Although the food arrived in good time, it wasn't from the restaurant named on Just Eat. We had a concern that the place wasn't there, went and checked and had turned into an Italian restaurant. When the delivery arrived we asked and were told they had closed 2 months ago and reopened somewhere else with a different name. After they left we discovered 3 items missing from the order, so one of us had to go and find the new restaurant and argue with them before getting the missing dishes. By which time the rest of the food was cold, and we were all pretty annoyed. So never again.

Certainly not the best Curry in the world but for £20pp with a group of 7 (excluding drinks) we had a great meal. We didn't notice any pushy staff, they where a great help in suggesting dishes but nothing was forced. Starting with papadums and condements, followed by lam and chicken starters and a main of 7 curries, salad, naan and a plate of chicken breast and chicken/lam.

We arrived and right from the outset the staff were rude and pushy. We requested tap water and the reply was "we don't do that here". 750ml bottles of Evian were nearly £4! We ordered 3 main meals to share between 4 people along with rice, naan bread, and raita and the waiter tried to tell us it wasn't enough for us and pointed out the £10 minimum per person. I understand their rules but the manner in which it was done was very pushy and rude. The waiter took our order and didn't write anything down. When the food arrived he had mixed up our order, which normally wouldn't have been a problem, but as they were being difficult, I thought they should get it right. We have eaten at MANY Indian restaurants and have never been treated like this!

This is not an Indian cuisine restaurant but Bangladeshi. The dishes are close to Indian but not Indian after all. The interior is below average. There is no atmosphere. Most people who stop in here are looking for Sheesha. The portions are tiny and prices are high. The price for each roti or naan is ridiculous. Naans should be no more than 1 pound. Instead they are 3.50 sterling. Not worth it

Prawn Puri - possible the best i've ever had, light and non greasy with tasty sauce Chicken Rogan - lovely, tasty, lots of easy to eat chicken but best of all lots of fresh tomatoes, no puree or tinned stuff. Utterly enjoyable evening meal, not sure where all the negative reviews are coming from, would love to eat there again.

The waiters are very good at selling their product.... Instead of tab water we very talked into Evian...The food was ok but a bit oily. Sadly they serve by standard only mild dishes. Probably due to the many tourists in the area. The prices were a bit high for the quality. Next time I go someplace else.

I'm unusually easy to please but this was possibly the rudest service I can recall. When I arrived the young waiter greeting me with "yes...?" I asked for a table for one. In the entire restaurant only two tables were occupied. He assigned me right next to those two. In stead of drawing out a chair, he drew away the table for. His attitude was sullen, rude and disrespectful from the first moment. I ordered "Meat vindaloo" which was very tasty indeed. The waiter grunted and mumbled in reply to questions so that I had to keep keep saying "pardon?" to the point of feeling stupid. The waiter also argued with the patrons next to me. They made very simply and very reasonable requests for small variations to the menu, all of which he flatly refused. The restaurant otherwise appeared to be in fine condition. Only the serve was outrageously bad. In all the restaurants I have eve ever been to around the world, this one has the distinction of being the rudest by far. I could not wait to get out of there, and left without a tip, which is something I will rarely do.Ps. When you order your curry, you are informed that rice has to be ordered separately. I frown on such practice. Also what you order is what you get. No garnishings, no colour, no sauces - nothing extra at all.

