For my birthday myself and five friends came here for lunch. It was really great! I ordered the garlic bread which was very flavoursome and garlicky - just how I like it. I also had a Franco’s special pizza which was absolutely cracking. Lots of meat and full of flavour. The sourdough bread was nice and crispy and well cooked so was lovely and crunchy making the meal all the better. Our waitress Lowri was great. Very attentive and friendly. Ordered efficiently, delivered food efficiently and room the payment efficiently. Everything you want from a waitress. Thank you Lowri for making the lunch even better!

The pizzas here are delicious. Such tasty toppings and the base is perfect. The restaurant has a great feel to it and there are windows with plenty of light and views outside. Lowri was a very pleasant waitress and made us feel very at home. We really appreciated this.

Great range of pizza options, excellently cooked, consumed in a relaxed but vibrant atmosphere. A decent range of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic and reasonable prices - Not the cheapest, but you're paying for good quality food! One of our party had an unusual food allergy which was managed perfectly and without fuss by the staff. The branch in Exeter always seems busy, but we were able to get a table as a walk-in. If you're looking to dine as part of a group, it's worth booking in advance.

Staff have always been slow to take orders, deliver food and greet customers at the door and it only seems to have gotten worse over the past few years. They seem to especially ignore student aged customers to cater to non-students. The only redeeming factor is the food.

Went in for their £5 pizza deal and despite the restaurant not being too busy, my friend and I were stood there for around 10 mins before being greeted. Service was super slow and unenthusiastic, what should have been a quick meal took over an hour. The only redeeming quality was the pizza itself

The food was absolutely amazing! I had the number 10 pizza, red wine, and tiramisu. The service was even better than the food if that’s possible Giampiero was the best waiter I have had in years! He made the dinner more than a dinner, an experience! Would highly recommend!

Booked for 7 on Saturday 20th Dec 2024 at 2pm. Ordered drinks which were paid for by one of the group on ordering. On leaving the bill still had all the drinks on it, but at the till we were assured they weren’t on the bill. After what seemed ages, and a lot of hassle, everyone had paid, but seems most paid more than were expecting, so assumed the drinks hadn’t been deducted! The ‘Francos Favourite’ pizza was bland and tasteless, plus seriously lacking in toppings, with about 10 tiny pieces of ‘ham’, which were mainly fat! 2 others paid for extra meat which looked slightly better. Worst part of all was the wine. Ordered a bottle of Montepulciano for 3 of us, which is my favourite Italian wine, so know it well. There was no mention of it even being Montepulciano on the bottle which is very strange and only 12%. The first sip was a shock, as it was bloody awful. For £25.50 this tasted and smelt like a £1.99 bargain bucket bottle, and undrinkable. This was all mentioned to the staff, who were quite frankly the only good thing there, as they were friendly and helpful and apologetic, especially the girl who tried to sort the bill out. No one had anything good to say about their food, or the ‘No Logo’ beers I’m afraid, so don’t waste good money on drinks in there, or come to think of it food either. Never going in one again.

Four of us Dining last night. Ordered a couple of Pizzas, a meat and mozzarella platter and some bruschetta. Food was Enjoyable, hot and authentic. It arrived in good time too. I liked that the kitchen was open to the restaurant. However the service was poor. Right from the word go our waitress clearly was having a bad night. She seemed frustrated that we weren’t ready to order food when we just wanted to get our drinks and look at the menu, she returned fairly swiftly with a bottle of wine, and a bottle of water but slammed them on the table including the glasses. She only brought 4 and audibly tutted when we asked for 4 more (so we had 1 for wine and 1 for water). She took our food order and it arrived swiftly. As I said it was delicious. We wanted to order another bottle of wine and she was nowhere to be found so had to grab a different server.. once the food was finished the 3 ladies went to the toilet and I spent 10 minutes trying to attract the staffs attention to clear the table. Again she acted with disdain when asked. 5 minutes later she brought us the bill which we hadn’t asked for. I ordered 4 limoncello which came quite swiftly but then we had to wait over 15 minutes for a coffee. All in all good food, okay ambience but poor service. Thing was that we spent £150 and I almost always tip 10% but decided it wasn’t worth it so paid the exact amount. Probably would go back but wouldn’t want the same server.

Soo slow to get food out, completely overun by just eat orders which are priority so they can’t satisfy restaurant customers. Poor.

Great place. Top quality authentic pizza at a very reasonable price. The only improvement I can think of is maybe sharper knives or scissors to cut the pizza. But one of the best pizzas ever I've had.

Total lack of control from the serving team. Took far too long to take orders, serve drinks, balance out starters and mains, and even serve our tables course at the same time. It was quite clear that several tables in the restaurant were frustrated and the two staff were doing very little to remedy or manage the flow ( seemed to be taking delivery orders while allowing seated guest to fall by the wayside) I’ve eaten a few of their chain and generally the experience is well managed, but last night was too far from the mark to go unnoticed.

Lovely meal. Pizza is a 10/10. Haven’t had the garlic dip before and it was lovely. Hayden was great and very attentive too.

Recently visited with a friend I haven’t seen for awhile so our visit was a bit of a celebration dinner and I have to say it was such a lovely evening!! The food was delicious and the service was incredible, we got chatting to one of the new managers Hayden and we could not fault his hospitality!! What a great venue we’ll definitely be back for our next catch up!

