Faber Wine & Seafood Restaurant in Hammersmith and Fulham

Great service and great food. Came as a group of 6 to a reserved table. Warm and efficient reception even though we turned up early. Drink requests and later food orders made in a timely and appropriate manner. The menu and special meal board was varied and interesting. Although specialising in fish dishes the steak was cooked to perfection and really enjoyed. All the fish (John Dory, crispy oyster, lemon sole, fish and chips) were fresh and delicious. We all loved the chunky chips. Two of us had beer and wine which was also excellent. The dessert (honey tart and apple/raisin ice cream) were also great. Nice coffee too. All portions were ample. Throughout the meal staff were attentive and friendly. The ambience was very pleasant, dimmed lighting and nice decor. Finally, the bill (£260, including SC) was very reasonable given the quality and service. Faultless meal, definitely coming back and a well deserved 5 stars.

Absolutamente encantadora comida de marisco. Tanta elección - optamos por platos pequeños para que pudiéramos probar numerosas cosas y todo estaba delicioso. Disfrutamos particularmente de las brochetas de bacalao, bechemel de cangrejo marrón y croquetas de eglefino - delicioso. Todo esto combinado con un excelente servicio al cliente y un ambiente y entorno encantadores significa que lo recomendaríamos a todos.

Fantástico lugar. Quería ir por un tiempo. Fui con un compañero. Ambos nos lo pasamos genial. El personal era muy amable y atento. Los vinos estaban bien valorados y tuvimos un maravilloso vino 'naranja', el gerente estaba encantado de dejarnos probar los vinos antes de decidir. Tuvimos un entrante de cangrejo y toda una suela Dover con fichas de copa de mano. La comida era fresca, bien presentada y muy sabrosa. Con gusto volveré.

No entiendo las críticas aquí, ya que nuestra experiencia simplemente no fue buena. Frente al personal de la casa bueno con una excepción, y algunos platos son agradables, pero ahí es donde los aspectos positivos terminan tristemente. Después de esperar una hora en la barra para una mesa improvisada, nadie nos trajo menús, así que me levanté para ir a buscar algunos después de 10 minutos. Nos trajeron una carta de vinos y luego simplemente no pudimos hacer que el gerente nos llamara la atención para tomar el pedido por mucho que lo intentáramos, así que una vez más tuve que levantarme y caminar hacia él donde estaba cenando cerca del bar en lugar de cuidar de los clientes. Observarlo por la habitación y cómo le había hablado desdeñosamente a su barman fue desagradable. Entradas: croquetas buenas pero el jamón era un tardío de 70% de grasa con un 30% de jamón escondido debajo. Mains: pescado y patatas fritas ok (buenas patatas fritas) pero el pez monje muy promedio y porción pequeña por £ 30. El gerente se acercó y preguntó cómo estaba la comida, pero no lidió bien con la respuesta honesta de que estaba bien, pero no muy bien, habló educadamente. Su disculpa fue tan poco sincera. De alguna manera, este restaurante simplemente no fluye bien, un gerente que no debería estar frente a los clientes, buena comida y una decoración poco inspiradora, todo a precios injustificados. Espero que mejoren, pero no volveré para averiguarlo.

Visited this stylish, relaxed restaurant for a late Saturday lunch. The food was absolutely delicious- 3 of us had fish and one had duck and all dishes were declared excellent. Sides, puddings and wine also all superb and helped along by friendly and efficient service. A seafood gem worth seeking out. Highly recommended.

Excellent menu and delicious food. Staff were very friendly and good with recommendations. Very extensive and well curated wine list. Good atmosphere, the interiors were likely and there was a great soundtrack. Just the type of restaurant Hammersmith needs!

We came for a birthday dinner and it was superb! We had lots of drinks and food and all was lovely. From oysters to lobster to a whole John Dory! We will return when back in the area / for a special occasion as is quite pricey but lovely atmosphere and decor. My one criticism would be the service was a little slow as not many staff working on the floor.

An excellent restaurant located near Hammersmith station. The dining room is high ceilinged, light and airy with an interior design and decor which is minimal, cool and modern. The menu is British sourced and inspired and specifically seafood. They offer an A La Carte Menu alongside a daily Specials board. The food is excellent especially the Whole Lemon Sole and the Whole Skate Wing as mains. The variety of starters were also very good. They come as small plates so you can order a few to share. The drinks menu offered a wide range of British brands. We had a great meal and the service was excellent. If you enjoy seafood, then this is certainly a must visit. I will certainly be going back.

