Cut & Craft in Leeds

I made a booking to the restaurant, arrived and the receptionist advised she would go get the table ready. Upon return and retrieving menus she asked for my partner to remove his hat to be able to enter the restaurant. No where does it state when booking about dress code etc. Whether someone is wearing a hat it doesn't mean they are a criminal and that is how she made him feel.

A Cut above the rest for Brunch? Sadly not. Although the service was very attentive and the venue is rather fabulous, unfortunately the Brunch was not that impressive. I wanted to see cocktails recommended with brunch. Not just the standard drinks menu. I wanted a kid’s brunch menu, not just their generic lunch/dinner kids menu. I ordered some scrambled eggs off menu for the toddler in the end. And I definitely make better eggs than the overcooked ones that he was served with an unbuttered slice of sourdough toast. I had the steak and eggs which came with your standard “out of a frozen packet” hash browns. Give me something a bit more special, how about a potato rösti or even just a home made hash brown if I’m paying that much for it? The orange juice clearly being just a standard from concentrate juice was the final thing that made this brunch pretty average.

This was my first time ever at Cut & Craft and I am so glad I made the visit … this place is a gem, such a great place , from attentive staff (big shout out to Muhammed who looked after our table and he was such a pleasure to meet) the food was one of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time …. And the ambience was vibrant and relaxing at the same time … the general manager Cameron ensured our overall experience was one that was really exceptional and nowadays that’s a rarity … I’ll certainly return to Leeds and visit then one in York with my family , thank you Cut & Craft Leeds , çok güzel 👍🏼x

Absolutely superb service and meal.

The service was excellent. On the whole, the food was a good standard. I had the Sole. Luckily, I stopped it being covered in accompanying spicy sauce, which would have spoilt this delicate tasting fish. Call me old-fashioned, but light butter lemon sauce with capers would have been perfect! I will go back again.

Came here before Christmas Day. They had plenty of GF selections, though we settled for a sharing steak. 10/10 would recommend.

Outstanding place we are lucky to have to have such an amazing place in our city. I can't get over the beautiful building and how nice it is that it has been so beautifully restored. Came at lunch time today, the service was brilliant! Very attentive and professional yet friendly staff. The lady on the door with brown hair hosting who showed us to our table was super friendly. The food is amazing- I knew this place is good as I've heard a lot of good things about it from a few people. But it exceeded my expectations. The younger staff on the door on the way out seemed to be chatting amongst themselves and I didn't get a bye but that is me being ridiculously picky. Thankyou and can't wait to come back!

I went to Cut & Craft with my family over the weekend and had a fantastic time. The steak was amazing and everything was brought to the table in good time despite being busy. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a nice meal in Leeds!

A lot of reviews have praised the atmosphere, but it was really thumping music - felt I was in a night club. Ordered steak, very average, bit chewy. Girlfriend ordered vegan was very dry and chewy and couldn’t eat it. Rest of meal average. Would not go again.

What a fantastic experience today at Cut & Craft Leeds. We opted for the Sunday lunch share for 2. Wow!! The food was delicious & cooked to perfection and enough to feed 4 people. AWFUL SERVICE. To start off we were made to wait for 30+ minutes stood by the bar when we arrived on time for our booking, a very tactical way to get people to spend more. After querying when our table would be ready we eventually got taken to our seats. Where we waited another 15 minutes for a drink order, and another 20 to order food. We had been in the venue over an hour before we ordered food. Once ordered we proceeded to sit and wait more for the food to arrive. Everyone around us received their food, despite arriving well over 40 minutes after us. After asking once again where our food was as we had now been in the venue over an hour an a half, it suddenly turned up. One of us was then missing a meat from the trio of meats. Otherwise we cannot fault the food, it was delicious. While eating the presumable manager came over to apologise, she said she would be back to sort this once we’ve finished. We then waited easily another 20-30 minutes for the plates to be taken once finished whilst multiple staff members walked past and saw us. The lady who had previously said she’d be back saw us finished and blatantly ignored us multiple times. Clearly avoiding giving any sort of compensation for the horrific service. Then to top it off they have the nerve to charge £20 service charge! Real shame as we had been looking forward to this special birthday treat, shocking service don’t waste your money.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Cut and Craft in Leeds, and it was a fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived, the service stood out. The staff greeted us warmly and were attentive without being intrusive. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu, offering helpful recommendations. The atmosphere was cozy and stylish. The food was the real highlight. Every course was absolutely exceptional. Overall, The Cut and Craft exceeded my expectations in every way. Unfortunately I had oysters and got food poisoning

