This place gets five stars just because of how good the food was. They could have charged me for two burgers and I would not have been mad. I had the gyro burger, and I loved it. The flavored drinks are properly (not lightly) flavored. I would come here again. It is unlikely that you will be dissatisfied with the food. The atmosphere and service were average

Service was fine but the food not so much. Last time I ate there felt same way. Was hoping it was a one time thing. But was disappointed once again. The food use to be great under the original owners. This time I had French toast. Thinking you can’t mess up French toast but I was wrong. The bread was extremely thick which is fine if soaked. When I cut into it was just plan bread. The out side was lightly coated with egg mix. Was basically eating piece of bread with syrup on it. Husband had breakfast burrito and he wasn’t impressed either. New owners shouldn’t have messed with the kitchen or menu. Was great before. Next time eat breakfast will be going back to Morrison Inn where we have had much better food.

I've usually had a great experience here up until my most recent visit. The server that was taking care of me vanished and was replaced by a younger guy. I wasn't finished with my meal when he slapped the bill on my table without asking if I needed anything else. I saw the sign for hot chocolate, and since it was a cold day, I was going to order one with some Bailey's. Money lost on their part. I also looked back while leaving and saw him pocket the cash that was meant for my server. As an onlooker, it appears this guy stole my server's tip (which was doubled for the holiday), and I felt kicked out. I had received great hospitality until this kid came waltzing to my table. I'm not sure if I'll ever be back. I have lost all of my trust in this cute little diner. I hope to God that my actual server received the tip, or if they're pooled, it was added to the pot and this kid didn't get a penny since all he did was give me a bill. It's pretty sketchy when some random guy comes to your table and puts the cash not meant for him in his front pocket. You won't miss this regular. Plenty of oblivious tourists to screw over.

Food is just okay, the vibes are …. Strange. If a restaurant was a sundown town, I have a feeling it would be something like this. Took my parents here during their visit to Colorado before we hiked Red Rocks. The servers are efficient enough but nowhere near friendly. The most offputting thing is the threatening signs in the bathroom — someone at The Cow seems to be super concerned that we’re going to take their arts and crafts hanging in the bathroom? Give me a break lol

On a flying visit to Denver, we went to Red Rocks to see the sun rise. Afterwards we walked down the trail to the town of Morrison and we were very hungry! Stopped into The Cow an Eatery for breakfast. There were 10 of us in our party. This was not a problem to the lovely ladies in finding us a place to sit. Sam our server was excellent - very professional and friendly. The menu was extensive and exciting. Before long she had us set up with coffee ( and some hot chocolates) and then she took our orders. I chose the SMS omelette (spinach mushroom and Swiss cheese). Everyone ordered something different and it was no issue to Sam if a few tweaks were requested to the dish written on the menu. In what seemed like a flash our food arrived. It was just gorgeous and we dived straight in as we had worked up quite an appetite. Sam kept coming over to refill our coffee cups. My breakfast was delicious and it came with potato shreds ( like hash brown) and rye toast. Everyone devoured their food and enjoyed every mouthful. When it came to pay - Sam did something amazing - she gave us separate checks!! It was so easy to settle up either by cash, card or using the QR code on the individual check. This diner/restaurant was a great find and I can heartily recommend it to anyone who is looking for breakfast after watching the sunrise in Red Rocks. Thank you most sincerely to Sam and her colleague. You made a wonderful experience even better.

I was in town for a show at Red Rocks so I stopped in for lunch. My server was very friendly and did her best to be attentive, despite a relatively full outdoor dining area and her coworkers just sitting at the bar talking. The chips and salsa were a mixed bag, the chips were mediocre but the salsa was very good. The fried mushrooms were phenomenal, 10/10 would get every time. The chicken fried steak was very good. The gravy was fantastic and the veggies were just right. The mashed potatoes tasted like they forgot to season them, however the texture and consistency were great. My only real complaints are watching my server struggle to keep up while her coworkers just chatted at the bar frustrated me and there were a lot of flies buzzing around. I do recommend stopping in if you are in the area for a show and want some pretty good "American diner" food. Happy hour has non-premium appetizers nearly half off and some drinks as well. 10/3 2:30pm

We were told there was a 15 min wait and our phone number was taken so we could stroll the area while a table was prepared. It took only 5 minutes. Service and food was delicious! Only odd thing was we were told due to code, we could not have a water bowl for the dog nor give it treats while on the patio. My son (11 and EXTREMELY picky) ordered a ham and cheese omelet and was tickled at how finely diced the ham was. I got a breakfast burrito and the sausage inside was also very small (cut/ground, not the amount). The green Chile didn't appear to be house made, but overall it was very tasty. Every staff member we encountered was pleasant and the restaurant was very clean and cozy. We opted to eat indoors, but the patio looked very nice as well, right alongside Bear Creek. We were out doing the touristy thing and stopped off at The Cow because of its unique name. It's a cute, popular place. We did have to wait about 30 minutes and didn't mind because of the view of the creek and the boardwalk, which made time past fast. We started off with drinks, which were strong and yummy. We tried the Bloody Mary, orange juice and strawberry minosas, and the Elderberry Fizz. We also took 2 cappuccinos to go. Our entrees were delicious and very filling. We each ordered something different. I ordered the Hash and eggs, which came with sauteed garden peppers and onions with fresh sliced corned beef (yum), two scrambled eggs, and a slice of toast. Hubby ordered the White Cow, which came layered with shredded hash browns, two eggs, two sausage patties, cheddar cheese, with our famous sausage gravy, and served with a slice of toast. Son-in-law ordered the Hangover Omelet, which came with bacon, sausage, ham, and French fries inside with cheddar cheese and hash browns. The daughter ordered the Avocado toast plus, which came with 2 slices of whole wheat toast topped with smashed avocado, red pepper flakes, Himalayan pink salt, olive oil and a sprig of cilantro and two eggs. The food was well worth the wait.

