Booked well in advance for 12.Wouldnt let us pre order. Hardly anything on the festive menu, the foodthey had left was hardly any ingredients. Eaton mess with no fruit! Trifle was tiny piece of sponge and 1 rasberry! Ice cream sundae with clotted cream ice cream came out as 1 scoop of chocolate ice cream whipped cream to the top to fill the void! No topping, no sauce! Toby the server was polite but embarrassed, we asked to see the manager,Toby was deployed.We will never set foot in that establishment again!!!! Very dissapointing! 2 desserts were knocked off the bill.Very, very poor.Why didnt they ring us? We could have gone somewhere else?

Arrived at 11:15 to be told that breakfast ends at 11:15, the next day arrived at 11:00 - correct opening time - to be told he has no till and wouldn’t let us in. Stood in the car park waiting for our ride instead.

Toby was amazing on our visit today! He catered to our every need as a family. The food was delicious and Toby ensured he checked in on us refilling drinks when needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and couldn't fault anything.

Lovely pub, tasty food unfortunately I ordered the garlic mushroom starter which was good but rather small even for a starter. Toby the waiter was great. And the pub is really nicely decorated with a very nice cosy vibe. I would certainly recommend.

The service was excellent from our servers, especially Toby, who looked after us really well. The food was a bit hit and miss, excellent burger, lovely prawn dish, lovely turkey, great pigs in blankets, but the potatoes were not quite up to scratch and the desserts were a bit disappointing. The staff sorted it out as soon as we mentioned it, so overall a good family meal out on a foggy Boxing Day.

We had our Christmas dinner here yesterday and what can I say...amazing! Food was delicious and the staff were all amazing. A special thank you to Julie who looked after us, she was superb. Had our first Christmas Day Dinner at The Bulls Head yesterday. Food amazing, atmosphere great, staff so attentive and genuine. In fact our whole experience as on prior visits was superb. Will be back in the New Year

Staff were lovely , couldn’t fault them . We had the Christmas dinner and not impressed . I had to return my vegan wellington which was raw pastry inside . Five tiny potatoes 2 pieces of carrot and parsnip . Really small and not great for the money . All veg is 15p in the shops . Why only 3 sprouts. Like I said the staff were amazing . Sorry about the food

Had our Christmas meal for the pickle ball group. They had a very good beer on. The meal was good. But the prawns on a crumpet for a starter were certainly not worth the surcharge

We came from Blackpool to have our Sunday lunch with family who live nearby. Initially the service was fine. Three of us had the Turkey but unfortunately the turkey was undercooked and a little pink. We didn't say anything but left it. We waited awhile for the gravy and our dinner was cold. The drinks were all good. My husband ordered Sticky toffee pudding with custard and it came with ice cream and when he mentioned this the lady said" No you didn't ask for custard!!? But my pudding chocolate brownie was very nice.

Staff were very friendly Good selection on menu. Pork was absolutely superb. Easy access for a friend with mobility issues. Will definitely be returning soon.

Really great service from Ricki Christmas meal with our friends Weird starter with doggy crumpet with prawns for starter not great . Turkey dinner as expected.

Went to the bulls head after work and the food was amazing as per usual. It is proper home cooked food. Have been here several times and this is now my go to place to eat when i'm up this way. Callum was exceptionally helpful and pleasant and is a great asset to the bulls head. 5*

We had a wonderful evening and Julie looked after us very well.

Menu was limited. Some items not available. Portion sizes on all dishes were disappointing especiallyfor the price. Atmosphere was nice but also felt crampt with servers squeezing between seats whilst we were eating. Flavours were lacking. Just not the greatest. It's a shame as it looked so nice.

Lovely atmosphere, staff very attentive and friendly, and absolutely hands down the best Sunday roast we have had in a long time. This was a treat for my friends mum who had come over to visit from Ireland for the weekend. Our waitress (not sure of her name, she was an older woman with fair brown hair) was so lovely and sweet and made sure we were comfortable and happy throughout the visit. We will definitely be back soon, thank you so much!

Stayed next door at the premier inn so popped in for an evening meal before an early flight, What a lovely atmosphere and a roaring fire in the area I was sat in, Ordered the sausage and mash, 3 decent Cumberland sausages and tasty mash, crispy carrot shavings, I asked for mushy peas as not keen on garden peas, not a problem and was supplied, a very good jug off thick gravy, Hot food and a hot plate as it should be, A nice pint of Xmas dark Ale Couldn't fault my visit and won't be my last if I need to fly from Manchester, The lady who served me was faultless, thank you, Alan

On Tuesday we visited the Bulls Head for the second time in 10 days which is recommendation in itself. Lovely venue, staff very friendly and welcoming and the food is excellent. On both occasions my partner had steak which was cooked to perfection by the head chef the first time and Callum the second. I had sea bass on first visit and lamb shank shepherd's pie second visit, both absolutely delicious. We were looked after by Julie and Ricki who were lovely, very friendly and attentive. A big thank you to all the staff, we thoroughly enjoyed our visits and will definitely be back.

