We met friends for brunch there this weekend. The cafe is very welcoming and the staff extremely friendly. The menu/specials sounded so exciting that we ordered 5 dishes between 4 of us - Brisket chilli with cauliflower rice, Prawn with avocado on a milk bun, and Huevos Rancheros. All of the dishes were absolutely fantastic and unusual. The coffee is also extremely good. We will definitely be back (and will no doubt become regulars!)

The best Indians to sit in whilst in Helensburgh. The specials board is always worth a shout.

We were back in Helensburgh after a 2 year gap and had to return to The Upper Crust, believing it couldn't be as good and fun as last time. We were not disappointed at all and had a great evening along with the other diners. It is quirky and different, and the food is excellent with a good choice on the menu and specials board. The owners, Roger and Mary run it themselves, with Mary in the kitchen and Roger front of house. Roger is so entertaining and the whole experience is more than just a meal. We are normally private people, just wanting to enjoy our own company, but have never been anywhere else where you relax so easily and end up talking with fellow diners - all down to Roger and his manner. None of us there that night wanted to leave, and we all stayed far longer than expected - again, all down to Roger and his great company. It was one of the best nights we've had in a long time and we'll be back as soon as we can! Thank you Roger and Mary

Absolutely incredible pizza would 100% recommend worth a visit. Really unexpected from just a wee small unsuspecting place.

Totally agree with Fiona F. Poor selection of Festive Cocktails. Had ran out of ingredients for cocktails which shows pretty poor organisation ahead of a busy festive period, not to mention they have started to add on a 10% service charge! When you are already charging £10 for a cocktail this is ridiculous.

Nice place with a refined but friendly feel. Food to a high standard and good portions, unexpectedly affordable too in comparison with just about anywhere we'd ever eaten. Recommended. Update, should have said before. Wife had absolutely chronic shits around 20 minutes after leaving. Shocking.

We only had coffee but it was really well made and not too expensive. There was a small range of fresh cakes. The rest of the menu looked good. The café is next to the marina so very convenient for that, but it is worth stopping of you are driving past. At the time of our visit the café was open Weds-Sun only, which may be a business necessity, but it is unlikely to help the business grow.