Stopped here for dinner before a show at Red Rocks. Very laid back, diner type atmosphere. Sat outside and watched folks walking by on the path by the creek. Server was great and was kind enough to get our order in before a party of 12. The guacamole was excellent as a starter. I got a turkey sandwich with pepper jack, caramelized onions, jalapenos on grilled sourdough. My wife had a grilled ham and apple with cheddar cheese. Both sandwiches were awesome. The fries are a really great style that's hard to explain...kind of the size of a waffle fry, but not with the lattice cut. Anyway, a great spot, excellent food and a good value!

Used to eat here all the time pre-COVID, back when it was called ‘the Purple Cow’z The food (then) was much better than my most recent experience at ‘the Cow’. First thing; they’ve expanded, and the food has suffered significantly. I ordered the French dip and my lunch partner ate a salad. Not complicated! However, our meal took over 45 minutes to be served. The hot sandwich arrived cold tasted like it’d been pulled from a freezer and microwaved. I was told that the salad was also gross tasting. Over the course of the hour and a half we were there, we had three different servers - all of whom forgot at least one thing in our non-complicated order. Eating in the main dining area, it was clear that (young, HS-aged) staff really only cared about laughing, goofing-off and having a good time. Didn’t pay attention to any of the guests, including our table. The whole experience spoiled our opinion of The Cow and we’ll likely not return. Ended up spending like $60 on three entrees and a drink. Way too pricey for such low-quality food and poor service.

I wouldn't listen to the positive reviews on this place. The major issue was the food. It was almost like everything was rubber. I ordered the chicken fried steak, fairly standard quality but stingy on the gravy. The scrambled eggs were bland and rubbery. I ordered cube potatoes and got hash which were overcooked. I also got pancakes that were rubbery and practically inedible with the cheap corn syrup they serve, unless you opt for the $2 tiny container of real maple syrup. I never would leave any pancake unfinished and I couldn't finish this pancake, it was that bad. My wife had the famous breakfast burrito and it was also as if the meat was cooked then boiled to reheat. The service was inattentive and not personable or inviting. Atmosphere was loud and cramped. I would recommend eating outside if possible to avoid the noise, if you choose to eat here at all. I'm not looking for a quiet dining experience, but this was basically listening to your neighbors' table yelling. Our server took a while to bring a mediocre, bland premix bloody Mary and forgot my water with it. She did offer to bring something else after my wife said the food was not great, but this was after we got our check. I'm always apprehensive accepting new food after complaining about food, and out of belief the food would probably be the same quality as these dishes. Hate to leave a negative review as I'm sure this establishment has been a staple of Morrison but this was a bad experience, and seems to be in line with the other low Star reviews recently. Not sure who gives this a 5 star, but I would recommend IHOP or Denny's over this. I've only left less than a 5 Star review if something was just that bad. This was that bad.

Sam was amazing! Really took care of us and is very outgoing and connects well with customers. The food is also amazing! And the atmosphere around the area is phenomenal. The area is right next to a river and let’s be honest any restaurant in the mountains is always peaceful and just gives you a good feeling. Love this place and will always comes back! Thank you for the awesome service sam

Fabulous breakfast! Great vibe in a cute little mountain town. This will be a must stop next time we are in town again.

Excellent location. Enjoyed eating on the patio, especially because we had great weather. Menu and food were okay.

This place appears to be good but really isn’t. Their online order is apparently the best way to order food from there and it DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. Then when you call them to make the order on the phone, no answer at all. They are lucky that there are very few options in this area and people have little choice but to use them.

Not impressed at all! Loud and noisy! Was seated by waiter station, slamming plates, having to almost yell to order food. Customers rude and noisy, wait staff doesn't do anything like yell shut up! Overpriced, uncomfortable, waitress had attitude. Food eventually made me sick too! This place sucks! Regardless of what others say, it sucks! Not returning except to watch it burn down!

Great food with awesome service with a smile. I've been on a chicken fried steak kick and the steak here is good with gravy. The homemade biscuit put it over the top. I would recommend if you are in the area.

I was passing through and googled "Best breakfast place in the area" and this is the restaurant that popped up. Google was spot on accurate. I'm super glad I stopped in after hiking. I was seated immediately, drinks were given immediately, my order was taken immediately and while the food wasn't immediate, it wasn't a long wait by any stretch. The hot sauces were all solid, the wait staff was top notch and the food was well seasoned and made my morning. The wait staff stopped by multiple times (despite the outdoor dining area being full and busy) to make sure I didn't need anything else and to refill my coffee. If you're passing through, I recommend stopping here...if you can get parking!

Meant to be open 24/7, door was locked. Staff inside saw me, only to ignore me for 5 - 10 minutes while I'm out in the cold (-2°C!). Just to tell me the restaurant is closed. Very poor service! Not going again!
