particular day were just off and aren't regularly like that - but both noodle dishes were so bad, I don't think I will risk ordering any noodle dishes here again. That being said, the tangsuyuk and LA Galbi were great. If a friend asked me about Woo Jung, I would recommend their sizzle plate dishes and fried dishes without hesitation. Maybe pass on the noodle dishes though.

Been coming here for over a year now. The food is just so good and we’re always looked after by the staff super well. Everyone from the chefs to all of the front of house team have always been amazing to us, they remember us and makes us feel at home. Pooja served us tonight and as always the service was incredible and food divine. Thank you for being our favorite spot and feeding us well.

Lovely food, super friendly service and a must revisit and it only took a week for us to return and again it didn't disappoint on all levels service, personal attention, flavour and atmosphere. Today 2. Jan 2025 must be the 3rd or 4th time at Woo Jung and after watching an episode of A Virtuous Business on Netflix where a woman managed to keep a man stay for dinner by offering to to cook Kal-Guksu for him, we ran to Woo Jung (our favourite Korean after trying many) to try it. We ordered one with seafood and one with seafood and kimchi. In short, delicious and a big portion as well. We recommend trying it!

Bibimbae 😋 food was rlly authentic and yummy

The food is amazing and super affordable. The staff is always super friendly and nice. Pooja is a gem and took great care of us. Whatever you have, please try their beef japchae.

Such a disappointment! Sadly can’t give zero star. One of the worst spicy beef stew rice! Tasted like water. WORST service ever, not given time to read menu and rushing to clear the table. Disgusting attitude from the waitress. Definitely not recommended! I bet they treated Jennie differently.

Overall really great tasting food with good portion sizes. Service was great, dining space is a bit cramped but still comfortable.

I ordered a kimchi pancake and a bowl of tteok mandu guk. The pancake was very crispy and tasted very “kimchi”. The soup was very nice! I really liked the taste of the soup, as well as the mandus and tteoks!! Moreover, the staff members were so nice and polite. Also, the restaurant is located next to a bus stop, so it is convenient to access there. The prices of the food are relatively low compared to other restaurants in London. Tbh it is even cheaper than (most of) the Korean restaurants in Leeds.

Stumbled across this place when I was starving, and what a gem! As a big lover of Korean food, I can confidently say this is up there with some of the best I’ve had in London. The kimchi is a must. Quick, easy, and affordable, with the added novelty of being located inside a convenience store—definitely worth a visit!

Great food and service. Been meaning to try this place for a while and my daughter and I were not disappointed. We had mul pajeon, japchae and soondubu jjigae- all utterly delicious. We’re already planning our next visit to try out the other options on the menu. Staff were very friendly and service was excellent.

It was my first time coming to the UK and it was nice to have Korean food for the first time in a while and it was so delicious! The owner was friendly and the food came out quickly so I was very satisfied!! I want to come again next time!

The restaurant is located inside an asian supermarket which makes it very interesting. The food was delicious!!! Big portions and very fresh and tasty. Really worth the £12. Also the staff was very attentive and friendly and made sure that everything was ok. Definitely worth a visit. It feels very authentic korean. We will be back for sure to try more food!

We came for a mid week dinner and between the two of us, we shared the tteokkbokki (good flavour but a bit salty), seafood pancake (could have a bit more crisp but flavour was good), LA Galbi ribs (done well and it was the favourite) and the jjajjangmeon (this was bad as the flavour was off and lacked the rich umami flavour). The kimchi fell short, lacking both saltiness and spiciness, though I admit I’m more critical as a Korean. The service is efficient and friendly.

Delicious, and the price is so affordable (with no service charge!) Definitely will come back again! The beef ribs soup was tasty (but it was a bit too salty), and sweet and sour chicken was good as well.

