Mcdonald's Restaurants in Gateshead

An absolute disgrace at present - shouldn't be open! On our visit: Doors broken, ordering machines not working, ceiling collapsed, seats taped off, toilets taped off, no heating (kitchen staff were literally wearing puffer jackets!), no ketchup, no napkins, fries served cold. You could see our breath inside it was so cold in there! Only thing it had going was the staff still remained friendly, despite the fact they were working in what felt like outside January temperatures. McDonald's should be ashamed of themselves for taking people's money in this branch just now.

Took 20 minutes for a hamburger and chips to be made, whilst everyone stood freezing watching the workers move at minimal speed giving out an order every 3 minutes. Worst McDonald’s I’ve been to

Waited over twenty minutes for a milkshake, mcflurry and a latte. Latte was half warm, mcflurry melted but the milk shake was fresh! The lass who served menwas dead canny bless her. She was trying her best to save a sinking ship. She had some lad who was playing 1, 2 miss a few order 27, and literally seemed to just do whatever he wanted, with no rhyme or reason. The manager just minced around trying to look busy, when really all she was doing was hobbling about on the phone. The sewting area was freezing cold, dirty and half the tables were closed off with do not use tape? Due to how cold it was, we just went and sat in the car. All in all, as McDonald's goes this one joins Weaterhope on the list of ones I won't go back to.

Terrible Experience at This McDonald’s This is one of the worst McDonald’s I’ve ever visited. One of the main doors was closed, forcing everyone to use the other entrance. There was no heating inside—it was so cold that everyone had to keep their coats on. Half of the seating area was closed off with tape, giving the impression of a crime scene. The restaurant was dirty, and to make matters worse, a kid next to us was vaping while I was trying to enjoy a meal with my children. The staff didn’t seem to care. I ordered coffee and hot chocolate—both were served cold. The overall service was poor, and the staff appeared uninterested. The entire experience was disappointing, and I couldn’t enjoy my meal because of how badly this location is managed. I wouldn’t recommend visiting this McDonald’s.

Worst thrown together big mac. Not a great visit. Update 22nd Dec so slow focus is on deliveries not in person customers. Over 20 mins for a breakfast roll. Come on mc ds sort it out.

The queue at the drive thru has become horrendous, takes 30-45 minutes. It is no longer fast food!

Broke down in the drive through queue ,managed to get out of the car queue and park up in the car park . The night shift manager lent me some basic tools to try and get my parking brake off but no joy . Eventually I had to be recovered. The manager sorted my parking extended time out with the parking company and offered me hot drinks until I was recovered in the early hours of the next morning. This guy deserves a pay rise for sure , went well out of his way to help his customers. Thank you .

Literally the slowest service every single time, too few staff and too many just eat orders . 35 minute wait several times , easier driving to Blaydon

Food is as good as any other McDonald's restaurant but this establishment has extremely poor service, around twenty orders waiting and nearly twenty minutes waiting for food. Appalling that they have a single person making the food at such a busy period, then for the people who are on shift to be so impolite and poorly managed is a very big ket down. The ceiling is half missing inside and a very cold inside temperature to the point you could actually see the mist from people breathing. Very poor representation of the McDonald's brand.

Toilets are upstairs, but had really nice chocolate milkshake.

you should be able to choose whether you pay with things with money or points not just certain things. thats why i rate a 4, overall good food tho ☺️

Absolute shambles today. Over half an hour to wait, don't normally have to wait that long in a proper restaurant, never mind McDonald's. Had to go up to ask where is it. They claimed we hadn't ordered despite having an emailed receipt.

Like a lot of McDonalds these days they get you to park up somewhere and they bring your food out even though you didn’t ask for it that way. This outlet sort of requires you to drive around again to get to most of the one way car park. If it’s busy you have to Q to slip past new drive through customers. To go park to wait.

Always very slow, Staff member was rude to us about incorrect order and the manager just looked over and walked away.

Chips were stale. If all McDonald's were like this I wouldn't ever have another one again. It never used to be that bad in this restaurant. Take some pride in what you're serving.

Cmon McDonald’s. Bloody outrageous

I'm not a regular customer of McDonalds, I used to be when I was younger. On the one hand the kiosk ordering and payment system is good but it means you spend more time waiting for your food (20% orders 80% waiting). Before the kiosks it was a more even split so it felt as though you were waiting less. The food hasn't changed, it's McDonalds (it tastes the same everywhere - even in Mexico) just the experience.

Slowest service ever. Old women on breakfast licking her finger to open bag. Absolutely revolting. Like covid taught them nothing. Ridiculous.

went to the restaurant at 7.45am. the toilets stank like hell, the tables stank of the same damp cloth used in the toilets - you'd think the place would smell better first thing in the morning. the muffin bread was undercooked and smaller than the palm of my hand. horrible horrible place...

