The best restaurants in West Hallam and Dale Abbey Erewash East Midlands

Don't know why it's taken so long to go there and that is my loss. Yhey the best pizzas I have ever eaten. Delivered on time as well. I would give it more stars if I could. Whatever you do, don't go anywhere else.

Lovely relaxed place to have lunch. Food and service was excellent with very friendly staff who are very accommodating.

Dropped in when visiting Ilkeston- had a lovely pork and stuffing cob- good value and filling. Friendly staff who were very patient and understanding with a vulnerable customer.

Been to the cafe before a couple of weeks ago for cake and coffee and it was ok. Went back today , the service was shocking , we were ignored for quite a while by the tall young girl who obviously thought cleaning tables was more important than serving customers. She seemed reluctant to serve us or to smile a welcome. We won't be back

Long wait for food and wasn't told about this until i asked...40 mins later. Steaks overcooked (medium and med rare) and dry. Under par service today

Waiting for ages, to be offered a table and while it had been cleaned, a rude and disrespectful female gave the table to someone else. When challenged the body language and way in which the member of staff spoke to quite simply she didn't care. '' OK to wait if you want ' no, idea how long you will be waiting tho.. This isn't the first time we have experienced this type of device there and I totally regret the wasted time and effects with my sick wife giving your poor excuse for a cafe another chance. Following the repeated returning of cold food and extra hair in the dishes.

It was a very good cup of latte coffee,and good food,in a good atmosphere and totally enjoyed the occasion with my family

I voted for cod’s scallops to be best in Britain Jamie’s Chipy has come in my view a close second very good amounts of food for the money. If you have never been well worth the trip out.

The Carpenters Arms, Dale Abbey: A Perfect Finish to a Country Walk After a lovely walk around Dale Abbey, we stumbled upon The Carpenters Arms and couldn't have asked for a better way to finish the day. This charming pub provided delicious food, a fantastic selection of beers, and top-notch service. Food: I ordered the blue steak, and it was absolutely perfect. Cooked exactly to my liking, the steak was tender and flavorful, and the accompanying salad was fresh and crunchy. Everyone else in our group were equally impressed with their meals, with Sunday roast chicken being the next favourite. Drinks: The Carpenters Arms boasts a great selection of beers, with something to suit every taste. Service: The service was friendly and efficient, with the staff making us feel welcome from the moment we stepped inside. Atmosphere: The pub itself has a cosy and traditional atmosphere, making it the perfect place to relax after a long walk. Overall: The Carpenters Arms is a fantastic pub in a beautiful location. Always busy here and that's because it's great. Friendly staff, great service and great food

Fatty ribs- hardly any meat. Hardly any peanut flavour in the satay. All the other dishes ok. Avoid the ribs!! Oh and, duck cooked yes, but only just so very chewy fat. Not my thing, but maybe suits most ok. But urm, no, not the ribs!!!!

Ordered take-out, part of the order was missing. Called the restaurant, who told me missing items could be sent "now" as delivery guy was there at the restaurant. Great. Premises is approx. 2min drive from home. So, we wait, as the delivered food goes cold, because it'll be here in a few minutes, right? Wrong. 25 minutes. On a Sunday evening. Curry and sides now stone cold. No option to file a complaint through website. Meal ruined. Really, really disappointed.

The Bottlekiln is a rare find - homemade quality food, good staff, a nice environment and you can buy lovely things in the two shops there. I love the afternoon tea, I think it’s great value. The lemon meringue pie is really deep and lovely, a ‘must have’ there. We always have the quiche and salad and I must say this time there was no coleslaw with it which we were disappointed about.

Lovely visit. It was Sunday lunch and very busy but nothing was too much trouble. A member of staff was even called to help one of the elderly members of our group carry his carvery back to the table. Food was hot and fresh. A great meal and friendly staff. Thank you.

Loved it tonight. Sat with a friend, amazing staff and amazing beer! Had a great night with no issues at all. Plenty more nights to come!
