Clothiers Arms in Stroud

Googled a pub around Stroud and came upon this one. Emailed to reserve a table and had a confirmation email back within an hour or so. A smiley lady behind the bar directed us to the restaurant. Greeted by a young lady who was very pleasant. 5 of us in our party including an 8 year old and an 11 year old. Ordered ciabatta, baguette, omelette and jacket potato. All of which was freshly prepared, well presented and good quality and arrived fairly swiftly. Husband had a pint of Butty Bach which seemed to go down well! There was a children's menu but our children preferred a baguette! Children's menu was fairly standard but mash on offer as well as chips. Will definitely return.

Stopped here a few times to break our journey home to Frome. Food and ale always top notch. Never disappoints. Highly recommended, well worth a visit.

Start with the positives. I had dinner from the busy kitchen and the beef bourgignon special was very good. Could only eat half. The super sub female bar staff was warm and friendly. The owner/manager was miserable and did not say a word at any point. Really unpleasant vibe from him. The bed was soft and lumpy. The decoration in the room had a weird wall of fake brick wallpaper for no reason. Heating wasn't working so there was a portable radiator in the room. This made the room either too hot when on or really cold when off, as no working thermostat in the room. The walls are paper thin. I was woken and had to listen for 2 hours to the two men in the next room debating Ukraine and Putin from 10.30 to nearly 1am The veggie breakfast was just about ok. Over salted. I paid 110. Too much for little or no sleep.

By far the worst room I’ve ever stayed in for what they charge. It looked to be the product of inept DIY – exposed ducting, daylight visible through the window frame, over-long curtains dragging along the carpet, wonky toilet seat, hot and cold taps the wrong way round and a cracked mirror – with basic and dated furnishings and décor. No so-called “superior double” should have only a small double bed. Having said that, the mattress was OK, the linen clean and the water hot, so it wasn’t a nightmare, just very poor value. As others have said, the food is good and the staff are friendly, but we wouldn’t go back.

The rudeness of service of one particular staff member was an artform. Another was pure lazy. We got a table outside (summer evening). It was busy so the table needed clearing but in order to sit down we used a tissue to wipe away the mayonnaise someone had smeared across the table. There was then just the rolling tobacco across most of te table, a full ashtray and the previous customers' plates and glasses. We went inside to get a drink and menu, then returned to to order as you'd expect back inside. At the table, we asked a female outside staff member if we could get the table wiped. 'We don't usually wipe outside tables but I'll see'. It didn't happen. When the dirty plates were cleared by the manager, we asked again. He sent a different female staff member - who wiped the one quarter of the table with a face full of resentment. Unfortunately the bar staff member forgot to tell the kitchen that we'd ordered all 3 items to come together, not as a starter, so one person's food came first. We asked outside staff for cutlery - and the same resentful staff member said 'you have to get it inside!' Unfortunately the guy who took our order hadn't told us about the cutlery - but the manager, when I went inside, helped to show me where (it's tucked into a wall we hadn't been past). The manager did say it was on a sign - it is, at knee level by the door in small writing - we'd just missed it. The problem was, the resentful staff member didn't want to serve or help. We've never seen someone so obviously and rudely speak or gesticulate to a customer. Never wiping tables outside? - we were told it was pub policy. Hygiene??! The manager, Stuart, internal a female and male bar staff and one another outside female staff were really nice. So you'd hope the two we encountered don't represent the pub. Stuart kindly refunded us. The burger that came out looked pathetic and by this time we didn't want to be there after such an uncomfortable scene. The unconventional pastry nachos we ate were nice. If any staff member anywhere pulls hand gestures to customers and won't help them, they don't deserve a job. Maybe it's a teen hangout, but it seems to want pub grub business. We then found The Albert who were still serving food - a completely different fabulous experience, in every sense of value and friendliness - slightly quirky, welcoming, delicious. If visiting Stroud, go there and don't waste your time.

We have just had dinner this evening, it was one of the most memorable meals we ever had in the UK, all the products are locally sourced, the portions are good size and freshly cooked.

