An absolute disgrace! 45 / person for Xmas dinner which was a joke!! Stay clear - amateurs definately not used to serving and staff uniform /atmosphere not what was expected on Xmas day! Do best to by - pass this one! Spend your money elsewhere ##read the reviews!!

Tonight after being a loyal customer, I will never be ordering again from Canton House again. 2 hours 40 minutes later still no food, lies told on 4 different phones call promised it was 5 mins away. Only explanation was it must have been delivered to the wrong address and an apology but you have to realise they’re busy. We’ll just lost customers.

Very good Chinese food to take away

Ordered the salt and pepper box. Everything was cooked nicely, chicken was crispy, while still being tender, chips were nice and crispy too. They need to work on the salt and pepper seasoning. Was pretty underwhelming, I'm pretty sure it was just a little salt, some sugar and maybe 2 chopped chillis. The website works well, which is nice because most chinese places here don't have one, with no way to order online, so I gave service 5 stars.

Didn't order because I was stuck in traffic. Looks to be a nice wee takeaway

Love this wee hidden gem in Barrhead it’s not fancy very traditional Chinese decor but the food is amazing and they do pre theatre deal on sat for £12.95 food is fab and Mary the waitress is so friendly and helpful ! We love coming here nice relaxing and costs same as take away to sit in but getting served is brilliant and no dishes or mess to clean when I come home !

Please sort your website out. Your food is first class. But you need to remove the option on website that asks customers to check if you deliver where you live. It's useless because l am in Neilston and it said after l.put my postcode in, we don't deliver there. Had to stop order to phone first to check. Also, you take orders and payment over the phone, so you should state that clearly on website. But at least you don't use Just eat.

Visited on Saturday 18th February, arrived 645pm. Waited 1hr for our starters of Soup and vegetable rolls. No sign of mains by 8.10pm when we left. Charged us full amount as we had to leave for a concert. Almost an hour and a half for cold starters. Waitress stayed away from us all night, no explanation. When we were seated there was a couple just arrived, they were fed and gone with us still sitting. Won’t go back, cold non existent food with terrible service. Avoid

Great value and fantastic food up in the restaurant. We went for the pre theatre menu 5pm to 8pm. 2 courses £10.90, 3 courses was £11.90 couldn't fault it.

The food was amazing as was the service well worth a visit we had pre theatre very reasonable prices

It's been some time since I have used this restaurant. The takeaway menu is extensive and the prices were good. It was certainly an enjoyable meal and the staff were very friendly as well.

By far the best Chinese takeaway in Barrhead. The price you pay for these big portions you get makes it a lot more affordable with having 2 kids to feed too! The food is great, however there has been a few disappoints with my take out. We've had chips that were undercooked, food being cold once I've gotten home (live a minutes walk behind here so shouldn't be cold) the staff I've spoken to can be a bit rude at times which put us off coming here but it really is only the good Chinese takeaway in Barrhead so started coming back. But more recently We've had no undercooked food and the staff seem a lot more cheerful. Highly recommend!!

Ordered a takeaway last night (birthday celebration)....after waiting an hour for food (which isn’t bad)...when it arrived - we had ordered salt and pepper ribs...which when they arrived they were not salt and pepper and they were tough/uncooked....so I called as the wrong order was received - the call handler was the rudest person I’ve ever spoken to! She asked what we wanted done...which was just for our order - which the girl said “salt and chilli” when we said no “salt and pepper”...she said “same thing” - which it isn’t....she then made comment about being stuck up and did we want her to “do a dance”....we were told we would get our right order sent out - which we didn’t! Also ordered crispy shredded chilli chicken....it was not crispy and there was no chilli in it also..... Our order that we told was getting sent out to us then never appeared - will NEVER order from here again - rude staff, poor service and for the price of the food - definitely not worth it! Also asked to speak to someone else when we phoned because of the woman’s attitude - apparently it was only her and the chef in! Terrible terrible service & her attitude absolutely impacted our night!

The food it great and so is the staff there is both a takeaway and restaurant tried both and they are excellent, you get your moneys worth with the takeaway side and the restaurant is good the portions are just enough to fill you up but not to much.

If I say cheap and cheerful it’s doing this wee Chinese restaurant a disservice. Very reasonable, business lunch type meal in the evening. Great choice of meals- the hot and sour soup is lovely. The best service and a real family feel. We love this wee restaurant.

Was sold a take-away meal that wouldn't have fed a small child let alone a grown man. Was tasty yes, but really wish I'd asked for my money back in the shop as it felt really light when I received it. Can't believe someone would be so miserly! Won't be back.

Got a take away from here and it was prepared quickly and was delicious! The women that served us was lovely and helpful when we didn't know what to order. Would recommend the sweet and sour chicken Cantonese style as it was delicious!

Chicken balls are so small it's unbelievable they size comfy on a table spoon never again will we get chicken balls

Reguarly use canton house as a takeaway at weekends and food is always consistenty good. There is occasionally a long wait at weekends but thats to be expected. Great honey chilli chicken!

Whether it be take away or at the restaurant upstairs the quality of food in the Canton seldom disappoints. Food always piping hot and tasty. Appears to always to be frshly cooked.

Food very good , they are competing with the Capital next door who have been in Barrhead since 1992, Canton can give them in run for their.money , might be a bit slow bur worth the wait.try it and forget about next door

I called my order at 17:30 and I was told this would be 40mins wait which was fine. It got to 18:30 called to see where the delivery was and they advised that this was on the way, I waited another half an hour and my order still wasn't there and I called again and they said they would call the driver. The order arrived at 19:00, this was a long time to wait I got my order but this was cold and there was items missing. I did call to tell them that there was items missing and they did bring them up straight away but they didn't comment on the food been cold. By time I got my full order half food was cold and the other half was hot, the food been cold was due to how long this took to be delivered. I don't think I would order from canton house again as they didn't seem bothered that my meal was cold.

Personal encantador y amable, la comida era abundante y muy bien presentado y probado hermoso. Pollo al Curry y arroz frito, carne en salsa de frijol negro con rojo, pimiento verde y champiñones, Pollo estilo dulce n amarga cantonesa, cada miembro de nuestro grupo disfrutamos de su comida. Restaurante bastante, pero estaba impecablemente limpio y el servicio era excelente, el personal no podría haber sido mejor

Good food up until it set my ass hole on fire

We dined in there was a slight delay in our mains as they were busy downstairs ,it was a lovely meal and so cosy we had the place to ourselves though .The food was plentiful and they have had a recent refurb outside the paint etc brought up to date , it's one of our favourite restaurants, delicious food and lovely staff.

not been in here for years empty when we arrived seated right away drinks ordered quickly . starters were great not long our main course arrived the food was great there was plenty of it great portions could not finish it then we had a sweet it to was very good will be back great food quiet don't no why three course £10.50 pre theatre if you've no tried like . Chinese you won't be disapointed

Habiendo tenido no sentarse en el restaurante chino en Paisley durante más de un año, nos subimos en el autobús a Barrhead para comprobarlo, y no fue un viaje desperdiciada.

Have tried all the Chinese places in Barrhead and even some in Priesthill, Settled on Canton House for now as the food is good and quick, The menu has a great choice also.

What is it with Chinese takeaways in Barrhead? Second one today to answer phone and tell me to hold on. They lost my order also.
