The best restaurants in Wallingford North South Oxfordshire South East

Lovely visit with a friend to sit out and have coffee during Bunkfest. Unbelievable rudeness from another customer towards the staff who were gracious and tolerant where to eject him would have been entirely appropriate and reasonable. Instead they returned his money as an act of goodwill. Everyone who witnessed this was appalled by how awful he was. Such a lovely cafe!

We've enjoyed the Town Arms before, but after last night, might look elsewhere. We arrived 10 minutes early for our reserved table, the bar was 3 deep, one girl serving and no-one else was on hand to help us. After 15 mins being patient at the bar I spoke up, announced our arrival to the bar lady and proceeded to order food for our family of four. The table was ready, so we sat with our first round of drinks. Half hour later, my wife ordered another round believing that food would be out soon. After an hour waiting for food I went up, the bar girl said she would check, but offered no apology. Out food arrived 10 minutes later, with a short apology from the young waiter. The food was of excellent quality, but by then we were starving and wolfed it down, rather than take our time and enjoy it. Because we'd had to pay in advance, there was no offer of any compensation for our wait, and also no indication of slow timings when we ordered. On a quieter night, I'm sure things would have been fab, but we'd choose somewhere else with more staff on busier evenings in future.

The best afternoon tea around! I have been several times for afternoon tea and have also had the soups, Quiches and sausage roll, everything is amazing! The tearoom is such s beautiful room! It is a must if you are visiting Wallingford I feel very lucky to live around the corner from this lovely place.

French wine bar. Dog friendly. Nice coffee. Something a bit different. We had the tarte flambee gratinee and the courgette one. And the cheese board.

Food was really nice and the staff were very friendly. In particular we shared the prawns for starter and they were incredibly tasty. The prices felt really reasonable too and the portion sizes were great. All in all a great meal out and we’ll definitely go back.

Absolutely gorgeous!!! We ordered 4 12-inch pizzas, cheese & tomato, pepperoni, ham & pineapple, spicy chicken. Each pizza came piping hot after a prompt delivery, cooked to perfection with amazing flavours. I used to get a small pizza here for lunch when shopping while younger, now after many (many many) years I finally convinced the Mrs to try them. She was over the moon and even called after to thank them. Extremely polite people who care about the food you order, honestly can't recommend them enough. By far the best pizza place in Oxfordshire, (still after all these years). Delizioso!

Fantastic! I love this place. Possibly my favourite part is the wine list. The food is fabulous and I love the ambience/vibe of the place. Great beer selection. My only wish would be you open one in Caversham! It would make a killing. Food we have some of the root veggie crips, probably about 4 bowls, I have the gin trout, lovely, then the beef, cooked perfectly, the bread selection is great too. I'll be back!

I organised in advance a dinner booking for a group of friends, Emily was very helping organising the evening, the food and service was great, I would definitely come back again and try the rest of the menu

Really nice room Liam couldn't have been more helpful. We had a lovely night out in Wallingford and the pub was still lively and really welcoming on a wet Sunday night. We even got a few old skool bar games out. Hard to beat !Liam went out in the rain to put an extra couple of hours on our car in the long stay car park - way beyond normal service!

A group of 20 from Chess Valley U3A enjoyed the good portions and food in the lounge. So cheery on a cold day.
