Horribly overpriced for what it is and where it is. "Coolwich" is a myth and doesn't justify Zone 1 prices

Great atmosphere and nice staff but the food is ridiculously overpriced for a pub chain.

Not the best experience, I'm afraid. Booked for brunch and then were made to feel unwelcome as we were told no-one asks to be sat in the restaurant at that time. Then the chef and the waiter were shouting at each other as they couldn't fulfil our order. And bizarrely given oat milk for a coffee without asking?

I came today for the first time. Place is beautiful - ambience, food quality and sevice. Claudia was particulary kind and has warm smile that makes you feel really welcome. Boyana V

unfortunately totally let down by the dial arch new years eve. event manager should be sacked, totally in-appropriate DJ hired for the evening totally flat evening although left before 12pm and managed to get my money back out of principle not what i wanted or expected. had attended few years prior for a good night.

I celebrated my special birthday party at the Dial Arch. The food was great, I was able to play my own play list. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Perfect venue for a party.

Amazing experience. We went there for a birthday party and we loved the food and drinks! Customer service is impeccable and very knowledgeable. Claudia and Mini were very helpful in assisting us with the wine selection. Very friendly. We loved it.

I asked for starters to arrive with mains. This did not happen. We waited 55 minutes for our mains to arrive. People who sat down 20 minutes after us were served way before us. Waited forever to pay the bill and finally had to walk to the entrance to pay. Winter salad was gross. The whipped feta was a runny, salty mess. Nice atmosphere. But that cannt make up for bad service.

A great place with bit of local history. Food drinks and atmosphere fantastic.

We went for brunch and it was great! There were not a ton of options on the brunch menu, but everything was delicious. It's a little pricier, but good for meet-ups and reunions.

Quite horrible experience, wanted to order a cheese board, waitress didn’t even know that it is on their menu and at first and suggested to order something else, finally she found it and placed the order. Once received our order 3 blocks of cheese came with 4 small crackers, when asked if that’s the portion, female waitress at the bar and manager himself showed horrible attitude. Not very nice service, wouldn’t recommend and probably won’t visit again even though it is our local pub.

The food was beautiful. The roast beef was so succulent. The banoffee mess didn't look like I expected, but outweighed all taste expectations. The only note I would add is that a DISCRETIONARY tip of 12.5% was added, and asked for by the waitress when we chose to still tip, but tip less than the 12.5%.

Delicious Sunday roast - couldn't fault it. Service very good on the whole but didn't get the jug of water we asked for (twice). Standard atmosphere.

Despite being extremely busy on a Saturday night with Christmas parties the efficient staff promptly organised a table .Food very good and so was the service .Thank you to all the staff and particularly Claudia for looking after us !

Absolutely loved my first British Pub experience at Dial Arch in Woolwich. We came in late after trying a couple other places without success and we came in and they still had roast 🥰 And y'all - it was delicious. We had the pork and the chicken roasts and they were 10/10. The gravy. The Yorkshire pudding! The deliciousness of the falling off the bone roasted meats. And shout out to Claudia for recommending we slather everything in the garlic mayo. It. Was. So. Good. And we finished up with the sticky toffee pudding. Highly recommend you come here, kick back with delicious food, throw down some pints and relax. It'll be worth your time and money!

A lovely evening at the Dial Atch for a wedding celebration and pre Xmas get together, hiring two lovely rooms. The perfect comfortable and cosy environment. The food was spot on and enjoyed by everyone. The service was excellent. Thank you to Olly and the Dial Arch team for making it such an enjoyable and memorable evening.

My partner and I had a lovely time at the Dial Arch last night celebrating our anniversary! All staff were very attentive and friendly, but we’d like to mention Claudia specifically for exceptional service.

We hosted a small party here and everything was excellent. The staff were so polite, kind and helpful!! They took care of everything. The space was also really cozy and warm. We also ordered a few sharer items for the group and the food was really delicious! We would highly recommend.