Table was booked for 9:15 rang and explained would be running a couple of mins late due to a taxi issue. They explained over the phone it was fine and they'd push it back slightly and that if we were to arrive earlier we could be seated on arrival. When arriving (we ended up being earlier than original time ) we were sat in the bar area where we then had to wait 40 mins not only This after being seated no one came to take a drinks order for around 10 mins. Whilst we watched other bookings being seated before us that were arriving after us and believe that there bookings were for 9:30/9:45 after speaking to one of them in the bathroom. Food was okay however have had better from the York one asked for steak medium rare and it ended up being medium. The truffle fries were okay but they were over done. I've ate at the York venue and everything was beyond expectations so l was a little disappointed at our experience especially when it was our anniversary and that wasn't even acknowledged even though it was noted on the booking. When finally asking for the bill. Our bill came out and we had an additional £100 worth of food and drinks on our bill which our server did end up taking off but if this was not checked we'd of been paying a bill that wasn't ours and the bill should of been checked before being given to us.

The food was average. Nothing wrong with it but I think for that price you’d expect something nicer. Waited quite long time for our drinks but I only had a non alcoholic drink so can’t comment on drinks too much. However atmosphere and the decor was absolutely amazing! So very mixed feelings in overall.

What an atmosphere and cosy place.

Food brilliant, but let down by service and adding a *lot* of drinks to our bill that were not ours. Since this happening, I’ve also come across friends who said this happened to them here too. Worth being critical of your bill, especially if you’re in larger groups.

Been to cut and craft on a number occasions in Leeds and you just can’t beat it! The service is always exceptional! I went for a Christmas decorating class and the host Charlotte was honestly so nice! I will definitely be returning to do another workshop! The breakfast you get with this is also amazing didn’t realise they did a brunch menu till now!

If enjoy a Sunday roast then you will not find better for close to this price! I've often spent more and still been left hungry afterwards, gaucho for example is similar in price but your given a 3rd of the food, unless you pay £38 PP for unlimited which this platter wouldn't leave you wanting more anyways, definitely not skimping on the meat either and filling you with cheaper items. The qaulity and taste has been amazing all 3 times and I've not waited longer than 10 mins to recieve my food each time! Staff are polite and friendly, quite impressed how efficient they are with it always being so busy. Best I've found and eat out alot.

Expensive but also faultless! Nice treat for me and the missus. Every course of food was awesome, staff are aware and pleasant. Just finished my pint while waiting to be seated and the waitress was straight over asking if I wanted another which doesn't sound amazing but when you know how busy it is it was. Look forward to the next visit

We where staying York and choose to try the restaurant without a booking. The welcome was warm and set the atmosphere for our experience. Peter our waiter was very professional, paid great attention to us whilst remaining courteous and good conversation. Food was very good only slight dilemma was my steak overcooked but still delicious.

Been here a few times now love it !

Made us wait 30 minutes past our reservation time at 6:30 because the table they wanted to give us was still occupied. Quite ridiculous that they would rather us wait than ask the previous customers to finish. Apology was half hearted and excuse was its a busy night... a professional, high end restaurant wouldn't need to use this excuse and there offer of bread as an apology is laughable. Furthermore we had to wait in an awkward area of the bar with a wheelchair user, which is far from ideal. Surely they could have found us a better spot to wait? The food was fine but not particularly special and service after was OK but rushed. They started bringing starters when we were still eating the apology bread. Overall a disappointing visit and not worth it.

Celebrated birthday here last night. The place is stunning to look at. We were loving the food. I am pescatarian so I had plenty of options. The mushroom starter was one of the best foods I have ever eaten. The service was incredible, everyone from waiter to glass collector was so attentive. We can't wait to go again !

I attended here on the 6/11/24 for a celebration meal with my partner and friends. Upon arrival, Once they finished looking me up and down, they said "there is a dress code here". I was dressed in my nice casual wear as it was a normal, quite Wednesday night. I have dressed like this numerous times while eating here and there has never been an issue. To say I feel judged is an understatement and It is fair to say I will not be attending here ever again.

Absolutely superb! Came for a quiet celebration meal and was not disappointed. Our server (Charlotte) was very attentive. The food was excellent (steak was little on the rare side of medium rare but that's how I like it). Pudding was nice and light after a very hearty meal. The cocktails were all delicious - excellent recommendation from Charlotte. We will be back!

