Most pathetic people working here. This is Claude Bosi and I dined at his sister restaurant. The office office of Claude Bosi which is the number this restaurant went to, won’t speak to me on my credit card being charged without my consent. I’ve literally never seen this type of behaviour in London or any top restaurant in the world for this matter. They just ghost you by phone and email. I’ve had to resort to complaining to the council and filing a small courts claim against Claude Bosi. It seems quite a scandal because there are just so many Google reviews where this has happened to other customers and this will be great evidence for when this goes to Claude’s lawyer. I look forward to it.

I made a booking at Claude’s new Josephine. There is no number to call to modify or cancel booking. They just took £100 off my card automatically when I have been trying to change my booking for the last 2 days. How can a restaurant not have a phone number? It’s daylight robbery and Claude should be ashamed.

Our family had an afternoon lunch and really enjoyed the uniqueness of the room with the stain glass features. The service was a little slow and the pacing of serving the courses could have been expedited. My daughter really enjoyed her experience however my husband was less enthusiastic about his. I personally found the vegetarian meal lovely. She loved the foie gras in an ice cream cone!

The Best Restaurant – truly the finest restaurants we have ever enjoyed. I’ve reviewed over 500 restaurants on Trip Advisor, and this is at the top of our list. Th quality of the food (presentation and taste) and service were truly remarkable. We had appetizers: shrimp & “duck jelly” – a brilliant presentation of caviar. For mains: we had the deer & beef – cooked perfectly. Dessert: chocolate souffle & English apple torte. When we return to London, we will dine there again.

This Michelin-starred restaurant, unfortunately, left the weakest impression on our culinary journey. Despite having experienced several 3-star establishments in the weeks prior, this one lacked personality and failed to deliver a memorable experience, especially considering its high price point. The atmosphere was the most striking aspect, and not in a good way. It felt incredibly stiff and overly managed, with a palpable tension in the air. While the manager may not necessarily be at fault, his strong personality seemed to intimidate the rest of the staff, creating an uncomfortable dynamic. There was a distinct lack of warmth and genuine hospitality, with the focus solely on getting the food out, rather than creating an enjoyable dining experience. To add to our disappointment, we encountered a misunderstanding regarding the menu and pricing, which led to an incorrect charge. While the manager initially offered a refund at the restaurant, they later denied the incident occurred when we followed up via email. This lack of accountability left a sour taste. If I could do it all over again, knowing the experience I went through, I would either stick to their Oyster Bar or simply allocate my 1,000 GBP elsewhere for a more fulfilling culinary experience. It's unfortunately not even something that I would aspire to try.

I really wish I could give this a higher rating. My husband and I love food and fine dining (and all dining really!) but this experience was pretty disappointing. My father gifted us a credit to go here as a Christmas/anniversary present, knowing our foodie tendencies. I was so excited hearing about his previous stellar experiences. Our dinner started out pretty well, the amuse bouches were very lovely and the staff were attentive. The first 5ish courses of our 7 course meal were served in about 1.2 hours, a pace that didn’t feel rushed but felt very attentive. The last courses stretched out over more than 2 hours. It was agonizing. We only got two glasses of wine each the whole dinner, so it wasn’t like we were caught up in wine and gossip. It was fairly difficult to even get a server’s attention. While the food was fine enough, nothing as incredible as vouched but still fair enough. However, the service was such that it felt almost personal in its disinterest. We had to ask for our check twice and it still took about a half hour just to get the check. This is one example of what felt pretty unreasonable at the price point Bibendum has. To specify, we were upstairs in the two Michelin star restaurant My family members have all had amazing experiences at other times, but I cannot say the same for mine. I can’t even compare this to the other Michelin star restaurants, and it still is disappointing compared to some “merely” very very nice restaurants I’ve been to. I wish I could say different.