We received a warm welcome, the room was spotless and spacious, pub food and beer were both excellent, so was breakfast the following morning. We would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Forth visit to the Clothiers Arms. If you're looking for a warm welcome, good food, good beer, and friendly locals, then look no further.

We were visiting the area for the weekend. Easily accommodated 8 plus a dog at short notice. Food and service was excellent and lots of choice. Goulash and parsley mash was a favourite. So good we returned the next day for a great Sunday lunch! Thank you Team Clothiers.

Overnight stay on our wat to granddaughters wedding. Fantastic bed and breakfast. Made welcome on arrival and wished us well on leaving. The food and was first class and a very good selection of cask ales. Will definitely look to book to stay there again if in that area.

We recently spent a night at the Clothiers, and can only sing its praises. The food we had in the evening was delicious. We also spent the night there and were very happy with our stay. The beds were comfy and the staff very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast the morning after was one of the best we have had when staying away. Big portions, and cooked very nicely. Overall a good quality friendly place to stay and eat. Lovely beer too.

Always forget how good this pub is. Had a really great burger with bacon. The staff were really accommodating and friendly. Service with a smile.. what’s better? Need to remember to come back.. cheers guys.. xx

Arrived here today for lunch was greeted with a warm welcome by Kim and she couldn’t have been more helpful. Great establishment great staff friendly atmosphere The food was amazing has to be the best gammon I have had My partner had the massive clothiers burger looked amazing and tasted even better he said 🙂 Will definitely be back again thanks for a lovely lunch 🙂

A pub with a restaurant section but one can also eat in the bar or the outside area. Good menu, interesting choices and friendly efficient service. They can cater for fairly large groups and when I went it was a busy night but everyone seemed to get what they wanted on time. The wie list is rather basic, mainly new world so bad for food miles and the planet although with an Italian still wine of each colour.

Barman was super rude he served his friends who where that’s instead of me. Not recommended you are not feeling welcome even you are local. Unprofessional stuff

What a gem of a place! Food was out of this world.. one of the best meals out I've ever had. Amazing specials menu .... food was divine and massive shout out to the chef! Will definitely be going back.

What a fantastic meal. Packed out but managed to squeeze us in. Prompt friendly serve. Will definitely go back as lots of lovely dishes to chose from.

My husband had lunch here today. We had a lovely welcome, the person behind the bar told us there were just a couple of things that we "off the menu" as she handed us the menu. Such a good idea as most of the time we take time choosing what we want only to be told that it is "off". I had the veggie lasagna which was delicious. My husband had the tartiflette which again was really tasty. It was also lovely seeing well behaved dogs there. We will certainly be back.

Me and my friend were on the way to the pub when we got caught in lots of rain, we ran in and we were absolutely soaking, we went into the toilets and we're trying to dry when a lovely staff member called Fred, walked and asked us did we want some staff T-shirts to wear, and we could wear them home aswell. This was very generous and thoughtful of her! She is a great worker, and very kind, no where else I know would have done this! Massive kind thanks to the clothiers and Fred!! 🤍

Firstly off i confess we are regulars here. Family of 20 for xmas lunch on 19th dec, Cannot fault anything in either bar or restaurant. Everyone went home happy. Thanks to bar staff and Jenny and her crew for making our day.

An early Christmas lunch well catered by the Clothiers Arms team - happy and friendly service with good basic dishes. Red pepper, butternut squash soup looked great. Prawn Cocktail was an enjoyable "blast from the past" for me - large prawns and a surprisingly generous serving - very tasty. Pan fried sea bass was very nicely cooked with roasted vegetables and salsa Verde. Creme Brulee though a little "overset" for me was still good, while the Chrismas pudding was very well received.

Stayed one night with a friend & would have been happy to stay longer. Everything was good. Welcoming & friendly staff, clean, nice garden. The choice of vegetarian food was good, the sweet potato/squash gratin was better than anything I'd make at home! Near a busy-ish road but traffic seemed to be minimal at night. Great place for walking the wonderful canal path, 2 mins walk away.