We had a Christmas meal today for 12. The food was lovely and the service from Claudia was excellent. She made sure we all had the right orders and that everything was up to standard. Kyle was also great, making sure everything ran smoothly. Wonderful 😀

One of the most expensive pubs in the UK. Based in Woolwich, but thinks it's in Knightsbridge and you wouldn't half mind if the service was good. Many moons ago when the pub first opened, it was absolutely my favourite pub. The atmosphere was amazing, the service was super friendly and fast. Now, the bar staff seem to go out of their way to be as rude as possible, one of the guys who looks like Uncle Albert (OFAH) storms around the place, kicking chairs that get in the way of him taking drinks to tables (giving evil looks to customers who don't jump out of the way of him), and looking like he hates everyone. You've got over privileged 'kids' who work at the bar who thinks their job is beneath them and just looks into space before servicing the next person (you've got to be asked to be served as they won't serve you otherwise) lol. I assume the attitude from staff comes from the top as the bar manager seems to love himself too much to actually work.... £30 for two glasses of wine and bad attitude leaves a very bad taste in the mouth, which is a shame because the pub itself is beautiful, but as it stands, until the attitude of management and staff changes, this isn't a pub worth going to anymore.

After we weren't satisfied last time, we had a really good time there today. Attentive staff, excellent food including drinks. I have to give André a big compliment for listening to my criticism and making me feel good today. The wreath making event didn't bother them in any way, it was nice to see how they worked on it. We will definitely be back. Merry Christmas!

Only gave 4 stars for atmosphere as it was early Monday evening. Think it would be much better later in the week and evening. Restraunt was quiet when we were in.

We enjoyed our first meal in London at the Dial Arch. The fish and chips hit the spot and was big enough for my son and I to share it. He also wanted the apple and blackberry crumble for dinner and he gave it two enthusiastic thumbs up. Claudia helped us at the table and she was lovely! She made sure to bring out his crumble first so he had something to stave off being hangry; and she brought the rest of our meal promptly after. Will definitely make another stop here while we are in town!

An interesting venue with a very long bar. Nice to drop in for a drink, but quite nosy as there aren't many soft furnishings.

Visited for a friend's wedding so we had an area reserved. The food and service were excellent. When using the public areas of the pub I found the atmosphere to be chilled and relaxed. With easy access from Woolwich Elizabeth Line station this is well worth a visit.

Friendly place . We ate in the pub rather than resteraunt . Sadly no person to wipes the tables there so unhappy with the hygiene . Only need 1 staff member to do this would have made us happy . Will Go back as great environment and space to meet up

Came here on our first night in London for a late dinner and drink. We arrived just when the kitchen was about to close, but still could order and had a very delicious burger. Our server was really kind, recommended both food and drinks and always approached us with a smile :) We really liked the industrial design inside as well! It was lively on a Friday evening but not overcrowded. Overall great experience, thank you!

We ate here in October and could not fault it. The food was delicious and the staff were attentive and helpful. If we lived nearer, it would be a regular eatery but being 95 miles away! We found the price very reasonable, from memory is was around £80 for two courses and two drinks each, 2 people.

Would have given 5 star but telly with Rugby too loud (nobody was watching) and only the disabled toilet for women to use. But staff are lovely and food is excellent - just hope the toilets get sorted soon and the telly is turned down ;-)

We came for Sunday Lunch. The roast beef was amazing. Everyone loved their food and in particular the Yorkshire puddings. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was so tasty. Every time I visit the Dial Arch, which is often, I feel the need to write a review, but restrictions on this mean I must save my praise and share it all in one big info-dump. I’ve been a regular, longer than probably any other, having lived in the area for over 2-decades, and I have to say that, under the leadership of Andre, this local bar has become the most inclusive and welcoming of venues. As an inclusion and wellbeing specialist, I am especially attuned to how diverse the staff are and how this attracts a range of customers. Andre has created a safe space for the community, where all are welcomed, not for the money they spend but for their unique and diverse characteristics, which make the Dial Arch a genuinely physical and psychologically safe space. It was especially encouraging when homophobic patrons were encouraged to improve their behaviour toward us by the supportive bar staff, Rob and Kyle. We were reassured and felt that we belonged and that no form of disrespect was acceptable. I refer to Andre’s leadership and customer-focussed approach in so many of my Inclusive Leadership workshops, as an illustration of how important it is to have a diverse workforce who represent the wider community, and can’t stress how important this is, not only to business success but also to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the community. We experienced terrible service 8/11/24 @ 4pm Woolwich branch. When we walked in, the first waiter at the door (bald man) made an effort to ignore us and intentionally walked off as soon as I made eye contact with him. Then we had to walk around to find someone to offer us a table. Eventually we found a waiter in plain clothes with no indication whatsoever that he worked there. He sat us at an awful tiny table despite the restaurant side being TOTALLY empty. We got our drinks and summarily got forgotten about and had to hunt another waiter to take our food order. The burgers were mediocre and nothing special, and my cocktail wasn't mixed properly and I had to buy lemonade to create my own! As we were leaving, i noted that the disappearing waiter reappeared to check that we had paid for our food as of course, black people can't afford burgers and chips. Absolutely I wasn't going to leave a tip!

