I’ve been visiting for many years, celebrating both my 40th and 50th, always fantastic food, friendly staff and all round great experience.

Best Italian in Warrington. Friendly Staff. Delicious Food .

Booked for Christmas Eve. Great experience start to finish - friendly service, decent atmosphere and food was excellent. Its standard Italian restaurant dishes done really well, like home cooking. Lasagne was delicious, steak perfectly cooked and pizza delicious. Excellent value for money and good to support a local non-chain that has been in the town for 30 years.

We had a lovely evening celebrating my dad's birthday. Food was lovely as usual , Ellie our waitress was lovely a credit to you .Lovely atmosphere aswell

Given vouchers for last Christmas no mention of how long they were valid for. Now having a week to use vouchers as they are only valid for a year. I have discussed with staff and didn't seam to care.

Visited for lunch and ordered Pizza de mare and it was certainly one of the best I’ve ever had. Great service as always.

Fabulous meal for a very large group x

We go fairly often - usually at lunchtime. Even when busy, the food is usually served quite quickly, and though prices have crept up it's still good value compared to other offers in the town centre. Specials board is always worth a look. Plates are a bit deceptive - it doesn't look that much until you realise it's a bowl. Coffee and a bacon butty for £5.50 is good for mid-morning.

Fabulous food, attentive staff and great atmosphere.. top marks deserved and earned . Busy night but lots of staff to serve our party of 35 ..every table was full you really need to book

I have been visiting this restaurant for over 20 years and it's still my favourite place to visit in Warrington. The owner Alfio is fantastic as are all the staff and the food is beautiful. The atmosphere is great and it is very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to experience an authentic Italian restaurant as much as I don't want people to know about is as I might not get a table in the future!

Lovely place and great food Visited with my parents on a Friday evening. It was very busy at 6:30 but fortunately for the staff it didn't get any busier. The service was a little slow but we weren't in a hurry. However, all the staff were fantastic. All smiling and pleasant to talk to. The restaurant is cosy so felt quite manic. That wasn't helped by the music which intermittently got very loud. Most importantly the food was delicious. I had the Penne All' Orientale. It was really nice but misleading from the description on the menu. It said a 'dash of curry and tomato' but was way more than a 'dash' so basically curry sauce. The sauce was also on my limit of spicy (although I don't do spicy food at all really). The vegetables and chicken were tasty and the portion was generous. I really like curry so it was fine but someone else may have been very disappointed with it. If I knew what it was going to be I would have ordered something different. My Mum had the seafood risotto and my Dad the Pork Caruso. They both cleared their plates, which again were generously loaded. We also had the special garlic bread. The slices with cheese and tomato sauce were great but the plain pieces didn't have enough garlic butter so didn't have much flavour. Overall the food was really good value and the menu is vast so plenty to choose from. They had a brilliant range of gins too, along with fevertree tonic which was an added bonus! I definitely recommend a visit.

Excellent family run Italian restaurent. Lovely, authentic dishes cooked really well, using fresh ingredients. Also great value. Relaxed, lively atmosphere and charming staff. Highly recommended.

Thoroughly enjoyed my bacon barm and Americano coffee with hot milk on the £5.50 offer sat comfortably on my own in a window seat reading my paper having dropped my wife off for her appointment nearby. Only problem was forgetting to pay after taking my empty cup to the counter! Hopefully l’m in time to stop my mugshot appearing in the WANTED section of the Warrington Guardian.I’ll drop off the money next time I’m in town.Sorry I actually went to The Dorado café first but they told me to sit on a darker inside table for 2 rather than the window seat where I’d put my bag because they were ‘getting busy’ even though there were still lots of empty tables.So I decided to leave and take my unpaid custom elsewhere! I’ll certainly be using Caruso’s again in future if they will have me back

Perfect for lunch with a youngster who enjoyed the food a lot. Same youngster enjoyed it even more a year later. Pasta last time, pizza this time. Lovely atmosphere and staff.

Food really authentic and freshly made

Food was nice, Would not recommend getting chips as they give you about 10 chips bit of a rip off. Service was very poor as we waited for a while for the drinks

Four of us went here for a meal on Saturday afternoon. We were shown directly to our reserved table, seated and given menus. No drinks were offered which is usually what you would expect to happen, and it took some time before anyone did return to the table to take a drinks order, by which time we had already looked at the menus and were ready to place our food order too. The food came out, unfortunately not all main courses came out at the same time and then there was a delay after that before the garlic breads arrived. However, all of the food was nice. All clearly freshly cooked, really tasty and piping hot. We had the garlic bread strips, and the cheese and garlic bread and they were extremely strong, but very tasty. Exactly what you would expect from an Italian garlic bread. Very reasonably priced, and would certainly consider going back next time we're in Warrington.

Rating 5* as the food is superb. However, on our last visit, the service was lacking. It just seemed to take a long while to get anything.

