Costa in West Berkshire

Really great coffee shop with super friendly staff who were working on Boxing Day yet seemed to be enjoying it. Good variety of food and everywhere (including toilets) was clean and well maintained. Highly recommended.

The place is good and nice place for relaxing but the problem is the staff is not sufficient and effective. Neither bother about guests.

Worst hot chocolate I've ever had, more like warm milk.

Order was not delivered. Even though it says it was. Delivery driver asked for house number in message, eventually saw the message. Responded but then it said “Delivered”.

Would have dined in but they kicked me and my autistic 2 year old grandchild out because he had a meltdown while waiting for his food. The man who asked us to leave had a very smug look on his face even though he could see how upset we were. Absolutely disgusting. Didn't even care that we had just ordered. Won't be going in there again. Discrimination at its best.

Quite quick serving polite staff

Staff very racist. They always pretend do not see me. Some of the customer had to interfer so i could be served.

I am giving this outlet 3 stars as they are inconsistent with their service and their food display does not look appetising. However, it is spacious and a recent revamp allows seating in comfy chairs.

Great sevice and knowledge when in queue

I'm a very pedestrian coffee drinker, if I can have a lattè in my bamboo reusable mug and been served quickly and with a smile then I'm happy. Every trip is the same standard of drink, service, and setting so it's 'standard issue'. One thing they need to fix is the drying out of cakes in their fridges. I have lost count of the times I have had a dried out, stale cinnamon bun and the biscoff cheesecake was tasteless!

This is our local Costa and we don't normally use a café so close to home, but it was raining, so we took a break and a coffee here. It is just as any Costa Coffee should be, predictable but reliable. They were cleaning even the ceiling lamps when we were there, so they must take cleanliness seriously, even though some tables needed to be cleared. Happy to come back again when it rains.

Toaster was over cooked and chewy also no ham in it

Costa drinks were all spilt everywhere. Baps were hot. No option to choose to add ketchup / extra hot coffees etc.

Best place to get a delicious cup of coffee and a very tasty croissant. The staff are lovely and this branch had cinnamon for our cappuccinos.

Staff allowed lads they knew to queue jump. Also served using disposable takeaway cups and a bag for a slice of cake. When we asked why, the reason given was because it’s quicker than washing up!

Waiting is so bad I walk out more than wait sevice is so poor and the food is so so!!!!!

Very nice visit to Costa, drinks as expected, with plenty of seating.. Also, parking nearby in precinct which makes it easy to walk across for a cuppa!

Cant believe I only received half my order. So disappointed.

No smile from anyone. Store manager, who served us wasn't very friendly neither to us or the staff.

Great hot chocolate. But ordered a muffin too but it was out of stock and didn't send a substitute. Now to see how to get a refund for said muffin!

Food that arrived was great but the order was missing the two toasties that we'd ordered - they were supposed to be the main part of the order!

Mint choc chip frappe didn't have the choc chips. Noticed after getting in car and leaving parking. Nice.

ordered 2x salted caramel frappes, it Came late and was all melted time it go to us, it obviously got made ages before a delivery driver turned up, no cream or anything on top. Plus no Straws to drink them with. Definitely not as nice as the frappes I have in the shop. Disappointed

No cover over the hot chocolate and it leaked everywhere the bag split as it had leaked all in the bag and they’re only half of the hot chocolate left in the drink

It's popular what you would expect from Costa sometimes service is slower than could be can't really complain.

Very friendly staff, had a nice overpriced coffee and gluten free shortbread.

Ordered 3 drinks. 2 were correct. One was supposed to be a mango and passion fruit cooler. I received a whole cup of cream with a blob of purée at the bottom of the cup. Something not even remotely correct to anything on the menu….

Possibly the worst Costa going.

Didn't know what Cold Brew was. Didn't have any either, which isn't unusual, but it is on the menu. The mint choc chip Frostino is now brown. It used to be green. Odd. Good space, though, so relatively COVID-19 safe.

Asked for white coffee with skimmed milk with 2 brown sugar I revived black coffee with no sugar, Disappointed

Up to expectations today although could not get coffee club points as machine not working. Since lockdown has been refurbished and usual stuff, now able to get M&S food!

Excellent place to meet for a drink. Queues can be slow, but if you're patient then this should not be an issue

It's a good Costa, it's recently been refurbished and has a large seating area however it can be very busy in there so it can be slow or hard to get a table.

They are generally quite good, but on one occasion a staff members product knowledge wasn't as good as it could have been. I purchased a Costa travel mug and asked a member of staff if it fits a large takeaway drink and she told me it did. In actual fact it's 16 oz and a large drink is 20 oz. Considering it was £8 for the cup was a bit miffed.

As everyone can see I don't write many reviews , but I just had enough of the way customers are treated in the Thatcham Costa. Today I have totally losted, so ordered on the app as usually (almost every day ) at 8:05 arrived around 8:15 when the coffee supposed to be ready by. My daughter usually picking up a coffee and assuming that she does it for last 3 months, nothing is ready she coming back to car and saying lady didn't even give her say the word when she tried to ask for coffee - lady only told we not ready for you. My daughter comeback upset, buy went back another one or two times inside to check if the coffee is ready. It wasn't is 8:20, so I decided to go and check what's happening with my coffee. I looked how busy are two girls - they really were very busy (possibly understaffed) I asked how is my order going - reply we don't have any order (that happend previously - possibly issue with the system) and usually I would not have a problem if the lady would react as most people would when I showed her app order number etc. She first said I didn't order 20 min ago which I did, and then she started to print orders showing my one is not there. And what I needed is someone just to say sorry we are making this now. I know no one is perfect, but I had some issues previously with Costa app and only Thatcham Costa customer service was less then adequate in their reactions- I felt under attack. Also I think I decided to write this review as I have witnessed this behaviour of being condescending and not apologetic to customer few times. And never really felt welcome by staff always felt more of inconvenience. I personally decided to stop using Thatcham Costa - I know it doesn't make much difference for them. I hope anyone who visit the Thatcham Costa would be feeling welcome not as intruder.

Always a great cup of coffee. Thatcham Costa is Now my other local. So you are aware My order is a small americano with full fat hot milk on the side, and a Costa biscuit. See you at least once a week from the middle of December. Merry Xmas to all the staff that work in all the Costas