Pasé una noche en Clothiers Arms mientras disfrutaba de un breve descanso en bicicleta con un amigo. Las habitaciones son funcionales y la decoración un poco anticuada, pero están limpias y son cómodas. La comida (incluido el desayuno) era agradable, abundante y muy eficiente. Vale la pena considerarlo como base si visita Stroud.

Had a wonderful roast today.couldnt believe how much you get and all excellent quality and superb taste.Staff were so friendly and helpful.We cant wait to go again.

Mi esposo, mi hijo y yo pasamos la noche. Las habitaciones están limpias y son cómodas. Nosotros también dormimos bien. El desayuno caliente era fantástico. Recomendamos los Clothiers Arms si desea un breve descanso. Bien ubicado y un desayuno contundente. El personal también es encantador.

Esta comida fue probablemente la peor de todas. A menudo como lubina, pero nunca la he tratado como un asado. Dije que no quería un Yorkshire, pero me dieron uno de todos modos. He tenido verduras servidas al dente, pero todas estaban crudas. El pescado era solo un artículo comestible. Pagar 12. 95 fue muy decepcionante.

Me alojé 2 noches aquí y es un lugar fantástico para alojarse. Cerca del centro de Stroud y de los Cotswolds en general. Aparcamiento en el lugar, las habitaciones son preciosas y limpias, pero la comida es para morirse. . . No bromeo, fue excepcional. En general, es un gran lugar y lo recomendaríamos.

Fuimos a tomar una copa con nuestros 2 hijos ya que nos estábamos quedando en Stroud. Decoración y ambiente encantadores, sistema bien organizado (marcador verde para mesas limpias y gratuitas) y el hombre que nos atendió nos hizo sentir muy bienvenidos. Desafortunadamente no estábamos comiendo allí, ¡pero la comida olía increíble!

My family and I had a really great Sunday roast dinner here, it was our first time. The quality of the food was so good, the portions were very generous and the service was fantastic. The staffs were so nice, friendly, helpful and very accommodating. The place was lovely and comfortable. We will definitely come back.

Un grupo de 15 de nosotros tuvimos una comida increíble aquí el viernes por la noche. Fue una celebración de cumpleaños y ciertamente no nos decepcionó la comida, las camareras o el personal del bar.Ninguno de nosotros tenía ninguna queja sobre la comida, solo un montón de "Esto es magnífico", "oh, tanta comida"Honestamente puedo decir que ha sido la mejor comida que hemos tenido en Navidad y Año Nuevo.Muy sorprendido de que no hubiera más gente comiendo.Estamos ansiosos por volver para su infame asado del domingo en un futuro próximo.

Had to do a few things in Stroud so we decided we would have lunch again at this pub. As usual another very good meal. Lots of dishes to choose from. I went for a "lighter" option of a tuna sandwich, salad and chips - wow could not finish it, certanly was not light (even though they did not say it was lighter but the price made me think the meal was going to be fairly small). Beautifully presented. My husband had the jacket potato again exceptionally good. Lady behind the counter very friendly and welcoming. Was lovely to see that dogs are very welcome. All in all a very good time.

We had lunch with friends whilst touring around the Stroud area. It was a great find with plenty of parking. The staff were friendly and attentive and it was clearly a popular establishment by the number of customers present. We had an evening meal booked at another location so we decided on a light lunch, even though there is an extensive menu, specials board and separate sandwich menu. We had Whitebait, soup of the day, a Portobello Mushroom with Goats Cheese and a Coronation Chicken Sandwich which came with side salad, coleslaw and a portion of fries. All the food was delicious, clearly freshly prepared and not overly expensive; portion sizes are good. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend this pub. A little reminder, if you visit with a car and use their parking facilities then ensure that you enter your car registration on the electronic pad which you will find on the bar otherwise you might just get a ticket. The staff however will remind you.

