We had a lovely meal my wife and I. It was our wedding anniversary and decided on a lunchtime meal. We shared a starter and a main each, then shared the most scrumptious dessert honeycomb cheesecake with ice cream. The staff that served us were excellent, and attentive to our needs. We were served by Meg and Lee. Really nice guys. It was our first time at this restaurant and we will certainly be back... excellent throughout.

I visited with my granddaughter last night. We were due to go to the playhouse and were really short on time, the lady who served us could not have been more helpful. She put a rush on our orders and happily settled the bill half way through our main courses. She was so friendly chatting to my granddaughter about the play - credit to Zizzi

I love this Zizis. I always come here when I want a guaranteed great meal. The food is always fantastic and the service was brilliant. I was served by a really nice girl and the manager - they were both fantastic and couldn’t be more helpful. Really nice to have such great service and great food despite it being a busy lunch time.

The food is amazing, easily one of the best in the area, in general, not just Italian. Two of us buying from the 3 course menu and a drink each put us at £70, money well spent. You can see the people in the kitchen making your food which is something I personally like. The waiting staff are always accommodating (my girlfriend is a fussy eater) and have I mentioned how good the food is? Get the garlic bombe starter it's divine!

Didn't ask if we had reservation on arrival . We had reserved and had special requests. Just taken straight to a table. QRcode to order wouldn't work on any of our phones had to wait ages to order food and drinks. Garlic bread lovely. Pasta dishes bland and very basic. Pizza fresh and light though. Desserts a good choice. Drinks good too. Convenience over substance. Waitress that served us has been there years always friendly helpful and polite.

It was ok for lunch. Bog standard “Italian” restaurant with a festive twist. Portions not fabulous but ok. Service was ok once we got seated, stood waiting to be seated - for context no one else was waiting, not many diners and a lot of staff. Food arrived promptly. Atmosphere was lacking.

As a vegetarian I was very pleased to see such an extensive variety of options. Food was delicious, and the service from Hannah was fabulous, polite, very friendly and gave some great advice on menu and wine choices. Will definitely be back x

We visited Zizzi in the evening on Christmas Eve, which overall was a positive experience and reasonable value for the 3 course Christmas Set Menu. The staff were very friendly and accommodating considering we brought a relatively young child on this occasion. The restaurant was also quite spacious. The pictures include Chicken Calabrese, Beef Short Rib Calzone, Chocolate Brownie and Baked Lemon & Blackcurrant Cheesecake. Therefore, I would recommend based upon this specific night.

We had a lovely experience at Zizzi, Birstall. The staff were friendly, the food was lovely and the service was excellent. Our server was great and he was really helpful with helping us work out how to use vouchers that we had through the Zizzi app.

We come here every few months, but this time all I want to say is Thank You Lily!!! As soon as we came in, this girl done her best to look after us. She got snacks straight way for our little boy, she interacted with him in such a lovely way, that he couldn’t take his eyes off her the whole time. Food was nice with lots of choice. Salmon risotto was gloopy but tasty. Drinks are pricey. Service was very friendly.

I had an evening meal by myself after a day off, nice and chill. Food was good as usually, especially the pigs in blankets bomb! Special shoutout to Meg who was friendly, welcoming, warm, knew all the products inside out and was attentive. As an aside she also happened to be setting up Christmas decorations and table arrangements, sitting down visualising the customer perspective, it was quite a considered effort as opposed to just hanging things up etc. I trust this review is recognised as appropriate by management, being a programme manager in an engineering firm, Meg’s approach when nobody is looking is the sort of individual you invest in and pull up the ranks into operations to retain the culture / mission statement at the top levels.

The food here is great, good portions well flavoured and a quick service, been twice and can't wait for our next visit 😁

Here is the timeline of my meal here at Zizi's: 6:00 PM: Told we were going to be served and that the table (or allegedly food) was going to be 45 mins) 6:10PM Sat down after complaining to the manager after miscommunications of the waiter and ordered drinks (and they were alright) however they were ordered twice. 6:20PM: Ordered food, sat and chatted. However received pasta crisps which i thought was nice however instead of receiving pasta crisps we got, pasta crumbs. ( will ad photo of them) 6:50PM After talking for a while this is where things went wrong for the restaurant. My sister was given her kids main meal and she hadn't got her starter of which was raw bread with carrot sticks. Plus they delivered my food and the rest of my family's and received of what i thought was the smallest portions one could receive. Also been given my dinner as it was slammed on the table. (no offering of cheese) 7:20PM The meal was really lovely enjoyed it although we had now began to think they had treated us unfairly because of the complaint we made to the manager about having the miscommunications. However when looking at my sister's meal i was really surprised to have found what looked like the skin of a prawn IN SWEET POTATOE FRIES. i mean come on your begging for this review to be written. 7:30PM: My sister got here desert plates were taken away and thankfully we had a voucher from a birthday and i am glad because i would certainly have not paid that bill if i had been treated as if they wanted me to go home. Heck the waiter didn't look like she even wanted to be there so i don't blame her. if you want a nice italian PLEASE FOR YOUR OWN SAKE AVOID THIS ZIZIS

A special mention to Ellie & Hannah for a a beautiful experience, and great service 10/10 would recommend.

Enjoyed the mushroom o toast starter, the beef and venison dish for main and the cheesecake for dessert. My companion had the salmon and avocado salad. The first avocado which came was inedible due to being not ripened but the staff fixed this very quickly. The cheesecake was a little sweet for my liking.

Food was lovely, service was good but the place was filthy especially the toilets, sinks and flooring leading up to. Blocked filthy sinks, and not with daily grime, long standing ingrained dirt. Floors that have clearly not been cleaned in weeks. Glad they work with open kitchens as otherwise the standard cleaning would be a major concern. Not to mention their complete lack of COSHH awareness, with acidic toilet cleaner just laying around.

Everything about Zizzi’s is great except one thing, the time it all takes. While I appreciate going for dinner shouldn’t be rushed and the longer it takes sees most people buy another round of drinks, which I totally understand from a commercial model point, but the time this all takes just moves it from a nice meal to a really long wait. It took us over two hours this evening for starters and mains with no desserts, as we timed out for getting the kids home and ready for bed. All in all it is just a little too long and while we love a Zizzis we struggle to keep kids entertained for that long and we couldn’t see anything complex about our order that would have warranted the extra wait time. A slightly quicker service would be really welcomed and allow time for dessert. Staff are all very nice and also adding that the restaurant wasn’t very busy either so we can’t put it down to demand and a second drinks order we asked for didn’t appear anyway, but we just called for the bill rather than asking a second time again due to time. A mid week dinner at Zizzis isn’t possible now due to the timings, which is a massive shame for us as a family as everything is else is spot on.

Went for an early dinner. Was quiet-ish started off with awkward questions when said gluten free. 'Do you have an allergy or is it choice'. Explanation of coeliac in family so avoidance and ceoliac is also not an allergy its autoimmune disease. Seated and given the only gf folder in the whole restaurant that wasn't easy to navigate. Drinks were great. Daughter got a mocktail which was to die for. Starters came and were delicious. Then waited a good half hour afyer finishing startes to be brought our mains before the table had been cleared for space. Portion sizes were large so asked for takeaway which tubs were provide. After waiting another half hour asked a member of staff for dessert to be taken away. Another 20 minutes and they were brought to the table on plates. So had to uncomfortably repeat that we would like them to take away as we were needing to leave. I would recommend going at a very quiet time as when the restaurant got busy we were left waiting a ridiculous amount of time. Food good. Service not so great.
