Could not fault the whole eating experience

Had 2 Festive meals over Christmas in a group both very nice staff was brilliant and service was great when the restaurant was very busy Jay and Alex & Haydon in the kitchen and staff serving the food Kate Hayley & liv all made for a great experience would highly recommend can’t wait for our next visit

6 of us had a fabulous evening at The Crown yesterday night. We all had a main course followed by a Quiz. The food was extremely good, my steak cooked to perfection and everyone else happy with their meal. As it was Quiz night the pub was very busy but the staff were brilliant, friendly and cheerful although very rushed and they helped to make a great evening. Well done The Crown and all your staff!!!

We enjoyed a lovely 'twixmas' lunch here with friends. The atmosphere was quaint and cosy and we were welcomed by the friendly staff. The food was very good and well presented and value for money. We will definitely return to test out a Sunday roast. Thank you.

Disappointed visit, with two Christmas parties there was loads of room but little service at the inn.

Tristian couldn’t have been more accommodating he was so lovely and we will be returning not just because the food is incredible but because he was incredible and Lydia was also so lovely such a sweet girl !!

This was our first visit on our way to an event at Jodrell Bank. We arrived a bit early but had a warm welcome on arrival. Its a lovely pub, food was delicious and tasty. Staff very friendly. Will definitely return

Found this place while staying at the cranage spa hotel. What a great place, really good food and very reasonably priced. Different staff the three times we came and they were all excellent.

We had the steak pie Delicious , lovely pastry , nice tender steak full of flavour and delicious gravy The carrots were so tasty Couldn’t fault the food or service would definitely recommend and will visit again in the future

First time coming here and the food and service was amazing! I had a chicken burger and my friend had lasagna which she loved. Tristian was our server and he was super attentive and very helpful as I can be rather picky sometimes :) Thankyou Tristian!

I used to come to The Crown in Goostrey when they hosted Poems & Pints events. In 2024, me and my family came back for Sunday Lunch. The entire establishment has changed so much since we last came, and The Crown is even more wonderful than it was before. The food was absolutely delicious, the staff asked about and fulfilled all dietary requirements, they made sure all our orders were as requested, they provided colouring in for my niece to make sure she was entertained whilst waiting for food…we’ve been to The Crown twice this year now, and the service has been absolutely top-notch, with the food being Olympic-Standard. The atmosphere is tremendous and comfortable, the clientele are friendly, you’ll be spoilt for choice with the menu and The Crown caters to all. Thank you all very much and have a wonderful Christmas!

Came in on Sunday and whilst it was very busy the staff handled it fantastically well. I can see why they run out of roasts so fast as they get very busy and the roasts are literally out of this world! Kate and Hayley were lovely. Will definitely be back. Best pub in the area.

Never had a bad experience here. Tristian is so welcoming and Jason the chef always produces a great meal. The chicken and chorizo kebab and the steak and ale pie were delicious, they arrived quickly and hot. Service is always great, with the entire team being friendly and knowledgeable. Good range of drinks too!

Firstly, we booked a table for 4-30 pm on a Sunday afternoon for my partners 18th twins birthday meal. We got a phone call at 3-45 to say there were only serving roast beef & had no Yorkshire Puddings,(how hard is it to make them) then on arrival taking our orders we were told all roast dinners were finished. So we ordered Steak & Ale pie….. 5 mins later the Steak n Ale pie had run out, so its probably best if you ask what they have got to be honest. After we ordered what basically was left, my partner asked for extra gravy, it arrived just as she finished her meal, & guess what…….they charge you for extra gravy!!!! Hence to say we didn’t pay for the luxury of extra gravy. I would avoid this place and go to the Space Invader pub next door, far better food & a very nice landlord (host). Don’t waste your money!

Booked a table for 5pm, was really looking forward to trying a roast dinner for the first time there but was advised when we got there that there were no roast dinners left at all (looking at the reviews this is a common occurrence) and a number of other mains were also sold out. Decided to stay and had two normal mains. The food was alright, the 30% off mains made it good value but I wouldn't have it again (I had a chicken burger, the batter was quite soft, a buttermilk fried chicken burger should be a bit crunchy if it's battered). Really annoying that they'd sold out of roast dinners, 5pm is not late at all. I don't think I'll be coming back to try again. Overall extremely disappointing.

Tristan looked after us tonight, so pleasant & attentive without mithering too often…..professional but also easy to talk to - a credit to the Crown. Great food & great service!! Lovely welcome on arrival. Sunday lunch 3 roasts was superb! Dog friendly in the pub area. Nice that small 125 ml measures of wine are available. We will be back. ☺️

1st time visit to the Crown and so very pleased we finally made the effort…..Whilst we had a 30% off Main meal voucher we had cycled through Goostrey several times and discussed visiting this appealing pub many times. A lovely setting, a nice cosy pub, lovely food and the locally brewed beer very nice too

Visited the Crown a few times recently and been served by so many lovely staff! Kate and Hayley have been amazing on our recent visits. Both so lovely and nothings ever a hassle! The foods always cooked perfectly. We’ve tried the food from the main and the lunch menu, we were pleasantly surprised by the new Specials they’ve put on for the weekend! Delicious! We’ll be sure to return again soon, definitely recommend a visit!