Stayed here on walking trip with 4 friends. Good evening meals (fish and chips/burger/lasagne) and breakfast. Comfortable room. V good value

Terminé en este pub por casualidad un viernes por la noche en busca de la cena. Por suerte sirven comida hasta las 9. 30 pm, lo cual es inusual por aquí, la mayoría de los pubs dejan de servir a las 9. 00. La comida en sí estaba bien, nada particularmente especial, pero lo que cabe esperar por el precio, el pub en sí parecía animado y acogedor.

Visited today with 6 friends for a very long overdue reunion, 55 years overdue! The service was excellent, the food amazingly good value and at no time were we made to feel anything but welcome. Thank you so much, we will be back!

Me alojé aquí un viernes por la noche con uno de mis amigos japoneses que estaba visitando el Reino Unido. Nos asignaron una habitación en la parte de atrás. La habitación estaba bien amueblada, pero el baño estaba separado. Eso fue inesperado. . . y no tenía cerradura desde el exterior, por lo que cualquiera podría haberlo usado. El baño también estaba muy poco iluminado.No dormimos bien debido a la necesidad de tener la ventana abierta (hacía calor y mucho ruido afuera) además de que las paredes y las puertas no reducen el ruido para poder escuchar las idas y venidas de todos los que nos rodean hasta la madrugada. y luego de nuevo alrededor de las 6 am.Tengo que agregar que la puerta del alojamiento en la parte de atrás a menudo no estaba cerrada, por lo que cualquiera podría haber salido de la calle.En términos positivos, el personal era muy amable y acogedor, y la comida (cenamos y desayunamos aquí) fue fantástica! La habitación también estaba limpia.

A very friendly bed and breakfast in Stroud. Accommodation amazing, clean, tidy and the bed was so comfortable. Food top notch. A very welcoming establishment.

We visited the Clothiers on a busy Friday night for a 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration. I spent a lot of time in this the pub as younger man but have been living away from Stroud for too long now and haven’t had chance to visit the Clothiers in a long while. I was really happy to see that it hadn’t lost its locals feel and turned itself into an all too common gastro pub. I had read a few dodgy reviews about issues with staff but I have to say that we found the entire team to be on great form. From the moment we arrived and they were extremely pleasant and made the whole evening a pleasure-able experience. The decor hasn’t changed a lot in the last thirty years but that’s part of the charm. The food was great value. Not pretentious just good quality pub food. Portions were too much for most of us. You won’t go away hungry. I hope to be moving back to Stroud soon and would be very happy to call this my local. Great Stroud pub well worth a visit.

One portion of Fish & Chips, one Lamb Shank; both tasted rather nice alongside a portion of garlic bread (with cheese, naturally). Friendly (and patient) staff, good service with a smile, and good atmosphere as per usual here.

Food was delicious. Great value. Staff are excellent. Brilliant venue for that extra special dinner out.

Absolutely disgusting service I visited today with 2 friends and the waitress with long light brown hair in a pony tail was incredibly rude! She gave us our drinks and my one friend to round to my other friend to give her drink to her and the waitress turned around to him and said are you going to leave without paying and he said no of course not and she then replied well it kinda looks like you are! Extremely rude and unprofessional! Considering we sat in the beer garden for the afternoon and this wasn’t our first drink and we had ordered food unfortunately this will be my last visit as I don’t appreciate being accused of not going to pay for my stuff!

We have been 3 times recently to The Clothiers Arms and on each occasion we have had a great meal with good attentive service. We have visited as a couple on a lunch time and as a large group for a birthday celebration and can't fault the food or the venue. We have had the Sunday Roast menu and also eaten from the evening menu. As I said can't fault it and if you want anything special just talk to the staff and they will sort out.

Vamos aquí con poca frecuencia, pero el menú es predecible y nunca cambia de una visita a otra. Comí una ensalada de lubina y mi esposa tenía una ommlette en esta ocasión: ambas no estaban mejor que bien, con un filete muy pequeño de pescado, hojas flojas y un relleno mediocre de la ommlette. Los precios no son altos, pero preferiría pagar más por mejores opciones y calidad.

We were staying up the road for a family Christmas and it was our last night and the family had gone home so we popped to,the Clothiers for supper. Nice welcome, warm pub and good food. Wish we had visited earlier .

