Staff continue to be very helpful and polite and very hardworking.lovely place to have a meal.my issue is with the portions of the meals getting small,the ready made up salads are full of lettuce leaves making it look plenty full but not enough tomatoes or cucumber.ham was a slice but before was very good amount. Putting grapes on a salad doesn’t make up for what you’ve cut back on.plus don’t get chips now with sandwiches your charging separately for them. Meals are still tasty but not value for money I’m sad to say.

This café has a large and pleasant space within the garden centre. We had cake and two flat white coffees. The coffee was good. The cake was disappointing.

Called into Mappleborough Garden Centre visited the section with the wild bird food that was on offer that was very pleasing making the journey worth while a lovely place to walk around with many item that are not found in othe outlets Well worth visiting.

Dear sir, or madam, I feel compelled to email you and inform you of the diabolical experience having a breakfast at your garden centre. I was a regular most weekends and sometimes in the week, but because of the appalling experience a few weekends ago, I’ve now stopped using your restaurant or café for any food also the garden Center also. Having queued for breakfast, and the process of waiting to be served by one of your young members of staff, I was asked what choice of items I would like of which I chose the large breakfast, and she proceeded to place the items on a plate which was cold, I then waited and waited in the queue with my food going cold on my tray, having to try and order a hot drink, get cutlery and crockery onto my tray with my partner, who also had a breakfast, then finally managing to pay for the said items at the till, unfortunately, by the time we sat down to eat breakfast, it was stone cold, the toast that we ordered eventually arrived and that was lukewarm too with rock solid butter. The whole experience was horrendous, and a total waste of money, I did complain to your restaurant manageress, and I requested a total refund of which she obliged and apologised profusely. Trying to eat lukewarm eggs, virtually cold, bacon, and lukewarm by beans was pretty disgusting and a terrible start to our day. There were many people complaining and moaning within the restaurant. I did mention my dissatisfaction to a couple of your staff members, and their response was most people complain about the process of trying to order food breakfast then pay for it only to find when you eventually get to your table, your food is cold, your system just does not work and we will not return for a repeat performance. Visited Mapplebourgh Green Garden centre looking for an item I have been searching for sometime my luck was in because the item was on offer A very clean and tidy Garden centre with a large range of merchandise they have a loyalty card scheme that gives points on items bought then can be used with money off items purchased. The toilets are spotlessly clean. And the Gardeners Kitchen served a lovely latte at a very reasonable price.

We have used the restaurant a lot over the years. The 7 and 10 piece breakfasts represent good value however, the other day my wife and I went for breakfast. I didn't fancy the full works and when the lady in front of me asked for a sausage, bacon and egg sandwich, I thought that would be about right. What turned up was very disappointing. A sandwich with one sausage hacked in half on one side, a rasher of bacon on the other and an egg across the top. So, technically as described, but a very poor offering compared to what I have had for the same price in nearby garden centres. My wife ordered a toasted ham and cheese sandwich. It sounded a bit pricy, but when I went to collect it (because I think they had forgotten about it) it came with salad and crisps. This was meant to be a part of the breakfast offering, so just the sandwich and a bit cheaper would have been better. In the end my wife pulled out most of the ham which was very poor quality and full of gristle. All in all, the best part of 20 quid for a very poor offering.

Chose the roast beef lunch. The Yorkshire puddings were awful as some herb was added to the batter, since when does Yorkshire pudding have herbs in them? Roast potatoes were really bland. Parsnips obviously frozen as they were inedible, you needed a saw to cut them. Peas were like bullets and to top it all the gravy was tasteless as well. All this cost £12.95. Will never go there for lunch again. Toby carvery far better value.

Sadly, on this visit to the restaurant we were unhappy with our food. Presentation and incorrect labelling of baguette and wrap has led to a negative review. Maybe this was a one off and we will return, but avoid these items. We saw some really lovely food on other people's plates as we went out!

We have just got your garden centre in Gosport it’s one of the best things to happen in Gosport it’s so good to have a decent centre in Gosport which is a dead place on the south coast we have somewhere good to go now

The food here is okay and the service is good. My parents often go there but I do not tend to go as the menu seems to of been very similar for years. It is always clean and they have a great range of cakes etc. Just a bit boring!

Excellant prompt service good food and friendly helpful waitress. We both had steak and the waitress came to tell us that the rib eyrle steak was very thick and would take an extra ten mins to cook or it could be butterflies which would be quicker.we had that and both steaks,mine was sirloin,arrived within a few mins and were cooked well.the waitress offered us more salad and offered to get it for us. The restaurant was clean and welcoming.

called in for lunch whilst passing through, only had a toasted sandwich which was excellent served with a very nice side salad - good friendly service and a reasonable price.

