Crispins in Chichester

Fantastic full cooked breakfast today (27/12/24). Great owner and staff, but best of all great quality locally sourced produce. I would highly recommend the full breakfast! 10/10

Recent experience at this cafe was not very good, kids food is very overpriced for what you get and not very nice the ham was extremely salty, too much margarine very overpowering and only the equivalent of half a sandwich is what you get for £6.95 this was very disappointing and not child friendly. Crispins club sandwich was very cold as if it was pulled straight from a fridge and the drinks service was very average again overpriced. All in all bad experience, as a local resident I won't be returning. As I can't reply to a response from my review I have added it on here. Thank you crispins for your reply, I fully disagree with my review being unfair as this was the experience I had when visiting lately and this is my own personal opinion on the service and food i received, id say it is very unfair you stating i gave an unfair review, im sorry it couldn't be a positive one I am just being fully honest! Reviews are there to add experiences! I did refer to the menu when I visited before placing my order and it will be added with this review and as you can see it doesn't actually state the chicken and egg being cold and you so kindly outlined it did state! if anything it stated the chicken being grilled wihich would incline it being freshly cooked under a grill! Therefore i would probably ask you to review your menu instead of assuming I hadn't as a customer already done so myself before ordering.

Manager is not nice at all. He is a awfull person. Would not recommend the food the service or the atmosphere. Feel bad for the employees.

Nice eaterie with friendly staff and nice space out back. Fairly priced too. Good for a lunch whilst in Chichester. Nice sourdough toasties.

We've been coming here for about 30 years. In that time it has had 3 different landlords/ladies. The quality has always been high and, with the current landlord, Joel, the standard has continued to impress. The coffee is excellent, the breakfasts likewise. We also enjoy the scones and the toasted teacakes. We keep coming back.

Excellent breakfast, the coffee is good too. Still outstanding. Smashing staff. Lovely decor. This café just keeps going from strength to strength. We love coming here and chatting to the landlord Joel and his excellent young staff.

I had to kill half an hour, so popped in here. The tired plastic flower on the tables says it all. No atmosphere or welcome. Perhaps it is better on a sunny day when the place is warmer. Small terrace at the rear for those elusive summer days.

Just had very disappointing breakfast , mushrooms on toast ( old frozen or cheap packaged mushrooms) tasted disgusting , if you are charging £30 .00 for one vegan breakfast, mushrooms on toast , one tea and one coffee at least make sure the food is fresh , coffee wasn’t nice and vegan breakfast sub standard . However cup of tea was nice and lovely staff . Disappointed customers .

I visited crispins while I was staying in Chichester. The food is always delicious and fresh . The service is great. Owner is always there to give a warm welcome 😊😊. My son still goes there as it is his favourite place .

Very friendly staff and owner, welcomed us (2 adults and 2 children) with open arms - glad we popped in - fantastic food and decent coffee. Bent over backwards to accommodate our children's bizarre food choices. (bacon and chips?!?) Lovely all day breakfast - we ere genuinely delighted - now that doesn't happen often these days!

Love this cafe! My friend and I come here every Monday and we are always greeted with a big smile and made to feel comfortable and welcome. The service is excellent as is the food and drinks. There are 3 seating areas, all decorated with a natural plant theme. My favourite area is the conservatory which is light and is a happy place to while away the hours, chatting to friends over cuppas and a nibble.

Great cafe with a warm and friendly welcome. The lunch options were varied, and I opted for a toastie. The bread was of excellent quality, and the toastie itself was fantastic. Service was quick, attentive, and very friendly. Highly recommend!

We picked this place out instinctively, great vibe. Un-prepossessing store front, very welcoming. The staff were friendly, approachable, good humoured and clearly like their work. The food was v good and the portions generous. And they accept CASH!!!!

Great way to start a day with a freshly cooked breakfast containing quality sausages, bacon, hash browns, eggs, beans, tomato, and mushroom. Left really satisfied. Among all of the eateries in Chichester, Crispins is by far our favourite, especially for breakfast.

