Caffe Concerto in City of London, Westminster

Friendly and reliable service. Despite the crowds at peak times I was able to choose a larger and more comfortable table.

We visited here over the Christmas period and would not return, my husband and I witnessed Chun (I think that's her name) being shouted at in a very unpleasant way by her manager (I think he was Indian) absolutely unacceptable to treat employees like this, Chun was nothing but attentive to us and provided a great service. The shop on the other hand was filthy, mugs absolutely disgusting with previous coffee stains on them, its 2025 and I cant believe what I have witnessed in the café, no need whatsoever to treat employees like this, disgusting!

Siempre habíamos querido probar este café / restaurante así que decidimos reservar antes del teatro. Habíamos reservado una mesa con antelación ya que sabíamos que estaría ocupado. Aunque habíamos reservado previamente tuvimos suerte de conseguir una mesa. El servicio era muy pobre y lento. La comida fue una gran decepción que fue totalmente inesperado. Mi marido tenía un plato de mariscos que no era barato, sin embargo, era un placer ya que estamos de vacaciones. Todo parecía como si se hubiera cocinado el día anterior, ya que no parecía fresco o acogedor. ¿Tenía una colada de pino que era horrible ya que estaba diluida con crema sintética por encima? Tenía los ñoquis de espinaca que eran muy pesados y similares en que la salsa definitivamente no solo se hizo caliente. Mi marido pidió 3 veces una segunda copa de vino y simplemente se rindió y solo pedimos la cuenta. La camarera apareció entonces con la copa de vino que habíamos pedido media hora antes y el capuchino que ni siquiera pedimos. El gerente nos dio el vino gratis, sin embargo, muy pobre en general

He leído comentarios anteriores, que me parecieron muy interesantes ya que mi esposa y yo encontramos lo contrario a la mayoría de los comentarios. El personal era muy amable y hablador la comida se sirvió rápidamente con ambos platos siendo muy sabroso el precio puede ser un poco alto, pero teniendo en cuenta que estás en el distrito de los teatros y no es un restaurante de comida rápida, ¿iría a este restaurante de nuevo? -Sí.

Very pleasant restaurant, both in terms of food and service (provided by a waitress who claims to be a beginner but is very professional and lively). Regarding the price, it is also correct, especially for two plates and two full glasses of alcohol. It's a nice surprise and I recommend this establishment.

Great Location, Peoples and Food. Simple but very flavorsome foods , staffs were so attentive extra mile that they offered to take our family pictures.

I went here for the afternoon tea. Sometimes it is hard to find a good afternoon tea and you need to book it in advance. After being unsuccessful on my hunt, I came here as a walk in. It was no problem at all. The quality was good, not the best and most exquisite but still delicious and satisfying. And this interior and groomed waiters are excellent l. Would recommend.

We had a pre-theatre family birthday party here today for 11 people including two children. Food and birthday cake delicious, and charming service. Thank you to the Cafe Concerto Shaftsbury Avenue team for looking after us so well today, we had a great time.

Tonight, I observed the manager berating and abusing a hard working employee, who was left in tears as she seated guests and served food. Shame on the manager, shame on the owner for hiring him- please do not eat somewhere where abuse is tolerated.

Rude staff , Hospitality was very very poor One the female servers was extremely rude she had a lot of attitude The branch manager was very helpful He tried to sort the situation out .

The worst coffee and scone experience i have ever had was yesterday at Caffe Concerto Shaftesbury Avenue. Coffee was so bad I left most of it. Waitress service was so bad a table of four people walked out after waiting too long. Maybe that's why it was one of the few eating places empty. Hopefully this was just a bad day, but from the blasé staff I doubt it.

Great place for scones and tea 💕

We booked for afternoon tea, for two. Lovely service. Nice atmosphere, warm. All served nicely. Little sandwiches, scones, mini rolls and small cakes. Plenty for two. The scones were warm but a little hard. Everything else was really good. We weren't rushed at all. Would definitely return.

I'm sorry to say it, I bought two slices of cake and they were downright disgusting. I think it was meant to be a red velvet cake, but it was very dry, and the cream was simple butter with sugar. I simply threw them away, it is not possible for a top brand to sell cakes that you can also find in Tesco.