Fui a almorzar hoy. La comida era normal pero las instalaciones no eran geniales. En el baño de damas en el restaurante había heces o barro (realmente espero barro) manchadas en la puerta del baño. No estaban limpios y muy apretados.

An enjoyable pub lunch, food seemed fresh, tasted good with an ample portion for the price. Staff seemed pleasant and the menu was varied enough for all comers. Would recommend.

Booked a table and ordered in advance as there were a lot of us there for a leaving meal for my sister.

Booked a Table for Thursday Night Steak Night, 8 people 4 Steaks 2 Sausage and Mash 2 Ham Egg and Chips, all with a pint or glass of wine for £10 per head or just under, great service form staff clean tidy what a great night out.

My family and I popped in to have an impromptu lunch. the staff were very friendly and welcoming. both my wife and daughter wanted non standard (off the menu) dishes which the staff had no problem in accommodating. everything arrive quickly and was of a good quality.

I've lived in Stroud for seventeen years but had never visited The Clothiers, so last Friday I popped in for a quick lunchtime pint. It was a bit like going through a time warp: tired décor, sticky carpets and a pint that hadn't been very well kept. The most modern thing was the electronic system on which you have to register your car, even if you're just there for a very short time. The young woman behind the bar was very welcoming and friendly, though. I probably won't be going back for another seventeen years!

This place is just great whether you are just drinking with friends/family or going out for a special occasion meal. real friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices

Visiting Stroud for the weekend and needed a pub for Sunday lunch for 11 - we picked this place for its children’s play area and made an excellent choice. The food was fantastic, roasts were high quality, delicious and large in terms of portion size and range of veg. Children’s meals very big, fresh ingredients and very good value for money, we hadn’t realised they came with ice cream included. The stafff were friendly, attentive and so accommodating - we escaped soon after eating to the great children’s area outside and they brought puddings to us. Best decision we made coming here - highlight of our weekend and highly recommended.

After picking up our car from up the road this was the closest place to pick for tea as was on way home .. the staff were pleasant and friendly. The food was lovely . I went for the curry and a drink , the curry was one off the best that I’ve tried . We definitely be going back .we all had a lovely

Visited the pub twice this month, once to meet up with for friends for a drink and the other for a family birthday meal. Food and staff were great, but sadly I fell foul of the parking system. Expensive mistake.

10/10 for our first visit and roast. Super service and super value. The restaurant operates with 2 sittings for Sunday lunch. We missed the first so went back at 2.30 as the bar seating area was full of diners. Adults roast include a pint for £9.95 and childrens £6.95. A range of meat roasts were on offer as well as a vegetarian (made vegan for me by removing the Yorkshire pud). The roasts come with generous side dishes of veg and it was all a big hit with all 4 of us. Definitely going back and will book next time. Don't forget to put your car reg number into the touchscreen on the bar!!

I visited in the evening with a large group. We had had to pre-order but the food was wonderful and very reasonably priced. We could not believe what we got for our money. Nothing was too much trouble and the waiting staff were friendly and smiley. We have booked to go back in April.

We dined at the Clothiers on Saturday night with 3 other couples on our annual Xmas night out. We had pre order our requested meals and they were all lovely .Ample fresh vegetables and various dishes of boiled and roast potatoes were provided with all the trimmings to accompany the main courses .Starters were also fresh and plentiful my ham hock terrine was spot on .Wide choice of deserts available .Great beer ,great food great atmosphere ,Great staff and great value for money all in all Happy Xmas to you all.

Booked the restaurant for a family Christmas dinner, for 9 people, we unfortunately had people traveling from Somerset and Banbury and unfortunately they where delayed, and as they have 2 sitting we thought it would be a problem buy no they where very accommodating the food was excellent and the service was great. nothing was too much trouble.

