Staff are always really friendly and helpful. As with any subway, there is a lot to choose from. They keep the areas clean and tidy which I like.

Absolutely lovely place stayed 2 nights food is lovely..staff very welcoming ...sat talking to the locals in the bar with a real fire..its January but the pub is nice and busy definitely will come back

Great place to dine and grab a drink would highly recommend. Friendly staff and even made me my own pizza even though it wasn't on the menu ☺️

You can't go far wrong in visiting The Tor Cafe if you want a really good quality cooked breakfast at a bargain price. The staff are friendly and hard working, the breakfast options are many and varied and of a great standard. All this in a lovely quirky venue.

This is a fantastic Sri Lankan restaurant serving authentic Sri Lankan dishes in Peak District. Born in Sri Lanka, I know an authentic dish when I taste one! The pepper pork, casava, koththu and everything we ate was simply awesome!!! The staff was super-efficient and very friendly - tried to cater to everything we wanted including kids!! Can’t wait to go again and highly recommend!!

A Hidden Gem in Matlock A delightful pub in Matlock, just outside the centre, but well worth seeking out. The food (steak and ale pie) was incredible and home-cooked, featuring a fantastic selection of beers and a lovely log fire. The landlord and landlady were charming, eager to engage in conversation yet also respectful of our space. This is a pub I cannot recommend highly enough. I shall return for their fine beer. Three are not enough stars to do this pub justice.

My wife and I had stayed for the weekend in Matlock. We were told about the restaurant and thought we would go in to see if we could eat without booking. They managed to seat us straight away. The food was lovely, we had five different dishes and the portions were more than enough for two people.

Went on Sunday 5th Jan was the worst roast dinner we have ever had barely warm and the veg was so bad it must have been leftovers from Christmas dinners. Who puts pigs in blankets & stuffing balls with roast Lamb. Christmas leftovers. The young girl behind the bar didn't want to be there. Will not be going back

Whenever I am in Matlock for the day I like to come here, especially in Winter. It is a proper pub with cask ale, wood burners and low beamed ceilings. If you're seeking refuge from the wet and cold, there is no better place to be. It's warm, cosy and comfortable, and the owners have always been kind and friendly. In summer there is a garden out front with a few benches and a wonderful view into the valley.

Great service and choice of food .One of us is gluten intolerant the chef discussed what they could have food was excellent for us both. They had great choice of drinks too .

Disappointing. No hot dinners being served. Nice panini but service not great. This used to be quite a reliable place for a decent lunch/dinner but nowadays not so much.
