Very Glam I eat at the restaurant.

Met some friends last Thursday evening for a meal, Awesome ambience, Great food and Brilliant staff. One of our few 'GoTo' restaurants in London, never fails and always exceeds expectations- once again Well done team DST!

Cozy and chic ambience. The food was good but not great.

I visited this restaurant because I wanted to experience the classical atmosphere typical of London, and also because it was the restaurant where Meghan and Meghan Markle had their first date. I visited around 11:30 on Sunday, but they said they still had breakfast available, so I ordered a traditional breakfast plate and waffles. Both were delicious, but the way they were presented and the contents were rather classic, for better or for worse, so if you're used to restaurants that focus on the latest trends in appearance, you might be a little disappointed. The atmosphere is perfect for people who value atmosphere, so I think they will be satisfied and have a fun time😌❤️

Went for a generic Sunday brunch. Entry staff were fine. Serving staff were pretty shoddy. It took a good 5 minutes for anyone to approach an offer me a coffee once seated and the poor service continued. Highlighted by me eventually having to get up from my table to order. It didn't work, as I figured it wouldn't, but it did then lead to a waiter coming by to do their job. And the place was pretty empty. It's a weird one - being sat down, receiving service at a certain level, but also being able to see the same waiter / waitress give other tables more attention. Comparison is the thief of joy, but it's one of those situations where we both started to get paranoid that we'd offended the team somewhere. Maybe it's the post Christmas lull, but I wasn't overly impressed. And when booking my friend put it was a "birthday" event - this is the level of service we got when they believed it was a special occasion. There was no "was everything ok with your meal?" which was a tad disappointing, though I suspect the team knew they didn't give a fig. And there was a service charge, which was paid mostly as a "I won't be coming back" fee. Two stars are for the food, which was decent, and the location.

We had a wonderful time, the service was great, the food (fish and chips) was very good. The ambience is buzzy and very friendly. I would highly recommend Dean Street Townhouse for a great lunch or dinner. I would like to give a special mention the lovely Natcha. She is so efficient and always with a smile.

During our visit to London, we wanted to try Fish and Chips and got a recommendation to check out this restaurant. The location is fantastic, and the space is so beautifully designed that you'd want to stay there forever. The service was top, everyone was super friendly, and it’s clear they know what they’re doing. The food was exactly what we were hoping for, absolutely delicious and highly recommended. They also serve a good selection of wines by the glass, so we had the perfect drink to go with our meal. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but it’s totally worth it for the experience.

I had the full English breakfast it was really good and the staff were very good

Great venue, wonderful staff and atmosphere. New 14.5% service charge a total disgrace, nothing can justify 14.5% to hand a drink across the bar.

Simplemente pensé que las opciones de menú no eran tan grandes (tenía una hamburguesa como nada más atrajo) y un fallo: Entendí que es un requisito legal publicar precios pero a pesar de las extensas búsquedas ningún menú en la web venía con precios. Esto necesita corregirse para que la gente sepa qué esperar.

Great service, food and drinks - highly recommended.

Always a warm and friendly atmosphere with great service. Food is always excellent although the menu is quite limited if you are a regular visitor.

We were seated earlier which was great. Starters were a winner but the roast chicken main was really dire.. bland.. cooked well but flavourless.. the roasties saved the dish… the other two main dishes were also rather average hence the score. We were hoping for ‘delicious’ food and that was not what we got. Also had to chase the waiter to refill our bubbles twice - it was busy… but still… for the price paid per head - a bit more attention would have been appreciated.. ..

Possibly my favourite bar/restaurant in London. We had late night drinks after the theatre and as always, the staff were attentive and pleasant, the whole place is just beautifully atmospheric. Can’t wait to visit again.

We were placed on a low table so near the entrance door that we were cold. A constant draught and disturbance. Food was spoiled by being served on cold plates and was tepid on arrival. Table position in draught by door compounded problem. We left food that we would have eaten and enjoyed had it been hot, which it should have been for the price. Satisfactory service altho Service Charge added to bill is way too steep at 14.5%. In this case, £29 service charge for a lunch that included tepid roast chicken and reheated but tepid roast potatoes served on cold plates. Why should diners be put in the position of having to request it be reduced or removed? Service tip should be at the discretion of the diner. Hurried from table at 1400 as required for another booking. How would this have worked if we'd taken the pudding and tea / coffee options offered?

