Dhillons Golden Fry in Gateshead

Been tonight ordered online, got to shop which takes me 20minutes, to be stood for over an hour in the shop while others came in and out asked to be told won’t be long on multiple occasions to notice pizza hasn’t even been made, attitude on the lady on the counter is appalling asked to cancel order as my daughter who was with me was fed up of waiting told will check and out came my food won’t be returning

Very average fish & chips for the northeast. They also make you pay extra for tartar sauce, ketchup, gravy, etc. That’s cheeky.

what a fab piece of fish...done in breadcrumbs tasted of the sea..s hot and the very best.......spoilt àgain wi the best fish n chips around ...hot tooo....thumbs up from us ....

Ordered a regular and large Donner meat and chips, only difference was the amount of chips. The Donner meat was more orange than brown and rubbery. Won't be returning.

I order a lot from here but this time was awful. Kebab meat was terrible, pizza was cold. Sorry dhillons! But someone didnt have their head in the game this week

chip s only a lil warm other than that fantastic as usual beautiful tasting fish ....No 1 around these part s I would say for best aFish & Chip s ...well done guy s .

First time used Dhillions on just eat haddock and batter cooked to perfection highly recommend. Very polite and cheerful delivery driver as well

Fish was fairly big I suppose. Ordered the jumbo cod and chips for myself and a mixed kebab for my missus. Fish was nice enough. The chips were warm not hot. Curry sauce was acceptable. Not spicy enough for my taste. But nice. Would order again.

Order was wrong & when corrected was awful & dry. Second time this has happened now so won’t be back. Some of the staff r lovely so such a shame. Couldn’t fault delivery driver

We usually love this place, but if the food is anything like what we've been served tonight, we aren't going to come back. We will try this place again and hopefully they will give us some actual sauce on our food when it has been specifically ordered with it / paid for, and actually put on the extras when we have paid for them. And to also take payment, in person in store, knowing they havent provided the items paid for. VERY unhappy tonight!! Deffo need an apology

Ordered 2 large wraps strait after my friend who left with his not long after ordering however I stood and waited for a large kebab wrap and a large chicken tika wrap to be stood watching other people walk in be served with food after me. I stood for at least 20 min to then be given a wrap with no chips! Tried to phone up and was ignored normally adore this place but recently new staff seem to not care at all and our wraps were basically empty just sauce. Very dissatisfied.

Lush food and the staff are amazing too. They always take note of any requests asked of them in the notes section and it just makes them shine even more! Keep up the amazing work guys!

JUST HAD MY FOOD DELIVERED AND MY CHICKEN WRAP WAS COLD AND I HAD TO HEAT MY MUSHY PEAS UP IN MICROWAVE

corned beef pate was delicious along with pizza and southern fried chicken however chips were pale and cold. doesn't stop me from ordered though as we enjoy the food.

Very disappointed with the service,the female member of staff had no manners, the fish and chips tasted lovely but the chips were very dry and there was a few bones in my fish over all the attitude of the staff and the fact the fish is supposed to be skinless and boneless i would not recommend this particular shop to anyone, and I certainly would be going there again It’s a shame because I’ve always had good food and a good raport with the staff

Sadly our order wasn't the best this time around, we ordered the kebab meat and chips with garlic sauce and it arrived totally plain which was really disappointing.

My nanna ordered fish and chips and the staff behind the counter charged her over £10, they hadn't given her what she ordered they had given her batter and chips but because they knew she had dimentia they took advantage of her, I just want everyone to know what sort of place this is! Absolutely disgusting!

Ordered the tonight at 19.21 didn't arrive till 20.58 ran shopping after waiting 1hr 20mins to be told its on its way order arrived 20mins after that stone cold and order incorrect never again

I live next to this restaurant and I used to go there every day but they were so rude the women over there was more rude and the staff as well the food is unfresh and it doesn’t have taste at all

I wouldn't even give them 1 star, absolutely freezing, ive had better margarita pizzas from my freezer, garlic sauce like water, kebab freezing and probably one of the worst I've had, a hand full of chips, like about 20, to expensive for what you get and took over an hour to get here, never again!!

Ordered jumbo cod and chips when got back home as fish and chips in a box the fish was a small fish and not even a handful of chips what a rip off had food from here before good quality just a ripped of this time .

Ordered two large tub of garlic with order and didn’t receive this was for collection to which I thought the tubs were in box to get home and notice none in also chicken was hard and tasted over cooked

Worst cheese garlic bread with kebab . 14 quid for a burnt black pizza. Normally our regular chippy but will change to another chippy after this. I’m sure it’s fine for fish and chips just avoid there pizzas as not had issue with any other order before. What a shame they would send a pizza so over cooked as clear to see if I could upload a picture you would see how bad it is

missed out chips with the burger i ordered, rang up they said they would send them out, rang back up as it was half an hour after and the women on the phone was quite rude, didn’t get the chips until more than an hour later, so disappointed won’t be ordering from here again

Was nice then turned quite bad for the kebab wraps. They sell the wrap more than the kebab and the chips were not good. I have noticed if the owner is working everything is really nice

asked for extra sauce and only a little bit of cheese, there's barely any sauce in and covered in a massive thick layer if cheese

I've used Dhillons a handful of times after discovering them a few weeks ago, and they've quickly become a favourite and go-to for me. Their portion sizes are extremely generous, the food is fresh and delicious, I highly recommend the Punjabi wrap especially. I feel that you can tell a lot about a chip shop based upon the sort of bread that they use, and everything from wraps to bread buns is top quality. My only (very minor) criticism is that the online menu doesn't have options for portions of salad separate.

Possibly the nicest pizzas in the North East, fish was delicious also, 2nd time we have had food from here and both times the food has been really nice and tasty, well worth the money.

Absolutely shocking, so rude for no absolute reason, women on the phone was so cheeky trying to charge us more. When we asked why the food is so much she proceeds to raise her voice . Absolutely horrible customer service will never ever eat here again

Checked times online said open from 11.30am till 10pm, drove down (wasting fuel) to find it shut, seriously just update your times so people aren't wasting there time driving to a chip shop that's shut.

Fab food, attentive staff, there is a reason this place has queues. Ordered tonight ...delivery was on time and food was piping hot and in vast amounts ....box meals are great value.

Always very good. Think there's a limit to how great the atmosphere can be in a f&c shop. Has a big variety of choice. Great value F&C on a Thursday Special Offer and portions are their normal large portions!!

Although the food was nice it wasn't very hot. I ordered an offer 3 for £6.99 which says includes a burger, chips, salad and can of pop. I got the Hawaiian burger which has came with two beef patties and ring of pineapple (that's all) no chips, and just iceberg lettuce on the side. I was looking forward to my burger and chips with proper chip shop salad, safe to say I won't be ordering that same offer again 👎🏼

Food arrived 40 mins late, missing pizzas, bolognaise has no spaghetti or pasta with it and looked like a tray of blended dog food went in the bin. Phoned to to say pizza was missing and had to explain to 2 different people what was missing
