The best restaurants in Elton and Folksworth Huntingdonshire East of England

Beautiful lodge in a peaceful surrounding.We stayed for a week in The Florence lodge.The lodge itself had everything you needed. The hot tub wasn’t quite hot enough so messaged the Elton Furze team. Lisa messaged back straight away and came to have a look. She explained the temperature is always set at 38 degrees but turned it up 39 degrees. This was better but it did soon cool down. We did not let this impact our break at all. Visited lots of surrounding villages and towns and ventured into Peterborough. Would highly recommend staying at Elton Furze and would definitely come back.

Proper pub, lovely landlady, cheerful locals. Ivy clad on outside, oak beams inside with a lovely beer garden. No craft ales, thankfully, just proper beers that ordinary people want

We have eaten here before and had a great experience. We came for a birthday celebration as a table of 10 and did a pre order. We had a drinks order taken and food arrived shortly after at 6pm which was great. We were not then offered another drink for the rest of the meal despite taking our plates away and bringing desserts. When one of our party asked the female staff member for some more drinks, he was told to go to the bar to order despite us being a table of 10 and sat at a table which I thought was rude. He said we have a few drinks to order and she said she would come back shortly, she then proceeded to stand around drinking red bull. At this point we no longer wanted to purchase a drink here it had been 5 minutes and still no drinks order taken. Our bill was £283 so you’d think we’d have been offered a better service. We had to ask for the bill and had to go to the bar ourselves to pay the bill. Table service was non existent after our pre ordered puddings were bought out. Very disappointed. Also wouldn’t recommend the biscoff cheesecake it was awful and the texture was definitely not that of a cheesecake more like a rubbery mousse

Visited Today, Saturday 28th, 7 adults & a cockapoo, Christmas treat for the family, wonderful meal in a lovely pub, staff brilliant, food as always, amazing ! Thoroughly recommend this place

Breakfast was very greasy, sausage and mushrooms were over cooked and could tell they were fried, beans were watery and had no flavour, been coming for breakfast for years and this is the first time I had to say something negative.

This was our first visit to The Crown and it was first class from the moment we arrived. The bar are and dining conservatory were beautifully decorated and the ambiance fantastic. Our food was tasty, excellently presented and just magical to eat. Strongly recommend this pub - it’s a real gem

Don’t know the values of stamps, had the correct value but charged me extra and told me I was wrong. Second class stamps are 85p not 80p.

Very good space to eat, simple, inexpensive and good quality cuisine. The staff is friendly. Perfect for a break on the road

Have eaten here in the past and enjoyed it but the last two times we've attempted to eat here we've walked away empty handed. The last time we were sat down and subsequently ignored and the time before that we weren't even acknowledged even tho the place was nigh on empty. We've given up on them now, as you walk out there's a Chopstix which is cheaper, tasty and they don't play hide and seek with you.

Fuimos el domingo a una cena asada, la última que tuvimos fue tan buena que volvimos y una vez más fue perfecta, carne muy tierna, mucha verdura y un pudín de Yorkshire del que el chef debería estar orgulloso. Nuestra servidora (Diane creo) que era tan encantadora y burbujeante, nos hizo sentir tan bienvenidos, solo pocas críticas son las sillas, necesitan actualizar ya que se hunden tan bajo cuando te sientas, soy corto de todos modos así que podría haber hecho con un cojín elevador jaja 😄

Now reopened (Under new management?) with new furniture and a return to the quality and welcome of the past. When originally opened, the cafe offered a lovely "family feel" with excellent service and quality. The cafe had slumped badly in the quality of the experience in recent years, after a change of owners, and my previous visit had been quite unpleasant, so it was VERY refreshing to find a smiling welcome, rapid service and excellent coffee. The new tables are perhaps less rustic than the previous versions, which has lost a little of the atmosphere, but the cafe is scrupulously clean and retains the previous layout. The seating area is quite small and if you are planning to lunch there I would say that booking is essential. It does get very busy at times. The food is reasonably priced, though not "cheap" and the quality was excellent. Attention to detail has made a huge difference to the offering and it is clear that the bad memory of the past has been banished.

Excellent customer services and very knowledgeable ladies behind the counter. Opening times are different (photo attached). Not the busiest of units there as people follow the herd to the big chains. But this kept me going long than a burger from the big name chain there would’ve.

My partner just wanted a cup of tea in a cup. Plenty different food & drinks places with a central seating. Nice clean toilets with a shower area too.