I would give 0 stars for service if possible. I’ve been to a number of Michelin starred restaurants - both 1 and 2 stars - and Claude Bosi is not nearly the caliber of those other restaurants. The food was fine. While it was definitely a nice meal, there was very little variety, everything was on the heavier / richer side, and the different courses didn’t seem to compliment each other very well or have a good flow. The last course, dessert, was honestly bad. It was little more than applesauce in a waxy white chocolate shell. However, what really ruined the experience for me was the service. As a 2 Michelin star restaurant I expect the service to be impeccable and personal. Claude Bosi failed to meet that expectation. We got the 7 course tasting menu, and waited 30ish minutes between the last 3 courses, at times feeling like we had been forgotten about. It was very difficult to get staff attention so we could order another glass of wine, or even just to get the check to cash out. When we were able to get the attention of the staff, they either forgot our requests and had to come back to be reminded or took 10-20 minutes to fulfill them. For what was supposed to be a delightful Christmas celebration that I was really excited about, I ended up regretful of our decision to come here, more excited to leave at the end of the meal than about the meal itself. Major disappointment. Would not recommend for those looking for a meal in this class, go somewhere else.

I came to Bibendum not realizing it was a two star Michelin restaurant. Luckily I was wearing a shirt! I was in London for the Christmas holidays and we had booked something for lunch ... We visited it on a Sunday at lunch and took the Market Menu at 85 pounds, which was very good value for money. We selected one additional dish with black truffle, which fully met the expectations. The setting is iconic and every detail refers back to the original story of the building (the Michelin UK headquarters and tyre depot). The staff was top and managed some difficulties with external guests in a superb way. Not everybody going to a Michelin star restaurant is fit for it. I love the people who save money to pay for the gastronomic menu; I hate the people who go to a such a restaurant and think they have to shout. The Italian maître and sommelier did an excellent job, alongside the chefs in the ktichen.

As a couple who have lived in London for the past five years, we have made it our goal to experience the city’s finest dining establishments, particularly those recognized with Michelin stars. Having visited notable establishments such as Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester, Sketch, and Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, as well as exploring hidden gems and local tastes, we approached our visit to Claude Bosi at Bibendum with high expectations, especially given its prestigious two-star rating. Unfortunately, the experience fell significantly short of what we consider to be a Michelin-worthy standard. The meal’s price-performance ratio was, frankly, unacceptable. We opted for the 5-course tasting menu but decided to replace two dishes with the restaurant’s signature chicken. However, this adjustment was poorly managed. Instead of replacing the selected dishes, the two courses were still included in the final bill along with the additional chicken, effectively charging us for two courses we did not consume. Such an oversight at a restaurant of this caliber is inexcusable and left a sour taste. While we are fortunate not to have financial constraints, paying a premium comes with an expectation of impeccable service, precision, and accountability—qualities sorely lacking here. For the price we paid, we could have dined at Alain Ducasse or Anne-Sophie Pic, both of which have consistently delivered extraordinary experiences worthy of their stars. In this case, however, the food at Bibendum was far from exceptional. While some dishes showed technical skill, the overall experience felt uninspired, lacking the wow factor and harmony one expects at this level. The signature chicken, despite its fame, was underwhelming and failed to justify the hype surrounding it. The overall experience was more akin to a one-star restaurant, with neither the creativity nor the attention to detail to merit a higher distinction. Service is often what sets two-star and three-star restaurants apart, and this is where Bibendum failed most notably. While the atmosphere of the historic Michelin House is undoubtedly charming, the service was inconsistent and impersonal. When Claude Bosi himself served the signature chicken, we were genuinely honored and requested a photo to commemorate the moment. He graciously promised to return for the photo, but this never happened. This small but significant interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional. As guests who value the artistry and hospitality of Michelin-starred chefs, this incident came across as arrogant and disrespectful. Dining at a Michelin-starred restaurant is about more than just food; it is about the overall experience—the attention to detail, the warmth of service, and the sense of occasion. Unfortunately, none of these elements were present. What should have been a celebratory Christmas experience felt transactional and uninspired, leaving us with a sense of regret rather than joy. Claude Bosi at Bibendum did not live up to its two-star rating. While the restaurant benefits from its illustrious location and chef’s reputation, the experience we had was far from the Michelin standard we have come to expect. The culinary creativity was lacking, the service fell short of any notion of excellence, and the price-performance ratio was abysmal. For us, a Michelin-starred restaurant is not just a meal but a story, a celebration of culinary artistry, and an experience worth remembering. Claude Bosi at Bibendum, unfortunately, provided none of these, and as such, we cannot recommend it as a two-star destination. For those seeking truly transformative dining experiences in London, we would suggest looking elsewhere—where your time, money, and palate will be treated with the respect they deserve.