I went to France and England for my honeymoon and was craving Korean food so I looked for it and visited!! The owner's service is good and the employees are fluent in Korean!! The taste makes you forget the perfume👍

Maybe we came in on a bad day/time but overall a slightly disappointing experience. I was taken aback by lack of welcoming from the host and not acknowledging us for a while. We were confused where to do and to wait, after I tried going to a table a host stopped me and sent me back to wait at the front (there were plenty of empty tables). The food came quickly and was very hot. However the kimchi pancake (kimji-jeong) had not a trace of kimchi in it. I asked server if by any chance it was a different one and was reassured that it was the kimchi pancake, yet there was a couple of slices of chilli and flakes of scallion. Mandugguk which is a dumpling no soup was tasty. Overall it was a good quick meal, but the experience wasn’t warm or welcoming.

There was a Korean grocery store at the entrance, so I almost passed it by. If you go inside, there are tables on the basement and first floor. I'm sick of breakfast in London, but I went here often because it's close to my hotel. The price is reasonable and the owner's service is perfect. There are a lot of foreigners and a lot of Chinese students studying abroad. You may have to wait a bit during the lunch peak.

I went there three times during my trip to London and it was really delicious. The kimchi stew and pork rice bowl were both rich in rice and ingredients, which helped a lot in recovering from loss of appetite due to failure to adapt to jet lag. I think the price tag of £12 is reasonable. I was grateful to the owner and all employees for their kind response.

A truly authentic restaurant located in the basement of a Korean supermarket in the centre of London which apparently Kpop celebrities have also visited (as seen from the signatures framed on the wall). The place is also full of Kpop posters with a tv playing Kpop mvs. My companion ordered the kimchi jjigae and which she said tastes exactly the same as the one she had in Korea - full of flavours with just the right level of spiciness and full of kimchi. I ordered the Doenjang jjigae which is also packed with tofu and vegetables, a perfect dish to have in winter! I will certainly return to try more, definitely one of the best I have in London!

Da best korean restaurant, and one of my fav place in London. Food is so original, tasty. Bibimbab is my fav dish, bulgogi deopbap is also very tasty. The entrence is through the korean market. You may also buy alcoholic beverages from there, and drink them in the restaurant. Advice; mix sapporo beer with a little bit of soju for real korean experience.

Fatigued from a long trip to London and deceived by fake Korean restaurants. I finally ate real, original Korean food and was healed both physically and mentally. I enjoyed it so much.

Compared with other Korean restaurants in London, the price here is quite reasonable and acceptable🥳The cold noodles is one of my favorite with the special add of 🍎 and “bong bong🍇” is our favorite beverage, so fresh~

I had Tofu Kimchi with rice! It was delicious and very authentic!! Sunny was very lovely!

There was pork cutlet on the menu, so I ordered it because I wanted to eat it. I didn't expect it in London, but... The pork cutlet had been fried for a long time, so it was hard and tasteless. Other than that, the other food was still okay. If you come here, definitely skip the pork cutlet.

The best Korean restaurant in the UK. It's clean and tastes good. Even if I were to eat every meal in London, I would still be able to eat it here. The broiler sauce was delicious.

Very arrogant staff. Waited for 20 mins for food to be served. Chased then and the waitress proudly told me I’ve only been waiting for 13 mins so it’s nothing. The girl next to me managed to sit down, order, get served and finish eating whilst I was waiting. The food arrived was clearly not what I ordered so that might explain the “only 13 mins” wait. Had theatre to rush to afterwards so asked for a reduction in bill instead of carrying the 2nd dish (my order). The staff refused and told me to be happy because they charged me the lower priced dish (which I didn’t order in the first place). Food was typical Korean so not disappointing but nothing special to report.

I ordered the kimchi pork tofu soup with rice, veggie fried glass noddles (fensi), fried chicken and kimchi pancakes for dinner. The food was great and served in hot. They tasted like the same I had in Seoul restuarnet, especially the kimchi pancake. It's the highlight of the day and definitely highlight of the meal. The restaurant is located at the basement and a bit small so my suggestion is don't carry lots of belonging with you for a visit.