We have Just had a lovely beef and pork Sunday dinners. Even though it was 5pm, where in some places it means the veg and roasts are dried out, the veg and roasts were all lovely. Plenty of veg and meat. Gravy came in its own pot which is also a plus as you can choose how much and where to have it. Service efficient and pleasant. Will be back. Keep the pork on the menu please!

Friendly welcome. NIce decor. Ordre taken promptly. Food served fresh and hot - excellent (so many places serve luke-warm!) Fish cakes and Arancinni to start were both delicious. Good fish and chips. Proper mushy peas and proper chips. Fish could have been a bit chunkier, but it was fine

A fab local that has tasty food, a great atmosphere with friendly and smiley staff. We were served by the lovely tristion who was attentive, well mannered and helpful when we had questions about the menue. We often come for either dinner or just drinks and everytime its a lovely experience.

Mum and I took a chance on a last minute booking for Sunday Lunch last week. When we arrived we greeted by our waitress Olivia, she seated us took our drinks order and gave us plenty of time to peruse the menu. We chose from the Sunday Roast section. Mum has a garlic intolerance and Olivia showed and explained the menu app which explained which foods to avoid. I had the Beef and Mum had the Turkey option. When the meal was served it was hot and pleasing to the eye. The food was cooked beautifully and tasted amazing, we sent our compliment to the chef. We even had dessert and Apple and Cherry crumble which was gorgeous. Mum and I we very pleased that we had chosen The Crown at Goostrey and will definitely recommend it to all our friends and family.

This was an unplanned visit but we were very glad that we did. The food was really nice and there was a great choice on the menu, catering for all tastes. The kids menu was very good. The Crown was dog friendly too, so the whole family enjoyed it.

The food was good service was very good we were served by Tristian who was brilliant he his a credit to the Crown and we hope he is there for a long time.

Lovely pub with a great atmosphere - I walk my dog here frequently and we are always greeted with fast and friendly service. Staff are always lovely and service is great even during especially busy periods. I cannot eat gluten and the gluten free/NGCI menu is extensive (pretty much all of the dishes off the regular menu can be made gluten free). I have eaten here lots of times and never had a reaction so I know they handle allergens carefully. A personal favourite is the gluten free burger!

A good lunch was had by a party of friends here. Was very quiet and we don’t know why it wasn’t busier. Quite near Jodrell Bank so you could combine this with a visit to the radio telescope etc.

Very friendly waitress, quick service for lunch, food same-old-same-old fried type bar food (not bad, just nothing special). A nice break for lunch and close to the Lowell Telescope :)

We have been going to the crown for 45 years and seen many landlords running an excellent pub! When the weather is nice we like to sit outside and always have a tab We were in there Saturday and had a tab and had our drinks outside We went again on Sunday and was told we had to pay for our drinks by the NEW member of staff What changed overnight! Perhaps the member of staff needs to think about customer service!!!! This guy doesn’t know what customer service is and I believe he’s in the wrong trade

We visited as part of a large group. The food and service was very good; this was not easy as the group arrived at two different times and each couple paid their own bills. The staff coped well and we enjoyed a nice lunch.

I booked a table for 2 at 2pm, we were waiting by the wait to be seated sign for 15 mins before anyone came. We ordered food and drinks immediately as we had seen the menu. After 30 mins we managed to find out why we didn‘t have drinks. Our choice was not available, no one came to tell us or see what else we wanted. My friend selected cloudy lemonade, it was neither lemon flavoured or fizzy. We ordered roast dinner and had to wait over 90 mins for this to arrive. Some of the beef was great some pieces tough as shoe leather. The potatoes were tough and cold, the gravy was cold, the Yorkshire pudding so tough it was inedible, and the green beans and mange tout undercooked. The carrot (singular carrot) was very nice. They definitely need to hire some staff, the place seems to be run by two sweet boys who look like they still have a bed time.

First time we have visited the Crown Inn and we’ll definitely go back. The restaurant had a nice welcoming feel. Our waitress was Kate and she was lovely, polite and made some great recommendations. The food was really tasty. We had Camembert for starters to share, chicken & chorizo kebab (would highly recommend) and lasagna. For dessert we shared the caramel sundae which was yummy!

Me and my wife came into the pub today and had a lovely roast dinner. We had great service from the young servers “Kate” and “Matt” as the little card they handed us said. Would recommend, definitely coming again.

It was my husband's birthday and we got to the Crown before 6.45 on the 8th of May, ordered 2 drinks at the bar and asked the waitress to put them on our tab as we were eating. "Have you booked "was the reply. We said we had not to be told we therefore could not eat as the chef was leaving at 8pm. The restaurant was not even buzy! We have been living in the village for 36 years and have had several big wedding anniversaries at the pub but to be told we could not have a meal at our local was a first. The Space Invader was a gift on that special night!

Just been for lunch. Absolutely delicious, all three courses. Will definitely be going again and would recommend.