We were starving so we didn't mind to enter a restaurant that had it menu written in the Comic Sans. Also the menu did include portions suitable for my spouse who has tons of allergies and the prices seemed to be quite alright. As we entered the place and met the gum chewing smileless waitor and saw that there were only two other customers in we had second thoughts but we decided to stay anyway. The seemingly fed up waitor placed us to the second table from the other couple even though the place was otherwise empty. We had about 5 minutes to decide what we were having until the waitor came to take the orders. The waitor harshly tugged the plates before us without saying a word. We didn't notice that the portions did not include rice and as the waitor pointed that out in super quick and mumbling tone it was too unclear for my non-native English ears, he sighded heavily and almost throw me the menu back but did not open the rice section so I misunderstood him second time and felt horribly ashamed of myself even though you would expect that in the city that welcomes huge amounts of tourists the customer servants would be prepared to repeat things time to time (okay probably all the time) since we annoying little tourists do contribute on keeping your businesses going. Anyhow we luckily got our dishes relatively quickly and mine was alright, not too tasty, but okay, and the atmosphere of the place being what it was it was actually nice that the chicken sauce I had chosen included chicken bites the amount you can count on your ten fingers so that I was able to finish quickly. My spouse on the other hand got strange feeling on his mouth tasting the first bite of his garlic chicken and since we decided it would be less horrible to have to contact the ridiculously arrogant waitor any more than you have to than having the anaphylactic shock (not to mention having it in a foreign country), we asked if the portion did contain any nuts, almonds or peas even though they weren't mentioned in the menu. First of all the excuse of a waitor did not bother to ask if he was okay, instead he handed the menu back and showed the ingredient list under the title of my spouse's portion which we of course had already read before making the order. We tried to communicate the unreceptive waitor that we were worried about the funny feeling my spouse had because of his multiple allergies, the waitor's angry response was that my spouse can not feel funny because the portion did not have any of his allergens as we can see from his sauce (he actually took the fork and picked the sauce). He also lectured us of asking about the ingredients before making the order - which we would have done if the problem would have been the ingredient list in the menu that gave us concerns and not the actual portion. My spouse eventually got over the funny feeling and we got through with our meal. The waitor rushed to picking up the plates and stuff as soon as we put down our forks and knives. We asked for check and he naturally didn't ask us if we wanted a separate or mutual one, which was not problem since we were together but assumingly might have been more inconveniencing if our groupe had been bigger. The check seemed okay, we didn't want to look it over too long since we wanted to get out of there us quickly as possible. After reading the other reviews of the place I'm glad to notice that they don't charge anymore some serving fees or something like that. Even though we tried to send the waitor symbolic international hand sign by not tipping him I couldn't get over the outrageous customer service experience all night. The customer service in the Curry Palace (which is at Queensway titled Curry Place) was almost traumatising, my customer service experiences in the notorious Eastern Europe and in my home country where we are presumably not so big on the customer service were nothing compared to this absolutely horrible encounter. _Do not go there, it's not worth the trauma._

In this restaurant we received easily the worst service of any place we ate at in our 2 month trip of Europe. We had just arrived in London and were figuring out the whole 'minimum order' thing. We were travelling on a budget and as Australians travelling in the time where there is such a terrible exchange rate, we couldn't afford to splurge on dinner. We chose to go to this restaurant because it looked relatively budget from the outside, and there was nothing about a minimum charge on the menu out the front. After sitting down, we ordered drinks straight away (foolish of us!), and picked up the menus and saw a little thing saying that were was a £10 minimum per person. This was misleading as the menus at the front of the restaurant conveniently didn't mention that. We would have left but had received our drinks and figured we would probably spend £10 each anyway (it may not seem like a lot, but when your exchange rate is so bad... it is!) When we ordered, we asked for 1 vegetable curry, rice for two and two naan. The waiter informed us that the curries were too small to share, and that we had to order another one. We politely said we weren't feeling very hungry, and just wanted to share, which started an argument of him telling us it was too small, we had to order another and us trying to refuse. It was obvious he just wanted us to spend more, but we knew we would reach the £10 minimum each with our order and drinks anyway, so we didn't see why we couldn't share a curry. We should have walked out at that point, but as we had already ordered drinks we felt uncomfortable leaving (in hind sight, we should have left anyway!)Due to the awkwardness of it all, we ordered another curry so that we would stop being yelled at! The food was fine, nothing to write home about but good enough, but it was the service that was the worst. The waiters try to make you order as much as possible (we heard them doing it to others), we asked for water and of course received a huge £5 bottle of still water. Of course there was a 12.5% service charge as well (service was not worthy of a tip!) We ended up absolutely blowing the budget and hating ourselves for not walking out, because we had such a horrendous night due to the horrible service. I would definitely not recommend this place, service like this shouldn't be acceptable even in London.

