The food in this cafe is delicious. Soup was home cooked, wholesome and so tasty. The owner / chef went the extra mile for me as I am on a diet to produced a bacon/ egg salad which was fabulous 👌 Ingredients were varied, fresh and presented beautifully. This cafe was a real gem and definitely worth the visit . Thank you for great experience.

I have used so many bakery’s over the years and Frankies bakery’s is by far the best. Wow her brownies and blondies are so gooey, if you go I highly recommend the Jamie blondie it’s my favourite and will be yours once try it. her attention to detail is amazing. Always goes out of her way to make my orders perfect. Thank you frankies

We enjoyed a Sunday lunch today which was excellent, although my wife complained hers was a bit cold. The roast beef was cooked to perfection being slightly pink. My wife's ham was also very good. The home made apple crumble with cinnamon was a highlight for me. The staff were friendly and efficient.

Beware if you are a COELIAC This place says its chips are cooked in a separate fryer which they may well be. However I ate six “ gluten free” chips and two hours later bloating and nausea. Still with me the day after. There must have been gluten contamination somewhere - all it needs is a hand, an implement, ANYTHING to have been contaminated with just a tiny speck of gluten to cause a reaction ( vomiting diarrhoea severe pain dizziness for up to a week) At least it didn’t make me sick this time. Every hotel cafe restaurant in the country should be trained in gluten intolerance/ coeliac. Actually not an intolerance but a serious auto immune disease which can cause hospital admission. We won’t be going back needless to say.

Called in for a coffee and snack after our frequent walk along the bay and round back into Arnside. When this first opened I was a little wary as we are used to small intimate tea/coffee shops in Arnside. However this was our second visit and as we entered we were greeted by obviously the front of house guy “David”. Wow does this guy know how to do it Welcoming ,friendly, Northern (always a bonus). Had a lovely coffee and Hubby had a great crisp bacon bun. The vibe in this cafe/restaurant is great., modern but great service. We live quite locally and are encouraged to go in the evening now as well. In our opinion the best restaurants are always about the front of house and Crossfields has it right. Everyone in this place has a great view of our beautiful Morecambe bay.

well again, finally finding this place open at the 4th attempt was a relief. Nice coffee and pleasant couple who run it. great location next to the train station, so if you're waiting for a train and if it's open! then worth popping in.

I’ve been coming for years but it’s gone down hill. Ordered some mulled wine and a milkshake and some cake. Cakes were ok but milkshake was absolutely ridiculous at £4.50. It was so small, tasty but very poor value. The mulled wine was the worst I have ever tasted , it came to the table but was cold and so asked them to warmed it up. It came back boiling and unable to drink for ages- no garnish or anything not even a bit of orange but would not have helped it was all cloudy so we left it. Felt complete ripped off.

Whilst walking in Arnside we decided to call into The Wagtail for a latte. The owner served us at our table and was very friendly ,our coffee was lovely. On leaving I bought a freshly baked Beef n Potato pasty to take home. Served at home with some mushy peas,I can honestly say it was one of the best pasties ive ever had. Plenty of large pieces of beef with chunks of potato in a well made pastry. It tasted fantastic. I believe that you can have the pies delivered to your home, frozen and ready for the oven. Would I return ... Yes definately.

So disappointed in this visit today, after a first visit few weeks ago which was lovely. we rebooked to bring the family first time we was dealt with by Antony he was a fabulous bloke helpful and we explained we had one guest with food issues and that when we come he would be happy with a chicken breast with bacon and cheese he confirmed that wouldn’t be a problem so when we arrived for our booking with the family and ordered it this was a huge issue and told That they couldn’t go off menu after explaining it had been ok’d by Anthony we was told he had no right to ok it that he wasn’t in charge of the kitchen ( he actually is the manager of the restaurant though) he was a pleasure to have dealt with but tonight the staff were rude and told us we had 5 minutes to decide our order and then told Us to stop swearing at the staff which did not happen, they clearly couldn’t not be bothered doing their jobs seen as the manager was off, they lost all control Of their professionalism and let their restaurant Down massively. I suggest they retrain 2 of their staff that let the place down.