My husband and I are here before going to a comedy show nearby. We were astonished to find such an excellent fish & seafood restaurant so close to Hammersmith underground station. The atmosphere is relaxed and very beautiful. The staff were friendly and fun and seemed really happy to be working there. All of our food was outstanding and we will return!!!

Our experience at Faber was both hit and miss: Hits: Initial impression is excellent - classy coastal interior design 241 cocktails during happy hour were fab Other than the issues below the front of house staff were great. Loved most of the dishes - highlights were the lobster croquettes and the goats curd salad- and 4 small plates + a side of chips was perfect for 2 Misses: Took 5 minutes after being sat down for someone to bring us the menus. The small plate mussels smelt so strongly of ammonia that we had to double check with the kitchen that they were ok to eat. They said yes and we didn't get any ill effects from the few we did eat so they must have been fine but they really weren't to our taste so we left half. Front of house were also having to do the drinks behind the bar so when the restaurant got busier it took a long time for drinks to arrive. So in summary this place has loads of potential - just a few tweaks needed to make it a must visit.

It was my first time to visit this restaurant in Hammersmith. The spot is effortless to find, and the restaurant's interiors give you that vibrant Greek atmosphere! I went with family friends, we ordered 3 from the specials menu which is written on a blackboard. Thanks to Jasper our server who is so attentive, his recommendations are spot on and we loved it! We ordered the creamy mussels, that was so good and I mean it! I am not into seafood at all but I love the flavour and freshness of their food! The grilled fish was so fresh and tasted lovely. To finish off we had the custard tart which probably was the highlight of the night as we liked it and commended the chefs! I will be back for more and Jasper thank you, you are a star!

This was my second visit to Faber and it didn't disapoint! I had a wonderful Hake fish and chips with curry sauce and my friend had the seabass - both were delicious. I love that everything is sustainably sourced. The service was great and considered, no over rushing, just right. Thank you! I will be back!

Such a lovely little gem in Hammersmith for amazing seafood and oysters! The cocktails were also incredible (go for the Grog!! Very tasty). Our waiters Jasper and Tom both took care of us wonderfully. They were attentive but not overbearing and explained the menu and helped out with some recommendations. The prices were on the higher end, but as we were celebrating for a birthday we were splashing out a bit as well. I believe they also do some good deals such as the workers lunch as well as cocktail and oyster Happy Hours so can definitely be enjoyed on a budget too!

Lovely food tasting food but it took an hour to come. Long wait for starter and mains. There was one person taking orders and serving whilst the bar person helped. The portions were very small. I gave most of my trout main to my partner as he looked hungry still. We did not order dessert for fear of waiting a long time. The waitress explained the menu and specials which took up additional time. A simple explanation on the actual menu and these out our specials uf you need any assistance please ask would have sufficed! We will not be returning, purely because the service was too slow and portion size too small. We declined to pay 12 5% service charge which was not justified. More staff front of house and kitchen would have made a huge difference. Shame because the food was lovely and the barman was polite and cheerful. Pricey but this was not our issue. We have tried restaurants all round the world, we feel basic changes would truly elevate Faber.

A comfortable and spacious venue, friendly but if you drift from the workers lunch the idea its £10-25 is fiction, even the bead and water push the price way beyond that! The food is excellent, fresh, well prepared although some of the sauces while 'cheffy' are often dominant. The portions are not very large but the bill can be surprisingly so. Enjoyable but more so on someone elses tab..........

Great reviews so had to give it a go while staying local. All very nice , service was fab , food tasted great …. But , I understand fine dining …. And I understand portion sizes …. Walked out mesmerised and looking for a takeaway …. Service charge at 12.5% knocked the bill well over £110 for 2 people … Been , done it …. Wouldn’t return on value for money basis

We visited for lunch on a Sunday. It’s a nice venue with upmarket decor and comfortable seating. The printed menu comprises mainly smaller plates, while there is a daily blackboard which includes whole fish and other items. Our family of 2 adults and 2 young kids ordered the bread, croquettes, cod cheek skewers, scallops, trout tartare, pollock, hake fillet, lemon sole, and some chips. We tried the sticky toffee and the honey cake for dessert. The food was very good. Fresh, high quality seafood that was well prepared. I should note though that some of the smaller plates were really small, even within the context of the “small plates” era that we all live in now. Service was super friendly, but the food did take a bit of time to be delivered, especially considering we were one of the earliest bookings on the day. They also forgot one of the items that we ordered. Our bill came to £225, of which £45 was spent on drinks. Not cheap, but within reason considering the setting and the food. A great lunch overall, and I look forward to a repeat visit!