I'm currently visiting London with a friend and today, we stopped in at this restaurant to take shelter from the rain. We were greeted quickly, seated quickly, and the waiter gave us plenty of time to explore the menu. We settled on the chicken koram and the garlic chicken, with rice and garlic bread, all of which was delicious. The koram was perfectly sweet and tasted like fresh coconut, while the whole garlic pieces and curried vegetables made the garlic chicken one of the best meals I've ever eaten. As we were eating, our waiter chatted with us about our trip, and Ahmad, (who I believe is the manager), even came over to speak with us. At the end of our meal, he asked if we'd ever had Indian tea before and if we had a few minutes to spare. As we were settling our bill-which was very reasonable, considering the large portions of meat, rice, and bread we were served-Ahmad brought us a pot of cinnamon and cardamom-spiced tea and told us it was on the house. Overall, this meal was the highlight of our day and I have a feeling we'll be back before we leave London next week. Thanks for the fantastic meal, Curry Palace!

Ate here in June 2015. Stopped by here late (11pm) on Friday after seeing a concert in Hyde Park. Ordered 2 appetisers, 2 mains, 1 mushroom rice, 1 nan, 2 chapatis, 1 mango lassi and one pint of beer. It came to over 50 pounds.Had 3 papadoms, to start. They were the deep fried type, but were a bit soft, so not made to order. Wife ordered mixed tandoori grill, she actually spat the lamb kebab out because it tasted so bad. I ordered a king prawn balti, and they were the smallest and toughest kind prawns ever. Sauce was OK, but not special. Rice was very oily. Breads were very good. Wife's lassi was OK, fir finished it. I had a large bottle of cobra, which was cold and good. They seemed very pushy for us to have more drinks, maybe they make a good profit on these. A very poor experience, would never return here. Be aware they include a service fee, so don't get hooked into leaving a tip

The food is (generally) very good, but no longer can that be a saving grace from the surly and utterly abysmal service we have consistently received. These guys could not be more unprofessional if they tried. - The waiters are plain RUDE, there's no other way to say it. Curt, impatient, cheap obnoxious - these guys have the whole show going on.- If you order starters you'll get no more than a teaspoon of tamarind sauce on the plate. On one occasion I dared ask for a bowl of mint sauce - the waiter's response was to point at the small dollop of sauce and retort "you already have sauce." - They will bring your bill immediately after your plates are cleared, even if there are vacant tables in the restaurant. And it's not simply to leave it there for later, they'll be standing by with card machine in hand.- On the last occasion the garlic naan I ordered had a distinctly sour taste. It was as if it had been made differently and lactic acid had been released in the dough. My girlfriend agreed. I questioned this with the waiter who, surly as always, barked back "what did you order?" as if he hadn't even listened to what I was trying to say. A few minutes later another waiter appeared and told me he'd ordered a plain naan for me instead as if to condescendingly suggest I wasn't used to the taste of garlic (since when is garlic sour, you muppet?). When I told him it had nothing to do with the garlic and that it never tasted like this on previous occasions he just stared at me blankly. Of course the second naan was as sour and unpleasant as the first. They still charged me for it even though it was not eaten.- On one weeknight we arrived just after 7pm and were the only people seated outside (inside looked empty too). When I asked if we could sit at a bigger table as we'd be sharing dishes and it would be more comfortable the waiter curtly said "no, other customers will come". Not a single other customer came for the entire time we were there. They can't even handle the most BASIC of service tasks correctly. You're supposed to pick up the plates not brashly dump everything on the plate in front of the customer (such that uneaten sauce would splash) before taking them away. And you know the biggest insult in all this? These jokers actually add a sizable (12%?) service charge to your bill.Never again.

Upon arriving to the restaurant there was no one there, so I stood and waited for 10 minutes until someone showed up. Then, after sitting, I was given a menu and given about 1 minute to look at it until the waiter was barking at me to order and pulling the menu away so he could give it to another table. The portion of butter chicken I was given contained about 4 small pieces of chicken, and at 8.50 GBP was not worth the money at all. I've made better butter chicken at home myself. Disappointing for my first taste of Indian food in a city which is known for its Indian. Wouldn't return.

WE went this restaurant in the evenig. We aseked first , are they open ( the had open sign). They said they are open. We ordered three Stellas. They bring without asking 3 LARGE 0.66 L Stella. There was on couple sitting outside and 2 other game in to eat. Waiter went to couple and told them to leave.. men came upset and took his bier class with him and the went...Waiter came our table, they had taken money from Biers rightaway. He told as , that you have 15 minutes time to drin your bier and go out! I said him , that i asked are they open, and he bring large biers without asking and now he want we go? He said , that you can have more bier , 15 minutes is lot of time to drink... so very arrogant. i assume, that they give food inside to 2 couples and have same strategy. Money , when food is in the table and you have 15 minutes to eat , and then ...please out..

