Bingsoo Cafe in Kingston upon Thames

Visited here early afternoon by myself and cafe was pretty empty. Asked for a mango bingsoo and matcha latte. The lady recommended getting a smaller bingsoo in a takeaway cup. Once received, i sat down and started to eat. The same lady rushed over within a few minutes and ordered me to leave. Strange way to treat a paying customer. Especially considering the cafe was empty, i paid over £10 and was her recommendation. Have to say Bingsoo was nice but shame about the staff! Wont be returning anytime soon.

A good restaurant that King Charles also visited. It's as delicious as shaved ice eaten in Korea.

Tasty Bingsoo! It's a shame that the rice cakes flavour is sold out (around 7pm), I will definitely return to try that 😋 The original flavour is also highly recommended.

Very disappointed by the customer service when I visited on 23rd of December about 12. The old lady served coffee and I asked for a takeaway cup. She was very emotional glanced at me few second and through the cup to the sink. Other customers also shocked by the noise when she threw the cup. I don’t think I will go to this coffee shop again.

Very cute place and very nice and polite staff. We loved them! They even helped us organising a very little birthday party for our friend which was last minute. Couldn’t feel more welcome than this! Also, the photo booth was like a cherry on the top of all of it!! ❤️❤️

Best sponge cake I ever had. My husband and I went the first time and loved the spongy cakes and its cream, which has delicious flavour and not too very sweet. Just brilliant to our liking. Also, please try the pistachio crepe , they were something from different planet. We loved it so much that we went another day to try different flavours and took it away .

Enjoyed the bingsoo here, really great tasting combinations. However it gets very busy and so service somewhat lacking and not much of an atmosphere with cramped seating.

The bingsoo was really good! However the strawberry shortcake was abit not to the level I expected- the sponge felt stiff. But that could be because I visited at 8pm. Regardless good food!

I like the atmosphere here, you order at the counter and get your buzzer first, then pick your own seat. There were some people studying there so I felt completely comfortable eating bingsoo by myself. This is my first time having bingsoo, it is nothing like a slushy, the ice is so finely shaved and similar to snowflakes texture, just melts in your mouth and you could barely feel it. As a matcha lover the matcha bingsoo I had satisfied my dessert craving, strong flavour of matcha from the ice cream and topping, plenty of red beans (some on top and some at the bottom) created a perfect blend, the milky syrup was a great addition because I could pour it in bit by bit as I devour the dessert and even out the bitterness from matcha. This is my new favourite dessert. The portion is quite generous, came in a normal size bowl, having had lunch beforehand I was stuffed after eating it all by myself. There’s definitely enough to share as a two if you have a small appetite.

Great coffee, lovely cakes. Waited a long time for a seat as it was busy. But coffee and deserts were worth the wait...

Please do something about the toilets. I come here often and the state of the toilets has been progressively deteriorating. For such a high traffic cafe surely you can invest some resources into providing hygienic and sanitary restroom facilities. alternatively just close them - this is unacceptable.

I’m very disappointed with the experience at this cafe. I was excited to try their bingsoo, but after three visits, I could only order it once! The first time was excellent, but the second time, I arrived to be told that last orders had already been taken much earlier than expected. On my third visit, they informed me they had run out of bingsoo base. It’s a bingsoo cafe which means bingsoo should be available or at least have consistent availability hours. I drove 30 min from home just for the bingsoo but have always been crushed with disappointments.

The dessert was good. The place can get busy in certain times

Bingsoo will always be a favourite dessert. Place is almost always busy with limited space but still worth the visit.

even though some of the tables are a bit dirty and not cleaned up quickly/properly, the cake is AMAZING!!! literally get every single flavour it is THAT GOOD you wont regret it i promise :)

Loved the coffee cup bingsoo and ham & cheese panini!✨✨ The portion of the panini was bigger than I expected, and I was completely full when I finished it—perfect for a hearty breakfast or lunch! This time, I tried the coffee cup bingsoo (I've had the matcha one before), and both are fantastic. I especially love the shaved iced milk! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable café with refreshing and pretty Korean desserts!

Everytime I have visited here it has always been busy and without a doubt the first challenge is to find a seat for your group of friends/family, but beside that it's a pretty good place for coffee, cake and bingsoo. It also has a photo booth section where you can take photos which is quite good if you want to make a memorable moment with a someone.

It's a nice place but I didn't get the best experience because of overcrowding on a Saturday. Absolutley no tables left inside and the lack of ventilation made the air a bit muggy inside.