The menu wasn’t explained well, as the dishes on the card menu were small dishes, whereas the dishes on the board were mains. We ordered some off the card menu and were surprised of the small size. The main dishes were served luke warm, rather than hot/warm. Quite disappointing.

Great food, extremely pleasant staff and amazing decor. I would highly recommend this restaurant! Undeniably one of the best seafood restaurants I’ve ever visited and they deservedly will receive my custom again. In addition, I believe the prices were extremely reasonable for the quality and service provided. A must go!

We stumbled across this whilst waiting for teens attending a gig at the Apollo. We were lucky they had just had a cancellation. The small plates are delicious but probably not the most cost effective way to try this place out. The bread is delicious. Service was helpful and friendly. Wine perfectly chilled and dry. It is pretty pricey but we thought, on balance, it was worth it for our impromptu treat.

A conveniently situated location very close to the Broadway so leave your car at home! Large well decorated high ceiling dining area without packing the tables too closely, comfortable. Highly recommend the Workers lunch, going a la carte will push the price up! Above all else delicious well presented and cooked plates although the portions were not huge but more than enough for a pleasant lunch. The cod cheek skewer in a caper tartar was delicious and everthing was bang on fresh. The fish was a bit pricey but sharing wasn't frowned upon. The sides were equally tasty especially the dark lentil puree with kale and creme fraiche. A pleasant glass of wine with a novel house water idea serving finished off with coffee was an affordable 'workers lunch', I'll be back!

You think this is a good spot to dine out. But This is an expensive restaurant. Delicious seafood menu but in small portions. We Paid 179. + for Small fish fellet for 4 +2 beer & bottled water.

Recently opened the restaurant specilaises in seafood We had excellent oysters, scallops on a sweet vegetable puree and monkfish skewers on an amazing tarragon cream, one of our party was licking the plate clean We had a mix of seafood mains including mullet and trout , accompanied by fabulous chips We finished with big slabs of wonderful sticky toffee pudding The service was superb We had a really good time here

Hammersmith is in sore need of a good business lunch restaurant but unfortunately Faber isn't it. Primarily a fish restaurant with fresh, tasty, and well cooked food but very small portions, overpriced, and drowned by loud pop music which the staff refuse to turn down. I have been to quieter Rock concerts.

Lovely local gem! Who knew there was a fantastic fish restaurant one minute walk from Hammersmith station? We didn't, despite living around the corner! We took a chance and went for dinner and were very pleasantly surprised. The concept of serving British produce (fish, wines, sea vegetables and even water) feels very timely and the quality is great. It was really hard to choose what to eat, especially among the tapas, although they are small so you don't really need to choose! The scallops and trout tartare were delicious. The look and feel of the restaurant is beautiful and the service is really friendly and helpful, Thomas was really enthusiastic and helped explain a couple of dishes. Being hypercritical, you could say there are a few things they could iron out: we'd have loved to try the non alcoholic cocktails which sounded great, but didn't notice them on the wall over the bar until the neighbouring table asked about them. Also the dessert menu could potentially be improved as the options are all a bit heavy (I love sticky toffee but it was sadly the last thing I wanted after so much delicious fish!) potentially a lighter posset or even fruit salad would be a useful addition? Finally, the selection of sides is also limited and we felt like we missed green vegetables.

Lovely food but very small portions. We were a party of three & were advised to order 9 tapas-style dishes and that some items on the board were not suited to sharing. We ordered one of every dish that we fancied so most of the menu, but each was tiny. The scallop was the size of a queen; the trout tartare was a spoonful, the cod cheek was one split over 3 skewers etc. The chips (about 3 each) and the cheeseboard (only one type of cheese but a big oozy wedge with fantastic Melba type sourdough toast) saved us from leaving feeling still hungry. The restaurant is beautiful, very comfortable chairs, though the accessible toilets were freezing cold. The staff were very polite, helpful and knowledgeable but although I’d maybe go back & order every small dish to eat on my own, I’d hesitate to recommend it to anyone because the portions were embarrassingly tiny.

Exquisite visit to stunning new fish restaurant. Attentive and engaging staff with great menu knowledge. Fish Tapas concept with choice of Fresh fish from the morning's catch. The restaurant even catered extremely well for a member of our party with seafood allergy (Steak option)! Highly recommend

Wonderful service, sophisticated environment and fantastic menu with a real focus on sustainable and British seafood and shellfish, all perfectly cooked and presented. Headed along before a gig nearby and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Would recommend.
