It was nice enough. The location is amazing and the view stunning and very tranquil but the food was just OK. The waitress was lovely and friendly and chatty and you get a discount if you’ve been to the museum. I wouldn’t hurry back and would try one of the neighbouring places first.

Great coffee and great food. Always pop in here when I am in the village. Great selection of food and cakes. Lots to chooses from and fresh bread to takeaway. Sarah's cakes are to die for.

Excellent Traditional pub serving excellent ales, roaring fires and bed and breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Food was excellent in the evening and at breakfast. Service was a little disjointed due to an elderly lady on the service team who continually interfered in services already being provided by more than capable staff. Darlene is an asset to the business and was a star throughout our stay. Looking forward to returning soon !

Another fantastic stay where the staff are very helpful and friendly. Food very good and breakfast excellent. Rooms very good and were warm and clean. Good bar with plenty of choice and reasonable prices. Real coal fires in the inn creating a good atmosphere. Have stayed several times and had another great stay. Would highly recommend and will stay again.

Pretty pub with interesting dining booths, the Christmas tree and fairy lights plus a great fire created a warm and friendly atmosphere. We thought £19.95 was a bit on the high side for the crispy belly pork, but actually it was a generous portion and delicious. We will eat here again next time we’re over this way.

Lovely pub but has gone down a bit as seems to be run by young people Lost that feel of a country pub with the good old landlord etc Update January Unfortunately I won't be visiting again as the man I was supposed to be spending the rest of my li fe with left and is now living there with an escort he met All I can say is his poor mother died last January so locals will know who he is Shame as its a lovely village

On arrival everything seemed to be ok , we checked in and the young girl showed us to our room, however on route she forgot to mention to my 5 foot 11 inches husband there was a low doorway, and he bumped his head ! egg swelling and small cut later she apologised and asked if we needed first aid box , at no point in our stay did the management apologise for this . I suggested strongly they ought to have signs up to inform guests or this ! Before we went out for the eve the signs were up ! No help to my husband ! We weren’t told what time breakfast was served or if we were out late the key was for a rear door or any other information for that fact. The room was basic and ok for the price and the breakfast was very good, but it was very much a see to yourself place, I was very disappointed as we were visiting friends and it was just the lack or recognition of the injury my husband suffered in this establishment . I doubt I will get a response from them we’ll see !