Looked through various pub / restaurants in the area on Tripadvisor and this place seemed to tick all the boxes . So we popped in and gave it a try , we were very pleased with the polite speedy service and great selection on the menu and specials board , we ordered our choice and it came out in good time and was scoffed without nothing left on both plates , very nice ! Thankyou . so all in all its very clean , relaxing , friendly , tasty and reasonably priced , a place to remember for future journeys ! .

We booked Sunday lunch at the last minute for 7 plus a high chair. Staff were super friendly and helpful - even accommodating our dogs and a couple of buggies. Food was plentiful, hot, lots of veggies ( maybe too many potatoes for us ) and there were a good range of delicious puddings too.

We stayed for 1 night so we could go to a gig on Saturday night. The inn is very pretty...

This is a great place to go for a few beers or to have a meal. Decent range of well kept ales. Good quality food at very reasonable prices. As well as a number of deals depending on the day of the week. Very friendly attentive staff. Perfect!

Encontramos este lugar por accidente en nuestro camino de vuelta de Westonbirt y acabé yendo dos veces. Buena selección de cervezas y un amable. Gracias especiales a Kylesia, lo siento si no es forma de ola, que aguantar ruido 7 tíos. Prueba la mega hamburguesa o venado filetes, genial!

Asistencia bar personal muy servicial y una fina selección de cervezas la planta es plana en el bar (un poco de paso aunque la puerta) lo suficientemente cerca del centro con un aparcamiento de tamaño razonable. Visited with family (2 small children) for Sunday lunch; haven't been for a little while, simply due to chance, but the quality of the meal and the service were as good as ever. The waitresses are always well-trained, noticeably better than a lot of other restaurants. Good selection of 'roasts': chicken, turkey, beef, pork, sea bass and salmon. Not sure if there was a veg option but I think so. All served with the same veg etc and the special cubed potatoes. Always more potatoes and veg than we can eat, even though we eat more than most families! The parsnips were a bit tough and the beef was a little chewy but otherwise everything was great. Never disappointed here but you do need to book. Toilets are looking a bit tired and could do with a revamp - driers not working in either. Price of Sunday lunch includes dessert. Winstones ice cream on offer, 3 flavours; delicious lemon tart; profiteroles plus others which we didn't try.

Thoroughly recommend Thursday steak night - steak plus drink £9.95. Excellent value for money. Good atmosphere and friendly staff.

We visit the Clothiers restaurant regularly. The food is excellent for the price and the menu choice is like nowhere else in Stroud other than chain pubs. Staff are always friendly and helpful.I have eaten here as a couple, with friends and family alike and everyone has enjoyed it and happily returned.The beer garden is also a treat in the Summer!

Needed a Sunday roast to fill a gap while doing a day of DIY. Wow, great value, tasty turkey roast with all the trimmings. A pint included, roaring fire and friendly service. We just dropped in, just after noon fortunately and they were fully booked but we ate in the bar and we were in and out with happy tummies in 40 minutes. Excellent.

This is a local pub with a great garden for the kids to run around. Plenty of space so it never feels like kids are taking over. Food is average. Service is good. Ask the kids and they always say Clothiers.

Have lunched several times at the "Cloth Ears", never disappointed but after a meal last week with two young grandsons and their mum felt compelled to review.Firstly this is a pub which manages to mix a good local clientele in the bar with diners.We booked a table and had the last available, essential you book in the evening or you will be disappointed. The menu is brilliant for either a 3/4 course dinner or a quick but hearty meal. Because we had a 9y and 12y old with us we wanted to be away in about 1 hour so we chose the "bar" menu at £6.50 per portion. Great selection of about 6 dishes, fish, scampi, pork chops, curry all included. Also it was steak night, £9.99 for a rump steak and a drink of your choice. Two of our five had cod, chips, peas and salad, one had scampi, my daughter and I had the steak but my wife had my wine, I was driving!The food and service was excellent, steaks cooked as we requested, even came with a pepper sauce included, the cod was massive and proper cod, not the reconstitute rubbish so prevalent today, and the scampi was soon consumed by our 12y old.There is nothing not to like here, the pub caters for all, vegetarian meals are freely available and I would not be surprised if they would take food requests!We haven't taken dinner here yet but will certainly be returning soon, watch this space.

