Staff are friendly and very helpful, food awesome. Highly recommend.

This is a lovely restaurant, very pleasant inside. The staff were polite and attentive. The menu was extensive and interesting. Food was served promptly, was very well cooked and tasty.

We eat here often and are never disappointed. Great food,wines and service and reasonable prices.

As it was a Monday evening, the restaurant was quiet. We were quickly given the menus and our drinks order taken. The food arrived within 15 minutes. The portions - for us - were above average. The sea bass was excellent and the Risotto very tasty. We shared a tiramisu between us. Very nice Would recommend Capri based on our visit.

Eaten here a few times and always enjoyed. However visited yesterday when weather was hot, it was so warm in the restaurant, even though the doors were open and we were constantly bothered by flies buzzing round our food while trying to eat. Suggest shut the doors and invest in some air con. Flies buzzing around are not good. Food was good, service slow and it wasn't that busy. Owner/manager not very friendly at all.

Attend with family few weeks ago. Food was lovely. Unfortunately only small vegetarian option. But if none veggie loads of options and I'm assured lovely. The venue was lovely with a great atmosphere. Not sure we got a new server as they just plonked our wine bottle on the table unopened and walked off.

Everything absolutely perfect , and can honestly say the tomato garlic bread was the best I've ever had.

Had lunch here during our Richmond visit. The place looks elegant, nice ambiance. The staff is friendly. The food was tasty and good, Pizza. Can recommend.

Awful experience. Terrible. Go here all the time and have (unfortunately) recommended it to lots of friends (sorry). Complained once when food was late (15 mins after everyone else's) and received a torrent of abuse from Kamal Alley in front of 2 young children. It's a shame because the rest of the staff are great but Kamal Alley is definitely not fit to run a restaurant. Honestly crazy. Nobody should go here. Ever!

Love this restaurant 1st choice for Italian dining when in Richmond North Yorkshire.

Ate here April 2024. We tried two Italians in Richmond and this was by far the best. Lovely service. Nice food. Really enjoyed our visit.

This is our second time here and both times we have thoroughly enjoyed it. The food is excellent, decent portion sizes and very reasonable. Great service from Danielle, who was polite and good fun. My wife had the Lasagne and I had a pasta dish, both were very tasty, the pizza's looked really tatsy as they came out, but can't comment on the actual taste as we didn't try them this time. Good atmosphere with plenty of people in the restaurant. The cutlery and plates were nice and clean and the glasses were really clen with no marks. This is our go to place in Richmond, and will be back soon with some friends.

Went here last night for dinner with the family.. All started ok , orders taken by really sweet waitress and starters and drinks arrived soon after.. fab However we waited over an hour for our mains to come .. other diners were being served but we were just sat waiting , no food , no offer of drinks, no staff checking we were ok, empty glasses , hungry .. Eventually a man who we now presume is the manager told us it was busy, no apologies , we said the service isn’t great , he snapped back ..’ I just told you , we are busy’ Food eventually arrived , very average , overcooked , cheap ingredients, not tasty. When we settled the bill we mentioned again the disappointing wait and was told ‘ don’t lecture me.. you are not welcome back here at my restaurant’ After our exchange he was quite happy to vent his displeasure to the kitchen staff for all to hear , rather then take responsibility for his own customer service skills . Shocking service , would never go back again Why this man runs a business like that is beyond me Note, we paid the full bill as we are decent people, but begrudgingly, as the night was ruined

Visited yesterday lunchtime, Sunday 24th March. Husband had a Zizza pizza and I had chicken in a cream wine mushroom and leek sauce with veg. Both meals were excellent.

Our large party was offered a late reservation, which was booked well in advance, with a reminder call the day before. We were told first that this didn’t exist on arrival and that the restaurant was closed, and the service was so terrible we left without eating. What a disappointment

Great food, lovely wine and lovely space and atmosphere

We went there just over a week ago and I had linguine with Sea Bass and all I can say it's the best I have ever had . My wife had linguine with Mussles and she really enjoyed that.

The wife and I stopped in for a bite to eat. She ordered the lasagna and seemed to enjoy it but it wasn't the best she'd had. I had the pepperoni pizza and felt the same. The food was alright and the portions were really big. The service was great, friendly and we felt at home.