Very tired frontage but welcoming and light inside. Food was simple but very tasty. Service on the slow side but not a problem. Enjoyed the ravioli and the pancake.

A great Italian atmosphere with music to compliment the mood. The staff were very polite and friendly. Food and drink was perfect so overall I would definitely return. I recommend this place 👍

I come here with my self and 3 kids - there’s nice range off food on the menu. I had chicken smothered in some garlic sauce and mushrooms on it with vegetables and tasted very nice . My youngest had tomato pasta with tubed pasta he loved that - daughter had spaghetti bolognaise , the only thing didn’t rate was the garlic bread without the cheese - the one with cheese looked great as seen somebody on another table having that. The only thing I could say that was the only thing that put me off , was the staff, there was 2 young girls on serving and a young lad . The young lad was fine but the 2 girls looked like they didn’t want to be there … they just looked like everything was an effort and just didn’t have a nice feel to it , unsure of their name other then them being young … such a shame as when you go into an Italian feel place I think service is super important and would make the place a lot better for people and their experience better ! Food was great tho

Came in on Saturday food was good however the service not so good, we had no napkins and cutlery when we had our starter. After the main course we sat for ages no one came over to take plates or offer desert so we walked to the bar to pay. If the service was better then it would have been much better experience. We will try again as food was good for what you pay.

Noisy and the most pathetic salad I've ever been offered. The dressing was in a refilled bottle with old dried crusty dressing around the bottle neck. I'm not impressed.

‘Wandering Wednesday’ took Hubby Neil and I to Caffe Caruso. Neil had spaghetti Nduja: Nduja spicy sausage, pancetta and mushrooms in a rich tomato sauce. I had spaghetti Bolognese with plenty of meat and I asked for meatballs to be added, the ragu was a rich tomato sauce, absolutely delicious. Both had plenty of Parmesan and milled black pepper. To share we had a side salad and garlic pizza, half with cheese and the other half with garlic tasty tomato sauce….. This place is a wee goldmine and it’s totally understandably when you taste your chosen dish….. didn’t want it to end, hats off to the chefs….. Don’t really need to say that we’ll be back!….. Goes without saying!!! But! 100% YES!!!

Ate at Cafe Curuso today for a Birthday Lunch, it was beautiful, the food was authentic, made with fresh ingredients, will definitely be eating there again.

Ate here Saturday evening. Welcome was warm and staff attentive. Food was decent, competently executed from usual Italian menu, nothing ground breaking but nice to see a few specials on the board. Bit of a wait between starter and main but they had some big tables in and it wasn't an inconveience. Nice lively atmosphere and good value all round.

Food was not hot and of poor quality, asked for meatballs without chilli and didn't get thus, best part of the meal was the garlic bread and cheese. Loads of staff but they had to be promoted to take our order and for the bill. Very small dining area with too many tables as it felt everybody was sitting on top of each other. Such a shame as there is lots of potential

Went for a night out with family and absolutely loved it. Owner is so nice, staff are amazing and check everything is going perfectly. Lovely atmosphere, little bit of music. Food was brilliant and prices are good. For an evening out with family is a great place to go. Highly recommend.

Really good gluten free pizza and garlic bread. Disappointed today to be told the chips are not gluten free/coeliac safe afye being told multiple times that they were and having eaten them multiple times.

Love the place. Been a customer for 3 years now. Good prices, good portions and great service. I took away one star cause of the music and loudness when you there in the evening. But for a brunch or lunch it perfect.

When seated at the table was told we had to leave to table for 6pm, it was 5.10pm. We should have been told before we ordered food . We would have gone elsewhere

Weave been a couple of times so far - once in December and once just into the New Year. Both times the food has been excellent and very fresh. We were particularly impressed with the provision of gluten free options for almost all the pasta and pizza dishes. Staff have been friendly and helpful. The second time we went, the restaurant was very busy, including with a large Italian family (always a good sign for an Italian restaurant, I think) so the service wasn't particularly fast but I guess that's to be expected. I would agree with another reviewer (and why I only gave it 4 stars) - the music at times seems very loud. The first time we came, the music was fine but the second time (when it was much busier) it was too loud. I don't know if someone complained but at one time it seemed to be turned down only to be turned up again shortly afterwatds. This is particularly a problem for us as we have an autistic son who experiences sensory overload with normal volumes so we will probably only be visiting this restaurant when we don't have him with us.

Absolutely top of its game. The food was delicious, the service great and the atmosphere fun and lively. The staff asked if anyone had any allergies before we ordered which was really considerate. We visited on Saturday so it was noisy but I felt that added to the great atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

I ordered a fillet steak which basically was served with 1/8th of a tomato and a bowl of greasy French fries, extremely disappointing, maybe try Ask next time.