First time the family had been and it was excellent from the minute you walked in the door.the range of meals we had were tip top across the board,,prices well good,, relatively busy due to us eating at 18.30 but nothing that stopped us having great food and fab service 👍👍

First visit. As special occasion had requested and was recommended to have table upstairs..sadly we were denied this even though when i went to the loo upstairs lots of tables free. Service was good and waiter who forgot water was very apologetic. Venue atmosphere singer all great. We had the sharing roast all lovely very tasty..fab yorkshire pudding and roasties. Beef bit over could have been bit rarer. GET STUFFING ..crackling AND APPLE SAUCE for a 5 star.

The place & atmosphere were fantastic. The food however, is a total let down, which is a shame. Starter scallop quality no good, braised beef so tough, taste wise on other food below expectation.

Popped in to Cut and Craft for drinks during a visit to Leeds. Very welcoming staff and very attentive too. Managed to get seats at the bar and struck up a conversation with David, their head bartender & mixology specialist. Although the cocktail menu was very good, both my wife and I asked if he would go 'off piste and make us cocktails of our choosing. Once he confirmed he had the necessary ingredients, he duly obliged. I always think it's a good sign of a quality mixologist when they obviously know their stuff and don't ask, "What's that?" or "What goes in it?". He even recommended his own individual 'take' on these cocktails, which, again, for me, is a very good sign. The cocktails were prepared with care and skill and tasted delicious. Reasonabley priced too! lt's not our first visit to Cut and Craft and definitely won't be the last! Thanks David! Top man! 😋👌🍸🍹🥃 p.s. Haven't given ratings for food as we only had drinks, but what we saw did look nice!

The building is a big selling point. Very well finished and very comfortable. Gave 5 stars for food but there was some room for improvement. Steak was excellent though. Very attentive service. Would recommend and return.

My friend and I popped in for a pre-dinner glass of fizz and sat at the bar. And, as my friend had a broken foot, they insisted on making her a comfortable as possible. I paid for the drinks with a flick of my watch and didn’t look at the price. Totally my fault!🙈 I later saw that I’d been charged £48, instead of £18. When I rang, Lana was so helpful and liaised with the bar manager - who actually remember us - and he agreed to refund the overpayment. I’m honestly over the moon as I had no proof. Cannot thank them enough😍 Will definitely return and recommend to anyone who’ll listen🤣

Our first time here and will definitely be going back. Had Sunday roast dinner, food excellent! Service great and well everything.

Came here for a second time for a friend's birthday and it's still as pretty. It's spacious and well decorated. The main dishes are usually quite good but had the macaroni cheese as a side which was not good. That day we had the craft burger which was delicious and they honestly do fries really well. Our waitress, Carissa, was super friendly and very helpful. It's on the pricier side but it's nice for special occasions.

This resturant is top notch from the moment you have the door opened upon entry, staff kindly take your coat and show you to your table. The decor is unique reminds me of a repurposed old library with a modern update yet has a 40s kind of vibe to it, it's large dome rotunda above the middle of the circular bar is spectacular. It's a very cosy atmosphere with small to larger booth and chair seating ,dim lighting and it's one D.J on a Friday night. The menu is very good not too large of a selection to get confused with, a great culinary selection makes the menu easy to pick any of the fantastic dishes and sides to accompany your main , starters and desserts are very good too.

Such a gorgeous restaurant tucked away in Leeds. The service from start to finish is fantastic - so attentive and thoughtful. The wonderful staff made my birthday extra special by arranging a bouquet of flowers to be on our table when we arrived, courtesy of my husband! Sarah our waitress in particular was fab. Travelled to England from the Netherlands- were advised to visit Cut&Craft, absolutely worth every money. Stunning atmosphere, amazing people, quick service. Delicious cocktails. Stake was great, but lasagne a bit dissapointed. Overall amazing place.

Wow! What a stunning interior, the place is beautiful and there's a great atmosphere in the restaurant. I'd heard a great deal about the restaurant before making our 1st trip. We walked in off the street around 6pm with no booking. Escorted upstairs to an empty floor, we were a bit dubois that we may have a bit of a quiet one?! It was Wednesday evening after all, but no.....within 60 mins the place was heaving. Our service was excellent, very attentive and professional. I did expect a slightly larger menu choice but this is certainly not a negative against that. However, I'm convinced I fell on a bad day. My rib eye was pretty bad, extremely sinuey and very very chewy, definitely a poor cut. The rest of the meal was great and we would go again but I'd expect the chef to inspect the quality of steaks before cooking. I probably only ended up eating half of my rib eye due to it being non edible. Don't let this put anyone off, I'm sure it's a 1 off as the restaurant does have an avid following!