Very difficult staff when asking for a baileys coffee instead of the baileys hot chocolate that they sell and wrote on the board, they said they couldn’t make changes and the bartender said they had no license to sell it which I though strange as they were selling hot chocolate with baileys. The manager came over and said they could sell the coffee and baileys separately and it was nothing to do with their licence but by this point I had lost the will and had already just ordered what they had on the board. All in all a strange encounter and it felt personal…it would have been fine if they had gone about this in a kinder more serviceable manner - quite flippant and rude

Good pub (not budget, but you get what you pay for), great food, nice atmosphere. A shame about the frequent 'single file' post office style queue mentioned in other reviews here, which lets down the ambience of the venue. The pub has asked in previous reviews for suggestions to prevent this so fair play for being engaged. A sign partway down towards the door telling people to come to the bar for service and not form a line may be needed. The layout of the doors going down to the bar, plus a disproportionate number of people ordering food/drinking outside, is probably behind this. Hope it can be resolved as these queues let down the ambience of pubs somewhat. It also makes a pair of nice seats in that area unusable as it would mean having a queue of people constantly stood by you.

We showed up after being at the theatre with a large party and no booking, the team were fantastic at accommodating us, great service thank you!

Absolute stunner of a pub, great beers and the food is top notch too. Lads e we had behind the bar were really knowledgeable and poured a great pint. Excellent place to while away an afternoon or a swift one after hopping off the tube.

I had a brunch early week birthday celebration. Although it was something very simple we were made feel special! The server went above and beyond to accommodate us and our short time window away from the kids. Little things that made my day!

OK, its sad to write this as the overall experience was great and the staff couldn't have been better. BUT, the food was very variable. We were 7 people with a special needs adult and they staff couldn't have been more accommodating. The food though was poor for quality in some cases and for the cost. Starters: 3 had the scotch eggs, very tasty, nice spice and mustard, would recommend. The soups were good as well. Mains: 3 of us had the all meat sunday roast, and whilst the chicken was ok, pork was very tasty the beef was dreadful, they where minute steaks not cut from a joint that had been roasted. The potatoes where reheated from frozen and not fully cooked I left 2 of mine and i love roast potatoes! Carrots portion was tiny, one small slither of one. Vegetarian roast was ok. Vegan burger was very good. Sweets: the apple/rhubarb crumble was good and the ice cream excellent. The cheese board thought was very poor, for £12 you expect more than 3 small pieces of cheese, one cheddar that had patently been out for some time. The mess was delicious . Wine was very nice and reasonably priced. Personally, I would go again, but would not try the carvery or the cheese board !!

Had an absolutely lovely evening there tonight after a local networking event and we were served and looked after at the bar by Honey, who was very patient and hospitable whilst we got our food and drinks orders in - she's a credit to the company and we were super happy with everything! Been going Dial Arch for quite a few years for New Years Eve and always had a great night always look forward to it Music has been brilliant. But last year seeing in 2024 wasn't the same. They had changed the layout. Where there was always a big dance floor going down the middle and tables just down sides this time they had put more tables down the middle with people still eating .Usually nice big sofas to relax on near the fire with nice ambience. Whoever managed it the last time didn't get the layout right and you just had a small bit of space Infront of the DJ to dance with quite alot of people and it was squashed also probably different DJ and playlist wasn't great. It's such a shame has just didn't enjoy it like every other year. Please put it back to how it was.

