The best restaurants in Hertford Bengeo East Hertfordshire East of England

I've worked with Tig at various street food events. He's a lovely bloke but more importantly his food is a staple for me at food events never let down, always fresh good portions sizes. Amazing!

So we decided to take advantage of the Father's Day Paella and Champagne special deal on Groupon and what a great deal it was. Eavesy's plaice has a very chilled vibe almost like just hanging out in your own back garden. The outdoor bar and kitchen are great and it was a pleasure to watch chef Jamie at work cooking up a banging paella whilst the co owner Sarah always made sure your champagne glass was never empty. The children's entertainment zone was amazing with the big screen playing number blocks and other cbeebies classics whilst being supplied with an endless feast of fruit kebabs and rocket lollies. Overall a great experience and will definitely be back

I have been here countless times and it continues to impress. Really highly recommend a visit. My absolute favourite food in Hertford, great atmosphere in a quirky restaurant and the staff are really nice and helpful too!

The mushroom starter was pleasant and the soup was fine. The Xmas dinner was disappointing. Not much of it - sliced parsnips and carrots very meagre. The gravy was very salty. The beef rib gravy was also salty. Cheesecake was so sweet none of the party wanted it. A service charge automaticity added though I’ve since read it is voluntary. Last years Xmas meal was delicious, that’s why we returned. This year, sorry, not so much.

Sam made our experience very special and loved his attentiveness and upgrading our part of 16 to a private room upstairs. Lovely food with massive portions. Lovely night thank you Sam and the rest of the team 💙

now, we didnt see any white lions but absolutely loved the building, THE STAFF WERE INCREDIBLE and made us feel so comfortable. WE EVEN had a RAVE in the garden!!!!

Amazing and friendly customer service. The manager felt so warm and welcoming. I’ve been here on multiple occasions, the first time wasn’t sure what to get but the owner recommended me a piña colada tea and it was delicious! All the staff were so lovely too.

Lovely and beautiful place, but mulled wine is an absolute slap in the face. It is just a hot juice with some orange scent. £7.50 per glass. Quite disrespectful to a customer.