Do not bother wasting your time or money going to Curry Palace. Disgusting service!!! Restaurant was literally empty and yet they squeezed us into a table for two, when I requested he move us to a bigger table, the cheeky waiter tried to argue with me. I pointed out that the restaurant was empty so therfore there should be no problem moving us to a bigger table, after arguing with me he reluctantly moved us to a bigger table. Before we even sat down he was breathing down our necks for us to order, talk about taking the mick. At this stage I wanted to give him a piece of my mind and walk out but my friend told me to calm down. The evening just got worse and to be honest I have not seen such poor customer service in my life. When we ordered the drinks they refused to give a straw, when I asked I was told that they had run out. Honestly how does a restaurant that calls itself a "PALACE" run out of straws. Worst part is the waiters were then discussing this in Bengali calling me fussy and were telling each other to come and tell me that they had no straws...IDIOTS! I am trilinugal and I hate it when people talk about me thinking that I will not understand what they are saying. My friend could see that I was struggling to keep my composure so he went to the restaurant next door and got me a straw. The food was substandard, it looked okay but tasted awful. The Saag Gosh was bland, it was mainly Saag and the Meat seemed non existent. The Fish Bhuna and the Prawn Dupiaza tasted awful, there was no flavour at all. I don't think the chefs ever heard of spice or salt. The Fish Bhuna and the Prawn Dupiaza had to be sent back and was no better the second time round. This dining experience was not even worth a £5 and it definitelyv was not worth the £50 we paid. To make matters worse my feedback aka complaint was totally ignored by the staff. This place is certainly not a PALACE. It is certainly not fit for a princess, it is a total dump. The food certainly is not suitable for human consumption. Not even 2/10 for this crappy restaurant!!! AVOID AVOID!!! THE PEOPLE WHO CLAIM THAT THIS PLACE IS PERFECT ARE SERIOUSLY DELUDED!!!

If you look at the trip advisor reviews, the good reviews come from people who live in countries without a joint cultural history and the locality means that most of the customers would be tourists and would not necessarily know what they are eating. As a Brit raised in the midlands , I have eaten very many curries and a few bad curries but this was appalling. Greasy, grey, tasteless. Absolutely awful. Your chef should be ashamed of himself.

My friend and I fancied an Indian - there is a choice of two herein close proximity. We chose this one, and the title sums it up. I have read other reviews, and although mine will be broadly negative, none of the excesses reported by others happened to us. Strangely, I had trouble locating this restaurant on Trip Advisor. Due to the fact that the card which I kept from the restaurant has a slightly different name on it - Curry Place. Also, the ( active ) website is also listed as Curry Place. Such details raise suspicions - has there been a slight name / management change? To the review. The décor is up to date, clean lines, nicely done, clean. We were in relatively early, only us and 3 or 4 other tables occupied. Service was ok, but there was no chat or interaction with the staff. They did try to push a few extras but gave up when we said we were not interested, Started with poppadoms and chutneys as all Indian meals should. Quite acceptable. Not too long a wait for the mains. Mine was ok I suppose, decent portion, but oh so bland. My friend commented the same and was opined that his was far too greasy. Certainly lacking in spices. Keeping the cost down? Not really worth the money. Bill was correct. Not very good value for the price.Needs to raise it's game. Would eat here again IF everywhere else closed. Otherwise, NO. Cannot recommend it to other travellers. When next in the area I shall try the one just down the road.

I thought I'd give this place a try and regretted it. It is a really poor excuse for an Indian restaurant, the cooking is lazy and the flavours are nothing like they should be. I have the mixed starter plate which was small and poorly cooked. I then had a biriyani which should have been aromatic and subtle but was neither. It was like a poor fried rice with a horrible sauce and did not not work. The service was fine but the food was a major disappointment and there are much better places to eat nearby. I will never come back and eat here as there are better places nearby.