The second time we have dined here and absolutely love it! The service is impeccable! Extremely attentive, and friendly. The food is absolutely beautiful. The fillet is always cooked to perfection, and the side dishes are some of the best we’ve had when eating steak. We can’t wait to return again in the near future!

Epic meal, great service and venue

my husband enjoyed most of his 2 course lunch, but did find the steak difficult to chew. Prawn cocktail had far too much paprika and old lettuce, I couldn't eat. The gnocchi chicken bake had a lovely sauce and tasty chicken but the gnocchi was overcooked, never had garlic bread that was so doughy and lacking butter, even the serrated edge knife couldn't cut through it. Really disappointing outing for us, seems it is a style over substance venue or we were just unlucky. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Had a spectacular meal at the cut and craft leeds last night. My server Serena was really lovely and super helpful and attentive to me and my parents during our meal and the steak was unreal. To top it off the atmosphere of the restaurant was amazing and overall great experience. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a meal out in Leeds.

It was our anniversary and first visit to Cut and Craft in Leeds. We have been many times in York and food was always top notch so the expectations were high. The staff in C&C Leeds made us feel welcomed and went above and beyond to make our experience special. Starting with lovely best wishes on our special day, through amazingly prepared classics like grilled goat cheese and flat iron steaks the whole evening was a total success. Waiters were very helpful with everything and take care of us through and through. Location and the decor is also great. To our surprise we have received free desert with complements and again best wishes on our anniversary. Thank you so much all who made our night so amazing! No need to add that we will be visiting you very soon :)

First time at cut and craft last night (10th September) we had got married in the afternoon and decided we would eat here. We hadn't tried it before but sooo glad we chose this place. Everything was spot on.. we even got a complimentary bottle of fizz!! Highly recommended... Thank you!!!

Over cooked steak! Asked for med rare came well-done!! Table next to us had issues with steak too. Rushed throughout our meal. Took drinks order on arrival, drinks only appeared once starters were eaten, and even then, my husband's cola was missing and we had to ask for it!! Staff although pleasant seemed like they'd rather be elsewhere. We left very disappointed, especially as this was an anniversary dinner, and we have previous received beautiful food and exceptional service.

Travelled up from Liverpool to surprise my daughter for her birthday. Food and service was excellent, waiter who looked after us was also from Luverpool and was very friendly. Also treated to a bit of history about the musician who played in the resident band who then joined the band to play and go down on the Titanic

Our evening was overall fairly disappointing considering the price point. Having been to restaurants on a similar tier such as The Ivy, I expected a certain level of service, quality and atmosphere. When we arrived, we were already a few minutes late for our table, but were informed it wasn’t ready yet and was being ‘wiped’ - we were directed to the bar area where no one came over to us to offer us a drink while we waited. We were then walked to a table only a few feet away from the bar which had been ready the whole time so we weren’t sure why we had to wait at all. The table was upstairs in the bar, not in the main restaurant. The atmosphere was entirely different - not the chic low lighting experience you get downstairs. This table was also NOT a restaurant table. It was a bar table, very small and round - we asked the waiter if we would be able to fit the Sunday roast sharer on it and he said yes, and that we couldn’t move tables as the main restaurant downstairs was full. A lady came over to take our drinks order, we ordered a bottle of Rose wine. We waited around 15 minutes for this, to then be informed that there wasn’t any of that wine left so we ordered a different one. We ordered our food, the beef came out overdone the first time so had to go back to the kitchen. The sharing board was too big for the table in the end so eating our food wasn’t comfortable or easy. However, when our food did come out it was absolutely delicious - just such a shame it wasn’t right the first time. As the dinner was a celebration for my boyfriend’s new job, we wanted to go somewhere that felt special - hence why we chose The Cut and Craft. Our dinner last night didn’t feel special, we were treated really like an inconvenience the whole evening. The lady that dealt with our complaint at the end was lovely and offered us free drinks and a dessert, but overall for the price point of paying over £100 for a Sunday dinner for 2 people is FAR too expensive to mess up such simple things. They overbooked the restaurant meaning we were squeezed onto a teeny table. People sat near us were complaining about the same things too. Such a shame as I’ve heard such brilliant reviews but we were unfortunately let down throughout our evening.

