Just celebrated my mum's birthday, surprised her with going to the grove lounges for sushi. Absolutely outdid my expectations, had incredible service from Rehan with lovely chats and speedy service. Loved the birthday surprise they got for my mum and drank delicious cocktails in the bar afterwards. Cannot wait to go again one day

I had booked lunch in the Lounges for my partners birthday. The booking was made 7 days in advance and confirmed by email. The Grove called to confirm the booking the day before, and confirmed we wanted Sushi, not Afternoon Tea. They also sent an email to confirm again the morning of the booking. They mentioned nothing of not being able to sit in the Lounges on any of the confirmations. On arrival we were told they had overbooked, and The Lounges were now only for Afternoon Tea and we could go to the bar if we wanted. The Bar had business people on laptops and children running round, not the setting you want for a birthday lunch. Its disappointing that they overbook, but also that they didn't mention this when they confirmed the booking so we could change our plans. Clearly money over service and we won't be returning.

Yes, location is great, but I was lied to about my main! I asked if the curry I fancied trying for my main was chicken breast meat, telling the waiter that I don't like thigh meat. He checked with the chef and assured me that it would be made of chicken breast. When it was served, it clearly was thigh. Very clearly. It was as if the chef had tried to pick the bits of thigh meat that most resembled breast and served me that. I didn't make a major fuss at the time as we were with another couple, but this was our third visit to Madhu's. We won't be going back. Madhu's simply isn't worth the extra high prices they charge when compared to somewhere like Cinnamon Lodge in Abbotts Langley (which is consistently fantastic btw), or London's finest Indian restaurants such as as Amaya in Belgravia, Bombay Bustle or Darjeeling Express. Madhu's starters are decent, especially the prawns (albeit you flipping well pay for them), but their mains are somewhat average. Oh, and they didn't offer to take our coats when we walked in, despite there being numerous staff loitering around the entrance. I've read elsewhere that is a red flag when a restaurant sells itself as 'high end'.

very small selection and not very tasty - the items advertised aren’t even there even on a Friday night. There was no beef wellington, no lobster, Indian section was like 2 items, Italian only had 2 types of pizza, roast was very dry and my shish was actually raw. service was very good however for £88 how can they be serving a buffet of such low quality. 2 people can eat much better food elsewhere.

It is a perfect place for important events and celebrations. The Stables have bar and dining areas. Nicely decorated. The staff is very friendly. Monika, who served our table is very cheerful and helpful. The food is very good with 5-star hotel standard. Even their sourdough is served warm and yummy.

We were stuck in traffic on the M25 which was going to get worse so we headed off to find a pub and discovered this lovely place. Very friendly welcome when we came in. Lovely beer on tap (Badger brewery - fursty ferrit), very well kept. The food was great, we had the pie of the day, which was Steak and kidney and I had the Classic Burger. was a little pricey, but food was of good quality. Service was prompt and friendly. We will definitely go again when we are passing.