The food was really nice , couldn't fault it. However the menu mirrors La Piazza less than 100 metres away.

Hadn’t been to Capri for several months and was a little wary after reading a few negative comments. Booked a table for four people on Saturday evening for a birthday celebration. Excellent service and drinks order taken quickly and arrived within five minutes. Starters arrived promptly and then the mains arrived within 20-25 minutes which was perfect. All four dishes were excellent including the salmon and a delicious polo picante. When i was paying even the chef popped out to ask how the meal was. Looking forward to my next meal at Capri.

Quite a nice restaurant in a lovely town just felt the food was not as good a standard as I expected. We ordered mussels but they didn’t have any so had the scallops but they were a strange consistency a bit soft not cooked like I’ve had them before. I had the hot shot Parmo but it lacked flavour from the jalapeño’s and pepperoni so didn’t add the additional flavour you expect. The chips were nice.

Bust tea time Italian. Fantastic pizza here, highly recommended.

We go here most weeks, the food is always very good, the service is excellent and it's a pleasant atmosphere although screaming children can be a tad annoying but that's the parents. The owner and staff are always attentive to us and regularly ask if all is ok. As we are in the hospitality sector we select our dining out carefully and I would and have recommended this place to others. The seafood platter is amazing plus lots of GF options for my wife.

Quite possibly the best meal I have ever eaten

Booked a table for 1900. There weren't more than 10 tables occupied but our main course still hadn't arrived by 2040. Other diners were similarly waiting long periods. We left at 2041. It was an awkward atmosphere & there was no attempt to come round & apologise to customers. It's a pity as we've had good food there previously.

Good value food, tasted nice. Service was a little hit and miss, drinks forgotten and a long wait for starters when tables around us ordered after but served before, was brought quickly once chased.

Away for a few days & decided to try Capri we had spoken to someone in the local pub who recommended it .. Glad we booked it was packed on a Wednesday! Starters- mussels in cream sauce & calamari in a spicy sauce with tomato & shrimps Mains- lobster & shrimp stuffed ravioli with king prawns & a tomato sauce , Tomato chilli seafood risotto. Great portion sizes Bottle of white wine was nice too .. . . Waitresses very pleasant & chatty. Would definitely recommend .. If we are in the area again would go back

Second time I've been here in 2 weeks, love it! My friend and I both really enjoyed our meals. Lovely decor, much more of a restaurant feel than other eateries in Richmond. Fantastic expansion menu, it will be a long time before I run out of choices. My friend had the salmon tagliatelle, said it was one of the nicest meals she's ever had, and she eats out a lot! Well done Capri, you are a wonderful addition to our lovely town. ❤

Dined here 19/4/23, my wife and I both had a fish dish. In both cases fish was so overcooked it was dry and had a crust on it as though it had been on a hot plate for a long time. My coffee was lukewarm. The restaurant was only half full, staff were sullen, and showed no interest in my comments. It is a smart restaurant, but, certainly our evening was very disappointing. Our first visit to Richmond!

Food was fine. Service wasn't great. They second you put the last morsel into your mouth your plate was whisked away. Felt like you were imposing in their time by being there

If your idea of good Saturday night is a jam-packed, understaffed, fairly chaotic restaurant with rude management then this might be just the place for you. Having booked we arrived on time but had to wait a while, but less time than some bigger parties already waiting. And then we waited at the table, and waited, no staff came - it was very busy, at a guess I would say 5 or so staff were trying to service a tightly packed room with well over a 100 customers. I had to capture one of the young serving staff to ask for some drinks, off she went, nothing happened, I asked another young waiter, nothing, another more senior waitress came and told us our wine was coming, more waiting, a senior waiter arrived with the bottle. He told us it was busy and we would have to put up with the delays - no 'sorry' or anything like that - 30 minutes to get an unopened bottle to the table (I'm pretty certain the young staff did put the order in when first asked btw). After that the owner arrived with his pad to take our food order, I made a gentle remark about the delays and he rudely responded 'you can always go and eat somewhere else'. So we left but not without some histrionics from the owner (highlighted in other comments). Obviously can't comment on the quality of the food this time, but the menu wasn't that inspiring.

Very nice food. Bit slow but we were in no rush so made it a good night with friends. Decent value and layout is nice in a nice space.

