Ahaa Dosa in Hounslow

I had a good experience. Huge menu including dosa, rice, noodles and more. Good place for those who follow a vegetarian diet. Clean. Like a canteen, diner, type place. The lady who served me was pleasant and friendly. I had the MYSORE MASALA DOSA which was a crepe coated inside with mysore chutney and stuffed with potato masala with a mango lassi. Both were delicious. Very filling and tasty. The lassi could have been a little colder but lovely otherwise. The dosa came with the usual condiments. Very reasonably priced. Would recommend.

The Ahaa Dosa is a little west of the centre of the centre of Hounslow (but under 65 m inutes walk from the Ibis Budget or Ramada hotels), and offers good value South Indian food. There's both meat and vegetarian dishes, and a vegetable thali was excellent value, and came with a papadum, rice and chapati. I had a salt lassi with the meal, but they also sell beer, soft drinks and will provide tap water.

What a great find. We had a meat thali, a dosa and a chicken curry. Food was delicious. Service was friendly and efficient. There were 3 of us and the bill was £31. Incredible. Definitely coming back.

Excellent experience! This was a first time being introduced to South Indian cuisine. The food was absolutely delicious - we had dosa masala, channa batura, chicken manchurian and chilli paneer. Alongside enjoying cups of Faluda - it was mouth watering and all tasted fantastic! Very different from what’s commonly regarded as Indian cuisine. Worth trying! Most likely we’ll be back. After the filling delicious meal - not a single item of it less than super tasty - we finished it off with coffee. Served in interesting apparently traditional metal dishes… looking super nice, but a normal ordinary cup would’ve been a lot easier to handle. The service by our waitress was very attentive and friendly, prices very reasonable for the amount and quality of food we enjoyed. From outside it doesn’t look particularly special - but it’s a gem hidden inside, larger than it looks from outside. And the restaurant is kept nice tidy, shiny and clean. Very happy!

No doubts of Masala dosa is nice, but we asked for lime soda which was made of lemon not lime, also charged £4.65/- for a small glass which was not even full. Even after informing them they charged us. Gave half a glass. The woman did not even give good service. The owner was seating in the back and talking loudly on the phone with no descency at all. No music as well

Excellent south Indian restaurant, food is so tasty and the same as we get in Tamil Nadu. You will never be disappointed.

Ahaa dosa is not like before. They have grown to be cheats. My order was partly delivered which was ordered through just eats. When I called Ahaa dosa, they simply rejected to deliver the missing item. The lady had the audacity to say that if I needed the item, I need to come and collect it or call just eats. They just did not want to take the responsibility that it was their mistake. This is not the first time they have done so. NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM AHAA DOSA THROUGH ONLINE APPS. EVEN IF YOU HAVE A TAKE AWAY ORDERED< CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE LEAVING THE RESTAURANT. These people have grown proud and arrogant but their portion have grown small. Disgusting

We ordered over #5312 Deliveroo (05/01/2021) Chicken biriyani pieces are completely spoiled and smell started. Really shocked in hounslow many takeaway restaurants are selling fast fresh biriani for 2 pounds. But I tried Aaha dosa restaurant for chicken biriyani and paid 9 pounds appx. I have received poisoning food. I would strongly advise not to buy chicken biriyani here seems they are storing the foods in fridge.

We waited over an hour for our starters to be served which was only 2/3 of what we ordered. The main course arrived 45mins after that. The waiters of the restaurant were poorly dressed and not welcoming - dressed in joggers and sweatshirts - not presentable in the least. You would think they were picked up from the streets. Nonetheless, the reason for giving the two stars is because the restaurant salvaged its performance with the food quality - it was really good. Sadly though, I will save my time next time and simply order through Just Eat. The restaurant experience needs serious improvement.

I am regular at this restaurant for quite a few years now. Have eaten almost all their dishes on the menu. The menu hasn’t changed in years. Also have been ordering food delivery. I would strongly recommend this place mainly as eat in rather than delivery. As most of their dosa items are just not the same in terms of texture temperature and it looses the whole structure of that particular dish(ex.paper dosa comes like wet soaked leather texture) medu wada sambhar is an excellent dish on menu so is there chettinad curries. Also the parotha is good. Dishes to avoid; definitely the pomfret- i guess they use frozen ones and not so tasty and not well seasoned too. Also avoid the chinese dishes if you are fans of authentic indo chinese. They make their own versions here! Overall is a decent place for quick bites South Indian tiffin and snacks dishes

Went for dosa here yesterday, absolutely horrible, service was very poor and food was worst ever. Tried to complain but waiter only spoke Tamil. Avoid

So the food was great but service was terrible. Waited so long for the food to come a good 30 mins waiting for it. Then when the mains came the dosa was incorrectly made. The roti was dry and wasn’t the greatest. This is a photo of near the end of us eating but it wasn’t great

We went to this restaurant on a Saturday late afternoon. Its a small restaurant on the ground floor easily accessible for the wheel chair. We had lunch thali,Dosa and Idli among three of us. Quality and quantity is acceptable level. Service was quick, of course there were hardly any customers that time of our visit. Being a south indian myself, the taste is authentic. 2 negative points, surprisngly the minimum amount spend to be 30£ to pay by card which I did not like! Industry practice is 10£ or 5£. Other issue, there is no parking and need to search of a street parking in that busy area. Its worth a try once at least.