Unwelcoming atmosphere. Nobody at the door so we just picked a seat. We sat down for more than half an hour and no one came to our table. Not even a hello, 2 members of staff were wondering round the restaurant and there was only 2 other tables sat in the whole restaurant. Rude! So we just got up and left.

Pizza is not my go to food (was a group thing) so I had cold meats and picky bits. Staff were incredibly hospitable and friendly

Booked 20 days ahead of a birthday requesting window seat for sentimental reasons. On arrival told table had "over run". No apology or attempt to think of a solution. Booking also asked if it was a birthday which I confirmed, however, unsure why as not acknowledged at all. Very dissatisfied with service and staff.

Worse than awful. I can’t say the service was terrible as it was nonexistent. We asked for a table and were pointed towards a table outside by an extremely disinterested member of staff. We waited for someone to come and take our order but no one did. We left hungry and annoyed. We won’t rush back. We went somewhere else and were served immediately.

Food was quick and tasted great, Service was good, the waiter Rowan was pretty sound too.

Really enjoyed the pizza. Was hard to pick which one as they all sounded great. The bases were amazing and not stodgy. Would definitely recommend to pizza lovers. Plenty of seating and was not busy as all

It was my first time in a Franco Manca and I had gone in with a friend and her kids. My mate had told me about how good he thought Franco Manca was so I thought it might make a good lunch for us all. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. They did a kids option and had a lunch deal on. A pizza and a drink for £10. You had to choose from a selection of pizzas but there was lots of choice and there was easily choices I fancied. The pizza was as good as my mate had said and we all enjoyed are lunch very much. So much so, I appear to have forgot to take any pics.

Lovely pizzas and friendly helpful staff. Unfortunately the Aperol spritz and red wine were served in a tumbler, as though we were at a 9 year old's birthday party. We like wine glasses and cocktail glasses!

Service was friendly and quick, pizzas were amazing plus the dips for the crusts! All had empty plates all full up and it was good value too.

Today's experience at this restaurant left a lot to be desired. This was our second visit to the restaurant. The first time, the pizza was excellent—delicious, fresh, and perfectly prepared. This time, the staff was completely different, very laid-back—which is fine—but they lacked experience. The restaurant wasn't busy. We ordered three pizzas and one for the child. The pizza arrived burnt! Burnt and bitter, it was simply inedible. We had added chicken for £3 as an extra option, but we had to search for the chicken with a magnifying glass; there were literally three tiny pieces of what seemed like minced chicken. But... the burnt pizza was unacceptable. We returned the pizza, and we were offered the choice to wait or leave. We decided to wait. It took a long time, and no one even offered us a glass of water as compensation. The second pizza was slightly better, but it was obvious that the oven hadn’t been cleaned in a while. The entire staff was watching us for our reaction, which was uncomfortable. Both my husband and I run two restaurants, and we train our staff to perfection. In this situation... well, this customer would have been pampered to perfection. Anyway, we ate half of the pizza and asked for the bill. The kid’s meal was supposed to include a pudding, but no one even asked if the child wanted dessert. Our bill: the chicken, which we had taken off the second pizza, was still added, and worst of all, a service charge was included. I’m usually very happy to leave tips, but in this situation, the visit to this restaurant was so uncomfortable that I will definitely avoid returning any time soon. Maintaining a good, consistent standard is no easy task. You need to try much harder and learn more; a customer should leave satisfied, not hungry and disappointed. Unfortunately, there won’t be a return visit.

Excellent pizzeria in the center of Exeter. Italian pizza chef, excellent pizzas, not too British but still quite Italian. The ingredients (tomato, mozzarella, anchovies, olives) and the dough are excellent. Great for a break after visiting the beautiful cathedral.

I ordered two pizzas tonight and it was the first time in my life that I saw pizza without any tomato sauce base. Completely dry and weird because the lack of the tomato sauce and also very cold. Not eatable at all. I have tried to call many times and they didn't picked it. Deliveroo offered me a refund of £7, but both pizza together cost over £27. Additionally, the foccatia is exactly the same dough than the pizza? Are you sure you selling foccatia and not plain pizza? And the 'wild garlic dip' is absolutely awful, very bitter leaves badly mixed with olive oil. Really disappointed as I already had very good pizzas in person in this restaurant. Did you don't mind of ruining your reputation with this poor quality of pizza delivery? I'll never again eat from this place and deleted my deliveroo account.

A very nice and comfortable place, with friendly staff, and a very good gluten-free pizza.

Pizza was nice. We ordered a beer which on the menu was 330mls. They served us and charged for a pint which was not on the menu which was a bit cheeky as we didnt ask for it. Sneaky upsale tactics like this puts me off returning as its just dishonest and makes me think what other things they might be doing with the food etc that i am not aware of.

Popped back to this restaurant for nostalgic reasons. Staff were lovely - the pizzas are great but I think the menu is less varied since we went last time. I would come back if we are passing again.

The pizza was amazing.. first time I've ever been here. However the waitress needed people skills, her attitude was unpleasant and she wasn't friendly at all. No tip left for her, just the obvious SMILE, BE POLITE OR DON'T WORK IN HOSPITALITY...

The pizza was one of the best I ever ate. Unfortunately the service was a bit slow, we were done eating for almost 20 minutes and wanted to order a tiramisu. Luckily the waitress came some minutes later and we were able to order. All in all it was very delicious and I would recommend it to everyone 🫶🏻