I love the Dean Street Townhouse, its stylish, comfortable and excellent quality. I always use it as my go to place to take my loved ones for a treat.

Food standards have slipped slightly but still a very good atmosphere

Dean Street Townhouse is like a restaurant you’d read about in a 1920’s novel. It’s a delight from start to finish. Quite my favourite restaurant in London. Try the Twice-baked smoked haddock souffle!

The food was great, but not what we expected. We made the reservation for tea, which was advertised online (both on their direct website and on Open Table). However, the restaurant does not do afternoon tea in the month of December. I only found that out once I got there. The food and atmosphere was good, but I would’ve liked to know that tea was not available. That is something that should be made clear when booking a reservation.

My partner and I very much enjoyed our Sunday roast. The staff were incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, efficient and helpful. The food was lovely and the Portuguese wine we chose was outstanding. The chocolate and caramel tart to finish was the icing on the cake.

We had a great lunch today. We both had steak tartare, followed by roast beef and all the trimmings. Good gravy and very tasty beef. We then had apple crumble to share. All very good.Great Atmosphere and very good staff.They were attentive and friendly.

Pretty damn good. Enjoyable lunch for 5 of us. Food was OK but not particularly stand out. Cocktails were average. Service was hit and miss. But it was good when we got our assigned server. just missing a level for the price. There's other places to go and waste your money.

Service and ambience is really good, but the noise level is unbearable. You need to yell across the table due to the poor acoustics.

Great buzzy place...starter of souffle and rhubarb pie dessert was greart, mains of monkfish not as much. Overall though, great service and ambience and will visit again!

We’ve eaten here many times but yesterday was extremely disappointing. Mainly the service, with forgotten drinks, they didn’t know which burger was which, leaning across the table to serve a plate when there was plenty of room next to me. I could go on. Needless to say we opted to remove the optional service charge. When the manager eventually came over as she realised we weren’t happy she wasn’t bothered in the slightest. Shame on you, perhaps too complacent..!!

Love this place, but on this occasion it wasn’t the best. Limited options on the menu, a number of options were unavailable. I had fish and chips, batter a bit soggy. Service was also slower than usual, plates not cleared for a long time and I only after being asked. Based on many past experiences this was just not the usual standard

Overall our meals were very good. My friend enjoyed the duck, my salmon was nicely done.

This is my second visit. Everything is wonderful. Go.

Have been to The Townhouse, a number of times, does not disappoint, food, service, ambience all good, table gets a bit crowded with plates & bowls when having a roast !

Excellent service in a stylish classy environment. The menu is possibly a little limited but the quality and presentation is good. We were sat in a quieter area which suited us well but it was very hot right next to the open fire and my husband and son found the low child height tables very uncomfortable and awkward for eating - probably fine if just drinking/ lounging.

I love the clubby relaxed feel of this place, so it easily wins 5 stars for ambience. The service is great - typical top end London chic. But the surprise is the food. The menu doesn’t look exciting but the finished product certainly is. From the chicken salad stater through the pork belly mash with black pudding mash to the way better then normal cheese board, it was a perfect place to work through a few excellent bottles of wine whilst putting the world to rights!

Dean St has a vibe for everyone. From an exuberant bar scene to deliciously and meticulously prepared food, it’s one of my go-tos in the Soho/West End. Elevated “pub” appetizers like sausage roll or welsh rarebit take on a new dimension, but it’s the mains that are the draw. Simply the best grilled sole I have ever had anywhere, each fish brought out before deboning and the taste is delicate, firm, and mouth-melting. The burger is one of London’s finest, and the desserts — never pass on a fresh baked crumble — have something for everyone. The service is first rate, from the friendly greeting to the attentive and informed service.

To be clear - in addition to paying the service charge for my bill, there was a specific separate service charge listed below it for having a non-alcoholic drink.

Utter professionalism, excellent comfort food, discreet and kind staff. Forever my favourite restaurant in London.