There was a 40min delay to get food, and there was an issue with their computer system, so several orders were lost.

Forgot I left this review so updating it as unfortunately have returned. Better than last time service is pretty slow but they’re polite which is better of the 2. Food could be better mainly the chips

Taking an hour to get through drive tru

Food is fine but the service times are very slow, we waited 20 mins on a Saturday morning when it was quiet

This is the only branch that seems to constantly have products missing off their menu. Either simply lack of planning or very unlucky with machine failure.

The lady's that clean the tables were really helpful in getting us a table to sit at. 5*

Lack of vegan options, for a company this big isn't good.

Toilets upstairs !! Used the machine to order. Only good thing was the table service and we didn't have to wait more than 15 mins.

Not a great experience on a Sunday outing as the fries were cold and soggy and waited for 15 minutes to relieve them via the McDonald's app. Worst Maccys in a long time.

Lad preparing food with cuts up his arm, which looked fresh and should have been covered. Customers were complaining about service, staff replying they had no staff. Waited ages for something small, won't be coming back. Mayo chicken burger was stale.

Everytime we seem to order from here something is either missing or it’s cold. This time they’ve missed out half of the order they put fries in for a meal and no acc food for the meal and a box of nuggets

Ordered 1 cheeseburger, 4 nuggets and chips, and it was a 15 minute wait, the place was dead but they were taking so many Uber orders they ignored the people in store, meant to be a quick snack

I recently ordered from McDonald's via Just Eat and was highly disappointed. The food arrived cold, fries were soggy, and burgers tasted stale. The drinks were lukewarm and watered down due to melted ice. Despite these issues, Just Eat only offered a partial refund, which I find inadequate given the circumstances. This experience was far below expectations, and I urge Just Eat to improve their quality control. I hope for better service in the future.

Me and my girlfriend have been coming to this particular McDonalds for a long while and have had no issue with food or staff. However recently there’s seems to be a member of staff who we have had our issues with. I am unaware of her name, but she is an elderly lady reasonably tall. This member of staff is incredibly rude and nasty and she always gets our order wrong. Today she got our order wrong and when we went back to her to get it change, she huffed and puffed at us saying that we were wrong before she looked in our bag and realised she had got it wrong. The rest of the staff are very helpful and lovely however this member of staff is absolutely awful.

Worst, slowest and most expensive McDonald’s ever. Go to a proper McDonald’s. franchised so corners cut everywhere. The gents toilet stinks to the heavens. This drive through used to be 1st class but that’s all gone. Don’t even see the delivery drivers hanging about here anymore. Under staffed so I do feel for them. 😔

Had missing items from my order. Ordered an hour in advance and selected a specific time for it to be delivered and it was still late.

I've rang and spoke to the driver as it was sent to wrong address, I've sent him new address which is only 1.4 miles away from McDonald's he says it was I miles and now blocked my number nearly £30 for a McDonald's I won't receive

The drinks were missing from the order. I addressed this with the delivery driver, who said there were no drinks on the order. I showed him the receipt attached to the bag that showed that I ordered and paid for drinks. I asked him if he would get them. He refused and said that's all you have and I'm not coming back, quite aggressively. Absolutely appalling service and something I should not ever have to experience at my own home.

Delivered late after 2 phone calls from the driver who apparently was lost (I live on the main road) The meal was delivered in paper bags - no insulated bag, the hot meal was cold and the ice cream more like milk

If you value your time, choose another McDonald's. In fact you'd probably get your food quicker if you drove to Cornwall and ordered your food there. Three cars in the drive thru queue and inside closed and still took way longer than it should of. Staff seemed happy just to stand around looking aimless.

We went to this Macdonald's at lunchtime on a Sunday and used the drive through lane. One hour later we'd gotten to the window to pay, asked what the delay was, were advised there was lots of customers inside and so they were running slow. I asked to speak to the manager, and asked why they didn't close the drive through or at least have someone go out and tell people waiting the wait was going to be that long. The manager was unaware that it was taking so long, didn't apologise and didn't start advising other waiting customers. I cancelled my order, still no apology from the manager. So after more than an hour waiting and speaking to the manager I left hungry, annoyed and seriously unsatisfied at the customer service. For a fast food restaurant this is the worst service I've ever received. Complaint has been lodged with Macdonald's directly, but I'd recommend avoiding this establishment.

Order never came. The app has it marked as delivered. Not good enough just eat, your service is absolutely disgusting. I’ve had many bad experiences with just eat, will not be ordering again. Get your act together

Never get the first delivery slot the time is always revised. 10 pound difference between ordering online vs drive thru. Will use drive thru going forward.