It’s a cafe style restaurant. However the prices reflect that. But don’t let that put you off. I Had Masala Dosa as usual. Around £5. It was beautiful and much better than the one in a posh Hampstead restaurant for 4x the price. The food is lovely. I simply cannot fault it. My only complaint is that as a white English person, who loves Asian food, its hard to understand the menu. I try new things every time I visit. A few are hits, a few misses. So, give me a “guide to the menu’ and I’ll give you five stars!

If you want the authentic south indian dosa, this is the place. Love the variety of chutney. Very authentic sambar as well.

Serving traditional south Indian restaurant with a fair pricing.The service is also very good.But the ambiance and atmosphere is not very good as that required for a neat restaurant.

We had to wait more than half an hour for the waiter to take our order and another 30 minutes for the Food to arrive. The waiter didn't seem to care about us or how the Food was. We are very disappointed about the service but the food made up for the good service. The food didn't come at one go, they were getting each dish every ten minutes so when one person on the table was eating the other were just staring at him

It is a fantastic place, very simplistic but fantastic food at an affordable price. The speciality is Dosa that I find very tasty.

We ordered the Chicken 65 and Chicken noodles and vegetables noodles for the family of 4. It was the worst meal we've ever had. After the new management took over this restaurant has lost it. And for the price you pay its really worth the experience.

A lovely restaurant with friendly staff. Our waiter explained all the different dishes to us (as we hadn’t heard of some of them) and was patient with us first timers. Food was tasty and the “naan” bread the best I have ever tasted. The restaurant itself has a simple layout but food was great. We left stuffed and the bill didn’t make us faint.

What an unbelievable find! We went there today, 4 adults and one child and had a mix of Dosa’s, fish curry, mutton and mini thali and every single dish was amazing. And all for £40!

Visited here in search of nice south Indian flavours. The restaurant has a cafe feel with a very basic interior.

Horrible service and they serve only cold food, waited almost 30min to be given the menu to order & another 30min nagging to get the food from them...what a disgrace & still they missed an item in the order...

Every Dosa here is more authentic than most places I’ve eaten in India. The chicken. Chettinad is easily the best gravy dish . Do not miss out to try the falooda. Extremely reasonable and very friendly staff .

Just popped in for a quick supper. The dosas were excellent & very reasonably priced. The service too was very good. Highly recommended.

Excellent food which is 100% authentic South Indian cuisine ( I know because I am half South Indian) also the service was prompt and good.

This is a Nice and well laid out south Indian restaurant. The place is good but nothing great or authentic, and can not either be dubbed to be value for money. Portions are good a ND generous however!

Great menu and fresh food at reasonable price. This place is best if you are on budget. Rava dosa, flat fish and dry mutton are some of lip smacking foods. A must visit place if you in Hounslow next time.

Ahaa Dosa is a nice little find at a great location and food is good they are authentic and consistent in taste. Prices are also ok, service can be improved a bit, but still go there for food, I have been there twice now will rate them 7.5/10

Always enjoy a lovely Indian meal here when I need to satisfy my cravings for spices from home.Live the chettinadu recipe with a extra kick.Dosas and rest of the food is good if you know what you ordering.Generally good value delicious satisfying food.The only drawback is the non veg Thali which I think is not good value but the rest is excellent.

To our big disappointment, the service was poor, the waiters were the rudest persons who served you... but the food is above average.

Really, really enjoyed the food here. Staff were incredibly helpful in making recommendations and explaining what all the different names meant. Food so tasty and lots of options for vegetarians. Not expensive at all - would strongly recommend.

Good place for a south indian dinner, dosa and uttapam awesome. Kids love special dosa and dont forget to try paneer dosa. Only trouble is off road parking near restaurant is not guaranteed.

Have gone for lunch. Unlimited meals with sambar, rasam, puli kolambu, sweet even in UK. Not much indian restaurants give the same taste as in South India as this.

I went to this restaurant with my family. Not busy at all. Order our food when it arrived the fish cutlet was more like was potatoes cutlet. The main was just ok. Food was not as good as I was thinking. Tea was better then food. I will not try soon again.