We called for just a bite and a drink over lunch and not being here before, were pleasantly surprised. Delicious sandwiches and lovely coffee hit the spot. Looking at some of the other food that was served it all looked good but not tasting it I can’t comment. It was very busy so a little wait was needed to be served but not such that we had to chase. If we are in the area again, we will call in for lunch I’m sure.

Only a small garden centre, but some lovely items there and worth a visit. We had lunch too and we were so spoilt for choice. All the food looked delicious and fresh Tasted even better. Staff were friendly and efficient, restaurant kept spotless. Definitely worth a visit, we will be back.

Our daughter treated her Mom and Dad to afternoon tea. The service was good the afternoon tea fantastic.You select your sandwich from the display, It is then quartered and after a short wait delivered to your table in the full glory on a stand holding your sandwich, a scone strawberry jam,clotted cream and mini cakes.And of course a decent pot of tea. I would recommend this afternoon treat, to all.

Popped in for breakfast on the way home at just after 10am. Ordered at 10.20 still waiting for it to arrive at 10.50. The food isn't cooked to order it's under heat lamps so can't understand a half hour wait. We went for a refund in the end and went home and cooked our own instead. Off the list from now on

We have visited here many times but never tried the restaurant, we decided to give it a try & we were not disappointed good service friendly staff & most importantly great food served nice & hot will certainly visit again.

Lovely fresh food and amazing value and that is just the sandwiches/paninis!! The hot options looked just as good. Such a shame we live so far away. The amount of people in here is testament to how good it is and we thoroughly enjoyed our food, prompt service too.

Had a tea and coffee with 2 bacon and egg sandwiches which were SUPERB ! Highly recommended (and we're both fussy foodies !) Really nice café which we shall return to.

Have visited twice in a week for a treat with friends. Staff are very good and always friendly. You can pick sandwiches yourself from counter hand them in then it is all brought out on cake stand. Their is a scone each with jam and cream then a selection of mini cakes. Excellent value at 7.50 each!! If you want to take some home they provide a box. Can't fault it.

Called in on Saturday afternoon after a ride out with friends for coffee and scone. Very impressed Coffee Shop, plenty of room, light and airy. Staff very pleasant and helpful. After being away for nearly 12 months we decided to meet up with friends for breakfast. We were so disappointed we could hardly believe the change, the sausage was so hard and tough, the bacon only just cooked, the black pudding so dry it just crumbled when you tried to eat it and the eggs either hard or very undercooked. We used to meet there every few weeks with friends, will we be going there again I think not it was disgusting.

Since my last review of this venue last July, I haven't been back so thought I would re-visit and see if things have improved.... as you drive into the Garden Centre there is a huge sign for The Potting Shed with a Wifi signal emblem prominently on the banner - this is an essential for me.

This was a Sunday morning trip out, and the need for a drink. We chose the Badger Nursery Cafe. There were a good variety of cakes on offer (we didn’t succumb to the temptation). There were soft chairs and low tables, and the usual standard tables and chairs. As we were only having a drink we chose the soft chairs and low tables. These were near the large picture windows which looked out onto the plant area of the centre.

Popped in for a coffee and cake after work. Lovely garden centre which was completely overhauled recently. Coffee shop was bright and airy, service quick and efficient, and a very tasty Belgian bun.

Good choices of hot and cold food for snacks or lunch. Salad or chips with all sandwiches makes a satisfying meal. Afternoon tea always available. Large bright seating area.

Visit most of the local garden centres to view the Christmas displays, an impressive display of trees, trinkets, and traditional decorations. Thought the train was very good. The shop had a varied stock of christmas gifts, some I found to be a little over priced.

Ate here for Sunday lunch as the place we were going to was closed. The cafe has been refurbished and looks ok so we gave it a try. The Sunday lunch was beef or lamb and we had lamb. It tasted ok but was a very small portion. There was only a few vegetables on offer and the peas were swimming in water and the girl serving preceded to serve quite a bit of water with the peas. The food was average, the service was average. It was disappointing and we wouldn't bother going back. Maybe ok for cake and coffee.

Visited today with a friend for a dual purpose visit. We wanted lunch and a catch up with each other and also needed some gardening products.