Lovely place. Didn't book but got a table for 3 very promptly around tea time. Food was delicious and didn't have to wait long. Staff very friendly at the bar and serving the food. Glad we stopped by.

Excellent service from Ricki. Food was excellent and very pleasant well kept surroundings. A superb start to our holiday. I would recommend the Bulls Head without hesitation.

Our food was really nice and our little boy with an allergy was really well looked after by Ricki who served us. She brought the allergy menu and helped us understand it, checking in to see if we needed anything. Really lovely relaxing atmosphere.

We came here for breakfast after staying in the hotel next door. I had the smashed avocado on sourdough with eggs…. Delicious! My husband had the granola and yogurt which was also delicious, food and service were great. Callum who took our order was friendly and professional.

Called into this pub whilst I was working locally.I just wanted a pint of larger and something to nibble on. Ordered a pint of Madri and some chicken strips. It was busy for a Thursday evening. The pint of Madri was excellent, the chicken strips filled my hunger gap ! The pub has a relaxing atmosphere, nice vibe. I ended up ordered an absolutely great glass of red wine as well. Will visit again when I am in the area, the manager Rorna was particularly helpful.

1st class in every way. Very quick service, staff extremely friendly & efficient. Food was amazing, we had Smothered chicken in rich delicious sauce, & belly pork which was so tender. Great value too, a wide section of deserts we finished of work a Trio of British Classics, which included an amazing Jam Roly Poly. Ricki was our server for the evening, our party was 8 strong. She was attentive, helpful and quick to fulfill our orders. The Bulls Head is a Chef and Brewer establishment so the quality of the food and ambience fully met our expectations. Thoroughly recommend a visit

Callum greeted us this morning at breakfast and was as helpful and friendly as he was last night at dinner. Individuals such as he are a credit to any business.

We were served by Ricki, who seemed to be rushed off her feet. Despite this, she remained attentive and always pleasant. Then we had Josh, who was friendly and personable, with a good sense of humour. Food was amazing and a lovely atmosphere with pleasant background music and not a TV in sight.

Called in for evening dinner while staying at the adjacent Premier Inn. We were served by a lovely lady called Ricki and another lady (didn't catch her name), the service from both was excellent, very helpful with advice and friendly. My wife has Sea Bass and I had a sirloin steak, followed by 2 sweets for desert, all the food was perfectly cooked and really enjoyable, a nice big pub/restaurant and we would definitely recommend.

Came here for dinner on our way home after a round of golf at Mottram Hall. The food is fantastic, especially the Lamb Shank for which I would rate as Michelin standard. The service from Julie is excellent as well. Would definitely come back soon.

We stop off here every time we fly out to Florida so it's the start of our holiday. An important factor, and it the pub never fails to deliver. I've been to a few Chef and Brewers across the Midlands and the North and I might be biased as I'm always in the right frame of mind but the food was excellent as ever, they can make a burger into a work of art, which I turn all too quickly into an empty platter. The staff have always been on top form friendly, attentive and show genuine customer care, well done. Always a pleasure see you again soon. This is in addition to my last visit.....still stands still 5* this time served by Lorna and Ricki. They both deserved a mention as the made the experience more memorable....thank you both, you're a credit to the pub!

Stopped off at this beautiful pub after my daughters kick boxing lesson....had drinks and food before our 2 hour journey home. Very warm welcome from the staff, the food was amazing and we definitely will return again soon

5 for the ?manager? H? 2-3* for the bar woman. Will give her one more chance but last 2 times been a bit meh … won’t name or embarrass her but a bit of training would be needed. Not blaming the manager at all as he’s literally holding this place up Really glad I got some food in the end for my 2nd visit (first they shut the service early hmm) I will be back … the food is amazing and the manager is great! Barely in the area (work all over) but he’s great and food was great! 😛🍺🏆🍷🐑 Edit - thus far all the bar girls have been beyond amazing. 😻 Lovely chilled vibe. Just wish the kitchen was open a tad later but it’s late for this village I guess 😛

Fabulous Sunday lunch. Delicious roast turkey, veg, Yorkshire pudding etc. Excellent service from the staff, all very attentive. The only thing I would say is soft drinks are expensive. £6.30 for ginger beer with a splash of lime!

Really warm welcome from Toby. Very accommodating with kids menu choices. Loads of space on a Saturday night. Good was very good typical pub grub. Decent portions and the fish and chips were great. Very good if you are on way to/from Manchester airport. Big car park.

6 of is went for breakfast 10.15 Sunday. Some breakfast items not available. BUT mostly no eggs. Sorry this is not good enough. Had to leave and find somewhere else!

I ordered a medium rare steak, it was awful. Really tough sirloin, at £20. So sent back, however as the second steak arrived it was again, poor, the sauce pot less than a third full and the grilled tomato still fridge cold, the chips were solid. The saving grace was the staff and manager, with excellent customer service. Maybe chef had a bad night.

Good breakfast, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Ricki served us and was a delight.