Cakes nothing special, salad with prawns to avoid :(

I’m a regular customer at Café Concerto and I’ve been eating the shrimp Caesar salad for more than two years regularly. However, today when I had the Caesar salad at this branch the shrimp the king smelt very bad and rotten and it tasted bitter. When I called the waitress and told him about it, he didn’t listen and he said this is how it smells like this, but he knows that we’ve been very regular customers for a long time and we knew how it tasted but he wouldn’t listen. I told him to complain about this to the chef he said is this is supposed to smell like. This was definitely rotten Shrimp and he said it was fresh. Additionally, my mom ordered the Fratelli salad and the rocket was expired and looked very lean.

The bar counter lady Bisma is so unhygienic and unprofessional that she is digging her nose and touching her face , coughing on drinks before serving openly without mask or without putting hands on face. Looking at her we canceled all food and drinks order. If she is so dirty and unhygienic while handling edible items, drinks,food being at open counter then really we doubt the hygiene at kitchen area downstairs. Since couple of years almost but after seeing Bisma's unhygienic habit at bar/beverage counter we will never step in here.

The place is designed in the royal English style It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon in the heart of ❤️ crowds. The place was relaxing after a long walk Requests cappuccino and rose tea (don't order it) hot water with a rose. I am sensitive to its value and we ordered a crepe with pieces of strawberry fruit with banana and covered with delicious chocolate. The experience is excellent if you are close to the place, it is not worth a long trip

I was in London this weekend with friends, and they brought me here for tea as per English tradition. Even though I'm not a big tea drinker, I particularly appreciated some of their typical specialities, accompanied by exquisite desserts. I also compliment the service, waiters and waitresses always available and very kind (thanks Bisma!) Experience to repeat as soon as I return to London!

Great pre theatre show meal. Just up the road from the Prince of Wales theatre. We ordered grilled chicken breast x2 with a spinach side and our son had fish n chips & absolutely demolished it. Really lovely meal, not over priced imho at all..

I regularly frequent the Caffè Concerto chain if I am out late and fancy a coffee and dessert. This one is more "intimate" than the larger ones, but I managed to get a table without a booking. I had the Biscoff Lotus Cheesecake (highly recommended) and a Spanish Latte which is new to the menu. Both were served very promptly and I had a very good experience as always.

The service was appalling. The waitress came back 3 times (the 3rd time after 15 minutes meaning she still hadn't placed the order) to check what we had ordered and still got it wrong. Two of our group of 3 were eventually served their drinks whilst we had to chased the restaurant several times for the missing ones. We were also incorrectly served double portions of cake which we returned, however they still attempted to charge us for them. However what was more alarming was then when I went to use the ladies I was informed there was no loo roll. The cleaning lady was present so I asked her to if she could get some and she looked horrified. She disappeared for a few minutes only to return to announce that they didn't have any and offered me a huge blue roll of blue paper towel instead. Not a great advertisement for complying with Health and Safety in a food setting. The drinks and cake were unremarkable. I had been looking forward to visiting Caffe Concerto but I certainly won't be returning in a hurry.

Black Forest cake is definitely not a Black Forest cake! Taste is completely different. Service is a bit slow.

Lamentablemente el gerente del restaurante parecía totalmente desinteresado cuando llegamos, y no podría haber importado si hubiéramos reservado o no. La comida era buena, pero no excepcional. Ocupado, pero el ambiente era bastante impersonal y no volveríamos.

I can't give less than one star, the black forest cake was completely dry and really disgusting, the ingredients weren't even the same (I came here 7 years ago and it was delicious, now everything has changed, even the management) and when we told the waiter who gave us the bill, he didn't charge us just for one cake, when there were two of us who had ordered it and for both of us it was really nauseating. It was very rude, we will never go there again.

Horrible experience, they made us wait even though there was room, we waited 30 minutes for a cake because it was forgotten, the cake was poor and above all fake it was all dry. All very sad

I went here on the weekend with my sibling and we absolutely LOVED it. It has such a cute aesthetic and vibe, the food was delicious, iced tea so refreshing, and the service was great! I had some strawberry cake and strawberry iced tea and was sooo happy with my choice, absolutely delicious! Will definitely have to return to try some other treats sometime, highly recommended!! ❤️

La comida era buena, pero dada la ensalada griega era de £ 17. 95 , esperaba más de 3 pequeños cubos de queso feta. La Tartina de Salmón y Aguacate fue mejor valor a £ 1. 00 menos. En su haber solo sumaron 6 . El cargo por servicio discrecional del 5 %, que dado que ‘All Bar One’ en Leicester Square agrega casi el doble de esto, no fue tan malo. Whether it's a sensational lunch - from delicious pasta to risotto, meat or traditional cuisine like fish and chips - simply delicious! The icing on the cake are the delicious cakes or tarts and especially the incredible tarts. Incredibly delicious! The coffee is really good too!