My sister and I ate here on a recent visit to London. We wanted a quick bite and this restaurant was quite close to the flat we rented. The food was okay but the wait staff seems a bit put off and not very friendly. We ordered Saag Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala, Rice and Naan. The Chicken Tikka Masala was quite sweet and had a definite coconut taste which I was not accustomed to. The Saag Paneer was okay but not very flavorful. The food was just okay overall, but I was expecting more since I heard that Indian Food in London was amazing (I should have done my research).

We went to Curry Palace on the spur of the moment for a meal and were quite happy to be seated as soon as we went inside (expected a bit of a wait with it being a Saturday night). The restaurant was quite busy which was a good sign and our drinks order was taken quickly while we got a chance to browse the menu. The menu is quite large and there's a good range of curries on offer. A bit surprised that the main dish doesn't include at least plain rice but the prices weren't that bad for the portions that we got. We got a main dish each, rice each, and two other sides to share and it was delicious. The chicken bhuna I got was very spicy - just the way I like it! The rice was also nice and fluffy and the naan was tasty too. The only thing was that their drinks came in smaller bottles for a higher price. Still, the size of drink I got was enough to do me. Waiters were friendly and attentive too. All in all, a very nice meal.

walking around our hotel neighborhood for dinner and I would have been much better off checking the reviews before I ventured out. This restaurant looked inviting from the street. Don't judge a book by its cover. While the sauces were flavorful, the variety of meats we both ate were all incredibly dry. I actually cut up my chicken bites very small so they could soak up more sauce. I had thought to add naan, but did not realize until we got our meal that one also had to order rice. As the dour waiter could be heard coughing in the back of the room, we really didn't want to call him back to the table, so just kind of got thru it quickly. It was a pretty unsatisfactory meal from beginning to end. Best to keep looking for Indian cuisine in this neighborhood.

I don't appreciate being shown how to eat poppadoms or having the waiter handle it. I didn't really like them automatically bringing large without asking and they included a service charge without asking. Other customers appeared to be getting hassle from them trying to force unwanted items on people and they hung outside quite creepily waiting for customers They wouldn't do me a separate receipt, the only saving grace was that the food was alright, damn expensive though.

Went there with a friend from abroad who was clearly a tourist. It was rather empty, and the waiters desperately tried to sell us their naan bread, which we didn't really order but they brought anyway. When the bill came, my friend paid by credit card. It was obvious to me from the bill that the service charge (i.e. the tip) was already included in the bill (at a rate of 10%), but naively my friend asked whether the tip was included and guess what? The waiter responded that it wasn't! Now in my book a tip is something that is left to the guest (and I quite happily tip waiters, particularly if they're friendly, which is not a given in London). To include the tip in the bill is already quite cheeky. To then ask for a separate tip is taking the mickey. Naturally I made this quite clear and we left having paid the (included) service charge but no extra tip. Before I forget - the food was alright, but nothing exceptional.

The food is ok. It's just too bad that the service does not give you a welcoming feeling. Is it because rice, naan etc all has to be ordered separately, at rather steep prices? Is it the lack of smiles? Is it the fact you are practically alone when you eat here? I do not know. The only thing that has been warming us was the curry, but we'll not recommend this to anyone looking for a nice Indian restaurant in London.BTW the name of this place is Curry Place (www.curryplaceuk.com), not Curry Palace

Well, traveling to England and not having Indian food is a must. Our group decided Indian for dinner and this was a close one as we walk down Queensway. The restaurant is narrow but good length. Deco to create an environment was just average since it did not give me a feeling that I am in a fine dining restaurant. The beer I had was Cobra and it taste like Bud light. The waiter did mot give us a chance to look at the menu and quickly recommend the dinner for 4 options (multiply by 2 for 9 people). The food served was decent, not as spicy as I would like but that is because the group does not want spicy food. They did gave me a side dish of chili which was ok. The dish came out was in very small portions, not enough for 4. The chicken was very dry, and mist dish had no meat just sauces/curry. My experience with Indian food in America was much better than this and a lot more food. In my opinion, this is not worth the price and food quality is not as good as Marsala fast food in Richardson, TX.

If you can ignore him as we did he will go away eventually. If you've had a few beers it would be a funny place to have a laugh eating as there's some decent entertainment value accompanying the awkwardness. Food is slightly overpriced but is tasty.
