Has gone downhill . Waiting ages at the counter for someone to come and take my order . There was a blonde girl with a dirty tracksuit who eventually arrived . I have been here before and it is the same person . I know it’s not the Ritz but an expectation that the staff wear clean clothes is not much . Food was mediocre . Lorry drivers stop here a lot and will be having 30/45 min breaks and the time goes fast . Much quicker service is needed

Dropped in for a spot of lunch as we were passing through. Friendly staff. Decent menu at reasonable prices. Freshly produced food with decent portions. No WiFi.

Visited Prees fish & chip restaurant on a busy Friday evening in early August. The restaurant does eat in & takeaway. The place was busy. Good selection of food available. Nice open space with wooden table & chairs, clean and tidy. Tables also available outside. Drinks available at the bar where you order. A short wait and food was delivered to the table. We both had fish, chips & mushy peas. Food was fresh, hot and good quality. I know there has been historically some poor reviews, be have to say based on this visit, we had no complaints, and would definitely visit again.

Absolutely delicious home made food. We met friends for a walk around the beautiful farm and fields before a light lunch in the cafe. The Welsh rarebit was the best we’ve ever had (and we’ve had a lot!) and the reason for writing this review - everyone should try it! Sausage rolls were fantastic too. Really lovely cafe and great farm shop too!

We had a Sunday lunch and the meat was not good, the veg was terrible! The chicken seemed like a boiled breast and not roast, the veg on the plate was creamed celery, boiled courgettes and some very pale red cabbage (a seperate bowl with carrots, cauliflower was brought out for us all. The pic on their Facebook of roast beef is unfortunately not what you get. We didn’t complain on the day as we just wanted to leave. I’m writing a review now as I think you should be aware of what you’re going to get and there should be photos of the food they serve on Facebook etc. There also wasn’t a menu we were just told what meat was available. If we’d been asked about the veg that came with it we all would have asked for it not to be added. The two men who served us were absolutely lovely and it was a real shame the food let them down.

I called into this establishment three years ago with my elderly father whilst on-route to Ludlow. I had often passed this Cafe and that day I decided to try the food. In retrospect, wished that I hadn't stopped. And judging from the current reviews from others, I can clearly see that nothing has improved. There wasn't anyone in when I entered and the lady behind the counter (presumably the owner) wasn't of the welcoming ilk. Her 'froideur' didn't run well with the cafe and she made us feel downright unwelcome. Her whole 'being' seemed to generate an awkward atmosphere that made you feel more like a minor inconvenience than a customer. That aside, I stayed and ordered. Our order was taken by a man who I assumed was the husband. He was more personable and approachable and we ordered a breakfast. I made the profound 'faux-pas' by asking for scrambled eggs which earned me the almost shocked response of 'I'm sorry, but Debs doesn't do that'. (Cue the distinctly awkward moment that makes you feel that you're in a bad Terry and June BBC comedy sketch from the 1980s.) The whole dining experience there was a farce. The meal wasn't the best nor was it enjoyable in such drab and unwelcoming surroundings. The greatest comedy value for me were the signs dotted about saying, 'Ask Debs' if you require anything. Oh, the sheer irony of it! Ask a woman who doesn't want to make even a modicum of conversation with you. My only conclusion to this absolute travesty that attempts to pass for a 'cafe' is simply to avoid it. When on the A49, please divert your eyes away from 'Debs Cafe' and drive on. I'm sure that other establishments will give you a far better welcome than this miserable place.