This is a great place for BingSoo and a hot drink. We had the mango BingSoo which was delicious. They have a photo booth and dressing up stuff for those that like that sort of thing.

Only four stars because they gave too much food. Couldn't finish.

Super coffee and cruffles at this lovely cafe.

Recently visited the cafe and had a lovely experience. It was quite quiet in the cafe due to the time of our visiting which meant bingsoo were delivered quickly! The staff were very kind when taking the order and later asking for some items for takeaway. Rice cake on the bingsoo were a little dry but there were plenty of toppings so not a huge thing!

A bit pricey, but amazing dessert and the matcha latte was the tastiest.

Very long wait time for some bingsoo (over half an hour) and the table was broken.

Bingsoo looks ok but the flavour was too bland. It was served with a very little portion of condensed milk which was far not enough. Asking for some more condensed milk required 50p, and it came again with another little portion. The cake was quite good though. I will be back again for the cake but not again for Bingsoo.

What a lovely Korean cafe serving some lovely cakes and bingsoo (shaved ice). We had the original bingsoo which was awesome and also had a slice of the mango cake which was just as good.

A Sweet Treat at Cake & Bingsoo Cafe , it offers a delightful atmosphere with a bustling energy. While it can be crowded, it's definitely worth the wait for their delicious bingsu. These shaved ice desserts are massive and perfect for sharing, as they can be quite overwhelming on your own. With their creamy toppings and refreshing flavors, they're a must-try for any sweet tooth.

Really disappointed with this place because it was hyped up so hard by social media. It is aesthetically pleasing and presentation is appetising, but the taste, quality and price does justify eating here. Service was just okay, but they don’t seem to work well during busy service hours as all the staff members were very panicked and overwhelmed. They were rushing people, making messes and forgetting parts of orders. We ordered two of the ades (yuzu and lychee) but both just tasted like plain lemonade with the slightest hint of flavour. The strawberry shortcake was not light and fluffy, the layers were over baked and the cream left this after feeling on your tongue. The bingsoo was a huge disappointment, it was too hard and lacked that fluffy feeling shaved ice is known for. The strawberries being jammed takes away a lot of that fresh flavour, the ice cream on top is too much, the toppings are not layered so by the time you get to the middle it’s just empty.

Oh my gosh, this place is awesome. I wish it were bigger!! You have to wait a while at busy times but I promise it's worth it. Delicious bingsoo, can't wait to return

This place is a must-visit for any dessert lover, especially if you're a fan of bingsoo. The presentation of the bingsoo was stunning!!! The shaved ice was incredibly fine and fluffy, melting in your mouth with every bite. We tried strawberry and mango bingsoo, both were perfectly balance of sweetness and creaminess, topped with fresh fruits.

Expensive waited an hour rude staff dirty

We visited Cake & Bingsoo for the first time for my wife’s birthday breakfast, and it was an okay experience. The atmosphere was soft and inviting, though the furniture felt a bit dated. Still, the decor and amenities gave off a charming Korean-style vibe. We tried their matcha and chocolate croffle, which was decent, and the mango bingsoo. The fresh mango made the bingsoo more flavorful, but I wasn’t a fan of the shaved ice texture—it felt like eating ice cubes. I had expected it to be more like flavored gelato or frozen yogurt. The food was a bit on the pricier side, but the coffee was amazing. The service was fast, friendly, and very welcoming. Overall, nice spot - I’d definitely recommend this place as a great spot for coffee.

I ordered injeolmi shaved ice, but the injeolmi came out not thawed enough and was very hard… If you think of the Injeolmi shaved ice you ate in Korea, I recommend ordering it. I thought mango shaved ice would be better.

We've just been there and were let down by service AGAIN! As a family of three with different preferences, we were planning to order 3 different flavours of Bingsoo. Having Bingsoo served in a cup size was ideal, however we are not allowed to eat in despite 3 cups (around £7 each). That doesn't make any sense. We have visited that place a few times before and their service is never great. At least you should train your staff how to smile.

Shaved ice is excellent. Service is completely at capacity. People are queueing everywhere, nobody knows what the queues are for, staff are completely overwhelmed. Would advise against coming on a summer weekend afternoon.