A canteen style Indian diner. So the setting is pretty basic, however for what it lacks in style it makes up for with awesome food, at great prices. This is authentic southern Indian cuisine,you'll find the locals in here with their families. I recommend their chipatti with chicken masala curry and they do another type of bread the name escapes me, it was incredible. We stayed at a cheap ibis hotel nearby before going to Heathrow to catch a flight the next day, we are still talking about the food. We did a take away, as there is no alcohol served at the restaurant. Be prepared, you won't get your balti or vindaloo here, for a new experience just go with the flow, be humble and you will get great service, if you go in demanding instant attention you will leave disappointed.

Food- Good Quality. Choices- wide &amp; serve different age groups. Apt choice available for toddlers as well like idli with ghee you can specially ask to be served for them.. not very expensive like any of those other south Indian restaurants...

Food is tasty, cheap prices and service is okay. Recommended dishes would be devil paneer (if you like chilli) gobi manchurian or butter paneer.

Nice little no frills place. Drinks come out of a can, tables bare and service minimal but the food is excellent. They accept mostly cash only. Good place for a yummy dosa. The chicken noodles are very very delicious as well. If you walk past you will notice it is always full up, for a good reason.

Went with my friends from India and they loved the food , one of them was so impressed with the masala Dosha that he made take away for his flat mate and one as his next morning's breakfast. My Indian friend compared it the food form his home town Chennai as it was as good as the one he gets there.

I've visited here many times and although simple looking from the outside the restaurant is truly a hidden gem with the fried pomfret fish to certainly try.

This place is a typical Udipi joint. It serves delicious South Indian snacks. However that is where the similarity ends. Restaurants in India offer unlimited chutney and sambhar as accompaniment to the meal ordered, here we are offered a choice of either one only. For one who has recently switched continents, the meagre quantity and massive prices will come as a shock. But eventually one begins to realise that there is no point converting INR to GBP , it is a lost cause. Shut the calculator in your head and savour the experience.The food quality is good and healthy to the boot!

been here with my wife for lunch food was good but when asked for chutney ,they told us that they dont serve chutney at restaurant

Masala dosa and plain dosa is delicious. We also ordered Paratta, crab curry, chicken 65. All were tasty and everyone (4 adults 3 kids) enjoyed the meal.

Excellent Southern Indian food, been coming here many years with the family. Management are friendly, waiting staff are often short term so can be hit and miss but never had a major problem.Food's really quick, cheap and very tasty. Being the only white people in the restaurant is also a good sign you're in for some good Indian food! Lots of vegetarian options and a wide range of Dosa and more familiar Indian dishes.

The restaurant started very well but have seen gradual degradation in food and service at this place. The place has a very dull look. Food is at best ordinary. This is not a place if you are looking for some great south indian food.

You can expect to find mostly asians dining in this establishment. The decor is run down and you cannot help but think twice about the levels of hygiene. However, their speciality are the Dosa (as in the name) &amp; the Idli.

I visited the place along with a friend, the place is simple ,on a first look , there were patches on the walls were the paint was missing, we had to wit for at least 8-10 minutes for some one to take the order,also there were some items on the menu which i had inquired about, i was flatly told ' no ', also there were no tissues kept on the table , the glasses looked uncleaned. The food was good , would definitely love to return if they improve on the ambiance.

I was a regular here, constantly putting up with the lack of service and regard for customers which the staff and manager show. No tissues, no water.. It's almost a joke. I was still putting up with all this because of the fact that this place is close to home and serves South Indian food. But nothing is worth putting up with not just bad but unacceptably ride service. Thanks but no thanks !!!!! The manager seems to assume that he is running a charity and he can act as per his moods with customers.

A good reasonably priced family friendly restaurant. Dosa's are incredible an masala tea is very good. The restaurant is South Indian but the meat is all halal.

Situated almost near to Hounslow high street, provides north and south India dishes. This place have some unique dishes like chicken/mutton dosa. Offer good Thali's as well. The ambience is ordinary, but served with bad service. They forgot to offered me cutleries and tissues with the food. The second order never came through without a reminder.The food quality is good, especially with South Indian dishes. Lots of dosa varieties. Few nice desserts as well on the menu.Generally this restaurant does not take card payments. I would recommend to try this out once you are nearby Hounslow.

Arrived after the rugby, good food and a lot of it. V noisy though with v loud beating music not so relaxing. Staff welcoming and attentive.

There is no decor or ambience. But had enough people eating in. The place is well know for its southindian cuisine and is cheaply priced. We ordered mix dishes- dosas, fried fish, crab curry etc. The dosas were crisp but the chutneys were too bland or tasteless. The crab curry was good. The fried fish and prawns was cooked from frozen. The curry sauce is good. Maybe with fresher ingredients the experience would be better. The lassi and falooda was lovely.