Sat down and ordered from the app, the place was busy but feel like they needed more staff or just a bit more attentive as most of the tables were dirty (covered in salt) and sticky / not cleared. Food was tasty but drinks took 25mins to arrive from app, food took 40mins. Lovely vibe but needs more staff probably.

I love this pub for a local drinks 🍸 their staff are friendly and I always feel welcome. They are dog friendly so it is a favour spot for my dog and I. If they had a sports room separately.... probably would make it the best.

I celebrated my birthday here yesterday with about 30 friends, and the experience was absolutely brilliant! The vibe was spot on, and the team took such great care of us. Everyone was so pleased with the food, and the service was fantastic. Special thanks to the manager and the person who looked after us throughout the afternoon. Really glad we chose this place—it made the celebration even better! Highly recommend!

I visited Woolwich and stopped by in the morning. The full English Breakfast is on spot. The service is prompt and the decor is super cozy. Recommended

Pork Tbone and Steak Frites were generous portions. Somehow the chicken/leek pie was a little below expectations - I was told the same did not accompany mash and I was mistakenly under the impression the lack of mash would be compensated by a big fat slice of pie but that was not the case - juicy, meaty but small. Atmosphere is cool and service is effective.

Was previously ok but Incredibly rude staff refused to serve me for no discernable reason. Refused to explain why despite a polite query and fail respond to written complaint to manager. Food overpriced for what's offered and of Medium quality anyway. Don't support this space unless you want the same issues to occur to you

Unbelievably slow bar service. It's crazy, there's clearly a problem, and it's been a problem for a while. Very disorganised.

I had dinner with a friend last night and although the food was good the service was dire. Firstly, when we arrived there was no one to greet us even though a member of staff walked past us several times. After ordering our food and a bottle of wine the starters arrived before the wine and I had to ask where it was. My starter was soup and arrived without any bread, again I had to find a member of staff to ask her to bring it. After an age with my soup going cold she brought two pieces of bread but without butter. When I asked her to bring some she disappeared again for ages and I ate most of my soup while waiting. When she eventually returned she brought a block of butter that had obviously just come out of the fridge. Totally unusable. It wasn't as if the restaurant was very busy, there were only a handful of people sat anywhere near us so I dont know why the service was so dismal, not that being busy should be an excuse for bad service. We also had to wait a very long time to find someone to ask for the bill, no one seemed to care at all. As mentioned the food was tasty although the portion size of my lentil salad main was tiny, it was more like a starter size. I won't be returning.

Had our wedding reception here and we were all very surprised by the quality. All the guests felt the food tasted delicious and fresh, feeling more like a restaurant in terms of food quality than a pub. The service was also amazing, and Kyle was very helpful throughout the night. He regularly checked we were happy with how the evening was progressing, and no request was too much for him. Pints are on average £7-8 here but across the road they're £4-5. They also queue at the bar here, in an orderly queue. Never seen this in my life. Very strange. Slow service, expensive beer and a proper Beefeater vibe. Avoid.

Spacious, but lots of staff that are seemingly not customer focused. Relatively expensive food and drink. Lovely old building and good range of beers.

The building's atmosphere and furnishings are very cool. I have been here several times with my family, and it was almost always full in the evenings, but we found a place anyway. The food is delicious, most of the time - as I'm not English - we eat the traditional fish and chips. (In June, I ate tomato soup, which was more of a sauce, but the other dishes were still fair.) I think, the service fee is very high, there are usually five of us. Next time I will be traveling to Woolwich in October, it is likely that I will be their guest again. Worth a try!!!

With a nice selection of ales and beers this gastro pub has a lovely courtyard. The sunday roasts looked amazing as well. Really well located near the station.

We frequently come to Dial Arch for lunch or Dinner, or even drinks. This time we were a group of 20 for a Birthdays. We had Kids with us & we all had a blast. We had a small room, adults and kids were enjoying themselves.
