Another visit to our favourite restaurant in Clitheroe. The food was beautiful I had the Herb roasted Lancashire chicken and my husband had the locally sourced steak (pics attached!). Both perfectly cooked, the Albufera sauce and confit garlic on the chicken was particularly special. This was then topped off by the indulgent banana parfait and apple and berry frangipane tart - extremely delicious! Service was warm and friendly as always and atmosphere the perfect cosy retreat to enjoy your meal in. Thank you Toms and look forward to coming again soon! Xxx

We visited the cafe this Sunday. We checked the google timings before we set off. Timings were from 10.00 to 4.00pm. Reached there by 2.00pm and surprisingly the cafe was closed. Extremely disappointed. The timings on the entrance said the same time for Sunday. We were more annoyed as we drove almost an hour to reach Skipton. Won’t be going again.

Well made cocktails can be found at The Dispensary, so good we stopped for a 2nd. We sat in the room towards the back, there is an upstairs area as well. Friendly staff and clientele. Well worth a visit.

Slightly disappointed really as was previously advised that Francesco Clitheroe was sublime, so to give it a try to treat myself and partner to a takeaway, we ordered online at around 6pm for it to arrive after chasing twice at 7.45pm was slightly unacceptable but was hoping with the reputation that with the feedback i previously received how phenomenal the food was, was slightly disappointing due to the order not only being 1 hour 45 mins late, but being quite cold as well, we called the first time for us to be told it was leaving the door, followed by 35 minutes later calling again being told it is on its way. Very disappointing and also sad to say i don't think i will be going back to try again! Not even a discount offered for the late delivery!

Came for lunch with my partner and daughter. Staff barely said a word so we sat ourselves down, ordered our food which came in good time, though was very poor. We had pizza, garlic bread and fish gougons. Very sloppy pizza and tasteless fish. Nice location and interior but wouldn’t go again or recommend

My family of 6 decided it would be nice to meet up for lunch and chose The Pavilion as our venue. We arrived at 12:30 and there were a couple of tables of people in front of us. It was drizzling with rain and you have to queue outdoors, so not the best start. When it was our turn we were told all the tables for 6 were full. We asked is there a waiting list to which we were told no - you just have to wait or come back. As it was raining we asked when we should come back (as we thought a look around Shackleton would be nice) we were told an hour. So at 1:30 we went back and queue again to be told all the tables for 6 had filled again. So we asked can we get a table for 4 and a table for 2. We queued again and long story short - eventually around 2pm were allowed in the cafe and they put two tables together for us. Drinks order taken - great. Food order taken great (or so we thought). After about 45 minutes we were approached and told the tablet the order was taken on, had not sent it through to the kitchen!!!! Not so great! The order was then taken using good old paper and pen. To be fair we were given a complimentary round of drinks and our order was then prioritised and arrived within a reasonable timescale, given we all had something different to eat. Now on a very positive note the food and presentation was excellent. Good size portions, well cooked and very tasty. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Once seated we were looked after by Andrea who quite honestly saved the day, she was very much customer focused and was a people person who wanted to give a good service. This was a complete contrast to the person who was managing the door and table allocation, who was quite abrupt and gave the impression that nothing was their fault and they could do no wrong. In summary, we can highly recommend the food but the system to getting to a table on a wet day just does not work. We all thought the Pavilion needs to rethink their waiting procedures. Invest in Restaurant Pagers and make a name list for tables or at least make a name list (not bothered they dont take actual bookings as I am sure people would let them down) but if you have arrived and are around and about it’s highly likely you really do want a table. Maybe even a tannoy system with a number being called when a table becomes available. I think they are also missing a trick, as if people had pagers or there was a tannoy then customers might go and brows around Shackletons and as a result some people might make spur of the moment purchases too. We also noted there were a number of elderly people queuing who were struggling to stand for such a long time and in the rain. We appreciate it was busy and they can’t control the weather, but with a little more thought and a slight adjustment here and there, our visit could have been be a much better experience.