I ordered a risotto and said I was gluten free and they took 1 hour to bring it out and it wasn't even gluten free. Then I asked if I could have a glass of water and they said no..... I don't recommend

All the staff were delightful. In particular the manager, a gentleman who served me in the evening whos name i have sadly forgotten, along with another gentleman who served me in the morning called Pavan Sai. I adored the food and the ambience of the place and i will be making many return trips.

Sat down for a sandwich. Everything tasted great. The homemade lemonade was also tasty. The staff wasn't really looking forward to it. Walked around a bit disinterested. In addition, everything was a bit overpriced.

Great staff (waiter and the lady at the bar). We felt very comfortable being here! The chocolate cake is amazing, but the vegan pistaccio was OKAY :) All in all we would absolutely recommend, especially between 8-9 pm or for breakfast

Nice little cafe. We both had paninis and they were good but the real advantage of this place is it’s right on Shaftesbury Avenue across the road from the Apollo Theatre…perfect for a pre-theatre bite.

The Full English Breakfast was amazing. And the people that work there were amazing and really lovely. Overall amazing experience.

Worst afternoon tea experience. Food is stale and dry. Deserts were so bad. We just drank the tea and had to throw our food away. We never waste food. Just could not eat it. It was so bad. Waste of 74 pounds. It’s a loot.

It is a beautiful place where you can rest calmly and comfortably, with the most beautiful atmosphere at the corner and the edge. I recommend it to everyone and the prices are affordable.

I came here when I was tired from shopping and wanted to take a break with scones and tea. It was easy to enter the store and the delivery was quick! We had a great time!

I enjoyed the coffee there and I was pleased by the amount of vegan/vegetarian options found in the menu. The service, however, was not as great. Just a little bit slow and not very attentive to the clients. I do not recommend eating in the exterior part due to the amount of people walking in the street.

Very poor and seriously expensive meal but final insult was their refusal to accept Scottish pound notes as payment for dinner. Manager very apologetic but said it was company policy. He had my sympathy attempting to enforce such nonsense. Will not return to this or any other branches which adopt this ridiculous stance.

Visited here before the Theatre, we only had a cake and drink but the food being brought looked lovely. The cakes were amazing! Staff were friendly and doing their best to get everyone in.

A very nice and cultured place, you can have a nice sit and drink coffee or eat something sweet, the service is polite and very nice, very comfortable places, and delicious cakes, perfect in taste, not too sweet. The overall rating is very good, I highly recommend it to everyone. 😊

Well first of all the waiters can't be asked, secondly the breakfast was really bad, the espresso cup was dirty( I don't think is been washed). The only good thing about that place was the black girl that had an amazing body and she was nice too🤙

Good prices for the West End. Service was good, the food was down to earth and tasty. We didn’t book, we just showed up. Lots of cakes to choose from.

Good service, over-priced, decent ambience, poor food, poor coffee. We visited here and the front of house staff were friendly, which saved this from being a one star rating. As expected with London pricing, everything was overpriced, with the added service charge. The pasta dish we ordered was bland; the sauce was watered down. This was likely a cost-cutting measure, but it was too obvious. I had a chicken sandwich, but their cost cutting habits extended to their sandwiches as well; there was hardly any actual chicken. We expected our £6 mocha to be at least of the same standard as the dozen other coffee shops in the area, but the serving size was tiny and it tasted cheap. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend a visit. There’s plenty of other places to visit in London so don’t be deceived by Caffe Concerto’s pretty exterior.

Had lunch here, would never go again. I ordered a chicken and halloumi burger, the chicken was so overcooked it was solid and dried out. My friend had the salmon nicoise and the salmon was overcooked. The serving staff were polite but at no point asked if our food was okay and yes I should have complained but being hot, tired and hungry I just ate everything else except the chicken. When our plates were cleared the waiter didn’t comment on me having clearly left the whole piece of chicken. We paid £72 for overcooked food, a coffee and a lemonade. If you are in the area on a Monday to Thursday during the day, I would recommend looking for the street food market at St James Church round the corner, the food looked and smelled amazing. My biggest regret of yesterday is not just walking back there!

Very very disappointing. Not my First visit to a Caffe Concerto. The first visit was a year ago at a different location I had the carbonara and was very impressed. So I had the same at this location and OMG what a mistake I might as well of got a microwave meal from Tesco. The carbonara was nothing like the other location. 😞
