Cafe Smile in Peterborough

When with my elderly mother we order jacket potato one with cheese and beans and sausage one with ham which bear in mind the last time we was there they put the ham as bacon but this time oh no we had to buy and extra meal to get the ham. This was a ham sandwich meal an extra £5.00 it was more but cannot remember the full price. I ask for one salad no tomatoes and one no cucumber. I don't realise till I got to my table and my mum said did you say no peppers so I went back and spoke to the man and he said it all came mixed in the bag which was bull. They couldn't even get it right with no cucumber or tomato so it had to go back. I then had to ask for the sausage I order which took another 10 mins this then came out white like it hadn't been cooked I asked for a brown sausage as it did look like it had been cooked he took it back, to my dismay they sent the girl whom had served me back out with the same sausage by this time I was getting pissed off she said we can't reheated it this is how they all come out again bull as the person behind us had brown sausage I said I not eating that I want my money back she said she would ask the man he said it was ok todo that wow. The potatoes were Luke warm we asked for butter in them there wasn't any. The person who was behind us commented as they left your not having a good time so I think this says it all. Mum couldn't eat hers after the messing around which up set her and she is diabetic what a waste of good money no apology either

Good basic food and drinks inside QD stores, in Orton centre. There is nothing fancy and the food is definitely not to go out of your way for, but it is good basic food, at reasonable prices.

First time to Cafe Smile inside QD. It is clean and tidy and spacious. The design is unique and I love the booths along the side. The staff are friendly and have their regulars. The full English comes only with 1 egg, 1 sausage, 1 bacon, 1 Hash Brown and beans for £3.25 and you can have the next size up which comes with 2 of each, plus mushrooms and tomatoes and a slice of toast for £6.50. Drinks are separate. The food comes out nice and fresh. However, in my opinion its a bit pricey. Overall its worth a visit and try for yourself. I will be back to try out the Lunch menu as I heard its good..... Will keep you guys posted on the Lunch. Sadly won't be in a hurry for Breakfast.

Really decent English breakfast at a low price. Nice atmosphere, good service. Cannot complain. Will visit more often .

Lovely staff, down to earth-good-honest-food! I had the beef stew and dumplings which was on as a special and i have to say the dumpling was HUGE and DELICIOUS! The Beef was tender and was served with some nice veg.

Visited the Smile Cafe at the QD Store. As usual, the Staff were pleasant and helpful and the food plentiful. I sat at a raised table/bench where I suspect people who want to use their IT sit as there are charging ports for electronic equipment placed there. I found the surface of the bench was very sticky. I think this is due to the product they use to clean down the surface interacting with the varnish. I saw the Staff cleaning tables so it is not likely to be through lack of cleanliness. That all said, it is a bit distracting when you have to prise your documents/newspaper etc off the surface. Worth paying attention to this as people can get the wrong view of the cafe which would be a pity.

Handy and relatively inexpensive cafe to come to, however Cafe Smile need to get with the times!After searching the vast menu for the vegetarian options, but being surprised at the lack of options, we asked about other choices and were informed that jacket potatoes were vegetarian... Don’t even go there for vegans!Staff are friendly and chatty and the overall the whole place is clean, though tray clearing is slow despite staff stood chatting behind the counter. Food is freshly prepared and the salad is usually fresh, albeit basic.

I regularly visit this cafe as it is so convenient for good food. I find it a relaxing place to eat. The staff are always pleasant and the place is kept very clean. Definitely a place to go, if just for a tasty coffee!

Came in with mum, to get lunch. I had ham salad, mum had scampi and chips. Wow! I had 2 slices of lovely thick Yorkshire ham that were as big as my plate, and mum had plenty of scampi. Like I told mum, they don't skimp on scampi!! Fantastic value. Also their daily specials are brilliant - ranging from lasagne to homemade soup, and steak pie, to sausage casserole. Great value homemade food. Keep up the good work ladies!!