During our visit to New Malden we needed a sweet dessert to finish the day. We found Cake & Bingsoo and after queuing for some time (as we were a table of five) we all sat down to enjoy some sweet treats, the Bingsoo was refreshing and not too sweet, whereas the custard bear was amazing, and full of custard. Worth a visit.

cutest little cafe 🤗 I’ve eaten here a few times in the past and it’s always been delicious so I thought I’d order a whole cake too. I forgot to check the cake while I was in the shop, but I did a few minutes after I left and noticed that there was a little smudge on the cake. They were super lovely and fixed it for me. staff were all so sweet <3 haven’t tried the cake yet, but I’m sure it’s lovely as always! (though I can’t fault the service on this occasion, I do have to agree with others that, in general, I’ve had much better experiences at the cafe a few years ago than compared to now)

Awful customer service. Almost ruined a birthday. Ordered a cake for a birthday and paid around £50 upfront. The lady behind the counter wrote it down for the wrong date, and when we went to collect it, the two staff members took 20 minutes to tell us they had the cake for the wrong day. They then told us to either collect the cake over a week later, or switch to a different flavoured cake that would take another 20 minutes to make. Said cake arrived with markings on top as they had clearly intended to sell it by the slice. They had clearly desperately covered the markings up with fruit. Spoiler — it didn’t work.

Beautiful bakery in the heart of New Malden with a wide selection of goodies! The service is a little slow but only due to the fact it’s busy, and with good reason. The bingsoo is incredible. It has a McDonald’s like atmosphere which makes it a great spot for families and kids. I highly recommend the mango or Oreo Bingsoo. Yum yum yum.

Got food poisoning from the strawberry bing soo , both my girlfriend and I felt the effects and were the only ones to eat it out of our group. Probably from stagnant ice or other reasons :(

Very delicious Bingsu! The shop was quite crowded but it was worth the wait, the Oreo Bingsu tasted delicious and the texture was so fluffy!

Best Bingsoo I've ever had, by far.

It's not like there aren't places that sell shaved ice in London... I don't think there's any reason to buy it here with so many people and waiting in line ;; Well, the staff is a bit unfriendly... I think it's because they're so busy with so many tourists, but the shaved ice came out really late and my order was missed, so I should have just waited and asked.

Second visit, the bingsoo tasted really nice as usual and very high quality for its price. Seats were available quickly even at weekends, just a bit long when waiting for the food to be made as there’s only one staff in the kitchen.

Staff have been instructed to charge the customer to make the bingsoo sweet. The dessert is not sweet enough and upon requesting more syrup, the staff wants to charge extra! I am not coming back again.

This is the first time I visited as recommended by my friend. However, I felt very uncomfortable when I entered the cafe because I noticed that the cleanliness of the cafe could be seen as below average. The floor was noticeably with dirty stains even inside the kitchen. The floor and the customers dining tables were also very sticky with food stains everywhere. I also noticed that the open kitchen shelves door and table were not properly clean. I was deeply disappointed with the poor hygienic standard of this cafe. I will definitely won’t come back again.

I visit Bingsu twice sometimes three times a week as I live the matcha bingsu. But of late prices have increased quite considerably, size reduced and the red beans are not as good a quality as it used to be. All in all sad that the quality has deteriorated. Also more attention to cleaning is required.

This place is heaven for sugar lovers, an absolutely brilliant experience I never had such big portions . The only problem we had is getting tables some people just occupy tables for hours and hours without placing another order. This has not been regulated seating and hence becomes difficult to get a decent table to be comfortable.

Called multiple times to ask a question but no one picked up, not even 4 hours after opening has anyone answered my calls! Bad customer service, turned away a customer!

This place has really good korean bingsoo and cake. Gets very busy so seating might be difficult but quick turnaround. Highly recommended! We shared the coffee & oreo bingsoo between the four of us

Very cute and trendy korean cafe. They have a good selection of beautiful-looking cakes. And a good selection of hot and cold drinks too. They have savoury food options for a quick bite. Loved the hot chocolate and matcha latte. There is also a little photo booth inside too, with props and accessories to sue while taking your photos. This place is very popular and gets very busy to be prepared to wait for a seat if you go during rush hour