Fantastic experience; we had the five course tasting menu which was absolutely amazing. Faultless service from start to finish - with a nut allergy perfectly catered for (as you’d hope and expect!). Nice atmosphere. Luckily we’re not big drinkers as ordering wine by the glass is not cheap especially as they’re a 125ml pour. Would recommend for a special occasion.

I was looking to host a peer to peer group in the little room upstairs, so I visited the venue with my kids and a friend a few weeks ago to see what it was like and we had lunch, overall, the venue suited our purpose. Hoping that we can host an event with them for a few hours a monrth, but they don't seem to call people back or reply to emails, which is a shame.

I would give more stars if I could to Bibendum. As the first stop on my partner and i’s Michelin food tour, they really set the standard that has been honestly unmatched so far. Every dish was so incredible and a complete amalgamation of technique, creativity, fresh produce and deliciousness. From the minute you walk in the door, the staff go above and beyond to take care of you and it really felt like a personally catered experience. Even the complimentary little starter as you arrive was simply divine, showing an attention to detail and a true passion and love for food and the dining experience. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone whether you’re a foodie or not. 20/10

A very disappointing experience. When making a reservation for lunch we were told only 12.30 was available. When we arrived we were told the lift to the restaurant could not be used as there is a problem with the insurance. When we did arrive, having walked up a steep staircase, there was no one in the restaurant and later only three other tables were filled during the entire time we were there. Service was condescending, unfriendly, unhelpful, and even surly, and the wait between courses was extremely long. When we asked what was in the market menu, we were told it was to be “a surprise” and we could/would not be told in advance what it would consist of so that made it difficult to order wine and difficult to know whether or not one wanted to order it. We did, and what a mistake! The food was overly precious and each course was preceded with a five paragraph description. The pepper mill did not work and was grudgingly removed. Courses and plates arrived on an oversized tray held by a non-white waiter and then removed by a white waiter to be served to us. The restaurant’s signature egg dish was undistinguished, there were no fresh vegetables, and the main course was tiny bright pink cake of veal. A fig tart for dessert was presented in a chocolate casing - the two flavors were not in any way complementary and a pastry case would have been more appropriate . All this made it a meal easy to and hard to forgive.

Michelin's first overseas headquarters. Except for the barbecue steak on the last weekend, everything was normal. It didn't feel like it had two Michelin stars. The beef soaked in champagne and then pan-fried was more delicious than the cooked steak. I said the steak was 5 minutes rare. But it was so raw that it felt like drinking blood and the steak was grilled very poorly.

Service was great and staff were very kind. Food was well below what you’d expect in a two Michelin star. The cheese bread was nice but a bit reminded me of being hosted by friends who warmed something in the oven. The only dish that was amazing was the lobster dish. The añaloti dish was full of dill, you couldn’t taste any foie gras. The dessert was really bad, none of us liked the sauce or really understood the point of the dessert, one person did like the ice cream next to it. The plum cake/pastry wasn’t tasty at all. The bread and butter were quite good. But overall really missed a wow factor for such an expensive meal

Not the Bibendum of a few years ago! Once was quite special…seems to be drafting off of the past reputation. Still “ok”….but not a destination at this time. Food was fair. Call to make sure the upstairs are open—as that can change without notice. Downstairs garage is loud and service uneven. Food is average at best.

Disappointing, especially the service. Drinks arrived late, after I had finished the main course. The manager, Jerome, said this was because we ordered drinks late, which was not true. 3 waiters asked for our drinks order and then told us there was a glitch in their system. Even so, not good enough. Won’t be returning. Fish and chips is mediocre. Chopped salad is okay. Nothing special for the price. Wouldn’t recommend , much better options in local area.

Lo que hace que un restaurante sea genial no es solo comida de primera clase, sino servicio de primera clase. My husband and I enjoyed a fantastic evening at Bibendum. We started off with champagne in the downstairs bar and were then escorted upstairs to our table in the restaurant by a very welcoming Rudolph. We chose the 3 course a la carte menu and were also surprised with several delicious amuse bouche. The food and service was exceptional as was the vast wine list and the restaurant itself is a fantastically unique art deco venue. An invitation to visit the kitchen was a lovely touch and post dinner cocktails served by Ivan was a fantastic way to end our evening. Huge thanks to Lorenzo and his team who could not have been more professional. The whole experience was outstanding and we will definitely return.

