Basement Cafe & Bakery in Birmingham

I eat at Don Diego in Birmingham. It is Spanish restaurant and food is very good. I feel like in Spain. I try tapas and they are delicious. My favorite is patatas bravas and calamari. The restaurant is small but nice. Decoration is like Spain and music is good. I feel comfortable. Staff is friendly and they help me choose food. I speak little English, they are patient and kind. I recommend Don Diego for people who like Spanish food. It is good place for eat and enjoy.

Booked an evening meal here with three of my friends, we meet up occasionally for food and drinks. We work locally and picked Rustic Table as fancied tapas. We were all really impressed. The restaurant is small and friendly, the staff are lovely - the lady who served us even showed us a bit of sign language she knew (one of my friends with us is Deaf and uses BSL to communicate). Small gesture but welcomed. The food was amazing, we ordered 3 bowls each which was just right. The octopus and lamb kofta…I’m still thinking about those now! Delicious. We will booking with you again when we meet up in Spring. Maybe this time we will get the train so we can sample the cocktails!

Tuvimos una comida increíble aquí! El pollo kobeedah, cordero kobeedah y joojeh estaban perfectamente cocinados y llenos de sabor. El halloumi también estaba delicioso, crujiente por fuera y suave por dentro. El arroz era muy suave y complementaba los platos perfectamente. Además de la excelente comida, el servicio fue fabuloso — amable, atento y acogedor. Sin duda volveremos y lo recomiendo a cualquiera que busque una gran experiencia gastronómica!

A great place to enjoy a Saturday lunch. The food is absolutely delicious, and we loved every single dish we ordered. The coffee was excellent. service was slightly slow for both food and drinks, but the quality was not compromised.