We had really good experience at Crispin's from stat to finish. Staff were really friendly and accommodating with our food requests. They have got everything on the menu from all day breakfast to home cooked food with homemade desserts too. I highly recommend Crispin's and definitely would visit again.

Went here for breakfast, included in the breakfast was 2 hash browns. My husband doesn't like them, so I arranged an exchange. He could have extra beans instead of the hash browns. When our food arrived, my husband had 2 hash browns and no beans at all on his plate, also in the menu it stated that there should of been 2 eggs. We both only had 1 each. So what with the hash browns that my husband hates, the missing beans, and only one egg. My husband left hungry

Had breakfast here yesterday, was really not very impressed. I stated that my husband didn't like hash browns. It was agreed that he would have exta beans instead. When our breakfast arrived, my husband had hash browns on his plate ( which he doesn't like) but no beans at all. Also there should of been 2 eggs on both of our plates, but we both only had one. My husband left still hungry.

I just really loved everything we had. The eggs benedict were just fantastic and cooked perfectly ! The White mocha with coconut milk was perfect too!

Researched on Tripadvisor before visiting Chichester for the day & was very pleased that I chose this cafe for lunch. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, lots of lovely areas to eat & very nice food. Would definitely recommend

We were looking for an independent cafe and this one seemed to fit the bill. It wasn't very clear you needed to find a table first with the number before ordering, but once that was explained (as we were dithering) we headed towards the tables. One of the staff kindly suggested the courtyard and pulled the canopy out as it was a bit drizzly. We ordered at the counter and our drinks came quickly and our sandwiches shortly after. The staff were very helpful and friendly. For two of us for tea and sandwiches with upgrade to chips for one, our bill was £21 more or less which we thought was good value.

Poor service and slightly overpriced for what it is

burger was way overcooked, it was dry and definitely not value for money, I will never order from here for nearly £20 with delivery I would have expected a nice tender burger, not a overcooked dry bit of beef. you definitely need to check before you send out.

Lush food and come nice and hot

food is tasty and full of flavour, it did take a long time to start preparing from ordering to delivery around 50 minutes but was worth the wait.

Bought 2 99 ice creams, couldn’t believe the cost, £6.20 including 20p for chocolate sauce! The owner said to the cashier, don’t forget to charge for the chocolate sauce. 🤣

This was the second time we tried this venue as it looked good from the outside and we like to support independent companies. The first time we left after 20 minutes as no one was able to serve us after asking a number of staff members. Today was even worse as again the service was poor even though we stayed this time and paid the bill, we felt we had been robbed and would suggest you avoid. This place is poorly run and food is overpriced for what is provided. In reply on our first visit we went to the counter at the front where the coffees are made and tried to order but were told to go back to our table and we would be served there, so we tried but your staff would not allow us to order at the counter which appears a communication issue!

Popped in for a light lunch. Pleasantly surprised by the large interior. Service was friendly, food tasty and good value.

Had late breakfast today, even at 3pm you can get a superb English breakfast, the so called small plate is very generous & the toasted brie cranberry sandwich was delicious. Expresso Coffee exceptionally good as reminded us of those we had in Italy,rarely got this outside Italy!

This place was great! The only downside was that there were so many things on the menu that I wanted to try (such as the pesto mayo chicken pasta with wedges). I ended up going for a classic - the full English (pictured) and it was the best I’ve had since moving to the UK. I also want to apologise for my blunt mother, with whom we were dining. She was a bit curt in requesting that our table be wiped down. For context, we had sat down without giving the staff a chance to clean up after the people before us and I moved all the cups away so the staff didn’t know the table wasn’t clean. Thanks again - great food, great vibes.

A really delicious lunch. The jacket potatoes are a generous size with a good amount of filling. Coffee very good. The staff are always really friendly and welcoming.