I honestly wish I could give a lower review, this place has one of the most pathetic customer services and management in London. It is perfectly understandable that there may be difficulties in completing an order. However, this place refuses to even acknowledge their mistake and made a sorry attempt to amend for their mistake. Do not make the same error as I did by choosing to order from this place for a special occasion, this has ruined my son's birthday. This place can and will ruin those special occasions that are meant to be enjoyed. I made a reservation to pick up a blueberry cake as a gift and a whole Oreo cake for a birthday party at different times on the 16th, and I even received a call to confirm my reservation order. On the same day, I visited the store and picked up a blueberry cake at 12 o'clock, gifted it to a friend, and went to pick up an Oreo cake that I was supposed to pick up at 4 o'clock. The staff informed me that whole cake orders were not accepted on Sundays because the cake was not ready. I had already purchased other cakes without any problems, but this was really absurd. Moreover, I received a phone call confirming my reservation, but I was unable to purchase the important birthday cake. Since there was no whole cake, they told me to collect pieces of cake that had already been cut and purchase them, but I did not purchase piece cakes because I wanted to blow out the candles and cut the cake. I was so sorry that my child was so upset because he had to spend his birthday, which only happens once a year, without the birthday cake he was looking forward to. Don't order shaved ice on special days. It could ruin your day.

Large portions, varied flavour options, I loved the Korean bingsoo! They also have a cute Korean photo booth with accessories. Some of the accessories were clearly used and probably unwashed - still would recommend though!

By far the best dessert I had in London!!

I was used to be a loyal customer of this cafe. Recently, I bought a crepe cake and realized the cake size was much smaller than before and the price was raised at the same time. It was around 8-10 cm in width before. Right now, the cake is only 5 cm in width. That means you paid more to get a smaller cake. I felt like i was being cheated. This was the right way of doing business.

Cakes were alright at most. Nothing special and a bit over priced.

Been here many times. First time going late in the evening. Although called cake and bingsoo you can only order cake after 8:45 as they close the bingsoo machine before closing. Annoying as the opening hours and operational hours should be different and if you’re open for business you should be offering your main items. When I asked why I couldn’t order a drink or bingsoo the staff just shrugged and didn’t care at all. Make sure you go well before closing as they can’t be bothered to do their cleaning and closing prep after they are actually closed

Never tried Bingsoo before so I tried the matcha bingsoo with red bean and it was quite nice. However, the milk on the side that I think you were meant to pour on top was most definitely spoiled and out of date!

Used to be a great place, but I overheard that the cafe is becoming more undesirable to work for. Most of the staffs have moved or are planning to move to different cafes such as The Choice or 601pm in New Malden. The staffs seem unhappy or tired from their work which is reflected by the quality of the bingsoo. It is really shameful that this cafe has decreased in quality.

Last Wednesday (8/5), I ordered a cake through Google Forms on your IG. I waited for two days but there was no reply. I sent you a message on your store’s IG, but you didn’t even respond. I visited your store in the morning on Saturday (11/5) to inquire. Your store clerk would reply to me in the afternoon, but I did not receive an email or message from your store. On Sunday (12/5) I sent one more IG message to your store. I just want to know if you received my order. No reply! I'm so disappointed! Because this cake is what I ordered for my son's birthday!

The bingsoo is delicious, the cakes are delicious, the coffee is good. The cafe can get very busy and I can understand the popularity. However, I cannot get past how poor the cleanliness in this place is. My last 3 visits the cafe is grotty, like actually quite disgusting. The tables and floor are filthy and despite a regular stream of customers, there never seems to be staff to maintain the seating area. My last visit was on Sunday evening and I had to actually go and get the cleaning spray and cloth myself from behind the abandoned waffle counter where there was uncovered ingredients everywhere. It's incredibly off putting and as much as I love the dessert, I will not return unless this changes which is a shame.

Today, I visited a Korean Bingsoo cafe but experienced exceptionally poor customer service. While enjoying my food in the cafe, a female staff member approached and informed me that I wasn't allowed to eat in because I had ordered a takeaway bingsoo. I explained that my friends and I were all together, they had ordered dine-in foods, and I wasn't informed that ordering takeaway meant I couldn't eat in. Despite my explanation, the staff member insisted it wasn't allowed and attempted to kick us out. She repeatedly asked which staff member had taken our order. Finally, she walked away with a bad attitude. That was really rude.

Today's visit to this Bingsoo cafe was marred by remarkably poor customer service. While my friend savored her matcha bingsoo, a staff member abruptly informed her she couldn't dine in because of her takeaway order. Despite our explanation that we were all dining together and unaware of this policy, the staff member persisted, attempting to eject us from the cafe. Notably, my friend had not been informed about the policy regarding takeaway orders and dining in. Despite my own dine-in order, the staff member remained unyielding, displaying a dismissive attitude throughout the interaction. Her whispered, rude remarks, discernible to us as fluent Korean speakers, further underscored the lack of professionalism. It's disappointing that such behavior tarnishes what could have been a pleasant dining experience, and I cannot recommend this establishment.