I’ve been coming to Bibendum since the great Simon Hopkinson Hopkinson opened it. Indeed we all had lunch with Elizabeth David there who declared it the best restaurant in the country. While the food style has changed to a more complex tradition, the food was utterly delicious. We went for the three course A La Carte but there were numerous wonderful amuse bouche so it must have been 10 different taste experiences. The staff were completely charming and made us feel so welcome. The room is still one of the most beautiful in London. We will put it on our favourite restaurant rota.

Los cócteles y las bebidas eran buenos. Como la comida. Comí sarro de bistec (¿sin huevo?) y pescado monje ambos eran excelentes. Mi esposa tiene un taramasalata tipo batido que es excelente, pero probablemente podría compartir para 2 personas y un filete - excelente. Estábamos sentados dentro y casi solos, que se sentía un poco raro, pero estaba bien. El servicio era mixto y claramente tienen un problema para esperar en el personal. La dama india que trajo la factura fue excelente al igual que la dama local. Algunos de los otros necesitaban entrenamiento - todos eran agradables. Sin duda volveremos.

An accumulation of service mistakes generated a mediocre experience, and makes us seriously question the self-attributed 2 stars. For example: A few minutes after we are seated a friend of ours is competing live for an olympic medal - a must watch. The waiter then displays obvious signs of frustration not to have our full attention, and leaves annoyed, not to return for a while. "Gougères" are served with hot liquid cheese inside, very unusual. Nobody tells us. I bite in one, drop liquid cheese of my jacket. Nobody helps. A glass of Domaine de Chevalier 2010 (GBP60 per glass) is served half full as the bottle is empty, the wine is oxidized and undrinkable, the sommelier serves and leaves. I have to call him back. That was the last bottle. And more ... Mediocrity overall. The nights before, we were at "Les 110 de Taillevent" and at "Beast": no Michelin stars, superb experiences.

We had the x7 course taster menu & all courses were wonderful as was the service, interior & ambiance. As fortunate foodies we have dined at some of the best 2& 3 star restaurants around the world & would include Bibendum in this list. Location wise Sth Kensington is also perfect, being less frantic than some of the other great London dining experiences. Also a must see for anyone interested in fine buildings ! Highly recommend!

My partner and I enjoyed the experience at the restaurant Claude Bosi but shortly after leaving the establishment both of us had very bad FOOD POISONING. The meal was the common dominator as we both ate in different places previous few days and must be the meal we had at the restaurant. We ordered the tasting menu and wine and expected the meal to be perfect for a Michelin star restaurant. The experience and service was good but shortly on our way back home we both started being unwell. Food alert was contracted by Claude Bosi for investigation but because we didn’t take sample, and the other “diner” was ok, our case was quickly dismissed (My partner didn’t even have the time and chance to return the investigation form, and the case was closed). Note that because it was the England football game they only had 3 or 4 tables that night. The reason provided just didnt make sense and Claude Bosi DID NOT even CARE and just push it to their own investigator.

Excellent all around. Loved the Michelin tire theme that must make the Michelin guide folks proud. Only blemish of the evening was the overcharge that my wife nor I did not initially catch. Restaurant manager, Mr. Lorenzo Bigicchi called and promptly offered a refund. Overall, a superbly excellent meal.

"Today i went The Oyster Bar for my lunch, they offers a delightful selection of fresh seafood, especially their oysters which were exceptionally fresh and flavorful. The ambiance was perfect for a seafood dining experience, especially outdoors. However, the service was a letdown. Despite the 15% service charge, our waitress seemed overwhelmed and was not attentive talking with their own co-workers as she introduced herself as a head waitress. It took multiple attempts to get her attention for ordering and the check. Despite the service hiccup, the quality of the oysters and ambiance make it worth a visit, with hopes that the service improves."