Cool restaurant in the back/basement of a korean supermarket. Bit of a queue but not long and absolutely worth the wait. Prices are so reasonable, mains around 12-15 mark. You can get rice + dish for £12 all in as well which is great for a solo diner. We had bulgogi, kimchi fried rice, seafood and kimchi soup. They were all so good! I am no Korean food connoisseur but I would definitely be back. Service was really friendly and food came quickly. They also had a great selection of teas and other drinks.

Next time I go to London, this is a Korean restaurant I will go to again😊 I ordered ribs, stir-fried pork, and black bean noodles, and it tasted just like what I had in Korea! The kids ate it well, and can you see the amount of rice in the stir-fried pork? I am completely generous. The owner and staff were all friendly, so I felt good. You have to go inside the mart to find the entrance, so don't hesitate and go in. 😁

When I came on a trip, I had a hard time ordering just one thing because I had to add and subtract things, but this Korean restaurant is perfect! It was so nice that it came out right after I selected it!! Is it because it’s a different country? It was better than what I had in Korea. ㅠㅠ!!! The short conversation with the owner was also great!! I thought I was meeting my aunt~~ Please give us some useful tips and let us know what you’re curious about! We will go again tomorrow!

Soft tofu stew and soybean paste stew are served in an earthen pot, and the warm, delicious soup and generous ingredients make it feel like home-cooked food. Above all, soft tofu stew suits Japanese tastes, and I think other foreigners will also like it! It was the first place I wanted to eat in London. I was very worried because my flight was late and I arrived in London late at the false deadline, but I was very grateful to the owner who accepted it as a last order and I enjoyed it very much😃 Thanks to the delicious food, the Korean atmosphere of the store, and the friendly owner and staff, I was able to enjoy my first satisfying meal in London with my girlfriend 😊 If I get a chance, I want to come back again, This is a store I will definitely visit again someday. I ordered stir-fried pork, bibimbap, black bean noodles, kimchi pancake, and it was so delicious~~.^^ My wife had already been there before, so we decided to visit again this time. When I saw that my wife and I had a child, we were touched and brought snacks for the child. ~~^^

I found this Korean restaurant because I was hungry after visiting the British Museum. It is located in the basement past the grocery store. There were a lot of foreigners. I ordered pork cutlet and udon. The taste was average. The udon came with shrimp coated in batter, paprika (green pepper?), onion, etc. (I think it was made creatively because it's England, so there were no other ingredients, but it was a bit disappointing that they left out the shrimp). It was also disappointing that no side dishes were provided.

The Korean restaurant is located inside the supermarket, so head directly to the back. The Korean food here was authentic and tasty, but a word of caution: do not sit near the kitchen. Our table was next to it, and our clothes smelled of food for the whole day.

Made famous by the visit of a k-pop star (Jenny), it is however the food quality and taste that makes it worth a visit. Its very small and there is usally a queue. But its all worth it. Located inside a convenience store which itself is worth a visit

I went with two other people and ordered two Soontofu Jhigaes and the Jeyuk Dupbap. I should preface this by saying that I’m Korean and have had my fair share of Korean food. In all fairness, the jeyuk was good - the meat was tender and the sauce was tasty, not overly salty. But the tofu came down - oh my god. As other reviewers have mentioned and put up photos of, this dish should NOT have been called a jjigae. It was a watered down soup, at best. There was BARELY any tofu in there, I would say it would have used a quarter of a typical roll of tofu. If you order a jjigae, you’re expecting a bowl with lots of fillings inside and that is light on the broth, not a watered down soup. That dish was disappointing and a disgrace to Korean food. 한국분들, 순두부 ൭을 드시고싶지 이상, 여기서 순두부 찌개는 절대 시키지 마세요. ෸리고 우정식당 여사장닠, 어떻게 찌개같지도 않은 음식을 손닠 올리고 “맛있게. 잘 드셨어요?“ Do you have a friend? 그 순두부찌개는 한൭음식에 대한 이였어요. The restaurant is located in the basement of a Korean grocery store and there were not many seats and the tables were REALLY close to one another. In terms of the service, it’s a pet peeve of mine when I go to restaurants and water is not immediately served. We had to ask for water. After the meal when we asked for the bill and wanted to pay in cash, the server asked if we had the exact amount of the bill (ie they could not provide us with change for whatever reason?????). When we said we didn’t and wanted to still pay in cash, an older lady who appeared to be the owner came by and asked us to come upstairs to the grocery area so she could give us the change from there. I didn’t like at all that she made this seem as if she was doing us a favor. It’s within my right as a customer to pay in cash unless otherwise stated in your store policy (this was not stated nor written anywhere in the restaurant that they do not accept cash). Jjambbong with hangover was amazing… ! The kimchi fried rice was also really delicious. I think I'll go there to eat every time I go to London.