Me and my friends went to a Korean Bingsoo cafe today but received really bad customer service. My friend ordered a matcha bingsoo. I have had many a visit here…. This place is always packed with people mainly waiting for bingsoo The bingsoo wait is 20-25 minutes so prepare for that. Yes shaved ice takes that long to make but it was worth the wait. Very tasty and refreshing. We shared the strawberry and Oreo bingsoo between 4 people and managed it!!! I also had a slice of matcha crepe cake to take away. It was nice .. not too bitter. There is no service or cleaning up of table so also be prepared to tidy up yourself. The toilet also needs more cleaning… I totally noticed King Charles had visited the place and was very excited to see the photos of him in the cafe dotted around!!!! How amazing that he was actually there lol.

Owner Should not allow the dogs . There are a lot of dog hairs at the corner inside the shop.

Service is unacceptably slow. I waited 18min to order an espresso. 15min to be served in a queue of 3 other people ahead of me. South Asian woman working at the till was completely incompetent and slow.

I wouldn't recommend this coffee shop. The burnt and under-extracted coffee suggests rushed brewing, and the stale cakes indicate they've been sitting out for a while. The self-service system and lack of atmosphere due to the crowds make it a less than ideal choice for relaxation or enjoying a well-crafted beverage. If you order a small sized bingsoo, they don't let you sit down. Not recommended.

{Food} Bingsoo - 10/10. Amazing milky vanilla flavour from the shaved ice, melts right in your mouth. Any additional toppings such as matcha, strawberry, etc are also absolutely amazing - they all pair really well. I would recommend the Oreo and Strawberry Bingsoo's. Matcha Latte - Might genuinely be the best Matcha Latte I've ever tasted, and I have Matcha Lattes on a daily. The Matcha flavour is so overpowering in the best way possible. I asked for oat milk and I still tasted the Matcha REALLY well. For Matcha Lattes paired with plant-based milks, 9/10 times it masks the Matcha flavour - but Cake and Bingsoo Cafe's Matcha is absolutely present. Cakes - Absolutely amazing cakes. Soft, flavourful, creamy, etc. I would recommend the blueberry and strawberry cakes. They also have a bunch of random cakes sometimes, which all taste lovely. {Service} Amazing service from what I've had. Usually very quick and efficient, and also super friendly! {Atmosphere] The atmospheres wonderful. When there's a lot of people around, it's totally a vibe. When there's not a lot of people around, it's quite a nice cafe where you'll see people studying and stuff. There's also a super cute selfie booth room where you can take photos by yourself or with a friend - which also adds to the whole vibe as well. {Miscellaneous} During peak hours sometimes there's usually dirty tables left by previous people that don't get spotted straight away and stay there for a long time. However, if you just tell a staff member or point it out they'll fix it straight away! Overall, absolutely amazing place to both hangout and study. I would definitely recommend.

Everything is good here.... Matcha latte, matcha crepe, cakes, croissant-waffle (croffle). Worth a trip to New Malden just to experience this truly authentic place.

the quality of food is good, the staff are very friendly and helpful despite looking overwhelmed and very busy. I saw one of the staff trip because of a broken metal fitting on the floor. I hope the owner takes better care of their staff…

I had a delightful experience at the cafe with amazing coffee, delicious food, and a charming atmosphere complete with a photobooth. Regrettably, I must give a one-star rating due to safety concerns for my baby. The highchair provided lacked adequate straps, causing my daughter to slip through it. Fortunately, I caught her in time, but the incident left her very distressed. Immediate action is necessary to prevent such accidents in the future.

Visited yesterday for the first time - didn't realise it was under the same management as Cafe Mori in Wimbledon which is somewhere I go regularly. They do 3 more flavours of bingsoo here though. I really love both cafes, the choice of music is always very mellow and people are able to work and study here undisturbed. The servers are always super nice and in a good mood. They have a photobooth with props in this branch which was super cute!!

The food is good, matcha powder used was not good and tasted weird and I wish they had the strawberry latte. Kimchi cheese panini was a bit stale you could tell from the bread but it was alright. Mango cake however is top notch! Their cakes are fabulous. I’ve got to say though the atmosphere is not good, it’s not very clean and the furniture is very old and uncomfortable I think it calls for a good renovation because although the food is decent, the atmosphere isn’t pleasant. Would probably not return unless it is just for the bingsoo
