Visiting friends in Blackawton & treated them to lunch. Both had the carvery & I had the macaroni 3 cheeses

A lovely pub offering a great selection of drinks alongside a quintessential pub menu. The food is consistently high standard for both the regular menu and their Sunday roasts. The venison Sunday roast is a standout.

Excellent view. Great selection of specials. Seafood heaven. Lovely selection of pastries too. Additional bonus: They sell bait for fishing and crabbing.

Visited on a Monday evening out of peak Season. Pub was fairly quiet but so lovely. Big open fire and the food was amazing! Great service and really glad we visited. Would come here again!

What an amazing place to stay! A 'gem' hidden away in rural Devon. Many thanks to our wonderful hosts Sue and Graham who couldn't do enough to make our stay memorable. Our room was superb, very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed having fresh milk (straight from our fridge) and cookies in our room. The bathroom was huge with soft, fluffy towels, shampoo, conditioner and even bubble bath! Our breakfast and evening meals were so delicious with a wide choice on offer. The atmosphere in the pub was very friendly and we especially loved meeting Bella! We would highly recommend Hunters Lodge Inn if you want to experience the best Devon has to offer!

Visited pub for meal during October holiday. Food was ok , service just ok. Menu limited. Two pubs in the village, I think the other has the edge.

We ordered a devon pasty and a vegetable pasty. Both were inedible. Luke warm to cold. Microwaved so soft. Fillings were horrible. Staff didn't bother to check if meal was OK. We left the food and walked out. Avoid this place. I don't review often and usually only if very good, but this was bad enough to warn others

Extremely disappointing. Food very expensive and accused of walking out without paying despite bill paid before food arrived !! Member of staff hadn’t cleared it from till and no apology made. We run our own business and would have no clients if we ran a business this way !,

Called in for a reviving pint. Had a local beer called Legend which went down very well. Pub is quirky as it has a Post Office counter at one end of the bar. Steepish climb up from the river Dart but worthwhile.

The Sunday Roast is profoundly flavoursome. Absolutely the best roast dinner dining out I have ever had. Even the brocoli was delicious! Hands down, an amazing experience, such a dreamy and delightful plate of food. Yummy!
