Arrow Farm Cafe Diner in Bolsover

I had an all day breakfast, the sausages were hard and dry inside obviously they had been pre cooked and were only just luke warm, the bacon was undercooked and once again only just warm. The “grilled” tomato had been flashed on the griddle and was still hard and cold. The mushrooms were swimming in liquid in a ramekin dish once again barely warm, the baked beans were warm and edible. The fried egg was crispy on the edges and the yolk was undercooked once again cold. I did point out all these issues to the waitress who offered to change the breakfast but as I had waited approximately 40 minutes for the first warm offering I was not prepared to wait any longer for a second attempt! We paid the bill and left, we paid in full and were charged for the breakfast even though 75% had been sent back to the kitchen. A total waste of money and customer feedback clearly not important! We will not be returning!

No complaints whatsoever, food very good, staff friendly, helpful and efficient. Would like to make one point, whilst we were there several people came just to use the toilet without sitting in the cafe or using the shop. This doesn't seem right.

Had a simple jacket potato, cheese and beans. Superb quality for a simple dish. Service excellent and friendly. Excellent prices. Deffo go!

Visited today for lunch with my son & Grandson ,had a lovely Gluten free meal lots choice followed by a gluten free st clementine cake which was delicious . Lovely food , place and staff .Thankyou it’s our favourite place to meet up .

My son and I went here this week for lunch. We had the special of BBQ chicken wrap, We both thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly and attentive they also have a large gluten free menu. The shop also has a large selection of food and gifts to choose from. Will definitely be back 😁

Arrived about 13:15 on a Sunday, and were seated quickly. Took a good 10 minutes for someone to come and take our order. Ordered a deluxe milkshake which was ice cream, shake, whipped cream and sprinkles. When it came, it was clearly just milk and powder, there was no ice cream. I complained and one lady took it away to make another while a different waitress thought it was a good idea to come over and basically argue with me about the milkshake I had ordered! Rude and not necessary! The second milkshake came, a lot colder and thicker and was clearly made correctly this time! Food took a good half hour to come to the table and the halloumi burger, wasn’t a burger, it was 2 thin slices of halloumi in a thick hard bun. Not worth the money, I had the contents of the chip fryer on my plate as well, as the chips were dripping in grease, and half of them were burnt, brown and crispy! My mum had the roast beef which she then regretted when she realised how tasteless it was! First time visiting, and will definitely be the last! Not good!

Have visited Arrow on a regular basis. Today I had the breakfast and my son had the omelette. He said it was lovely, however my breakfast was not the best. The egg was overcooked as the yolk was hard. One small overcooked sausage and an even smaller piece of bacon. They were all pre cooked sadly. Just felt like the quality and amount has reduced since my last visit. Will give them another go just to see if it’s just a one off.

Called here today at 11.30 told if we wanted to eat off of the lunch menu then we would have to wait until 12. At 12 someone came to take our order (4of us) told 40 minute wait. Food arrived at 12.45 my meat was cold, they took this back and said they would do some more. After waiting for a long time got told it would be ready soon, the other 3 had actually finished their meals. I said not to bother as I wasn’t going to eat on my own, was told oh we will not charge you, too right I am not paying for something I’ve not had. When we went to pay they made a big deal out of not charging for my meal!!!!. It was only a simple gammon so nothing complicated, felt very let down with the service and time it took to cook another meal. Don’t think I’ll be visiting again in a hurry.

This is a review of the shop. Overrated Overpriced Miserable staff Staff with no customer service or manners. Never again

I meet a good friend here every month and every time has been made special by attentive staff and good food. All staff are excellent but today was made especially special by Bev; I think she must be the manager as her manner was above and beyond what you might expect. My friend and I are awkward in that we talk too much but that did not phase Bev and she returned at least three times while we faffed about and the smile never dropped. The shop is also well worth a visit, I often come away with a gift or some Marfona potatoes that are grown on the farm. I feel for all the staff when I read a poor review for spurious reasons such as breakfast not being served at lunchtime.