Had business just outside Stroud so location easy to find and bang on. A bit oldy worldy (but that's how I like it) friendly locals in bar when booking in, very clean and tidy room to the rear, to quiet too. Modern-ish restaurant to rear or you can eat in bar area, which I did while enjoying the real ale. Excellent well cooked and super value meal, I went off the blackboard special but there was a very good a la carte as well. Had a very comfy nights sleep and freshly cooked breakfast making it a very very good value one night for any business man.

We visited the clothiers arms for my wife's birthday , lovely food well presented excellent service the staff were very friendly and helpful , nice surroundings we have known this pub for 33 years and it has gone from strength to strength Good selection of beer. Booking advised

Starter was very good. Steak chequer than a pack of wrigleys extra, even the dog turned it down. Had to leave over half of it. No one asked if meal was ok. To top it off went for a pony and the door had no luck. Posh. Wouldn't eat there again.

Cannot ever fault having a Sunday lunch here . Lovely Roast Beef always lots of Veg . Extra gravy too . Lovely polite staff . Responsibly priced . Excellent all rounder .

VENUEWe ate in the pub garden, which is a nice place to be when it's sunny. There are also nice views across to Stroud's countryside. The garden is adjacent to a main road though, so maybe avoid during rush hour.FOODI ordered the Clothiers' signature burger, which consisted of two 1/4 lb patties, a chicken breast, and bacon. Although it was very filling, it wasn't particularly tasty, it was actually quite plain. The good thing about is this place is that you get decent portions for reasonable prices.SERVICEThe service was perfectly fine.

Not a very long walk from town centre, we found this pub to be friendly with attentive staff both in the bar and restaurant. We dined twice here and on both occasions though the food was excellent in quality and value and a level above 'pub grub' in our opinion. Good choice of ales and with a large outdoor area it seems to attract mainly local people. Well worth a visit.

Sunday lunch is good, had a meal during the week and not so great, but would try again to see if it was just a one off, but have had several Sunday lunches which are always nice (apart from the cheese sauce they use which is cheap and nasty instant stuff)

A group of 8 of us had Sunday lunch here today. The food was lovely and there was plenty of it ( we all had roast beef except 1 who had pork). Dessert was just as good. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us, making sure there was everything we needed. Excellent value for money - £12.95 for roast and pudding. We will definitely return again. I highly recommend people come and try it too!!

I go to the clothiers arms alot and they never fail to please me!! The food is delicious, the staff are polite and welcoming.

Came for lunch with my granddaughter. Had often driven past, and not realised what a great place the Clothiers is. Loads of parking, and a spacious outdoor area. Service and food both excellent - friendly landlady. Would certainly come again.

our friend recommended coming here. we ordered the sunday roasts and were amazed with all the sides that came out with it. I'm vegetarian so was happy they had a couple of veg options. the leek white sauce was superb. included in the price was dessert too and there were plenty of options. we were so full we couldn't finish the meal. pub is charming with a separate dining area too. wifi only works in the bar area. would definitely come back again.

This is a pub that severs great food and beer, there has been a fantastic atmosphere when ever I have visited and the outdoor seating is also good. Easy to get and loads of parking.

Visited on a Friday evening and sat in the bar area, as we had a dog with us. Very friendly service, generous portions and excellent value for money. Would recommend to anyone looking for traditional hearty cuisine.

We have eaten in the restaurant many times and have to say we have never had a bad meal. Great value for money and the staff are very friendly. Most recently had a Sunday lunch on Mothers Day, the menu was fantastic and everyone very pleased with their food. Thanks again to Harry and staff.

Just come home from a superb Sunday Lunch. Fantastic food, wonderful service and when the bill arrived we thought they must have forgotten to charge us for something! Amazing value! We will be back!!

Have been using Clothiers for years .... Harry and team fantastic....really put me off eating here recently as there were dogs everywhere.....barking... Slopping water.....what's happened Clothiers ?????? Outside yes but not with diners .....not impressed !!!!
