The best restaurants in Dorchester West West Dorset South West

Absolutely fantastic food, atmosphere, staff and service. From the moment we walked in - on rainy November morning at 0830 - we were made to feel so welcome. Ordered omelette with bacon and sourdough - will definitely set me up for the day.

What a better atmosphere in the last few weeks, the new owner is redecorating and is really trying to turn the pub around. Beer garden is a really good sun catcher. Good range of drinks.

Picked up the takeaway only to find it wasn’t actually cooked. Wouldn’t be surprised if I get food poisoning!!! Disgusting, don’t eat here

Our first visit…..A proper breakfast…I had the large cooked, inc a very nice cuppa tea…fab cooking, so good I was not able to eat til the evening. It’s not about the size/portion of a meal it’s about how well it’s cooked and this was a meal that arrived hot, was great value and we will definitely visit again….. my wife had the poached eggs and advacado, the eggs were cooked as poached eggs should be, a perfect white and a yolk that drizzles over the plate…

Gorgeous little cafe- and big shout out to the young girls who were working there. Nothing was too much trouble. Food scrumptious- from soups to brunch and cakes- we sampled lots! Can’t wait to go back on our next visit to the area

We went along for breakfast, everything thrown on the plate. My friend and I both agreed we’d have paid more for it to be presented better and the dry herbs were not appreciated, not at breakfast anyway. Think we will stick to Hall and woodhouse opposite Waitrose