Following a recommendation we decided to give this place a go, I really wish we hadn’t. We arrived at 1150 as we had a reservation for midday and were seated immediately, the restaurant wasn’t full by any means. We noticed on the menu that breakfast finished at 1130 but it was of no concern as by 1210 nobody had come to take our order. I had to go over to the till and request that somebody came to take our order as we had been waiting a considerable time. My wife asked if she could have two eggs on toast, although we were aware breakfast was finished, it didn’t seem much to ask as I was going to be having toast with mine, but the answer was an emphatic No! I ordered the all day breakfast which came with a grilled tomato, which I really don’t like, I asked if I could have tinned tomatoes, which appeared on the pre 1130 breakfast, the waitress kindly said she would ask. Whilst we we awaiting the arrival of our meals we noticed several plates of pre 1130 breakfast items were being delivered to adjacent tables. This could be for one of two reasons I assume, firstly it had taken more than 45 minutes to be served or secondly they were not happy with me having to request service. When my all day breakfast arrived it had a grilled tomato on it, not the tinned as I had requested, I assume they couldn’t be bothered to open a tin or had none left over from the pre 1130 breakfast. It was fairly obvious that the bacon and sausages were left over from breakfast as they were vastly overcooked, the bacon was like shoe leather and very salty, the sausage skins were so hard, it was difficult to cut through them and the taste was no better than a cheap supermarket sausage, which for a farm shop cafe left me quite shocked. Darfoulds garden Centre is only just down the road and the food and service are far superior, in future I think we shall not be bypassing them to go to Arrow Farm. It was hugely disappointing

This place is second to none... excellent breakfast, varied menu and swift, pleasant service....the place is clean with plenty of seating and ample parking...they also sell an array of meats, vegetable etc

Been so many times over the years with family and friends and recommended without hesitation. Never again. Went with family, asked when booking if we would still be able to have breakfast at 11.30, definitely told YES. We were sat at our table by 11.25, told too late for breakfast menu only all day breakfast available. Three of us ended up with bland sandwiches, with a tiny bowl of coleslaw. Even one of those had to be returned because ended up with brown bread instead of white. We waited 25mins from ordering drinks for them to be served. Apart from one waitress I didn’t recognise anyone, all seemed to be new staff. Not particularly busy at that time. A few weeks ago friends who we had introduced to Arrow Farm and who were very impressed returned with family who had drove from Lincoln only to be turned away, despite having booked because they had no electricity for a couple of days. Obviously not their fault but would have thought a message could have been left to save a wasted journey. They won’t be going again either. What a shame that somewhere really good seems to be quickly going downhill.

Really nice place to have a coffee, a bite to eat or a full meal. Also very good gluten-free menu for us Coeliacs! I enjoyed quiche with salad and coleslaw, friends had the lasagne and all day breakfast. It was very busy but the staff were very helpful and pleasant. Very nice shop to look round too, selling food, jams, chutneys, bread, pies and fruit and veg.

Front of house staff very efficient but had a extremely long wait for a very average breakfast very disappointed it was almost cold and egg’s had been under the heat lamp and gone hard

It was my 70th birthday with family and friends, the staff was very welcoming and could not do enough for me. Thank you to them all they made the start of my day really special. A special mention to manager Sue who organised my perfect morning. Once again a big thankyou.

Often visit this lovely farm shop and restaurant, and haven't had a bad experience at any time. Breakfast, lunches, snacks or drinks have all been delicious, well presented, and promptly served. Our most recent visit for a late breakfast was as good as ever; I can recommend the French toast with maple and bacon, & smashed avocado on sourdough. Service was friendly and prompt, and we were checked on a couple of times. I am aware they have recently had staffing issues, and did not visit during this time, but they are definitely back to their usual high standards.

Visited the cafe and had a brief browse in the farm shop on Friday afternoon. The service from Louise and Jayne was amazing and the food was thoroughly enjoyed by us! I had the all day breakfast which was lovely, and the other two opted for Chicken Gyros, both raved about how nice it was. The farm shop, is adorable! Will be back soon!

We stumbled across this lovely farm café on route to elsewhere and had a lovely lunch. The service was great, especially Bev. The menu had a good selection of meat and veggie dishes. The cafe it's self is light and bright, clean, and modern. Today it was lovely and warm too especially as it was so wet and cold outside. The farm shop had lovely produce and a nice little selection of gifts. We'll definitely be going back.

went for lunch and had a sandwich and lemon merigue which was dry and old asked for a scone which stated fresh home made scones with cream wasnt home made dry and the cream wasnt fresh whipped cream but clotted cream sent that back was reluctant to pay for any of my order sandwich dry bread round edges and limp salad not happy coffee was tepid and staff look untidy long false nails which should not be allowed in catering or dealing with food unpleasant experience never go again.

