Beautiful location, nicely set out, food is great

We visited 9 January 25. The room in the mansion was nice however the heating pipes were so noisy I had problems sleeping. The room was cold and I have to request an additional heater. The staff are just lovely and obliging. The restaurant nearest to the mansion was nice, again cold, had yo eat dinner in my coat and don't even get me started on the 'discretionary ' service charge of 10 % for 2 diners. I find this infuriating, don't they get paid? We have a national minimum wage, just why? No other area are you expected to tip. Do you tip at the supermarket because they are nice? NO. The girl brazenly came over with the card reader and the tip added to the bill without asking and full of assumptions. I wish we didn't pay, but this is what they count on, that you'll feel embarrassed and cheap however, why do they get an extra 10% for bringing me a plate of food and a few drinks. This rip off really needs to stop

My Father invited me at have a Christmas Lunch with Mum he and two old friends. The table was booked for 1.30pm and we were offered the Christmas Menu and the main menu. Please remember this is not fine dinning and not up to my normal expectations of Pub Food. The Christmas menu was £20.00 for two courses despite there being three on offer - so the waitress had to work out the actual costs - what not make it £25.00 for the 3 courses? I had the Sausage and Mash - potato was packet and the gravy was very nice with Onion and this added a nice taste to the meal. The starter was Carrot and Coriander soup with bread - warm - id have preferred garlic - but not offered. The sweet was homemade Ice cream - creamy - not sure it was homemade as it looked as if it came out of a mould. All in all service was good but the food let the place down again since my last visit with my parents. The atmosphere was cold as no heating seemed to me on - or very little. My legs were cold by the time we left. (Mum and Dad are in their 80s) Not a good experience

Almuerzo de Navidad 2024 . Tuvimos un tiempo muy agradable en The County Members ... un montón de buena comida con un excelente servicio y un ambiente encantador. Muchas gracias a Morag y Jack por cuidarnos tan bien y hacer que sea una experiencia memorable. Volveremos para el almuerzo del domingo de nuevo muy pronto. David y Janet

This was a birthday present from a family member . We had a safari tour and Sunday lunch experience booked . The restaurant was very nice as was the meal. Great staff seeing to all your needs and the service was first class .

Como somos locales, mi marido y yo fuimos al recién abierto al público Friday Night set noche de curry en el restaurante Bear Lodge. Probamos el bar para tomar una copa primero, pero hacía menos ambiente y frío, así que nos trasladamos rápidamente a la zona de restaurantes interior. Esperábamos más un ambiente formal para comer, pero era estilo cantina, también hacía un poco de frío allí también. Estaba ocupado y lleno, pero al 50% con familias con niños pequeños y ruidosos que no pudimos evitar, así que el ambiente se estropeó para nosotros. La comida al curry era pobre y por el precio, caro. Desearíamos haber ido a nuestro indio local en su lugar. 2 platos por £ 29. 50 por persona, 1 ‘campo’ de calle era 1 bahji de cebolla diminuta y 1 popadom cada uno. Decía que venía con salsa de yogur, pepinillo de lima y chutney de mango. ¡El baño de yogur era sólo ese yogur simple! ¡No obtuvimos el chutney, sino una olla extraña de ensalada de col acuosa e insípida! Pedimos chutney y lo trajeron. Solo había una opción de 3 currys, así que fuimos por Pollo Balti y Cordero rogan Josh y no hay opción para los acompañamientos, solo planee arroz basmati, naan simple y sag aloo & garbanzos. Lados y cordero al curry estaban bien. Balti sabía como una salsa de tarro que harías en casa, naan era como un pan plano griego! Arroz normal aburrido. 2 bebidas cada una y cargo por servicio por £ 100 , no se devolverá y no recomiendo. Dando 2 * s para la espera y frente al personal de la casa, ya que todos eran agradables y profesionales, pero para nosotros la calidad de la comida, la falta de elección y el ambiente incómodo fue decepcionante.