We’ve been coming to Caffe Caruso since it was a small little side room off the marketplace in Warrington. My kids have grown up eating their food & loving it. My daughter even applied there to be a waitress when she was at college! But tonight was the last straw. It has been going downhill very slowly over the last 12 months. It’s Christmas Eve tonight & we’ve just got back from there after a very disappointing evening, food, service & ambience wise. Firstly the music was so loud you couldn’t hear each other talk, it was uncomfortably very loud. We asked for it to be turned down at least 3 times but it kept going back up. Secondly the food was bland and tasteless. My daughter LOVES their chefs spag bol but tonight she said it tasted of nothing. My other daughter, my hubby & I all had prawn gamborini which was just ‘all right’ & at £20 a portion not cheap. Thirdly, the girls on service were slow, looked miserable and acted like they didn’t want to be there. As a family, we loved this place, but I think it’s time we tried somewhere new after tonight. Please take these comments as constructive feedback & act on them, I really want this place to be good but it’s nowhere even close at the moment. I’m really sad as this place was part of our lives when my girls were growing up, we had so many lovely trips into town & into this restaurant sometimes just for a toasted sandwich and a cuppa tea!!! Pizza wasn't as good as it has been in the past. Lasagne was superb, Beware of the bitter, its out of a can 🤣

Only ordered 2 coffees at £6.90,paid with £20 note and the waitress asked me if i wanted any change!!!!!!, couldnt believe it and this was my first visit and certainlly my last,disgusted

Knocking one star off for service purely because the food came out before the drinks we were waiting a while! And the plates were left on the table until we got up to pay. Food is really nice and good value for money a full pizza is just £9 and so much choice. Always have the Italian style garlic strips they are amazing!

A lovely meal out with friends. The food was excellent and delicious. The service was spot on, and the price was very reasonable.

This place is not as good as it use to be, have visited in the past and always enjoyed it but today we were very disappointed in the food. No butter on the bread of a sandwich, tasteless cheese and the chips were absolutely awful. We won’t be returning to this establishment again. Expensive for a rubbish meal!

Amazing food and staff! Loved it!

The food is lovely which always makes us give them a second chance, but the waitresses are useless - on a few occasions recently, I’ve been left sitting outside for 20-30 min and they haven’t bothered to come and attend to customers sat outside or to take their orders. They’re waking round with their heads in the clouds.

Been going to Cafe Caruso for 20 odd years. Never had a bad experience, service is excellent and food is spot on. I have seen a few reviews on here that I personally, and I know many people that would agree with me, are a load of nonsense. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone.

First time I've been and although I had wait for a while for a table (it was Saturday night at 7pm, it was rammed and I hadn't booked, so it was my fault!) it was worth it. Got starters, mains and desserts and they were all amazing! Really reasonably priced too. Highly recommend the risotto piemontese! Will definitely be back and will book next time 😊

Use to really like it here but in my opinion not as good as it use to be

Went for a family meal for my 50th birthday. There was 21 of us! Couldn’t fault anything. The food was amazing. Every single plate came out very hot. It was so tasty. Could not fault it. The service was also amazing.

We visited last Saturday (my friend's birthday) and Caffe Caruso is now one of my favourite Italian Restaurants. The Penne Supremo was delicious, one of the nicest meals I've ever had. We all picked the same as it looked so good on the menu, and we weren't disappointed. The service was exceptional and the staff are lovely. Can't wait for an excuse to go again :) Mark

Had a lovely meal to celebrate my sisters birthday but was disappointed that she didn't get the birthday song but another diner did earlier on.

Visited without a booking and the manager found us a perfect seat. We were very lucky as it was busy. Will definitely book and come back. The food was delicious and the service was efficient. The atmosphere was great. Lovely vibe. 😊 🙏

Hi, me and my mate used to have Breakfast in there a few a month. But we went in on Tuesday morning and it was NOT good at all. The eggs were salty and stone cold, the sausages looked warmed up from the day before and were Burt, the barm you get with the breakfast was very lightly toasted on one side and not toasted on the other side and yes that was also cold. I asked for black pudding every time I go in they never have it in and this time she forgot to ask the so-called chef and to top it all off my mate found a curly black hair in one of his eggs, I did like the mushroom though. When asked how was your meal? well, I told her she did say sorry and knocked £2 off the bill lol. So that is the last time we go in there again.

Lots of tables crammed into a small space. Staff more concerned withthe larger parties of people that us, took them 10 min to take our drinks orders. Long wait for food. Spaghetti Bolognese whist hot was made with the cheapest blandest mince. Lasagna was bubbling hot, served to a child without warning of how hot it was. Spaghetti Carbonara, whist hot the ham was cheap and nasty. Garlic bread looked and tasted like it had cone straight out of a freezer and heated up. My pizza also looked like they dragged it out the freezer was cold in the middle. I complained and they passed my plate around the staff for a few minutes before the large gent behind the counter asked me if I wanted it headed up. Maybe he likes cold uncooked pizza? Maybe the owners should go and eat at one of the proper italian restaurants and see how its done properly. Drinks we ok but way overpriced. Won't be going back. Better places to eat in walking distance of here.