We visited for the GBP75 three course lunch in late april and there were three of us. There are great things about this venue: The architecture of the building, the tiles on the outside walls, the room itself and its themed decor, the stained glass, I need to repeat becasue its so impressive, the stained glass. The consistently themed, and very quaint, touches that include the butter dish, the table support, the salt and pepper shakers, the egg cup. For all of these reasons you we want to come back and recommend it to friends. The service is of a matching quality. We found all the staff to be warm and friendly. While the atmosphere and service was great the food was good to very good. We felt it was just a little less than atmosphere and service. Loved the egg. The green dish that followed I think was pasta and a bit heavy....claggy for my taste. Dessert was very good. AUD628 for three, one glass of wine, 15% service charge inc water/coffees. I considered that it was good value. We will go bakc.

Beautiful setting, attentive service. Elegant presentation and incredible attention to detail. Highlights of the meal were the amuse bouches and our first course. After that, everything was good, but not "OMG!!! This is the best thing I've ever tasted!" good. To put it another way, we've had food this good for 1/4 to 1/2 the price, although not so beautifully presented. In short, this was a new record spend for us, but did not break into the top 5 meals we've ever had. It is an experience that lasts a very comfortable 2.5-3 hours. No rush, no snooty attitudes (often associated with such a high scoring restaurant). Better food is available for less; better service and more artistic presentation would be much harder to find.

My wife and I ordered the 7 courses tasting menu and a bottle of Burgundy white. Each course was served on a timely interval and presented by the staff with precision and explained to us of the preparation and its ingredients of each dish. The taste of each dish was out of this world! Layer and layer of favor with each bite were there. Wonderful restaurant! Highly recommended.

Absolutely incredible experience! Would strongly recommend 7 course tasting menu. My mom and I went here to experience the food and the building and did not leave disappointed. The staff was very friendly and able to accomodate my food allergy (pescetarian gf) requirements no problem. Every single dish that came out exceeded expectations and was delightful. The antique Michelin dishes they use to serve the food were such fun surprises next to the unique flavors of each course. Our somm Freddie was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and guided us through multiple glasses of wine per our individual tastes. The building itself is a lovely example of early 20th c architecture with incredible stained glass pieces of the Michelin man. Where the restaurant lacked in maybe ‘trending’ decor it made up for in the architecture, food, service, and antique Michelin artifacts. We left the restaurant incredibly full, happy, and impressed. Well worth the high ticket for the memories.

This week was a culinary adventure around London. I got the chance to try so many nice establishments around town. Though the service was fine and the architecture of the building was unique, gnats infested our table and the servers didn’t care. Of the 5 courses I had, 4 were horrible. Despite having a horrendous experience (didn’t finish key courses) and sharing the constructive feedback with the manager, the restaurant still charged the cost of the full meal.

Hamburguesa estándar realmente - no vale la pena la publicidad. Básicamente el estándar Five Guys. Servicio bastante basura - se queda esperando por edades en cada etapa. Subieron a pedir después de esperar un rato, para que les dijeran que venían a la mesa. Otra vez esperé un poco por la cuenta, así que subimos a pagar en el mostrador. Conseguimos hacer mal nuestro pedido para 2 hamburguesas y 2 patatas fritas (una regular, una raclette) - incluso después de comprobar si tenían más salsa de raclette (confirmaron que sí). Terminó con un pimentón y uno normal. El personal no parece importarle y hasta cierto punto no puedo culparlos, el servicio no está incluido y solo hay un cuadro de propinas no obvio en el mostrador. Hay chips en el piso y los baños no están limpios (el agua y las tuberías expuestas te regañarán si no tienes cuidado). Los asientos de abajo parecían un poco bobos. ‘Pan horneado fresco a diario’ dice encima de la cocina. Vi a un camarero abriendo un paquete de plástico de bollos de hamburguesa. Todos los sellos distintivos de una empresa cínica por alguien que hace mucho con ella. No olvide que puede obtener un 10% de descuento en su factura si escribe una reseña.

I had a good meal close to my hotel. The restaurant gives free little poppadoms. I was surprised when it was time to pay. I asked to add a tip to my credit card payment, and the waiter said you can’t. I was then going to give a cash tip but saw the receipt said ‘we operate a no tip policy’. I asked the manager what that means. He said ‘We are all well compensated. We ask customers not to tip, but to come back again’. How refreshing!