It was fairly busy with people dining as well as shopping in the plant areas and other outlets ie garden furniture, stationery, clothes etc. The layout was clean and tidy and had easy access for any disabled customers. There was a wide choice of food available from cooked meals to snacks, and the ham and cheese toasted sandwich I chose came with crisps, coleslaw and salad. This was well presented and was very tasty, and can be recommended for those visitors not wishing to have the full cooked meal option.

I have always been a fan of this garden centre due to the quality of their plants. The restaurant area was refurbished about year or so ago, I have had a quick coffee here before but never breakfast so when my husband suggested we try it, we were not disappointed, we were just going for a bacon sandwich but that changed as soon as we saw the cooked breakfast selection, there was a choice of either a five or eight piece cooked breakfast, we went for eight pieces as felt you'd get a bit of everything, little did we realise and the member of staff did not really explain that you get two of everything! All of it cooked perfectly, nothing greasy, very nice bacon, sausages, eggs, tomatoes, hash browns and more! You order at the counter and take any drinks to your table yourself, you are then given a table number and very promptly breakfast arrives. The staff were friendly, it was busy and a que did start to form, but no dramas) the breakfast actually worked out better value than a bacon sandwich. There was also a good selection of hot and cold drinks as well. Clearly very popular with locals. Then after a good breakfast you can have a nice walk round the garden centre. Think we might make this a monthly treat, we will be back for another breakfast very soon.

Called in after visiting the garden centre. Lovely, clean restaurant with plenty of space between the tables and ample room for the wheelchair. Very reasonably priced cappuccinos which were served promptly and with the nice addition of a biscuit.

A family Sunday lunch visit, with quick trip around the garden centre. It has recently been all refurbished, looks great. Sunday lunchtime I had roast beef was delicious with a bottle of cool beer. Very good value and lovely staff. Will return.

As we were passing at 9am this morning, we decided to pop in and try the breakfast. You can choose from a 5 item breakfast for about five pounds, or an 8 item one for a little more. The lady serving pointed out that for most items, you get two of them, so we both opted for the 5 items and got 2 sausages, 2 hash browns, bacon, black pudding and mushrooms, along with toast. I don't think I could have finished the 8 item breakfast as this filled me up very well! I am sure we will be back next time we pass!

We just had a nightmare on the M42 and on the way back we were pretty hungry, so I came off on the A435 looking for somewhere to eat. I would usually avoid Garden Centre cafes because they tend to be a rip-off but we needed to stop and we are so glad we did. We had sandwiches that came with a self-service salad selection and a socking great slice of cake. A pot of tea for two came to £3.00 and we got three cups each. When I paid I questioned the bill because it was so low. The place is very clean and comfortable and even on the hottest day this year and a Sunday, it was relatively quiet. We will be back.

restaurant was fairly quiet as it was a Wednesday 11:00AM, staff very friendly, food served piping hot and wide range to choose from. Hash browns were a little soggy as they had been under the light for a while but still enjoyed everything.

I was told that the nursery had had a major refit. So took my elderly mother for a look round. She's on a mobility scooter so it was a great pleasure to see more than the normal few disability parking spaces. The car park was relatively flat and smooth tarmac. The shop was great nice bright and plenty of space for mom to get around. We decided to have a bite to eat. The cafe was bright and the food looked really good. We had a panini each. Very friendly staff took our drink order and the paninis to be toasted. They arrived very quickly and we were amazed and surprised to find the came with a small side salad, coleslaw and a bowl of crisps. Will be going back again.

I have eaten here twice now and been very impressed both times. There is a decent range of food available, from soups and sandwiches to several specials every day. I have had specials on both occasions, which come with a hefty selection of accompaniments. A plastic cover is put over your food whilst you pay, which is a nice idea, and the people always seem to be friendly and cheerful.

Great garden centre!! Restaurant not good value for money oops! Dish of the day macaroni cheese over £8.00 Would be nice to see local produce being used. More freshly cooked goods ie muffins, flapjacks, cake of the day, also a freshly baked breads. Also the side salad on the banquettes Something different I'll leave that in you're capable hands thanks.

I visited this garden centre's new eatery called The Gardener on 10 July. It's lovely - spacious, nicely furnished, also with sofas. Great food - fresh, homemade, tasty and satisfying. All at a value for money price. Nice friendly staff. Their shop selling all sorts of food goodies and gifts is also great. Highly recommended.

Beautiful new large coffee shop in garden centre complex. Really light and spacious, lovely pine furniture and also sofas. Ideal lunch venue. Very clean and fresh, food lovely reasonable variety of sandwiches served with chips or salad. Cooked meals -specials menu 3 or 4.