Our first visit today and we were really impressed we had called at the cemetery at Warsop as it was my mums anniversary of her passing so we wanted somewhere different for our late lunch. It was really busy and after a short wait we were shown to a nice quiet table our order was soon taken from a very extensive menu we decided to have the Sunday roast of beef or chicken we had the beef. And wow it was really really good plenty of beef with mash n roast potato’s carrots cabbage broccoli n a big Yorkshire pudding All fresh good quality food then I had a treacle pudding n custard n my husband had a banoffee waffle Delicious ,, washed down with a speckled hen for hubby and a glass of ros’e for me. Then a quick look round the farm shop just before closing time we shall certainly be calling in again when in the area as we live nr Newark But will make the journey to this special place Compliments to all the nice friendly staff who are doing a splendid job We shall see you all very soon

I visit Arrow Farm regularly and the staff are very welcoming. I have to say after reading one review saying the staff in the shop are rude. They definitely are not.Rude is a strong word I just want to say busy staff are not rude staff.The staff here have been brilliant with my 90yr old father even giving him there mug because he cannot hold the cups. I have hosted a few dinner parties and the shop staff and butchers have been very helpful and have catered for my needs.I can not fault the staff here.Try it and see, if you engage the staff they will definitely sort out your demands.

Myself, wife and daughter use Arrow farm regularly for early breakfast the food is always good and reasonably priced, the staff are cheerful polite and attentive.It is a popular venue and does get busy at peak times, although you can book a table in advance. We highly recommend you give them a try.

We visit often when we are up this way becuse the food in the cafe is always good and home cooked but the shop OMG.... I have experienced this so many times I have to leave this review. The shop staff are possibly the rudest I have ever come across. When you go to the till it almost like you have walked in to their front room and disturbed their peace, they are impatient, almost throwing items as they rush to scan them. The man is by far the worst but the lady we had last time was not much better. Sort this out Arrow farm it’s spoiling was is a lovely Farm shop and a cafe.

Decided to try arrow farm for breakfast as we have eaten here on many occasions for lunch and snacks and have never been disappointed,, well the breakfast did not disappoint it was lovely. It was mega busy and a few minutes we where shown to a nice table by the window, the service was a bit disorganised if I'm honest, but the staff where working hard, however the food was lovely, I couldn't believe the portion sizes, great taste, even the salad and coleslaw was great... And the price was unbelievable value for money, all in all it was lovely...The other half says can you please add more "homemade" gluten free cakes as that would have finished her lovely meal off perfectly

The worst Sunday lunch I have ever been served. The beef was so overdone you couldn't cut through it. Potatoes so over boiled they were sloppy/watery. Frozen veg still frozen. Yorkshire pudding tasted of old fat. Never again.

We eat here fairly regularly and have never had a bad meal yet. For locally made, tasty, good food I can highly recommend this place. Word of warning: it can be busy at lunchtime on weekends, so if it's a special occasion or you need to eat at a particular time, phone and reserve a table. You won't be disappointed.

Called in on a journey from Lincoln to Leek. Lemon meringue pie not good, thick, soggy pastry and the filling so glutinous it needed a knife. The meringue was the best bit. Hubby asked for a mince pie but the one they brought looked so unappetising he said he wouldn’t bother. The staff were not very friendly and really slow. Don’t think we’ll be visiting again!

What a lovely service the waitresses were fabulous, so friendly and helpful. The food was good. I had burger with delicious chutney although my burger was a little overcooked and hard, but the chips were delicious. My sister had steak slice which she said was lovely. My husband had gammon which he enjoyed especially the chips again. We will go again.

We had the homemade soup & sandwiches. Tasty & nicely served. Busy place so be prepared for some waiting time. However as busy as it was we waited only 7/8 monutes for our food. Cheerful staff who were very sociable. Clean & spacious around tables. This return visit will not be our last. Thank you!

Farm fresh produce is served in the cafe diner, you will not be disappointed by the choice, quality and value of it. Always a busy place, which is a great sign of returning customers.

Myself and my partner called at the Arrow Farm Shop recently for breakfast. Having placed the order we waited almost half an hour until our meal arrived. When the breakfast arrived it was lukewarm and my partner’s bacon was almost all fat.

We called in on spec for a mid afternoon break to our cycle ride. The waitresses soon found us a table and we ordered tea and scones. They were excellent and good value. Will visit again.

Surprised we managed to get in at Arrow Farm as it always seems to be busy and I can now see why. Plenty on the menu all looked home cooked. Hot meals and also a lighter menu, sandwiches etc. The all day breakfast looked huge! I had the fish and chips which was the tastiest I've had for a while, my husband had steak pie which he enjoyed also. The staff are friendly and attentive. Prices comparable with other eateries and overall a nice place to eat.

Took grandson Henry for breakfast, his favourite place, once again the food was delicious, full English breakfast, service excellent and prices very reasonable in a nice relaxed atmosphere.