Had a lovely early lunch on Monday with my sister we both had eggs benidick, they were delicious, our server Emily was brilliant very friendly all in all a great lunch

Had lovely toasted sandwiches and hot chocolate. Had Chicken pesto and chesse, with salad and crisps. Hubby had bacon,cheese,cranberry with chips, looked so good had to swop one sandwich with hubby. Best toasted sandwiches ever had. Best cafe/restaurant in chichester.

Lovely friendly cafe. We went for breakfast and didn’t need to eat again until dinner! Loved the grilled halloumi and sour dough toast on the veggie breakfast. Thanks for making the dog comfortable too.

We have visited Crispin’s Cafe in Chichester on several occasions. We are always greeted when we enter by a happy smiling face , who also remembers that you have visited previously and thanks you for returning. The menu has Gluten Free , Vegan and Vegetarian options which is important for us. The food is always prepared and cooked to order and is extremely good quality and very tasty. The menu has a range of breakfasts , snacks , lunches , afternoon teas , sandwiches , jacket potatoes and salads and a variety of drinks hot and cold. The service is polite and helpful and the whole experience at Crispin’s Cafe couldn’t be better.

Lovely cafe with great choice of good value and tasty food. So nice to get a pot of tea with a pot of hot water too, this is rare these days….. I had a homemade tomato and Basil soup and later sticky toffee pudding both very yummy! Friendly atmosphere, definitely be going again :)

This cafe is a hidden gem in Chichester offering wide choice of food at reasonable prices …something hard to find in the city now. The decor is bright and cheerful with different areas to sit. We love it here!

Went into Chichester for a bit of shopping Sunday morning and popped in here with my wife and two boys for breakfast for the first time. Me and my eldest had the big breakfast and wife and youngest had the smaller version. Was honestly one of the best I've had (and I've had a few 😉), looked and tasted great and the family were impressed too. Great friendly service as well. A real gem of a place and we will definitely return

Really enjoyed my sausage and chutney sandwich with chunky chips. Husband had the coronation chicken with crisps and salad. Both good choices but everything coming out of the kitchen looked good.

Exactly what I needed! Took a colleague here for lunch and it was perfect. Ham eggs and chips, and a Vegetarian breakfast. Very friendly staff, plenty of space (it's bigger than you think) and I'll be going there again 100%.

This is one of our favourite places for lunch/brunch, especially as they are dog-friendly. We have always found the service friendly and quick, and the food always very good.

I always went to Crispins where the staff were so helpful, and happy to serve me with a child’s sandwich as I can’t eat much. Under the new owners the service and attitude is poor. I can no long have a child’s sandwich, no explanation...

A little slow with the service, however if you want great food you have to wait for it. Very clean and well prepared , presented fair. You can always judge a breakfast from the quality of the sausage and bacon. Top class. Thank you.

I was here this morning whilst listening to a French language lesson... as the French would say "le petit-dejeuner anglais c'est tres bien ici" I really recommend the full english, really well made, kneatly presented and locally sourced produce used.. everything on the plate was cooked to perfection.. don't know about anything sold here but the full english is top score.

Lovely hidden cafe, which is actually a good size and loads of seating, it's so hard to find somewhere that does a variety of food cafe style in this day and age! Nice atmosphere, very clean, very friendly staff, been here twice now first time had a chicken wrap which was lovely, second time had a breakfast which was average so I think it depends what you have, will definitely be back though.

We used to love coming to this cafe we’ve given it a try on a few occasions since new ownership. I felt very pressured when ordering as the new owner made me order extras and sides. I have a feeling this was because the cafes never busy anymore which is a shame. I never normally write reviews but something isn’t right as no staff seem to stay anymore. It’s such a shame to see my favourite waitress leave as she really made it for us. Luckily a few girls that used to work at the front are still there but they seem to be pushed to the side. However the food and drinks are still good, however we won’t be regulars anymore due to the changed atmosphere.

What a gem, beautiful inside, vast menu & a wonderful welcome. Popped in with friends for coffee & cake, the coffee milkshake was delicious as was the cake. Definitely no scrimping on portions. Will visit for lunch next time.