It’s better than Korean stir-fried pork. Female boss? The staff is so friendly When I heard that my phone was stolen, it was warm and gave me a great lecture on theft prevention ㅜㅜ It's near the British Museum. Try it after visiting the museum. Our family ordered stir-fried pork, soft tofu stew, kimchi stew, stir-fried squid, and beef stew, and the four of us ate it. Everything is delicious

Whenever I am in London, here is the best answer all the time. If you want to experience real Korean food, you must go there. You can't deny anything. Food makes you feel happy.

I really couldn't believe it, so I went and ordered stir-fried pork and jjamppong. The stir-fried pork was tastier than regular Korean restaurants, and the jjambbong was on the spicy but delicious side. I had a glass of somaek and it felt like I was in Korea. The owner was friendly and Korean, so the atmosphere was nice. It was the best.

A small Korean Restaurant, we had Jeyuk-Deopbab, Jjambbong and Japchae. The Jeyuk-Deopbab was especially tasty and flavourful and good portion size. Jiambbong was ok, could do with a bit more noodle as portion was a bit small. The Japchae was good too. Affordable good food A+ with no additional service charges. The front entrance is a Korean supermarket and restaurant at the back of the supermarket and downstairs. No street parking. Nearest tube station- Tottenham Court Road and 3 mins walk.

This restaurant is located inside a Korean grocery store, with seating on both the ground floor and basement. All the food is delicious and feels like traditional Korean (not sure😅🤣). The staff are friendly and attentive, making it a great place to enjoy authentic Korean cuisine.

New update (6th October) I brought new people to this place because u thought It was one of my favorite Korean restaurants. But not anymore after this time. The service is absolutely amazing. I have to bring it down from 5 starts to 2 stars. This is because the portion of the bibimbap I got was like 7 spoonfuls. For £11. The vegetables are barely any. My friend’s kimchi fried rice was wet and moist? She didn’t end up finishing it either and usually we love Korean food and the food we ordered are what we are usually order else where. The fried chicken we got was not good. It didn’t look like the menu. It was just oily and sickly. We were hungry still and unsatisfied. And felt sick after. Korean chicken on the menu looks like the ones they sell in korea with breaded kfc like coating but here it looks smooth and just tastes oily. Not too bad but also not what we had expected for the price. The staff was so lovely. The guy who took our order is sweet about it when I asked about the portion size. The girl who took our payment was so lovely. Just the food needs improvement, we got told the chef just eyeballs the portions, sometimes less than usual. If portions changed drastically, why is the price fixed? I won’t be coming back after a while, would love to give it a try again but not after this. And to have called it my favorite place, is now disappointing… There was only 2 other tables, if it was busy, then it’s understandable about the food quality and portion. And also the staffs don’t get the tips, it’s really sad. I’m not sure how the manager is. It might be a family ran business. I think one of the photos of the old man who is one of the manger. The photos below are before I ate my bibimbap, i just mixed it. And that’s the portion size…. I know… shocking for £11/13. A month ago: Amazing food. Best Korean food I’ve ever had ( trust me I’ve had a lot!) the staffs are super nice, not sure if their name but they were really super sweet! The music is amazing, but the food- wow! I’ve already recommended this place to many of my friends already! Will be back here soon!
