Outside beautiful but inside modernisation not in keeping. Church across the Green is well worth a visit.

Nice food and friendly staff. There are some excellent walks around the very pretty village.

Rooms, ambience and location great. However, if check-out is at 10:30, you are urgently informed about this time and the breakfast buffet is cleared away at 9:45, it is like being thrown out in an unfriendly manner.

Took a Hong Kong friend to here last week - wish I had tried it before! The delightful, small village sets the atmosphere, and the Ring of Bells did not disappoint in any way. Attentive and friendly service, and the food was superb. Nothing "exotic", but all the better for it if the standard is good. It was much better than that! Will certainly return with a feeling of confidence.

Gorgeous pub in a gorgeous village. We hadn't booked and up at 3 pm, in-between lunch and dinner, so not not ideal for them, but they were very accommodating and served up some delicious ciabattas. Very dog friendly, excellent service. Decent real ale.

Wow … what a great place. We had drinks and then dinner here. Dinner was 5 star. Better than some of those fancy places that charge too much … seriously good food and great wine. 10 out of 10. Thanks for a great night.

Super little local pubs, a very high quality lunch with some real love on the plate.. Even a nice salad alongside the ciabetta.... And super homemade onion rings.... Will even go back and try the evening service

Not the great village pub that it used to be. Reservations and all tables laid with cutlery for meals are not synonymous with what we like in a village pub

Our first visit to both the village of North Bovey and The Ring of Bells and well worth it, a quintessentially typical chocolate box Devon village, The Ring of Bells is situated around the village green. With plenty of outside seating in the front courtyard, inside is a beautiful and authentic mix of wooden beams, with a soft modern accent, beautifully decor, soft furnishings, spacious and elegant, the use of the interior space has been considerately thought through. The menu was a delight of locally sourced ingredients, varied and balanced to suit all tastes, I tried the scallops and the rump which were both superb, between us we also tried the spicy parsnip soup and the calamari, along with both the quiche’s of the day and the sausage and mash, all of which were a delight on the taste buds. Having left room for dessert, we opted for the home made dark chocolate cheesecake, creme brûlée and tiramisu, all of which were a superb finish to a very exceptional, delicious meal. The service was efficient, friendly and welcoming, the presentation of the meals was exemplary, and we look forward to returning soon, thanks guys, a very special afternoon in deed

Had lunch today, with my girlfriends. It was lovely to see the fires lit, lovely ambience and a busy restaurant. The food was excellent, and the staff welcoming and super efficient. Well Done to the team. We will be back. Laurie Preece

Hiked over here from Bovey Castle and enjoyed a rewarding beer at the pub. Lovely place and cozy pub. Looks like a great place to dine as well.

lovely Sunday roast with good ales and friendly service

Hope they have changed their poor attitude since my visit. I visited some time ago with a friend of mine house hunting in the area. We were ignored (refused service) for over half hour because we were on motorcycles. I have read articles about it going bust ? I would give zero stars but it wont let me post that.

We had a fantastic lunch here. The steak melts in the mouth and the service was excellent!

Absolutely beautiful location, warm and welcoming pub. The food is out of this world. Its not cheap but you get what you pay for. Worth every penny. Kudos to the kitchen.
