Really good coffee, enjoyable atmosphere with very friendly and helpful staff. Prices aren’t as bad as expected given it is in central Winchester, and a lot of lovely decor

Looking for a light bite at lunch time and found Marse. We all had the combo bowl, every different item was delicious and we all struggled to find a favourite. On balance mine was the summer roll. We managed to sit outside and the service was with a smile. We will return next time we are in Winchester, it was a real flavour treat.

We came for the Teppanyaki experience and had a great time, we came to celebrate one year married and were made to feel very special. The chef was great fun and interactive and let us have a go with the egg tossing!! The food was immaculate and plenty of it, we will definitely be back!

Had a lovely hot chocolate with orange syrup. Lovely and smooth, thick enough to need a spoon. Not sure what chocolate they use, and not at all a sickly sweet hot chocolate that you get in other places. The best hot chocolate in town without adoubt. You do not have to be seeing a show to go into the cafe bar at the Theatre Royal in Jewry Street as it is open to everyone. I was served immediately as there wasn't a show on the day I went.

Our server Greta was fantastic! She made the night so special and went above and beyond for us, she even added another table to ours to make sure we had enough room as we ordered a sharing platter and some sides, she was so lovely for the whole evening and is amazing at her job, the food was incredible the ribs are a must have! Thank you for a wonderful evening :) !

Had a meal Saturday lunchtime between Christmas an new year. We had not booked but we were given the table in the window. The food was great as always, you can really taste the depth of the spices in the curry. We had a chicken tikka jalfrezi and garlic chilli chicken tikka, I would recommend both. We also had a portion of their great onion bhajis.

We went for lunch on a Saturday (the day being important) and ended up walking away without even reaching our table. We'd booked a table for 2pm on the understanding that the restaurant would be open all afternoon - I've cut and pasted the following from their website 2 minutes ago ...... Saturday - Open All Day 12-10 pm We arrived 15 mins late, for which we apologised, and were told that the kitchen was closing shortly and we'd have to be out of the restaurant by 3pm as it closed at that time on a Saturday. So that gave us approx 30 minutes to order, eat and pay. That obviously wasn't going to happen so we left and found somewhere else to eat. This clearly isn't the first time this has happened as the lady on the reception desk told us she's told the owner several times that the website opening hours need changing. The booking system also seems to allow bookings up to 2.4 5pm on Saturdays, so something really is amiss. If we'd made a special visit to Winchester just to eat at this restaurant we'd have kicked up more of a stink. As it was we were just really frustrated and annoyed at having to find somewhere else last minute.

Visited here as part of a Christmas market visit today. Place looked perfect and just what we were looking for. Ordered coffee, turkey club and fries. Sorry but what arrived was not a club sandwich. More a brought in Costa Coffee brought in turkey toasty. Not what we wanted and at nearly £20 outrageous. Leaving aside it was an Italian roll and no egg etc. there also was literally no turkey. Just fat and stuffing. The breakfasts looked great. Particularly the waffles! Please and purely my view. Take this item off menu :-(
