Wrights Alfresco Cafe in Tameside

the table that me and my two friends sat at was not labelled therefore not indicating that it was part of their cafe, one of the staff saw me and my friends sat there a few times and let us be, and then she decided to tell us in a rude and ill-mannered behavior to move and was complaining with us sat there and continued to carry on the argument after we apologized straight away in a kind manner and picked our things and decided to move, she then started to gossip to her fellow colleges behind our backs although we could hear here and we was only on a small lunch break where seating was few and so we felt offended by this and that she did not need to act in this way towards us as we did not do anything wrong besides accidentally siting on a bench which was not again labelled.

Disregard the negative reviews. This cafe offers, outstanding value with a range of breakfast items, sandwiches, jacket potatoes and much more. I had a keema curry jacket potato. Lovely keema and loads of it. A big jacket potato. Excellent value. Miles better than the American fast food options. Pleasant and friendly service.

I called today at the café for a breakfast barm and coffee cos I thought I would support local business. McDonalds was open and across the pathway but I figured why support an American company or something like that. It was inedible and although the starling birds who were on my chair and table would have feasted on it I don't believe in cruelty to animals do I binned it. The muffin was paper thin and sodden in liquid of some kind. The bacon and sausages were slimy and undercooked. You couldn't lift it hence, I guess, the presentation of a plastic knife and fork (Strangeways prison style). I couldn't eat it without barking up. I should have complained but I'm British. The lady, I must say, served me immediately but as it was dross that was pretty academic. On the plus side for nearly £6 all in the coffee was OK. Now I know why people go McDonalds (other fast food restaurants are available)

Come here everytime I'm in Ashton for a quick bite and a coffee. Friendly staff and prompt service, no complaints!

Just this minute asked for sausage and bacon on toast and got it served on a muffin rather than toast, I also feel the bacon is undercooked

I’m sure this place is usually okay but the last two times I’ve been (thought I’d give them the benefit of the doubt), I was ignored whilst stood waiting to be served. Stood waiting for a good while even though it didn’t appear to be busy and the second time I went someone was served before me even though I had been there first and waiting a good while. It doesn’t hurt to address a customer and say that they’ll be with you soon, just so you’re not feeling ignored. But the fact that they had served someone before me who had evidently waiting after me was just down right rude. I did leave both times not buying anything and I won’t be back again I’m afraid. The staff do need to work on their customer service skills before they lose more customers.

Great for quick friendly service with traditional breakfast,lunch and fast food freshly cooked. The bacon and egg barms are consistently good. They are also famous for their potato hash!

Unfortunate attitude experienced by bar staff to say the least. My advice is to always hire staff that understand that being warm and welcoming should be a standard requirement.

Very good indeed been quite a few times and always service with a smile nothing to much trouble. Breakfast was great and the egg was perfect 👌
