We went today at 9am for breakfast as we’d had such a lovely meal a few months ago and were very excited to go after a sunrise walk through Bradgate. We all had poached eggs in some form and not one was runny which to me is the whole premise of a poached egg. The ham was delicious in my eggs Benedict but we were all very disappointed and frankly annoyed we’d paid someone to cook eggs who clearly couldn’t. We didn’t get a smile when the drinks were served or the food and no one came to check if it was any good. Hopefully the fact that the plates had all the eggs still on there might have given a hint. We won’t be back any time soon.

Absolutely, the best food I’ve ever eaten in my life. Linda knows what a man wants. Brilliantly cooked breakfast goods.

Stunning food and service. We had booked for my Dads birthday lunch, as it was Xmas eve we knew it would be busy but the service was impeccable. A young lady served us with a smile the whole time, she always had our best interests, she was patient as there was 13 of us. Food was amazing (even though the pub was busy!) We’ll definitely be back soon in 2025.. We all had a great time, thank you for your super hospitality.. merry Christmas! X

Our first order was spot on - generous topping on the pizza, delivered within the time stated. Second order was just for one person - same as the first order, could not fault it. However, a couple of nights ago we ordered the usual...and were not that impressed. The driver failed to bring a bottle of coke which was part of the package, the topping was almost void of pepperoni on both pizzas and the garlic bread was burnt. The fries were fine but I'd thought given how expensive their prices are I thought the quality would have been consistent. Have only been a customer for about a month and the service has taken a nose dive. Shame really. Will be going elsewhere in the future.

After a walk at Bradgate Park we chose to stop in here for brunch. We checked the menu outside and were surprised to find that the prices inside had been inflated quite considerably. Did they forget to change the menu outside? I think probably not. After waiting for a table we then sat down on a dirty table to order, waited half an hour for our food, which then came out lukewarm at best and really quite underwhelming. £70 for 3 breakfasts, 3 drinks and pancakes is certainly steep I'd say, but when it is such poor quality I'm not sure how this place gets the reviews it does.

Waited 25 minutes for a couple of coffees and cake. staff all seemed very stressed and hostile. Order was incorrect when it arrived, just overall an unpleasant experience

A group of us booked for lunch and ordered in advance. The staff were very pleasant and helpful , service was good as was the food with a choice of portion size for some dishes. My meal was missing peas but this was quickly rectified. The cakes looked delicate and tyere was one desert and ice-cream om offer yoo. The tea rooms are warm which was good as the weather outside was awful. There is outside seating for good weather days. There are a few charity shops on site and walks in the grounds, weather permitting and a model railway open on Wednesdays and Fridays. Definitely worth a visit.

Very nice and cosy atmosphere, what an english pub should look like. But we've had to eat with our coat on, not what you're expecting from an English pub. We came here on purpose to eat in this kind of environment and for the food offer but we've been left a bit disappointed, 40minutes journey. Book a table for 12pm, opening time, already 2, out of 4 meat options, weren't available, menu offer for lunch time, very small and not very in line with the time of the year (Christmas time), I was expecting a more festive menu, off course my preference!!! I'm afraid we won't go back there again.

My husband and I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone at the wheatsheaf for making our day so special. We got married on the 20th September and hired the room upstairs for a big table of 20 and had our wedding meal here. The pub has such a lovely welcoming feel and the staff and food are amazing. Everyone is so accommodating and service fantastic! We definitely will be returning. Highly recommended. Thank you again to you all. Mr & Mrs Marshall
