Quite a “staff canteen” but open to visitors / public. Excellent choice / variety of food and very competitively priced. Hot drinks are bizarre; you pay at the till and then receive an empty cup to go and serve yourself tea / coffee. Self clean after eating.

For a hospital choir e and quality of food very much questionable. Unbelievable amount of free sugars .

Found myself in a corridor nearby waiting on someone around lunchtime so went in search of something to eat. Following the signs for 'Fosters Restaurant' I fully expected to find myself at some rip-off cafe where a packet sandwich is £5.99 (think hospital parking) - I could not have been more wrong! Fosters is a good old-fashioned 'government run' style canteen that put me in mind of the Milk Bars of the Soviet Union - Big portions of hearty hot food for prices that you wont believe (a main meal costs £2-4)! There is a hot food counter as well as a salad bar and some delicious looking cakes and puddings. Hot and cold drinks complete the offering. I went for a portion of the Potato and Onion Pie with Peas and Carrots: This was delicious (think tartiflette but prepared by your school dinner lady! ), and very filling. There was also a 'spicy pork and fruit stew' and several "and chips" type options. The sticky-toffee pudding and custard also looked good, but I got called away.... Whilst this cafe is in the bowels of Gloucester Royal Hospital, it is open to the public, and if I worked locally I would be here often for lunch. What a great place!

Booked a room for 3 people, when checking in we were asked if any of us had a driving licence to confirm who we were when we said we didn’t we were informed that unless we could provide proof we would be unable to stay, luckily I found I had my senior citizen bus pass with my photo and name on which they said they could accept. When getting to our room we immediately noticed the paint and plaster coming off the wall, the old windows were ill fitting so could hear rain and wind was as if we were outside, it was very cold. It wasn’t until we got back to room in night and went to bed that we found the base of the one bed was broken in the middle the mattress had to be put on the floor for my friend to try to sleep. Shower pressure was bad also toilet wouldn’t flush. We reported the issues on returning the key in the morning was just told it would be reported