Had such an amazing night. Our server Serena looked after us and made sure that we were ok. Rebecca the manager, went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed ourselves and enjoyed our food. There was an issue with the way 1 steak was cooked but Rebecca made sure that it came the way we wanted it and I really appreciated all her patience! The mussels were to die for, I will definitely order those and recommend those to anyone who likes seafood! Overall the food was excellent and the cocktails were very impressive. I will definitely be returning. Thank you!

I was impressed by the amazing atmosphere and decoration. However, I was disappointed with the coffee, as it didn't meet my expectations. The Eggs Benedict were decent, but I was surprised that bread wasn't served with the scrambled eggs and omelet. When we requested bread, they brought us two slices of toast and added an extra charge for them.

Best food I've had in a while in Leeds.my now favourite restaurant. My only issue is that we made a booking but still had to wait a while for our table.

Your Champagne bottomless brunch was an absolute delight and far better than we expected it to be. The entertainment from the gorgeous ladies and music from the wonderful sax player and DJ was perfect. The only flaw was upon arrival, 10 minutes early for our booking we had to wait around bar due to tables not being ready and then filtering people rather slowly to their tables. I would especially like to give a mention to Ellen, who i do believe is assist manager. Attentive, professional and made sure our glasses were always topped up. A lovely member of staff and clearly leading from the front. Will definitely be coming back again

I visited The Cut & Craft with my wife, she'd visited before and thought it'd be a nice treat for us to dine here. We hadn't made a booking but we were able to be seated immediately despite being quite busy which was really nice. The stuff were very friendly and the atmosphere was great. We were seated upstairs and the building was absolutely stunning inside. I loved the glass dome in particular. The food was to die for, I had the burger and it just melted in my mouth, as soon who's eaten hundreds of burgers, this by far is one of the best! The prices were pretty good too given how lovely the experience was, overall would love to visit again.

Positives, the rib eye steak was delicious, melt in the mouth goodness. But so it should be at a steak restaurant. The building is fantastic, I was honestly gob smacked by how good it looked. The interior designer who did it needs a pat on the back, and a cut of the profits of "cut and craft reed diffusers" sold at the front desk, I kid you not. While my steak and chips were good, other starters left something to be desired, my first round of tenderstem brocoli was cold, my second attempt not tender, I didn't attempt a round 3. Service was slow, everyone seemed to have given up on Sunday night. Drinks ordered turned up 20 minutes later and made wrong, I'm fairly sure my desert was wrong, but it would have melted by the time anyone came to check. Lovely expensive steak, in a lovely expensive building, that you'll definitely have time to admire

I took my niece to have some fancy cocktails and we had a great time. The cocktails were lovely and very nicely presented and the service was friendly and professional.

Went to this restaurant for a dinner with my friend and we were very excited to visit as I was recommended this place by a few people. Beautiful interior and a lovely atmosphere for sure! Overall the food was high quality and peppercorn sauce was delicious, however the steaks were just not cooked correctly. We ordered two medium-rare fillet steaks and one of those was medium or perhaps even medium-well done. The second one also wasn’t medium-rare but not as cooked as the other one. The staff were very accommodating and offered to change it and even got us some complimentary drinks while we waited, which was very nice of them. Although we enjoyed the quality of the new steaks, but even the second time it was far from medium-rare, I would say it wasn’t even rare, it was closer to blue. Please see for yourself (pictures attached) and let me know if you don’t think I’m right, but to me that was mooing a few seconds ago🙈 We decided not to send it back again as at this point we actually wanted to enjoy the dinner, and it was a good quality steak overall, but I would expect a steak restaurant to get these details right from the first time.

SO FRIENDLY! and the food is great too. Well located just outside of the Victorian Quarter… the outside seating ara is great to watch the world go by.

Exceptional venue matched by the food and the service

This was my first visit to the cut and craft Leeds i have visited the one in York a few time and loved York. The Leeds one did not disappoint at all was very nice the inside is very up market and posh which is what we wanted for our special occasion, The food was amazing and so was the service. My only pit was the kids menu we went at lunch time with our boy who loves the side dish of Yorkshire pudding gravy and roast potatoes, which he as when we visit York and was looking forward to this hear but sadly this was not on the menu. Lucky for us the chips and gray came to the rescue. The adults in our party enjoyed the meals and as expected. the whole experience is very good. I even had to buy one of the beer packs to take home as i love the big beer glasses you have.

Lovely lovely food. Really enjoyed everything we had. Especially as a Mac & Cheese fan.
