Staying locally for the night when dinner plans failed. Visited the Fradley Fryer instead and so glad I did. I was greeted like a well known customer (as was everyone else that came in whilst I was being served). I had fish and chips, and was immediately surprised by the portion size. I raced back to my hotel with the amazing smell filling the car and then experienced the best fish and chips that I've had for a long long time (they'd give Parkgate fish and chips a run for their money, if you know you know). Great quality with great service in a lovely atmosphere and a friendly attitude displayed by all staff. It was a pleasure to experience.

Heard about this cafe so decided to visit. We travelled half an hour. Sadly, they are not dog friendly inside. The friendly lady said it was the Landlords rule & said we could sit outside but all the chairs & tables were soaking wet. I understand not everyone wants dogs in their establishments but I would imagine if the Landlord did change his mind, they would certainly be full. There was only one table seated inside. We took our business to another cafe further down which was seating outside but covered with parasols & a small marquee - fantastic & so dog friendly, very busy too. Come on Mr Landlord - you're located by a canal path - its Winter - let the dog walkers inside, promise well behaved. Looks very cosy & inviting but our dog is part of our family. We spent almost £30 at the other cafe & like to support small businesses.

I used to live in the village years ago and used to go to the chippy as a kid and had great memories of getting a bag of chips and eating them on the park bench. Sadly it’s not how I remember, very expensive, just for a handful of chips, fish cake and small pot of curry sauce was £5.20! The chips were nice, just a standard chip shop tea really. The one thing that really disappointed me is the time it took to get my tea! I walked in and ordered straight away, then I waited……people came and went getting collection orders, more and more people came in and ordered food, but no one seemed to be getting served. Eventually after 15mins, maybe longer, I got my order. Never had to wait that long in my life for a fish cake and chips. They were cooked ready so why did it take an age?!

This has to be the worst dining out experience me and my partner has ever had. We turned up as the restaurant opened, we was the first couple to sit down and the starters took 2 hours to come out while take away orders was flying out the door. Food was great but then we had to wait for our mains which was another 40 minutes? When the mains arrived, there was a black beard hair on my missus's plate and a huge long black hair in my meal, food was undercooked. It was an absolute joke. Would not recommend anyone dining here. Joke of a resteraunt. Definitely will never be returning. There was a couple that sat next to us for their 50th anniversary and they left before we did because of the ridiculous wait times. We sent them to a different Indian restaurant that we know of so we can only hope that they had a better experience there than they did here. Joke!

Stopped here for a Latte during our walk. Unfortunately it was made with instant coffee. We had a small size which was tiny. Two mouthfuls and it was gone and at £2.50 expensive. For that money you can get a decent size cup and a real latte. It is a shame because this is a nice place, but would go to the other cafe next time.

We waited an hour for 3 meals and one was wrong. Every time we go in there the waiting time is ridiculous and you can hear people complaining. My advice to the owner do not take orders without making it clear your waiting time. We would only go back for a drink as you dont have to wait and your less likely to get the order wrong.