I came to eat here on New Years Eve with the family. We all had delicious meals. I had the spaghetti with seafood and it was one of the best spaghetti dishes I’ve had in a restaurant. Very impressed. The service and atmosphere was great too, I can’t wait to come back!

Absolutely lovely place, bright and spacious. The food was fantastic, and the portions were generous. Six of us went and we tried each other's dishes, everything was delicious and flavoursome - king prawns were stand-out, meaty and perfectly cooked. Service was fast and friendly. Can't wait to come back!

6 of us arrived at restaurant only two other tables of couples in the restaurant, when we sat down no offer if we wanted a drink. 15 minutes later was offered a drink. Husband ordered lamb shank but told not available. Starters were ordered when they arrived one was missing they were okay but nothing to write home about. We waited another aged for our mains which can only be described as poor. One member of the party ordered a side of chips which did not arrive but were on the bill. I ordered a chicken dish the chicken was really dry and the sauce not very nice. Salmon dish was okay carbonara one was inedible the other okay probably because had to be made without onions. We had asked for ice for drinks but had to ask several times. Asked for more wine had to wait again. Two had coffee when asked thought we were being an inconvenience. The service was terrible. Our bill was over £200 no tip was left due to the poor food and service. Will not be going back and will not recommend.

My wife booked a table at the restaurant for my 60th birthday - Tuesday the 20th of December at 6.45pm. We arrived right on time. The restaurant was reasonably busy. Ten minutes after sitting and looking at the menu a man (who we believe is the owner/manager) took our order of 2 starters, 2 main courses and 2 glasses of wine. The man returned within a couple of minutes and said that my wifes main course was no longer available, so she chose an alternative. Another customer on a table nearby had to re-order his food twice as he was told his original choices had run out! By 7.45pm nothing had arrived and we asked a waitress who then supplied the two glasses of wine. After a further wait we asked a different waitress about our starters, she went away and on her return said the starters were being prepared 'now'. Ten minutes later a prawn cocktail and my king prawns in a mild coconut curry sauce with rice arrived. The rice was tepid and glutonous (stuck together), although the prawns were hot. We finished the starters and waited. By 8.20pm nothing had happened, no one to clear the plates and no sign of the main courses. The restaurant was quieter now but but progress was really very slow. It was now almost an hour and thirty minutes since we'd arrived. There was no sign of our main courses and no one providing any updates or explanation. We decided to leave and went to the reception area to let them know we were going. We spoke to a waitress explaining that we had waited too long and were leaving. She said she would get the 'boss' who turned out to be the man who took our order. She told him we were leaving as we hadn't had our main courses. He made no apology - seemed very adjitated and wouldn't listen to our complaint. He tried to blame the waitress (who was definately not at fault) and then when we finally explained what had and had not happened he opened the door to the kitchen where I could see 4 or 5 guys at cooking stations and he launched a tirade of verbal abuse towards them. He used the 'F' word repeadedly and told the chef's that we were leaving because they were 'S**t' at their jobs and they were the cause of decision to leave. The man was completely out of control, quite aggressive towards his staff and completely unconcerned that everyone nearby could both hear and see his behaviour. I explained that we were local to Richmond, simply trying to celebrate my 60th birthday and that we definately wouldn't be returning. The man simply told the waitress (in no uncertain terms) that we wouldn't be paying and returned to abusing the kitchen staff - he was still shouting at them as we left. We felt obliged to say to the young female waitresses present, that this wasn't their fault. Neither of us have ever witnessed behaviour like this in a restaurant. This outburst would appear to have come from a man who purports to have over 40 years in the restaurant business (a quote from their own web-site). He completely over-reacted to what was, essentially a well founded but relatively minor complaint (in the scheme of things).

My friend and I went on a Tuesday evening, we tried to book for 7.30 and were offered 7.45. We arrived to a mostly empty restaurant. At 9pm we were the last table left, at 9.15 the music was turned off, a few minutes later we were told they would be switching some of the lights off and a few minutes after that we were ask to let them know when we want the bill. They may as well have just put the bill down and asked us to leave. Very poor hospitality, especially when we tried to book for earlier. Food was ok, but won't be going back as I've never been made to feel so unwelcome in a restaurant.