We went for a lunch. Was Quite full of customers which meant taste should be good.They have a extensive menu and prices are reasonable. Whatever we ordered tasted good. Service can be slow if customers are more. Ambience was ok. Don't mind going again..!

The south Indian Dishes are good. Love their hot chutney dosa. Service is your luck. Out of 6 different people(depends on time and day you may see from 2 to 5 people serving) who serve, 2 are horrible. We go their 1-2 times a month.

Went to celebrte friends bday.. Very good lamb dishes and dosas.. value for money and nice food. Nice and friendly staff.. food serving take some time but worth it..

I had non-veg thali in ahaa dosa, I must say it was so tasty and I really enjoyed the indian spices away from home. After a long stay in London I found typical indian taste.

Tasty food and friendly staff however not the world's cleanest place. They seriously need to take more care with cleanliness in the restaurant or it will forever put customers off to other restaurants locally -which there is no shortage of.

The Dosa was as authentic as you can expect it to be. The restaurant itself is spartan and the service adequate. But then it's great value for your money.

The food here is good but customer service was rude. The waitress was arrogant and did not even hear our seating request. They need to improve in this respect.

Many times, I have being to this place &amp; every single time I have enjoyed my Dosa . One of the best place for authentic Dosa in London. Staff were helpful. Been in London for a while now and tried many South Indian restaurants. This is one of the best in terms of food quality and quantity, service is pretty ok and serving time is average. A must visit when in Hounslow!!

Typical south Indian restaurant ambiance, especially steel glasses and plates which gives you a 'back-to-home' feel. Lots of option in dosa and other south indian delicacies. I liked the meals,which is a specialty served only on weekends.

It is indeed very much the taste of South India .. If it has been a while that you have eaten anything Indian it's the right place to go, nothing fancy or flashy just plain authentic food.. We will go again!

I have been in London for past six months and have tried quite a lot of Indian cuisines. Even have been to restaurants in East Ham. The restaurant set up is quite simple but the food they serve is very close to what you get in Chennai. They have not compromised on the spice level based on the local's taste which is very commendable. It's very rare to find an authentic south Indian restaurant in London. It will any day beat even Saravana Bhavan(London) in terms of taste(Sambhar and chutneys). To top it all they serve best Chettinadu chicken curry. Dont miss to try it out with a plate of Idly's. The icing on the top of it is that they serve real Dabara glass filter coffee(which is not good in Saravana Bhavan, London). To summarize, they have the best COOK(i dont know who he/she is). They are doing a Splendid work! Hope they serve food in Plantain leaf at during the festival seasons :)

Facilities can be improved a bit, but I go to this restaurant for food and they serve the best south Indian food, authentic and consistent in taste. Try chettinadu dishes.

This is one of the very few south Indian options available in West London. If you craving Dosa, Idly or the likes you can definitely visit this place. Food is served hot and fast, although service is definitely not top notch - more because its understaffed, however I must mention that despite this the staff is always pleasant.

We went to this place for dinner with my kid! For me this place is absolute no-no for kids. Ambience was bad, toilet was dirty! Dosas and chutneys was very average.. Not a very pleasant experience for me!

Me and my husband normally go to ahaa dosa if we want to have dosas. The food s tasty. But sometimes we have to wait long for food. The tomato chutney which they served us was sour and felt like it was spoiled. We complained about it and they changed it. Toilets were dirty and also there were no toilet tissues.Staff is friendly and polite.

I went to Ahaa Dosa this afternoon for a Masala Dosa,it was so horrible.Not crispy,hardly any masala and the sambar was just salty,nothing in it. The chef should be ashamed. When I mentioned it to the staff, The girl said I have to specify when I'm giving my order that I want a crispy dosa.Terrible place,don't go there.

Great selection of southern Indian dishes and helpful staff to guide you through the menu if it's unfamiliar. The steady trade shows that it's popular. Food is all cooked fresh and is delicious. Try the Rasam Vadai!

Highly unhygienic place. The service is very poor and the owners/manager even worse.I went with my family and was disappointed with water splashed everywhere near the washrooms and he place slippery and stinking. Further on ordering some beverages, starters and mains, none of them arrived for 45 mins. A cup of tea taking 45 mins that too for ready made tea which was being reheated. The starters came after the mains and the beverage was forgotten. After reminding the waitress, she said she forgot and did not know what was happening in the kitchen. I returned the dishes.Further on highlighting this to the management, I was told that since things are taking so long, I had the option of walking out which I indeed did but was still told I will be charged for the things I had ordered, which I paid for. The managers / owners were very rude and disgraceful and did not take any effort to mend the issue. I had gone after hearing that this was a decent place, but sorry to say, the council should be shutting down such unhygienic places.Avoid this place, unless u are interested in having meals in a place which is unhygienic, has dirty cutlery and has management and staff whose attitude needs to be avoided like a plague.....There are better places for meals in Hounslow.
