You would think it would be easy. The Toasties are pre-prepared, and all they have to do is put them in the toastie griddle, heat up, add some salad to the plate, and hey presto. We waited thirty minutes then asked what was happening. After apologies we got two toasties delivered, not the brown bread ones we picked out and handed to them, but two white ones. After waiting another 10 minutes they arrived, they were more like breadies than toasties as they had not been left in long enough. The salad on the plate was wilting, and the coleslaw was watery and tasteless. All in all, not a place I will be revisiting, which is a shame as we spend a lot of time in the Aberfoyle area.

We have been to Aberfoyle on many occasions but only had lunch once or twice due to the time we were visiting at. We always visit The Scottish Wool Centre and after checking out another pub/restaurant,after looking at the prices we decided on trying the Ben Lomond Restaurant within The Scottish Wool Centre,we were greeted by Lara who took our order and was very helpful & friendly. We didn't have to wait long at all for our food to arrive and again the staff were very good asking if we needed anything else which was mustard and it was brought within minutes. The food itself was excellent, the beef in the steak pie was top quality, chips were fabulous and served with peas. The prices on the menu are very reasonable indeed.good choice, relaxed atmosphere. I would recommend it if you are visiting on a day trip then this is the place for lunch,The Scottish Wool Centre has many good bargains also.

After sometime walking in the Forrest our family of five decided we should eat. We sadly stopped at The Ben Lomond resteraunt if we were not so peckish we so would not have stayed . Firstly the staff were exhausted looking and of very little use. Most of the menu was off (alarm bells), no chips or hot food. We chose soup sandwich option, cold soup consistency of baby food cheap white bread and the sandwich fillers were so bad our dog would not eat them.we were so shocked and disappointed that beautiful place like Aberfoyle could serve up muck like that. My mother was violently sick hours after eating here, save yourself the bother and starve if necessary.

This is a superb place to stop for something to eat and then to browse the extensive selection of Scottish gifts and quality clothing. We visited on New Years day for what has become an annual event. We start the day with morning coffee and freshly baked scones in the restaurant before starting our new years day walk. Once we have completed our walk we return to the restaurant for large bowl of delicious home made soup. The soup here never disappoints and is made fresh on the premises each morning. Our visit this year was on a rather miserable wet and windy day, but we were met by cheerful staff wishing us a happy new year. They more than made up for the weather. The Manager was very friendly and took time to talk to the customers wishing each a happy new year. He and his team at the Scottish Wool Centre are real asset to the company who operate this centre. The centre is an animal active centre for much of the year where kids can find out more about sheep, goats and the various wild foul. There are regular displays in the summer months when the Geese and ducks put on their show. This place is well worth a visit and even more so when the clothing and gift shop has a sale.

In the past month I have had a friend stay in the Kirkhouse, his room was immaculate and ticked all boxes. My experience was in the bar having a brilliant steak pie. Most recently my wife and I visited the Indian restaurant on offer. Our food was 5 star as was the service and atmosphere. Food, service and overall experience to rival even the best (and most expensive) hotel / restaurants we have visited.

Stayed for 2 nights with our dog with a Wowcher. Room nice, quite small but no issues, view over to the Loch Restaurant was lovely, ate here on both nights. Large portions which we enjoy! The full breakfast wasn’t great but there are many other options - porridge, continental, cereals, yoghurts etc. Lovely building inside, very well presented Gorgeous receptionist Justine, lovely welcome Easy reach to other areas by car (I heard someone say there is a bus that goes along) All in all lovely stay. Great value with the Wowcher, dinner and breakfast.

It is with my upmost disappointment that if it weren’t for the price point of the items I would have thought I was in a Tesco cafe.
