It's a nero so you know the menu. A nice building well well-restored and a great place to sit and watch life in Vicky Square outside.

Fabulous drinks that on average are better than most other coffee chains. Sadly the man running it has a small man complex and is obnoxiously loud, other members of staff just don't want to be there. Sadly I come for the drinks not the verbal abuse. Others might like this approach, I find it tiring. A real shame as it was a gem up until this point. Oh well, plenty more coffee shops in the world..

Review of Caffè Nero Caffè Nero delivers exactly what you'd expect from a chain coffee shop: a reliable, no-frills experience. The décor and ambiance were standard for a Nero—comfortable enough for a quick coffee stop but nothing that stands out or feels particularly unique. That said, the coffee was a pleasant surprise. It had actual depth and taste, standing out from the usual blandness you'd associate with chain cafes. It was refreshing to enjoy a cup that felt like some care had gone into its preparation. While the shop itself didn't wow me, the quality of the coffee made it a worthwhile visit. If you're after a dependable spot with decent coffee, this bog-standard Nero does the job just fine.

Always visit this branch when I'm in Hull - it's a lovely spot where you can people watch as you sip your coffee.

It has very good selection of cakes, baking and coffee but not great on hot foods. The atomesphere is roomy and pleasant staff are usually friendly.

Standard Nero fare available - one of the “McDonalds” of the coffee world! Toilets are in a state of disrepair and it was chilly inside (had to keep my coat on!), but the coffee was decent and service pretty good.

Does the best "High Street Chain" Coffee.

Visit in sunny Saturday afternoon for a coffee . Lovely lady served me and even put a love heart on the coffee top. Nice coffee and cake with a good selection. The building is old and has a lot of original ceiling decorations. Located un the aqure gives it a very victorian atmosphere.

The staff were wonderful with our order and even managed to do my friend a wonderful iced chai latte with cinnamon on top

Every time you go here, there are several tables full of dirty pots. Not even fresh water to drink. Both containers empty. Don't think we will bother in the future.

Usual quality of food and drinks - constant across the chain. However there was a none English speaking gentleman in the queue behind me and they were a bit disrespectful when he didn't understand their questions, I understand this can be frustrating but the tack they took was not the right one. It was something along the lines of Customer "3 Latte" (not sure what he ordered) Female Server "large or small?" (meaning serving size) Customer "Yes" Female Server ....."No, do you want large or small" Customer...Yes, Fellow male server "Aw just give him large" as the female server was waving the large mugs at him" Customer "yes 3" Then the dark haired male server jokingly shouted out 3.30 to his colleagues and friend he was serving as a joke about the random answer the customer was giving and they all cracked out laughing at the customers expense. The customer was clearly puzzled and looked uncomfortable.

The young girl in the black air force ones with the Huddersfield accent was absolutely magnificent. The professional manner in which she conducted here self made me feel so incredibly welcome. 10/10 would recommend this cafe Nero to all of my friends at badminton.

Staff are lovely and always super welcoming but the drinks can be hit or miss depending on who you're served by.

A standard cafe Nero but sadly decor is very tired now and it brings the conform of sitting in down. Tables were all dirty but I think there was only one team member working when we arrived so understandable. For a Saturday I'd maybe try and put another team member on to help!

Didn't eat food just coffee with a friend who I hadn't seen for ages. Lovely ambience with classical music being piped through. Coffee was good.

Starting to show its age. With the ever increasing price of the coffee. Surely there's enough money for a tin of paint and a good clean. Service is also getting slower.

Lovely staff ... otherwise 'just' a Cafe Nero

Coffe was good, but the service was a little standoffish. We didn't feel very welcomed, and as we didn't immediately know what we wanted we were greeted by a huff and withering stare. Eventually, the barista did try to help us with some recommendations.

A busy but friendly venue. A good range of coffee, biscuits and cakes with the added chilled drinks and hot sandwiches available too. Do expect a wait first thing in the morning and over lunch time. Seating is now available outside during good seasons/weather too with great views of central Hull.

Dropped by for coffee and snack while out handcycling. Staff lovely, came outside to serve me as I can't get in this one without hassle of getting a ramp out. Coffee and snack lovely reasonable price also.

Out if the two Nero branches in the city centre this one i like the least. The staff arent chatty amd ALWAYS start serving the next person in the que and talking to them whilst still making my drink and before ive even paid! I could understand that this practice could save valuable time during busy periods yet they do it every time i go in, even if there is only 1 person behind in the que. Just think its a little rude and your made to feel they want you in and out asap. The Nero at at stephens couldnt be more different, the staff are always real friendly,chatty and yes ive seen them adopt the same practice here but only when its reallllly busy which in that case you dont mind, and they still continue to chat with you which is nice, the st steohens branch is defo much nicer on all counts!

Always our 'go to ' for great coffee! Food is of a good quality but, I have to complain about the (usually) poor choice of vegan food! They don't charge extra for oat/soy milk, which is a definite plus!

Just ordered a coffee with cream. The cream was expired, and it was bad. Asked at the counter that the cream is expired, they say no its fresh drink it.

Great building fantastic coffee we used to go here a lot, however it's dog friendly so we will not return as animals should not be in places that serve food its unhygienic.

Cortado was perfect, who needs long coffees when you're running round shops! And a very nicely warmed apricot croissant which I consider one of my 5-a-day. Nice comfy furniture cosy atmosphere. Can get a bit monopolised by laptoppers lingering over their latte! & get your loyalty card stamped for a free coffee, or add it on their App if so inclined.

Popped in for a take away coffee very early in the morning. The barista was very bright and jolly. No one sat in but all customers got a cheery welcome.

Just had a coffee. It's my go to for coffee anyway. So, just as usual, it's really nice. Plenty of seating with comfy chairs.

Great location overlooking Queen Victoria Square, typically brilliant Nero staff and a really chilled out vibe - particularly first thing on a Sunday morning. Awesome.

Perfect stop on a hot day the cold drinks were delicious and just what we needed. Cafe was clean as were toilets. Despite being hot and busy staff remained accommodating and friendly. Tasty food. Relatively quick service.

The women with glasses working here kindly saw we were a big group so moved the tables together + also told us about laptop chargers. Also we were doing geography work on hull and she kindly wrote some things to help us with it. When we left she also said to have a nice day. Would definitely recommend
