Fig & Fennel in Cheshire East

A busy cafe. Staff were attentive. Table couldnt be clear right away, which was not a problem for me. Later on, chef gave us a cake, gratis asan apolgy for not getting the table cleared sooner. A nice gesture.

Not sure what to expect when we went here although reports were good. The food was good and the staff attentive, but the constant noise, hardly music, was just a very low frequency thump. thump thump.

Love this cafe, really nice menu, pleasant staff and nice atmosphere. I reluctantly only gave it 4 stars because the service can be quite slow. I’ve been a couple of times for a ‘quick’ breakfast when there has only been one other table occupied by customers and still had to wait for a good 45 mins for food. When you’ve somewhere to be (like work) this makes a nice morning turn into a stressful rush. Don’t be put off by this review, just make sure you give yourself plenty of time to enjoy your visit.

Delightful little cafe bar, dog friendly, and the staff are very welcoming. We had a light lunch, Fish Finger sandwich, and the Rainbow Bruschetta. Both were well presented, delicious, and top notch. I loved the crispness of the goujons, and my partner enjoyed the variety of toppings on the bruschetta. Loose leaf tea was so nice to see, served in bone china cups as it should be. Very glad we chose to go there, and looking forward to a return visit sometime.

After frequenting this restaurant for the last year, the service this morning was absolutely abysmal! We were offered one drink and after that the waitress simply forgot we were there, we then waited almost an hour in a virtually empty restaurant for our substandard meal. When offered roasted vine tomatoes, I received a single large tomato that cost - wait for it - £3.20 🙈 We will not be returning!

A lovely evening at their first event. Food excellent great atmosphere good service. Highly recommended. Will definitely be attending next event and popping in for coffee and cake.

Called in today for a late breakfast what more can I say excellent food and probably the best eggs Benedict ever fab staff fab relaxing background music. Definately highly recommended place to eat

We went there for my birthday today with the family. The food and the service was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff they were so friendly. Will definitely recommend and go again. My Grandaughter loved sampling the new juices! Thank you to the staff for making my birthday special.

The service here is awful. We were the fourth table when we arrived and we were told they would be right with us but after 10 minutes of waiting we decided to go and order at the bar. Food is expensive but good, however the chef is often very late and I sometimes have to go elsewhere because of this. On one occasion we were provided with drinks before being told that the chef hadn’t arrived. The only reason I keep going back is they allow dogs and sometimes give away free sausages. I’m afraid they offered them on my last trip but forgot to actually give them to us.

Have been during the day , but they are now open , at the moment, Friday and Saturday evenings. Visited last Friday and very cosy atmosphere; the tapas menu was very good and we enjoyed everything we ordered . We were given hummus, olives and nibbles which were delicious and complimentary !! The owner was very helpful and friendly and we are convinced that it will be successful . Will definitely be back soon .

I don't know why there isn't more amazing reviews, we have been coming here for years, they have had some bumps in the road previously with staff and service, but we were so glad we persisted. The food is always good and the staff very helpful. Feels healthy and caters to all diets and allergies! We will be back next week!!! Have gluten-free bread and dairy free options

Stopped here for a quick pit stop whilst cycling. Nice little cafe and really friendly staff who gave my little dog a sausage. Few tables outside and around corner in the green.

My son took me to this gem of a cafe for brunch - menu was varied and creative and I chose a lovely new take on eggs Benedict with smashed avocado and a fabulous pesto sauce. Best brunch I’ve had for years and both of our meals were beautifully presented by attentive and friendly staff

My husband and I went for a lunch on our day off work, we will not be returning. We both ordered food and drinks. My husband’s lunch came and he began eating. Mine never arrived, despite waiting and waiting. My husband had finished his food with still no sign of mine. By this time we’d had enough so paid our bill only to find my food was on the bill! We complained advised my food never turned up and it was taken off. Unfortunately with no apology from the manager or explanation as to what happened (despite him having to come out to the till to take the food off). He left the young lady serving to deal with it all. Totally unacceptable service not only in not receiving any food, but not even getting an apology. We will never be returning here as a one off lunch as a nice treat ended up with my husband eating on his own and me heading to the supermarket for a sandwich.

We booked a table for lunch at another restaurant in Poynton. Arrived on time only to be told our table was taken. (Shan't be going there again) Had heard good things about the Fig and Fennel, so gave it a try. So glad we did, we'll make this our first choice from now on. Plan to work our way through the menu. Excellent food, great service and friendly staff, and a book exchange !!

Lee has catered for 2 of our work meetings and both times food has been excellent. Nothing is too much trouble. On a personal level it’s our go-to place for breakfast / brunch / lunch. Never had a bad meal. Staff are friendly.
